Horrible Service & parts bought on Ebay

By Ella123b on 10/19/2018 at 5:23 AM. Helped by Ken- service manager.

Bought a used car and 30 hours later the check engine light came on. 2 weeks in the shop, poor communication and multiple phone calls with no return back, we find out that the parts ordered came from EBAY!! Only “genuine parts” for new cars that are under warranty by BMW so they cover the expense. Cutting corners to save the dealership! Service is so poor, I don’t know where to start? Lying to customers, resetting check engine lights, without doing the repair work, putting used car on lot without doing repairs that were needed after previous trade-in, no return phone calls, they keep passing you to the next person with no answers. This company does not represent The BMW service we have had in the past. All the preceding reviews before me, are all correct! I concur completely! Go to Naples or Sarasota BMW, or anywhere else, but here.

I would not recommend this dealer.

Lack of care

By Jonathanv on 8/30/2018 at 10:58 PM. Helped by David used car manager, troy sales manager.

Purchased my 08 m3 on 08/18/18. I drove from pompano beach, florida to pick up this vehicle. When we got there it was just transfered from another dealer so the check engine light was on. So they give us a rental for the week till the car is repaired. Next saturday the 25th we drive back up to get the car. The check engine light was still on but they were saying that the problem was fixed and they just forgot to clear the code. Thats the first lie, driving it home i take it to a bmw dealership i trust and found out it was vanos solenoid 1 causing the lack of power and cel on. Not only that but there was a ton of fluid leaking from the pinion seal. A tech at bmw apparently did an oil change on it and couldnt see that leak? Talk about lack of experience. Now i called 3 days straight and all i get is ill call you back which they never do. They were only polite till you sign that car contract. Stay away.

Failed to fix damaged done by the dealership to my vehicle

By Andrew M on 7/21/2018 at 9:02 PM. Helped by Pat menard.

I purchased a used Audi S6 from the dealership and everything went well until the cleanup done during final inspection. (After I had already signed financing papers and we owe list) They brought the car back from detailing and somebody had obviously dropped a door or equipment on the car. Denting the roof, A Pilar and putting marks in the surround of the front window). They said they would take care of it that it was the fault of the detailing dept and to add it to the we owe list. They also said that their paint and trim people were only available on Thursdays and that it would take a couple weeks to order the trim in. I was not able to schedule a time to bring the vehicle in right away due to my travel schedule and the process of ordering trim. When I did schedule and return to the dealership I was told it was past the 30 day we owe list disclaimer and I was out of luck that it would be on me to fix it. I demanded to see the used car manager which I did and reminded him that he had limited me to only Thursday’s and that it had not been 30 Thursday’s and that the damage had been added to the we owe disclaimer after I had signed it. He encouraged me to leave and took my information and promised to research and get back with me. To this day I have not heard back. I decided it was not worth my time to sue the dealership and sealed the $1100 in repairs myself. I would avoid the Sonic used car dept at all cost based on my experience.

I would not recommend this dealer.

BMW Fort Myers Service-Not so much

By elmer on 6/27/2018 at 10:00 PM. Helped by Service Manager.

Fact: car was serviced by BMW on April 27, 2018. Oil was changed, leaking coolant hoe was replaced, recall was repaired. Fact: April 30, 2018 the engine seized Fact: car was towed to BMW Fact: 4 days later I was notified of the seized engine. I was told there was metal shavings in the oil filter. I was told it could have been a faulty fuel injector or broken bearing rod. Fact: at no point in time did BMW ask me what happened during the initial breakdown. Fact: there was no metal shavings in the oil filter. The fuel injectors were in perfect working order. Bearing rod was not broken. Fact: fault codes were never generated by BMW or so they say. Fact: fault codes were generated by a second opinion certified mechanic. Fact: fault codes all pointed to water pump failure. Opinion: very convenient for BMW to not have run the fault codes considering they led directly to a system they worked on just 4 days earlier. Fact: I cannot prove BMW caused the water pump failure. Fact: I can prove that BMW severely misdiagnosed the issue. Fact: I can prove that BMW lied about metal shavings in my oil filter Opinion: BMW service department will never be trusted ever again. Based upon my inquiries around town I am not the only one with these feelings. Fact: BMW confronted with all of the above. Fact: Their response was we don’t care and it really does not matter about the metal flakes. Nor does it matter they misdiagnosed the issue.

Order takers

By Nobmw on 5/14/2018 at 11:30 PM. Helped by Other.

Made an appointment to test drive an x series. Sales person appeared to be in a rush to get me out the door. Despite indicating that I was very interested in the car and would be buying one in the next week never heard from him again (and he had my email). This is supposed to be a luxury brand? Can not imagine what servicing my vehicle would be like. Went with another brand and was treated much better .

Felt although I was taken advantage of as a woman

By LemonBenz on 5/7/2018 at 3:02 PM. Helped by Joe, Finance Manager and Ken Service Manager.

I purchased my vehicle on St. Patrick's Day. My first BMW. I had a very nice salesman, but took much longer then it should have to actually close the deal. They close at 3pm, but at 6pm I was just signing the paperwork. I opted for the protection package, which is thousands of dollars, and Joe picked up the phone to call back to tell them to apply the protection product. 20 minutes later my car is ready to take home....how was all of that applied so quickly I thought...Additionally, I had a vanity plate on my leased Mercedes that I wanted transferred to the BMW and I only needed a temporary or paper plate until I turned in the Mercedes...his response was "I am the DMV...I already have a plate on your BMW" Now that the Mercedes is turned in the Tax Collector said it will cost me $225 to transfer the plate, however the dealership could make that change for me with no charge....they refused. Oh, and the protection was never applied. When I asked two weeks later they offered to "re-apply" it but since they told me it takes 2 hours to complete the service I know it was never applied to begin with. I would say it's a bit of consumer fraud on that issue. BUYER BEWARE

Quality and worksnanship

By Abnel84 on 3/27/2018 at 5:26 PM. Helped by Robin and Michael.

Made an appointment to have my ABS module coded they failed to code my ABS module because it was faulty. Once BMW of Fort Myers found out it was one of their parts they called the next day up selling me on a good and working ABS pump confirmed after an ABS diagnostics was performed by another/certified shop. Not happy at all I will never return to this location.

NEVER BUY FROM THIS BMW DEALERSHIP!!!!

By GC on 3/22/2018 at 10:32 PM. Helped by Chris Covinsky.

This dealership is a disgrace! They took advantage of a young man (With a disability)who bought his first car on his own. The finance department is a joke ! The finance person whose name is Chris sat there and grilled my kid to purchase a ding and shield protection plan and a key protection plan for $900 ,Charge $800 for a pre delivery service charge on a car he purchased that has 103000 miles on it! And cost $20,000!!!!! The car went into service a few days after purchasing it for a gasoline leak ! (SO MUCH MORE !!) So they claim to do a hundred and one inspection??? It's very sad reading the contract that my son signed with BMW of Fort Myers. My kid came home to surprise me to show me what he's done on his own. when I read the contract I cannot tell you the sadness. The disappointment of what people have become today. lies robbing the Innocents with no remorse even for those that are handicap!!!! SHAME ON U!!

Took a delivery of a brand new car that is unsafe to drive.

By daxM3 on 1/23/2018 at 1:25 PM. Helped by Troy Arch.

I took a delivery of a brand new 2018 BMW M3 at BMW of Fort Myers from Troy Arch (Sales Manager) last January 13. On the way back to Jacksonville with my Mom the ride was extremely rough. The car would vibrate and bounce as if there is no suspension at all. We both got home with back pain and neck pain. I did some search on the internet and found out that rough ride can be caused by shipping blocks left on the suspensions. So I checked the suspension on my car and there they are large plastic blocks left in all 4 suspensions. This dealership negligibly did not remove the suspension blocks and gave me a car that is unsafe to drive for 370 miles and that could have endangered our lives and damaged the car. I took the car to our local BMW center to remove the suspension blocks and check for any damages on the suspension. I paid $150 for the service. I reached out to BMW of Fort Myers and they totally ignored my emails and phone calls. They don't want to admit their fault and won't even reimburse me for the $150 I spent to fix the car. This is very disrespectful to me as a customer. Ignoring their fault that may have caused serious damages to the car and possibly endangered lives is very unacceptable.

I would not recommend this dealer.

Great Dealer—Honest Deals

By FLmax on 10/28/2017 at 7:35 PM. Helped by Patrick Menard.

This was my 3rd new BMW ordered from this dealership. As usual everything went very smoothly. Reasonable price on new BMW and for my trade (tried BMW dealership in Naples on all 3 purchases but their offered trade-in allowances were always much lower). You will not find a more honest and professional salesperson than Patrick Menard; it’s worth going to this dealership just to be able to work with Patrick on the deal.

I would recommend this dealer.

Awful service ends with charging for services not provided.

By MadBMWOwner on 10/25/2017 at 4:28 PM. Helped by Jose Fonseca.

My experience with BMW of Fort Myers service was awful. My service contact/technician was Jose. I brought the car in on an evening when my brakes started squealing. I didn't have an appointment, so they did tell me they'd need to keep the car overnight most likely. I got picked up and everything was fine. I was given some good information regarding oil changes outside of the BMW dealership, and was pretty happy with how things were handled. The lobby looked nice, and Jose was very nice to me. I never heard from them on how much work needed to be done. The next day I missed a call at work which I assumed was Jose trying to get in touch with me to tell me how much things were and to get my permission to go forward. This is where the problems started - I had Jose's business card so I called his number on the card. Over the course of 2 hours I called 6 times, and texted as well (since he had originally texted me). I should have called the main line when he wasn't responding, but I didn't. At 5PM that day I finally got a call from them. Obviously my car wasn't going to be done. No biggie I can swing it for another day. My brakes needed to be done, I needed 2 new tires, and there was a possible oil leak. Only the brakes and tires had an estimate. Next day, and Jose is unreachable again. This is the last day I could deal with being without a car. He again required 6 calls and tons of texts to respond. He did text me me estimates and I told him to replace the tires and the brakes, nothing else. He told me it would be 2 more days before this was done, which brings our total to 5. This seemed a bit long for 2 tires and brakes, but when I asked for a loaner car they did provide that. A KIA soul? Whatever it's a car. I had the rental for the 2 days and I hadn't heard anything, but they rented it from the hertz across the street so I knew they had to turn it back in that day. I tried to contact Jose again unsuccessfully and just made the stupid assumption that my car would be finished in the 2 days they said it it would take. Of course it wasn't done. I was sitting in Jose's office for 10 minutes before someone came in and told me he was gone for the day and my car was not ready. They let me keep the rental. FINALLY on day 6 my car was done with it's MASSIVE (yes that's sarcastic) amount of service done. My total was $964.98 which included a $50 loyalty discount that was applied for (pick your reason from the many above). I was happy this nightmare was over, and that I had my car. It wasn't over. When I got back home I looked at my tires. Only one had been replaced. I grabbed the service invoice, and it very clearly showed 2 tires. The price was $105.60 for one tire, and the "total" was $211.20. It showed $2.50 for tire disposal fee, $5.00 total. $1.00 tire tax, $2.00 total. $4 wheel weights, $8 total for a grand total of $249.19, which added up with my bill properly. I called in to figure out what was going on and Jose said "No we only did one tire you didn't need both done" I said that the invoice, unless I'm reading it wrong (I'm not) clearly charged me for 2. He said "No, that's not right we only charged you for one" When I tried to walk him through the invoice he said he'd have to look it over and call me back. That was 3 hours ago, and I haven not gotten a call. All he has to do is look at an invoice. I am a person that goes to the dealer over a mechanic because I trust them. I trust that BMW would not allow shady practices like this, and I don't have to watch out for what I would normally have to watch out for at a mechanic. This is incorrect as far as BMW of Fort Myers is concerned. Do not trust them.

Parts Counter Service?

By Mike2017 on 6/24/2017 at 6:12 PM. Helped by Hipster with the man bun..

Walked out and will not be back. I took time out of my day to go to the dealership only to be ignored while the counter person answered call after call. At my business anyone that does not understand that the person on the phone can't hand you cash like the person in your store, wouldn't work there for long. Teach your people how to use a hold button.

positive experience

By mrcp_1975 on 4/19/2017 at 5:34 PM. Helped by Leslie Peterson.

This purchase posed a few challenges due to it being an out of state transaction initiated via web search. The overall experience was positive and I would recommend Leslie Peterson as a salesman. He stayed in touch after the sale and came through on all expectations via email and phone instead of in person. Lack of face to face time didn't detrimentally affect the transaction. I would definitely consider this dealership should I wish to purchase another CPO BMW.

Repairs

By Hondo11 on 4/3/2017 at 10:20 PM. Helped by Shelia.

I bought a 2013 335I. CPO. I purchased a road hazard /tire warranty also. The vehicle broke down after a few months. They were great about towing and fixing the problem at no charge. Then I was told I needed new tires. I asked for the CPO checklist and also about the tire warranty. No one will answer my questions. They sent me a estimate for replacing the tires but forgot to include the price of the actual tires. My next step is to go directly to Sonic corporate. Instead of pushing warranty items they should have put new tires on the vehicle.

First service

By Fstford302 on 1/12/2017 at 4:51 PM. Helped by Chad.

My brand new BMW was in for its first service yesterday (1/11). My service advisor was very nice and helpful. He said as I was leaving , I will have it washed and vacuumed for you too. When I picked my vehicle up it was not washed or vacuumed. There were black scuff marks on my drive side door opening left behind from the service department. This isn't a BIG deal because it wasn't there for "detailing" but when you are told that it would be washed and vacuumed you kinda expect that it will be . My car is far from dirty or messy as it is washed each Sunday. I did mention to the valet and he said," I'm very sorry and I can get it wash right now for you if you have time". I didn't so I passed on his offer. Hopefully next time it will be washed and vacuumed.
