Great staff and deals

By KJernigan on 4/27/2017 at 1:50 AM. Helped by Rob and Mike.

We stopped in on a whim to ask some questions. The staff was fantastic and very knowledgeable. We decided right then that this was the place to get our new vehicle.

I would recommend this dealer.

Whether purchasing new, or used, its buyer beware

By Luchey on 2/13/2017 at 7:19 PM.

My car was in for an expensive repair and through it all the dealership & Service Manager left me with the impression that they could not get rid of me fast enough. Let’s start with the fact that I was provided with none of the courtesies or communication that are typical at any dealership. The repairs that were performed on the vehicle were not explained to me at the time of pick up. When my running car arrived the first thing I noticed was that the car was not washed. Then I entered my vehicle, the interior smelled of grease/oil badly. Disappointed I drove away to find lights on my dashboard were on (ABS, Stability Control, low tire pressure) and a warning on my dash stated I had 15 lbs. of tire pressure in my right front tire. I put air in the tire, took it to a quarter wash, and picked up a few air fresheners at the gas station. The next day my car wouldn’t start…..dead battery…... If the dealership had any issues with the battery, I would have appreciated a courtesy notification. On the test drive if they encountered warning lights on the dash board I would expect a courtesy notification as to why the lights were on. They weren’t on when I took it to them…… Lastly, is it too much to ask for a service technician to put air in a tire when a customer’s car is in for service? All of this leads me to believe that: 1. Al Serra’s service department does not care about its customers 2. An Al Serra technician did not test drive my vehicle 3. Al Serra is too cheap to extend a single courtesy to their customers 4. Al Serra is too focused on profit to communicate the condition of their customers vehicle when they return it to them. I have purchased 3 vehicles through Al Serra and I wish I would have known this earlier. None of the above provides ample comfort when making a financial commitment the size of purchasing a new vehicle and should serve as a warning to potential customers of the Al Serra Auto Plaza. Whether purchasing new, or used, buyer beware. You may be better served at trustworthy dealership, or at least a dealership who appreciates its customers.

I would not recommend this dealer.

By Chet on 1/4/2017 at 4:13 AM. Helped by Service writers.

Check engine light came on and just drove into the service department and they took the vehicle right in and corrected the problem and I was on my way in no time. Best dealership in the state of Michigan.

I would recommend this dealer.

Professionalism Above & Beyond

By OxStew on 9/16/2016 at 3:11 PM. Helped by Jim Papatheodore.

I was down to a last straw in trying to find the car of my dreams when I stumbled upon Serra Grand Blanc and I haven't looked back. In 2010 when Buick introduced the all-new LaCrosse, I wanted a specific model/options but couldn't find it. I had been to 5 different dealerships throughout the Detroit Metro area and salesmen there all explained "it's not so much about what you want but what we have - and the car (options/trim combo) you want doesn't exist." I got the same message when I went to Serra Buick in Grand Blanc and since there Cadillac showroom was next door, I thought I'd go see what they may have since I couldn't find a LaCrosse. I sat down with Jim Papatheodore and we talked about alternatives but then asked what I really wanted, so I told him about the LaCrosse. He was surprised that no one was able to help me and said "give me two days," which I did. After 2 days, Jim called me back and found exactly what I wanted - 2 in fact: 1 in Escanaba and 1 in Columbus, OH. He went above & beyond what anyone else had done and because of that, he has earned my business several times over. Since the dealership is 45 minutes form my home, there have been times when they've brought loaners to my home for routine and warranty service - again, much more than one could ever expect of imagine from most dealers. In the past 7 years, I have bought/leased 5 vehicles from Jim and look forward to my next vehicle from him as well.

I would recommend this dealer.

Willing to work deals

By fasteddie on 8/29/2016 at 6:11 PM. Helped by Jon Paris.

Jon Paris, the primary salesman who first turned me onto a deal did a great job. Due to travel distance and a more desirable color, we ended up going to a different dealer. Overall we're grateful that Jon Paris turned us onto this opportunity even though we did not purchase from Al Serra.

I would recommend this dealer.
