Say hello to . . .
Simple. Comprehensive. Transparent.
The MotoMiner team believes car searching should be simple, comprehensive, and transparent.
To achieve this, we built innovative technology that allows car shoppers to search the entire web for cars. This has yielded the most comprehensive car search engine to date: MotoMiner. MotoMiner provides a simple search experience and displays transparent results to help car shoppers find the best deals.
MotoMiner is a web search engine designed to search for automotive classifieds on the World Wide Web. MotoMiner is a specialized search engine, in that it extends basic search engine behavior by identifying, extracting, and indexing vehicle detail pages in a more intentional way.
Since November 1, 2014, MotoMiner has indexed 1,427,414,695 vehicle detail pages on the World Wide Web.
MotoMiner displays relevant vehicle classifieds in its search engine results. There are many automotive classified/listing sites today. MotoMiner is different from these sites in that it's the first true web search engine for vehicle classifieds. Our search engine aims to solve many of the problems associated with traditional automotive classified listing sites of today.
Since the 1990's, hundreds of car search sites have emerged. We label these websites as traditional automotive classified sites and for the sake of brevity, we'll call them "Traditional." So what makes MotoMiner different from Traditional?
Traditional provides a limited number of vehicles for shoppers to search on.
These sites rely on sellers (auto dealerships and private individuals) to feed them with classifieds. Sometimes they are paid-only feeds and some may be free. Regardless, car shoppers are unaware that there are many more vehicles available than are listed on these sites.
MotoMiner provides the most vehicles possible for car shoppers to search on.
MotoMiner does not rely on sellers to submit classifieds to its search engine. Instead, MotoMiner mines the web for as many motor vehicle classifieds as it can find. This process eliminates the cost for vehicle classified placement and import/export barriers that are present in traditional automotive classified websites today.
Traditional often collects and sells shopper personal information.
A common theme used to monetize this older model is to sell shopper information to auto dealerships and financial institutions (i.e. leads). This industry practice frustrates both the car shopper and the seller. For example, a car shopper may express interest in a vehicle by filling out a vehicle inquiry form on one of these sites. While the car shopper may think their inquiry is forwarded directly to the auto dealer, their information is often sold to third-parties and their privacy has thus been compromised. These sites are often littered with gimmicks to get shoppers to enter their personal information.
MotoMiner does not capture and sell car shopper personal information.
MotoMiner is not in the business of capturing and reselling car shopper private information. MotoMiner simply presents a deep link directly to where it found the vehicle's detail page (VDP). This process enables the car shopper to go directly to the source of vehicle classified information. So, unlike other classified sites, MotoMiner does not monetize itself by hijacking the buying process.
Traditional doesn't allow car shoppers to go directly to the vehicle detail page (VDP) listed on the auto dealership's website.
These sites try to keep the car shopper on their site, so once the car shopper submits an inquiry (lead), they can sell the lead to auto dealerships and financial institutions. We understand how frustrating this can be for both the car shopper and seller. Also, car shoppers want the latest and most accurate information available for the vehicle. What better way to get this information than navigating straight to the vehicle detail page (VDP)?
MotoMiner links directly to the vehicle detail page (VDP) located on the dealership's website.
MotoMiner shows deep links in its search results, so its car shoppers can navigate directly to a vehicle's detail page (VDP). This helps car shoppers get the most up-to-date information about the vehicle and the peace of mind that their personal information won't be captured and shared by a middleman. Sellers get leads from their own website instead of a third-party and they also get more traffic driven to their primary website. It's a win-win scenario.
Some traditional sites grant more horsepower behind their brand which brings unfair exposure.
Auto dealerships employ software which may be owned by the same parent company as today's vehicle classified sites. We have seen that this fact can often yield unfair vehicle classified exposure.
MotoMiner makes every effort to show the best deal based on the data we have indexed.
MotoMiner does this regardless of the auto dealership's software vendor. If MotoMiner shows search results which have been sponsored, we will visually indicate that fact.
MotoMiner was founded in 2013 and went live November 1, 2014. It's the first true and pure web search engine for cars. The solution was architected by a seasoned development team and runs on the Microsoft Azure Cloud Platform. MotoMiner's technology coupled with Azure has yielded unparalleled power and scalability which is needed to process extremely high volumes of data on a continual basis.
The MotoMiner team believes car search shouldn't be restricted by cost and technological barriers. It should be free, comprehensive, and open to everyone.
