Bait and Switch Attempt.

By MarioJ1 on 8/5/2019 at 10:51 PM. Helped by Corey H., Anthony R., Scott C..

I read the poor reviews on this dealer and took notice but decided to proceed with caution. I requested a quote on a 2019 X5 lease, Blue on Coffee, with an advertised mileage of 6 miles. The initial quote was an exorbitant one. I held out and ignored their pressure tactics, and I subsequently shared quotes from other dealers offering more competitive quotes on similar and higher priced X5s. Eventually their quote was lowered to a very competitive one, just beating the other ones I shared. The pressured continued via email. Then, I received a follow up email from a Sales Manager and then the General Sales Manager (GSM). As the former two had been wishy-washy in answering my questions (e.g., money factor and residual value), I honed in my negation with the GSM. A final negotiation price and lease term was ironed out and I sent him a final email stating, "I am a serious buyer and I am ready to take delivery of the vehicle as long as the terms outlined in the quote are the same once I am there to close the deal." There was no response. I waited another day, and the pressure continued, "When are you picking up the vehicle?" One last search of SoCal BMW dealers yielded no hits on this specific X5, Phyton Blue on Coffee interior. Despite my gut feeling, I drove down to close the deal, driving an hour and a half each way. The original sales person was put to close the deal with me. All went well for a couple of hours. I completed the process with him and was shuffled off to the Finance person for the second round of negotiations. The first document I was given to sign was the odometer agreement, which read, 464 miles. I informed the Finance manager I had negotiated on a 6 mile vehicle and showed him the three, 3, quotes offered by Corey, Anthony, and Scott in which the offer was on a 6 mile vehicle. The finance manager politely went to check on the mileage and sent the sales person back to the office. Corey apologized and claimed ignorance. He later proceeded to sell me on why this was still a great deal and insisted I overlook the "error". I tore the contract and advised him that it was unlikely three, 3, sales people, including the GSM would have missed this "error". At minimum all three were incompetent. At worst, one or all three had tried to pull a bait and switch deal. The sales person was visibly upset and pleaded with me. I am sure he was losing on a nice commission. But there was still time to make it right. He calls the GSM and his response was to offer a $100 store credit. No apology. No explanation. I left. Buyer be ware is correct with these three individuals. Read all you are signing. Or, do not go to this dealer.

I would not recommend this dealer.

By Vanessa1994! on 7/19/2019 at 6:47 PM. Helped by Anthony Razzouki.

Tried working with the sales manager RazzoukiA@autonation.com on getting a car, worst experience ever. Didn’t want to help me AT ALL unless it benefited HIM and nobody else. I needed a little help on price and I was ready to buy!!! NOPE DIDN’T CARE!!!! DIDN’T WANT TO HELP!!! DIDN’T even want to try!!!! Not sure how u made to a SALES MANAGEMENT POSITION but if I was the owner I sure as xxxx would think twice about keeping u there. I will never do business with these people again and urge everybody else to stay away!!! They don’t care about customer service....just taking the customers money!!!

Deal Gone Bad!

By Luecadia Local on 2/27/2019 at 1:41 AM. Helped by Erick, Larry and whoever the General Manager is!.

Pretty devastating experience at BMW of Vista for my wife and I. I'm sure the response will be it was a misunderstanding but this was no misunderstanding, I assure you. On 02/16/19 we stopped by BMW of Vista to look at cars, specifically the SUV styles. After test driving an X1 we found a certified pre-owned X5 and test drove that. We liked it so much that, Larry the sales associate, allowed us to take it home for a night. At that time Larry said he would go into the website and remove it so it would not be shown online for other potential buyers. When we brought the car back we did not have a lot of time so he gave us a couple of options, we could start the process now or come back. We chose the option to start the process now and finish up two days later on Wednesday. We leave so we could clean out our trade in. Fast forward to Wednesday mid afternoon, my wife, shows up to finish the deal and the car is missing? Excuse me, the car is missing? As they're trying to find the car my wife over hears that the GM, yes the General Manager of both BMW of Vista and Encinitas has purchased it for his daughter. Are you kidding me? The GM comes in and takes the car for his daughter? This should not have happened! Where was the communication between Erik (the fiance manager) and the sales associate? Some may say buy another X5... Well, this was the car we wanted- price was right, it was customized to our liking, rims, interior and had the 3rd row option that we really liked! Currently they're trying to find us a car.... it's not that easy, which is what makes this so frustrating! so we are not sure if we will take this beyond a yelp review. Ultimately, I would like to update this review with something positive, time will tell! Sorry BMW of Vista/Encinitas to put you on blast but this was absolutely ridiculous! Called and left a message for the GM... No call back!

I would not recommend this dealer.

By Far The Best Dealer Service Experience I've Had

By poppa boyle on 12/14/2018 at 5:53 PM. Helped by Kathy Kleine-Roxas.

See here's the thing: When I come in with an issue, I want it resolved as quickly as possible. I don't need a monogrammed hankie. Vista understands this. There was no one in the waiting room - that is a good sign. It means they were taken care of. I was only there for 15 minutes, and in that time frame my issues were understood, I got a loaner and was on my way back to my life. Even though I was there a short time, those individuals I interacted with - including Kathy my service manager - were friendly and engaging. My repair required parts from the east coast, but they got my vehicle fixed a day early to my delight. All in all, a great experience!

I would recommend this dealer.

Disrespect and poor care of customer

By Lisa Milligan on 1/4/2018 at 6:04 PM. Helped by Maya, Jaryd, and 5 other men (and one woman) that I spoke to on the phone. Just about everyone in the dealorship! e..

I have just moved from Monterey, CA, to Oceanside, CA. I purchased my BMW Z3 Roadster in Monterey. I assumed that all BMW Dealerships gave the same exquisite attention to it's customers as I received in Monterey. I was SHOCKED when I was treated so disrespectfully, and poorly by the BMW Dealership in Vista. I am used to being treated like a high-end car buyer. Not so in Vista. I was under the impression that all dealerships that sell and service high-end cars treated their customers in a respectful way. I was told by Maya, the new General Manager in Vista, that he was "fixing" his staff and dealing with the disrespectful comments, did-organization, and poor service his dealership was showing customers. A new General Manager needs to realize that this respect needs to come from the TOP! I called to cancel my appointment with him, because I was ill, and asked that he call me back to reschedule. I called and left that same message with 4 different people, and 6 hours later, he had still not returned my call. He told me that he had received my message, when I called and he was the person that picked up the phone. In talking to him, I was spoken over, and everything that I said was negated or an excuse was made. I felt like I was not heard at all. I certainly was not treated like a BMW owner! Bottom line: when you own a high-end BMW, you should be treated like the car that you have purchased. Don't go to BMW of Vista! I felt like, and was treated like, I had just driven a beat up old used cheap car to a used car lot. I will be driving to another city for the care of my BMW!

I would not recommend this dealer.

Do not waste your time, no on there to sell cars

By Raj on 7/10/2017 at 6:34 PM. Helped by Eddie and Tim.

Do not waste your time to visit this place. No one is there to sell cars for you. This fells like deserted place and ready to close any time. When asked to match price from another Autonation dealership, they tell you to go there. So disappointing. Save your time and take your business somewhere else.

Service Department

By SDBeemer on 4/3/2017 at 4:13 PM. Helped by Jaryd Pavlo.

Jaryd Pavlo was my service advisor and was very honest, knowledgeable, and easy to work with. Took my car in because my brake and ABS lights came on. Service department replaced a part, but the brake and ABS light was still on. Service department investigated deeper and diagnosed the issue as wires being damaged by rodents. Bad new is that damages due to rodents chewing on wires is not covered under the lease warranty. The cost to fix the problem was estimated to be $650. Jaryd gave me my options and I decided to take my car to another mechanic for a 2nd opinion.

I would recommend this dealer.

I appreciate his honestly and willingness to discuss my options moving forward. He is genuine and someone I plan to go back to every time from now on!

Dealer tried to charge me $3,200 for a $100 repair.

By BMWinSD858 on 2/25/2016 at 9:56 AM. Helped by bill amodeo.

I used to be in the car business and I know when someone is not being honest with me. BMW Vista (service adviser = BILL AMODEO) tried to charge me $3,253.00 for a repair that ended up costing me only $100 at an independent shop. The cliff notes are that when I took my car in for a check engine light, the dealer simply ran the code and then seemed to say: "What can we justify charging?" Instead of taking time to diagnose the issue (which is why I thought I was paying $150 in the first place...for a REAL diagnosis), Bill Amodeo obviously was just trying to hit his service sales numbers and quoted me $3,253.00 for plugs/coils/injectors. That's a lot of money for a very easy job and it turned out it wasn't even the problem. I ended up getting a second opinion from an independent shop. Turns out the coils/plugs/injectors weren't even the issue. It was an O2 sensor and the diverter valves. A $330 repair that my aftermarket warranty covered costing me only $100 out of pocket (my deductible). But it wasn't just the quote that irritated me. Bill Amodeo and his manager Vince went out of their way to try to screw me. You see, when Bill first told me the quote I knew he was full of it because I already had an idea what was wrong. I told him that there was no way I would pay for that repair and I also didn't want him to submit that quote to the aftermarket warranty company because they wouldn't cover all new injectors/plugs/coils if only one was bad. It would be a waste of time and I was on good terms with my warranty company. I didn't want to soak them for a big repair and have them less likely to cover me in the future. Bill PROMISED ME on the phone he would revise the repair and send it to the warranty company for authorization. He never called me back and simply submitted the full quote to my warranty company. Dishonest! Bill called me two days later and told me the warranty denied the repair. This surprised me because I had never had a claim denied before. I then asked him what he submitted and HE STUTTERED AND DANCED AROUND THE QUESTION. I asked him again directly and he told me that he submitted exactly what I told him not to submit. He completely ignored my request. Bill then tried to sell me on the repair. It's ridiculous. A desperate attempt to bill a customer an outrageous amount for a repair that wouldn't have even solved the problem. After I picked up the car, the service manager VINCE called me and tried to spin the situation back on me! He accused me of being dishonest about the warranty claim. Me? Dishonest? You are the one who tried to bill a $3,200 repair to both me AND my warranty company when the real problem ended up only costing me $100. You tried to fleece me and my warranty company out of $3,200 and I'm dishonest? I'm absolutely disgusted with BMW Vista. I will be writing to BMW North America about my experience and I hope they are disciplined. Looking for service on your BMW? Take your car elsewhere. These guys are not to be trusted.

Pushy, disrespectful and dissipative

By DealersRated on 12/30/2014 at 12:29 AM. Helped by Sean & Craig (managers).

They are pushy, disrespectful and dissipative - watch out as they are not knowledge about the product and just want to make a sale. Customer Service is not something they know about and just want to get you in a car and get you out - worst experience!
