They made it right!

By RHT565 on 11/16/2018 at 8:41 PM. Helped by Howard.

I originally left a very poor review of this dealership, but after the General Sales Manager (Howard) got involved we were able to work out a deal. I will buy from them again.

I would recommend this dealer.

Poor customer service with warranty work

By Snooz on 9/23/2018 at 12:56 AM. Helped by No one would help..

I am a 65 year old woman whose battery died suddenly. I called to see if I got a jump could I get in to swap out my battery that was covered under warranty. The girl whom I spoke with was not helpful at all and borderline rude. I was told I couldn’t bring the car in until Monday. Thus incident was on Saturday afternoon. I asked to speak to a manager. I left him a message and my call was never returned. I got right in at Chapman. Friendly courtesy service. I will never go back to Auto Nation

Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere!

By NatalieK on 7/14/2018 at 9:52 PM. Helped by Kent Murrar, Bill Hawkesworth.

Hands down the worst experience I have ever had at a dealership. The sales manager, Kent Murar was incredibly patronizing and rude. I live in Tucson and had found a vehicle in their online inventory that I was interested. I spoke to a salesman about the vehicle, discussed pricing, was pre-approved for financing (+800 credit score and considerable down payment) and expecting to drive up to Phoenix to complete the purchase without much hassle. The quoted mileage emailed to me by the salesman was 7 miles - brand new right? The vehicle I was presented with (matching stock #) had 2800 miles on it and potato chip crumbs in the cup holder. I had made an appointment to look at the vehicle 48 hours in advance so they had plenty of time to at the very least, do a quick detail before presenting it - regardless of the mileage discrepancy. The salesman was with another client when I arrived for my appointment so he passed me off to another associate, who passed me off to another before finally speaking with Kent. Kent made statements including “Im sorry you think we misled you” and “due to your misunderstanding” when addressing my frustration over driving 2+ hours to purchase a vehicle with 7 miles on it, only to be presented with a vehicle with 2800 miles and crumbled potato chips in the cup holder. The other buyers around me all joked that we should start a support group for our terrible customer service experience at this dealership.

I would not recommend this dealer.

Called for oil change 2/22/18 1st oil Change

By Kim Rawe on 2/23/2018 at 5:52 PM. Helped by It was a female unsure of her name.

I had a good experience when I bought my car brand new at AutoNation Ford in Scottsdale. It is time for my first oil change so I called yesterday to see what the cost would be, letting the girl know that it is my first oil change. I ask if I purchase the gold plan if it covered the oil change she gave me to finance dept to find out I do not have it covered only the vehicle warranty. Which is fine the reason I called is they are a distance for me to drive if it is not covered I would go to a ford dealership closer to me. I called automation closer to me but they were booked so I got ahold of surprise ford dealership and took it this morning. To find out I should have got my 1st oil change FREE that Ford pays for the first oil change to the dealership you buy it for. I am very disappointed that I was not told that yesterday from the dealership I bought it from. I hope they contact me and reimburse me for my oil change since I would have gladly went to them if they would have inform me of this. I want others to know of this so they get their free oil change!!

Service Visit

By singlemom on 1/27/2018 at 7:48 PM. Helped by Kevin.

I have been taking my 1999 Ford Explorer to this service dealer for several years (usually just for oil changes), noted that they tend to overcharge at times so sometimes I would have them do the work and other times would take it elsewhere. This time my car began to make rattling noises so I had my 17 y/o son take it in (I am a single mother of 2 children and their father died several years ago) since I work full time. Next day I speak with service rep and he tells me they can do 2 things, 1) fix it enough to keep it running for $3100 or put a new engine in for $8000 (car has Blue Book value of ~$1200. My son was very attached to this car so I said let's do the $3100 fix......5 days later I am told it is unfixable and needs a new engine which I can't afford so I told him I would pick it up. He tells me that the engine is all torn apart and I need to tow it out! Not only did I have to tow it out after it was driven there but I also had to pay $500 for their labor cost!!! TOTAL SHAME ON THEM!

I would not recommend this dealer.

False advertising

By Chvanhoy on 12/17/2017 at 10:48 PM. Helped by Charles, Vance.

Worst customer service following a falsely advertised vehicle. Drove all the way from Yuma (almost 200 miles) after being quoted a final out the door price on a vehicle listed on the website. Got here and noticed the vehicle doesn’t have a dvd system like the website said. Sales rep was rude and immediately asked why we didn’t verify it had the dvd system before driving out here- like we’re supposed to know that they falsely advertise on their website. The manager was apologetic and assured us they would contact the higher level managers and figure something out, whether it be installing a dvd system or coming down on the price maybe. After waiting all day for a phone call that never came, we called to ask what the status was on the issue and were told they wouldn’t be doing anything to remedy the situation, and that it was not their fault as they hire a 3rd party to post pictures of the vehicles. So not only had they decided not to fix their error that cost us an entire day and gas money, they weren’t going to bother letting us know even though we were in the area waiting on some kind of response. Absolutely disgusted by the lack of customer service and lack of professionalism displayed.

Liar Liar

By bmboll on 9/14/2017 at 9:20 PM. Helped by Anderson Shultz.

I found a vehicle online that I agreed to buy. Being from out of town I was not able to be in the showroom. After working with the salesman over the text and email to finish the deal...They sold the car to someone else. They said since I was not there they have to sell it to the person that is. Very disappointed. Not only with my experience but that they don't recognize that what they did was wrong. A deal is a deal.....Right? Edit: I just got an email from the sales manager saying the salesman offered to hold the vehicle for $250 but I refused. We did all our communications via text and email. I told him to ask the salesman to show him where he offered that. He didn't. Anderson Schultz is a liar and a poor salesman.

Tried to charge me for work they didn't do.

By PhoenixAZ_SamR on 9/11/2017 at 7:59 PM. Helped by Duane.

I took my F150 in for the first service (tire rotation and oil change). After I paid $64, I noticed that they hadn't rotated my tires. One of the valve stems is unique and was in the same location (right rear) of the truck as when I dropped it off. So I checked the oil. Still dirty. No oil change was performed. They claimed to refund my credit card when I pointed out to them that they didn't rotate my tires or change my oil. My credit card still shows the charge as pending so time will tell if they actually refunded it.

Expensive insufficient

By Dugg06 on 7/10/2017 at 11:24 PM. Helped by Dwayne.

Had truck towed to autonation ford Scottsdale. Before hand I pulled codes to see what was wrong. They received the truck called and mentioned one of the issues no others and said that would fix it,($800). Picked it up Ran for 50 miles same issue. Called them and was told " it started after we fixed it so bring it back and we'll dig deeper. Not only was the price 40% more than 4 other places I called but only took care of one issue when they new of others. Loving the diagnostic fee I guess. Needless to say I towed it somewhere else and 20 minutes after arrival they had the diagnosis. Save your time money and patience. There motto" if it starts nothings wrong".

Don't purchase an Extended Warranty from them

By Chino28 on 6/25/2017 at 5:17 AM. Helped by Christine.

If you purchase a vehicle from AutoNation Ford Scottsdale, I would not buy an Extended Warranty Vehicle Protection Plan through them. I purchased one and after 18 months, I traded the truck in on another truck. No problem until I tried to get a refund on my warranty. It has been 2 and a half months since I traded in the truck and I still have no refund, when I asked for a status on my check they couldn't tell me. I asked to have the General Manager call me as I live in the Prescott area. As of 4 days later, still no call from the General Manager. I left two messages for a Finance Manager to call me back but no response....They sure want your money when you are there buying a $35K truck plus warranty but don't ask for any help to get money back you are owed!!!!

AUTONATION FORD SCOTTSDALE TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE

By theproud1 on 6/12/2017 at 11:21 PM. Helped by Bastan Falsafi, Geoff Lewelling.

First of all, I have never once before in my life taken the time to write a review online or to this extent. That will say something regarding my feelings towards this dealership. My wife and I were in the market for a newer used car. Being a mechanic myself and having much to do with the car industry, we knew what we were looking for and what we wanted to pay. We came across a car that was taken on trade-in at the dealership. We liked the car and the previous owner had done a good job at maintaining the car. We worked with Steve Kohl as our salesman who did his best and we don't have any complaints for Steve. When it came time to sign the papers we met with Bastan Falsafi. It started as a pleasant conversation and him telling us about himself as a loving father, his kids, and his BMW. Then he started to get aggressive as he was telling us how it was such a bad idea we were putting such a high dollar amount for a down payment and he could not believe why we would do such a thing and thats when the harassing began. What needed to be a simple process of signing legal papers, Bastan harassed time after time in effort for us to purchase his countless insurances and warranties. As a younger married couple, he completely downgraded us on the fact of how we "were young" and that "as a father and friend" he would "take care of us", when his only effort was to sale his extended warranty. Then when we would politely decline countless times to his offer, he responded in a disrespectful and immature defense. THIS DID NOT HAPPEN JUST ONCE. We sat in his office for close to 2 hours listening to him argue and belittle us the entire time. Now, I work in sales and I understand the need to provide for a family, but the harassment left my wife in tears and feeling terrible regarding the transaction afterwords. THIS WAS NOT A TYPICAL SALES EFFORT. Very disappointed. Now, after countless reassurances that "Our loan was approved and all was official", we drove the car home and were so happy to be done with that "sweat box". Weeks pass by and we receive a voicemail from Geoff Lewelling, stating that our loan has not been approved and we will need to bring the car back. My poor wife needing the car for work and school begins to panic as we talk it over. We call back Geoff and he tells us that we needed to fax him in another drivers license copy because the person at the dealership only copied half of the license, and that my bank statement wasn't enough and I needed to send a 3rd pay stub! So as Mr. Lewelling requested, we sent back documents that the dealership should have confirmed weeks before in correspondence with the threat to take away the car. A week passes by, and we hear no word from Geoff or Autonation. Day after day we send calls, texts, emails to Geoff and the main front desk. (which by the way you will never be able to speak with an operator, nobody answers the phone unless you ask to speak to a salesman about buying a car $$$$). No response. Another week later, Geoff finally answers his phone and gives no respect or response to the fact we had left multiple calls, voicemails, emails, and texts and states that he will need "Another bank statement". Unreal. After calling credit unions we assumed autonation was working with, we found our loan and completed the process by ourselves. We will NEVER return to this dealership, and we will tell everyone we can to stay away and rethink this process with THIS dealership. Max and Hailey Hann

AutoNation Ford Scottsdale Worst Dealership in America

By FLD...Scottsdale AZ on 3/28/2017 at 8:13 PM. Helped by Geoff Lewelling, Darren Task, Barret Gunderson...good guy but left dealership.

FICO score 820 perfect credit approved by Ford Motor Credit Lease.... Stay Far Away from this Dealership...I never write reviews but I had to make an exception in this case! Leased a 2017 Explorer 12/15/2016 was contacted 12/30 and asked to read vin# off of the vehicle that they may have made an error on the lease agreement/paperwork. Was contacted 1/15/2017 and told I must come in and re-sign lease paper work. 1/22/2017 re-signed documentation. 2/18/2017 was told I must return the vehicle and they would return my $1,000 down payment and the 2 lease payments ($909) that I had made since delivery. In the mean time, I had made several calls to the General Manager and Director of Finance...no returned calls. Even the title clerk personally handed the GM my request to return a call. Returned my vehicle 2/23/2017 signed lease agreement rescission paperwork and they returned $1,909...drove the car for over two months and had 4,000 miles on the vehicle??? Finance Director said they did not get new doc's to Ford Credit in time and the residual and Ford Incentives had changed. Been calling Ford Motor Credit for over 3 weeks now because AutoNation Ford has not paid off my lease agreement....which has a vin# that is incorrect and for a vehicle that was returned 6 weeks ago! Ford keeps telling to speak to AutoNation Ford and they will not return my calls. Geoff Lewelling the Finance Director has told Ford Credit on 3 occasions that the check was sent and must have been lost....will cancel the check and re-send...yep the check is in the mail and my account is now showing 2 payments in arrears! My calls to the dealership are still going being ignored. Really wish I had seen the Dealer Rating score for this store before I subjected myself to this brain damage. .

By Canseco33 on 3/12/2017 at 10:12 PM. Helped by Charles, John, Chris.

I have never done business with a more dysfunctional group of people. They will tell you anything to get the deal done. Their managers know nothing and listen to reply instead of listening to understand. My sales man Charles did not know anything and worst of all never reached out. His managers, John and Chris, are not knowledgeable either. It's gotten so bad that I did the deal on thanksgiving and it's still not final. The finance manager Bastan is not helpful and will want to sell you an overpriced warranty. Please do not buy anything from them. I'm am still waiting for them to call me back with a logical explanation. Wonder if that will ever happen. Hey Darren Tasss can you call me please !!!!!
