Horrible Experience trying to buy a car

By yogibear32 on 9/23/2018 at 10:07 PM. Helped by PJ Roshan.

The worst experience I have ever had trying to buy a car. I went in to look at a 2014 BMW I3 on a Tuesday night. My sales guy Greg did a great job and i really liked the car. I went back to the dealership per my appointment on Friday afternoon with a Cashiers check for the full amount of the car. I signed the paperwork and let Greg know i would be back Saturday (next day) to pick up the car and drive it away. We made an appointment for 2pm. I arrived at 2pm on Saturday and Greg told me that there was a problem and the car that i bought and paid for the previous day was sold sometime between my Friday afternoon appointment and my Saturday afternoon appointment. As you can imagine i was steaming mad! I was taken into PJ Roshan's office, he is the General Manager of the dealership. This guy barely cared what had happened to me and tried to make it sound like it was my fault the car was sold out from under me. His exact statement was "why didn't you drive the car home yesterday". I did not drive it home the day i bought it and paid for it because i did not have a ride to the dealership that day and would never think in any scenario that a car that I paid for would be sold out from under me. He said he had some alternative options on cars but could NOT give me a better deal as they are a one price dealership under the AutoNation group. So, i get no car, not better deal on another car and am totally screwed. PJ had zero remorse and when i was given back my paperwork, he took it all out of the folder and didn't even want to give me the xxxx folder. I would have expected a follow up call from this so called General Manager but have received nothing. No call, no deal on another car, absolutely NOTHING. I am extremely disappointed in my dealings with this dealership and absolutely disappointed in the customer service from PJ Roshan. I wish anyone luck that has to deal with this pompous person who does not respect his customers. My guess is that the person who bought the car from under me was probably financing it versus my paying cash and the dealership would make more money off of the financing sale. I will take my money elsewhere and would hope that PJ Roshan learns how to treat a customer.

I would not recommend this dealer.

Never again

By rh9976 on 8/26/2018 at 2:44 PM. Helped by Paperwork Guy.

Ordered a X3 in April, finally came in August. Financing through BMW was arranged in advance. We made an appointment to pick the car up at 4. They kept us there for 4 (four hours)! Tried to sell us the Platinum warranty and maintenance plans and made all sorts of false claims (like we are going to need two complete brake jobs before 60,000 miles), and several other rediculous false claims. Paperwork guy got annoyed and rude and wouldn’t take no for an answer. Claimed 99.9% of people buy warranty and maintenance when the truth is that 11.2% do. This place ruined the fun of buying a new car. I recommend Peter Pan. I bought an M3 there and was in and out in 20 mins when I signed for the car.

Do not deal with this dealership.

By pallavi on 8/24/2018 at 6:58 PM. Helped by laura, navpreet,.

Dealership did not honor the price after credit check. they were using already high interest rate (MF of 0.00208) for my price and I have a credit score of 690+. After doing the credit check they said i will need to give more down payment and did not reduce the monthly price.

Don't waste your time or money on inferior service!!!!

By Claude L Mabry on 2/7/2018 at 5:11 PM. Helped by Ardavan Ghassemi.

Contacted the lot and inquired about the vehicle and then filed the finance application with Ardavan Ghassemi. The vehicle was actually in service during this portion. I finally received financing options after it was released from service, over a week later. I started to make the necessary financial preparations to have the vehicle shipped and insured. I kept the salesman aware of my actions and express my intent to purchase the vehicle. To my surprise, i checked back two business days later and the vehicle had been sold with not even a notification. So basically I got a hard inquiry on my credit report and a waste of my time for no reason. Do not waste your time with Ardavan Ghassemi, if you are sent to him online, call the dealership directly and get an informed associate to help you!

Service shop is an impersonal assembly line

By BMW999 on 11/22/2017 at 10:04 PM. Helped by Service tech. Amir Shah.

Service was impersonal and process driven. I would never go here except for service under warranty (in other words, when it is free). Mediocre communication. Arranged to pick up car after servicing in the evening. Instructed service tech to leave key under the drivers side floor mat (I have an extra). When we came to pick up, key wasn't there. Failed to follow instructions and then required me to go back a second time to pick up the key. And I found this out only after having to call three times. This dealership is operated for its own benefit, not those of its customers.

Rude, dismissive, and not informed

By BMW123 on 10/5/2017 at 3:27 AM. Helped by Parts representatives and service administrator (lady who answers phone and takes payment)..

I visited parts for a rear license plate mount and was told they were out of stock and that one would be ordered. I received no call by day 2, so I called and was told it was in. Turns out they ordered a front mount and actually had rear in stock the whole time. Multiple trips, pay, refund, pay... no apology no offer to make it right. Asked to speak with a manager, was told one would call, never did. Now my wife called b/c we received notification that airbag recall part is finally available. She was told we had to get on a list (we had already been on the list - letter said call dealer to schedule final remedy). My wife questioned regarding why we are. Wing put on list. She was asked "why are you being rude? Do you want to be on the list or not?" She asked for a manager and was transferred to vm. My wife called BMW corporate, who told her she should have been able to schedule. They referred her to Peter Pan BMW who answered immediately, orders the remedy part, and said they'd call when it was in to schedule what will be a 1 hour repair. No problem. It seems mountain view BMW does not care about providing customer service or representing the BMW brand. I highly recommend going to any of the other Bay Area dealers and not subjecting yourself to this disappointing establishment.

The service is shabby

By Jeffteeh on 10/4/2017 at 7:27 PM. Helped by John.

I bought 2017 X5 from them. Got 2 recalls in the first 9 months. That's fine. Their service line is always busy, that's fine too. Finally I managed to make an appointment. When I dropped my car, I was told it need 2 days to complete, that's fine too. They gave me a loan car, which is nissan rogue. I saw a Infinite SUV next to it. I asked for it. I was told I have to pay $10 per day to upgrade to it. What? I assumed, BMW X5 is similar class to Infinite SUV. Now I was told it is any upgrade !!!

NEVER BOUGHT NOR SERVICE YOUR CAR AT THIS PLACE!!

By F*bmw on 7/16/2017 at 4:57 AM. Helped by Hamid Tabrizi, Eric Loncarich.

NEVER BOUGHT NOR SERVICE YOUR CAR AT THIS PLACE!! I bought low milleage (24k) 2012 BMW X3 from here 10 months ago. Car looked great on the paper. Salesman convinced me the car went through all the necessary inspection and would run great. I have pretty much been driving it for another 3k miles since I got the car. Then, last week the engine just died by itself while we were lining up in the gas station. Because of this, unfortunately, we had to miss our good friend's wedding. Also, gotta pay $325 to get the car towed back to this place. It took one week for them to service the car. They said "the root cause" is the ignition coil and spark plug. They replaced them and the service advisor said that the car is in the tiptop shape now. Then, I picked up the car just yesterday and paid a ridiculous $1600 for NOTHING. Because, today, the car just lost its power again while I was driving around 20MPH. Thankfully, there was no car around and I managed to cruise the car to the side of the road. So, I had to get this car towed again for the second time in a week. I'm not sure what they'll do to the car now THE BOTTOM LINE IS THIS CAR REALLY PUTS ME AND MY FAMILY IN DANGER! What if this happens while I am driving on the highway? This could have been much worse. I thought getting this car will get me a safe experience for my family especially my 7-month old daughter. In general, I am very disappointed with all the experience that I went through. Salesman promised me that this car will run great. The service advisor said the car is fixed and everything is in great shape. But, what I got is totally the opposite. Just beware when you consider going to this place for ANYTHING really. They just want your money. Now, I have no confident with the car anymore and am always have the traumatic feeling while driving this car. At this point, I really just want to get rid of the car. I'm just hoping they can buy back the car and refund all the expenses to compensate for all the experiences that I went through...

A Complete embarrassment to the BMW name

By Ninerfan on 6/8/2017 at 9:55 PM. Helped by Service Employee.

Brought my car in to have it fixed with overheating. Here I am 2 months later to bring it back and they wont call back. I had to call back and they said they could see me in 7 more days. xxx????? It should have been fixed correctly the first time and have to wait 7 more days. They are a joke. All of these one star ratings completely make sense.

WORST DEALERSHIP in BAY- STAY AWAY - Lemon Law Kicked in

By swap2188 on 5/3/2017 at 10:21 PM. Helped by Daniel Martinez.

WORST DEALERSHIP in the ENTIRE Bay - Denied me Legal Documents after keeping my Car for 60 Days and not repairing it. I had to launch a Complaint with BMW of North America Under the CALIFORNIA LEMON LAW for a full repurchase of the Car., which they agreed to Buy back the Car full price. Briefly - BMW 535d(under BMW warranty) My Car Broke down and was towed to BMW of Mountain View where they could not figure out the issue for 3 weeks, changed fuel system thrice, took all fluid samples from car, Tampered it to a Level where I did not have any further Confidence in the Car. Did not follow-up ever, I had to call and file a complaint with BMW of NA which took a month to investigate. As part of the process(Lemon Law) I have 3-4 weeks to transfer the title to BMW NA and Complete the paperwork and handover the Car at a designated place which unfortunately happens to be BMW of Mountain view again. So, I showed up to collect the car, they Denied me the Legal Paperwork and kept saying Printer is Down(Seriously). They even denied to take calls from BMW of North America Officials. I had no choice but to take my license plates, belongings out of the car and Leave it with Dealership, they also denied a Loaner and I had to take a Uber back. I was waiting 3 hours for this. My Advisor - Daniel Martinez, was not only neglecting/ignoring me but also deliberately denying of any Legal Proof for Documents. I STRONGLY SUGGEST TO STAY AWAY FROM BMW OF MOUNTAIN VIEW.

I would not recommend this dealer.

Another NIGHTMARE at BMW Mt. View! STAY AWAY.

By Chris T. in Palo Alto on 4/15/2017 at 12:03 AM. Helped by Lan, Steve, Hamid.

Another NIGHTMARE at BMW Mt. View! STAY AWAY. Three weeks ago I showed up to buy an X3. The sales person pointed us to a pre-owned model. I test-drove it, we liked it. We said we'd buy it, walked with the sales rep to his desk and began writing up the sale. Another sales rep, noting our intent to buy the car, pulls an end-around on behalf of a different customer -- and reserves the car in the dealer computer system. So, as we're holding the keys in our hand and watching our sales rep punch in our purchase data, the sales manager Steve comes over and -- with the most round-about and convoluted explanation -- tells us we can't buy the car and asks for the keys. They simply refuse a sale. And they can't explain the process by which they've made that decision. After putting up a bit of resistance, we walked away, assuming BMW would help us find a replacement. That's when my disgust with this dealer went through the roof. They proposed a new car, $10k+ more expensive. They proved, after several conversations, incapable of finding even a remotely comparable offer, and they offered zero creativity to help me find a car. THESE GUYS ARE INCOMPETENT. STAY AWAY.

Great experience while buying a CPO

By emre on 1/9/2017 at 5:16 AM. Helped by Hamid Tabrizi, Christopher Volk, Jenifer Aguilera.

I have acquired a CPO from this dealership. While I had a bad experience 2 years ago at this place (being told by a sales person to check the website for information on leasing and not waste his time), this time I have been delighted by the service. On a Sunday, Hamid welcomed me and helped me thru the entire process of acquiring a CPO. Without even me asking, he asked one of their talented lead Genius, Chris, to take care of my test drive. Chris is an experienced product specialist who has been able to provide answers to all of my questions. As a bonus, I have been helped by one of their new Genius, Jenifer, to drive my rental car home while she drove my new car Good experience, good customer service, what else can we expect?

Very difficult to schedule service

By BMW driver since '93 on 11/30/2016 at 1:04 AM. Helped by Eric and Joanne.

I have purchased two cars from this dealer, and am currently leasing one. I have found them to be very competent in the past, but over the past year I have noticed the service center does not pick up the phone, and my repeated messages are rarely returned. Since I travel 70% internationally for work, and it is so hard to schedule service with them, I just ran over my warranty expiry date on a purchased 328i by two weeks. And of course, they wont help me out on the warranty work that needs to be performed. I have been calling them off and on when in the US for 4 months. I will never buy another car from these guys.

Hung up during the phone call

By sji820 on 10/12/2016 at 10:34 PM. Helped by Joe Wahler.

My experience was with Joe Wahler. I asked how he did the math to come up with monthly payments, but he hung up on me after saying that I am not understanding how a car lease works.I have talked to several car salesmen before, but he's the first one that actually bothered me enough to write a detailed review. I was looking for a 24 month lease on a BMW 228i. I saw an offer online that asked for $3000 in down payment and $339 a month, which roughly equals $14k in net payment. When he got back to me, he asked for a $3000 down payment with $750 monthly fees, which roughly $21k. When asked how 33 months cost only $14k while his offer of 24 months costs $21k, he proceeded to say that it's because the online offer is for a base model and that the vehicle of his offer has options on them. He sent me a 33 month plan for his vehicle, which came out to be around $22.6k. Unless he's offering $177/month for those nine months of the lease term only, I can't see this as nothing but a scheme to cheat customers out of money. It seems like people have had better experience purchasing the car, but leasing vehicles here is a nightmare.

I would not recommend this dealer.
