Sorriest Dealership Ever

By P B Smith on 1/23/2018 at 5:38 PM. Helped by Jackie McElwaney - corporate office of owners.

My son paid cash for his car and it was on a wrecker within 6-8 hours of the purchase. No follow-up. From the bottom (sales) to the top (Sons Dealerships), completely don't give a xxxx! BMW is the only car my husband and son have ever owned. BMW of North America should be embarrassed and ashamed of the crap that has taken place with this purchase.

I would not recommend this dealer.

Service expectation was exceeded!

By Jayplayc6z on 1/4/2018 at 3:44 PM.

Be sure to read this review - I run a high end repair shop in Peachtree City. There is always a chance that we need the OEM to step in and resolve a problem and it leaves us very helpless as you can imagine. We do business with this dealer on a daily basis and we are treated like family. You would be hard pressed to find anyone to stand up to the challenge of resolving a problem and caring for a customer as well as these guys do. Bryce oversees all the service needs and personally handles our problems when needed with service 2nd to none! You can count on everyone from the GM to the porters to take care of your needs. Few people take time out of their busy day to say "thank you" these days but I rely on you guys often to take care of my customers and I appreciate all you do. Thank you gentlemen! - Jason

Big mistake, run don't walk away from this dealership

By Dr D on 1/23/2017 at 1:29 PM. Helped by I wish to Leave names out but it really doesn't matter, the dealership as a whole is to blame.

I traded a truck for a certified 2013 Bmw 328 convertible. It was certified which means that there service department went through the car and everything was as if it were new. What a joke. To me certified by them means absolutely nothing, and it apparently means nothing to North American BMW eaither. The day after I picked it up I had nothing but issue after issue. It went into the service dept several times. I have to say that I ended up in the Bmw dealership in Macon to have so many of the issues fixed because the service department in union city should be shut down. One of the issues was they put the wrong tire on the front of the car causing all sorts of shaking and alignment issues. I recently scraped the front air spoiler when parking and brought it into a reputable body shop where he showed me that the car was previously in a shop because the whole front air dame had been bonded over and repainted. I had made several complaints to the dealership as well as Bmw of North America, they advised Bmw of Macon for repairs. I can't tell you how sorry BMW has become. No dealership would accept me trading in the car with out loosing ten grand. I finally over the weekend had enough of this car which continued to have issues and it has been traded in to a local dealership. I am free of the worst car I have ever driven in my 58 years. This was not my first BMW in fact of the last 15 years if was my 5th. But it certainly will be my last. Avoid like the plague BMW of union city, especially there used cars and there service dept. one last note I was told by my service representative that when you make an appointment to have service done it's understood that you will not get your car into the service bay for 24 hours, that is the kind of mismanagement and stupidity that is running rampant within that dealership. As the tiltle goes don't walk away from union city BMW run away, and thank the lord above you don't make the same mistake I did by buying a certified used BMW.

I would not recommend this dealer.

Had some reservation about taking my wife 5 series in for service. I should have stuck to my gut. BMW service should be perfection, this dealership is nowhere near excellent.

Bad BMW customer service!

By SandyWorkman on 8/2/2016 at 9:53 PM.

needed rear view mirror checked (was coming loose). Service person took a brief glance (didn't even get in car) & said I would have to have new windshield replaced...well no, nothing wrong there. Not even advice to repair....only said....it would be very expensive. Not the usual BMW service!!! Even called later & after numerous calls finally talked w/someone who still didn't have a clue! He even said they don't repair BMW mirrors.....well where the heck do you take BMWs if the dealership won't or don't know what to do. Won't be buying anymore BMWs (or services) from this dealership!

I would not recommend this dealer.

They SHAME the BMW Name & Brand

By BMW Dr on 7/19/2016 at 2:00 PM. Helped by Kourtney Batson, Ru Harris, Richi Whitlow.

I found a great 1 owner, clean Carfax BMW 328 with 32,000 miles. I had been in contact with Kourtney for the past 2 weeks, and even communicated via email with the sales manager and an account manager. We agreed on a price. I informed Kourtney several times that I would be making the 300 mile trek from Charlotte, NC. I rented a car one way with the intentions of coming back to NC with my like new, pre owned BMW straight from the BMW dealership. I had a check in hand. All "T's" were crossed and all "I's" were dotted. I observed the car before I let her know that I had made it. Do you know that this BEAUTIFUL car had a large scrape on the driver's side of the front bumper. Even worse, this car had a series of significant dents along both doors on the driver's side and a POORLY repaired driver's side fender. The car was POORLY resprayed with paint. It looked liked the previous owner may have run up on a fire hydrant or something. The pictures and description were misleading, with NO mention of this damage that anyone in the world could see. Despite the immaculate Carfax, this vehicle has CLEARLY been wrecked and still in desperate need of repairs. How and WHY would they be allowed to sell this at the BMW dealership in it's current condition? I would expect this from a buy here, pay here lot. I used the restroom and walked through the ENTIRE dealership without a single acknowledgement. This is a BMW dealer. We walked past Kourtney, who looked absolutely NOTHING like the eloquent picture of her in her email signature. She was on the computer playing and did not greet us. After calling her to alert her that I was present, she shows up with a salesman who looked like he was just out of high school on his 3rd day on the job and tries to pawn him off on me. I stopped her dead in her tracks and asked why she did not tell me the car was wrecked before I made arrangements to drive to Atlanta. This lady says that she never looked at the car, and stuck with that as if it was a valid excuse. Seriously? Needless to say, that I ripped into her...I mean who on Earth wants to deal with Atlanta traffic for fun? I called from my cell phone before she made it in and asked to speak with a sales manager. I got his voicemail. I let him know that I was upset. I have received NO apologies, NO emails from the 2 guys AND Kourtney who were previously bombarding me with emails. Today, the cars.com price is about $500 cheaper. Do NOT deal with this POORLY managed dealership. As soon as you pull into the parking lot, you will know that this is a horrible place. What BMW dealership tries to sell a seriously dented up car with a clean carfax? A crooked and poorly managed dealer, that's who.

I would not recommend this dealer.

Parts department nonsense

By fowvay on 7/2/2016 at 3:45 PM. Helped by unknown telephone staffer in the parts department..

This review is related to the walk-up counter at their parts department. This place is nothing but a den of thieves. BMW sets a suggested price for each part that they sell and BMW of South Atlanta likes to add 30% to 50% on top of that MSRP. This is simply ridiculous. It screws the people who are already in a bind and have to purchase items in an emergency. On saturday I needed to buy a thermostat for my car. The part number for the item has a retail price of $62.38. This is already a grossly overpriced part which can be purchased on-line for $22 if you have time to wait. BMW of South Atlanta charges a whopping $91.07 for this $62 part. I can think of no reason for this thievery except blatant greed by the people that run this facility. This review is written to simply give a heads-up to people who need BMW parts. Don't do a walk-up purchase at this facility. They'll rob you blind. They do offer an on-line discount purchase program that does offer lower prices but you have to plan ahead because these orders aren't always available the same day they're ordered. Mail-order is still the preferred manner to purchase parts it seems.

I would not recommend this dealer.

Bait & Switch - Buyer Beware

By ToddGinATL on 6/11/2016 at 6:31 PM.

If you want to know why people hate car dealers, look no further than this place. They have all the stereotypes: bait & switch tactics, dishonest salespeople, arrogant general manager, etc. I test drove a certified vehicle on Wednesday, but it was a little over my budget and I had other cars to choose from in my price range. The salesman (Vince George), however, continued to push me to come back to the dealer and see the car again and agreed to meet my budget price. He confirmed the purchase price by email on Friday night and said the car would be ready for purchase and pick-up on Saturday morning. Since this dealer is an hour away, I called at 9am on Saturday to ensure that everything was ready. Vince replied, "yes we're ready for you." When I arrive at the dealership an hour later... Vince's opening line is, "we have a bit of an issue... someone else bought your car this morning...but I'm sure we can find you something else you'll like." You're kidding, right? This is a joke? The dealership opened less than an hour ago...and someone came in and purchased it in the last few minutes and is now gone. You emailed me a confirmation after-hours last night and just told me an hour ago the car was detailed and ready to drive away. Obviously, I didn't care for this conversation, so out comes Darren the sales manager and Jason the general manager. They say, "sorry, this is how things are in the used car market. We sold this car 2 days ago (Vince just told me they sold it this morning... so they can't even get their lies straight). But we've got other vehicles you should consider." I ask them, "is this seriously how you do business? Classic bait & switch?" Jason laughs and finds the situation amusing. Needless to say, the conversation went a bit south at this point. I had no interest in dealing with unethical people like this and left immediately. For those in the market... BEWARE of this dealer! Read the other reviews before you waste your time and energy making the trip down here. Stick to more reputable, authorized dealers.

I would not recommend this dealer.

Steve - General Manager....Appreciates his customers!

By Ceciljackson99 on 4/1/2016 at 9:20 PM.

I initially had a service appointment problem....Steve, General Manager, contacted me directly to assist me with my concerns. I was really appreciative, because most GMs probably would not have gone the extra mile to listen to my concerns and take corrective actions. Two thumbs up for great customer service.

Excellent Customer Service

By Lali on 1/4/2016 at 4:39 PM. Helped by Denise and a sales and service staff member who's names I do not know.

I had a license plate for the front of the car that I needed help installing. A very kind young man in the sales department took the car to the service department and asked them to install it for me. I wish I knew their names but both he and the service department went above and beyond to help. Denise was exceptionally helpful in explaining the functions of my X1. She was patient and made the functions very easy to use and remember. I left the dealership with a great sense of satisfaction and appreciation.

Great Experience

By Happy Driver on 12/23/2015 at 2:08 AM. Helped by Darryl Jefferson.

BMW of South Atlanta excelled in customer satisfaction. I'm very particular about spending my hard earned money and refuse to make impulsive decisions. Justin Cooper was very patient with me. He and Juan Martinez described details regarding the vehicle purchasing process which led me to choosing my 328i, which I love. Denise Lopez explained all details regarding the functionality of the vehicle which has been significantly helpful. Justin, Denise, and Darryl even made arrangements for delivery to my home in Columbus, GA more than 100 miles away. I would definitely do business with this dealership again in the future.

I could not be any more pleased with the experience I had at

By HIBBLER on 12/10/2015 at 2:36 PM. Helped by Sales - George Johnson; Genius - Denise Lopez.

I could not be any more pleased with the experience I had at BMW South Atlanta! I recently purchased a 2016 328i, my 3rd BMW, but my very first “new” one. So many new features, technology, bells and whistles. I loved the car but was totally clueless on how to operate some of the gadgets. The BMW Genius who helped me with understanding how to operate my "smart" car, Denise Lopez, was absolutely amazing! She was very informed, personable, and helped to make the entire process all worth it. She patiently helped me get set up and answered all hundred of my questions. Overall, the entire dealership was knowledgeable and made my experience pleasant. Yes…she is a genius and I will be back to buy my next car here! Thank you Denise...you rock totally!!!
