Trick or Treat for Trucks

I went in on Halloween to look into trading in my pickup truck for a newer model. The staff was friendly and helpful. I drove home in a beautiful, brand new Chevy Silverado! All treats and no tricks on this Halloween!

what a wonderful experience buying this new (used)car, from walking in the door and meeting Jay who brought me to Bob who sat with me, asked a few questions and then showed me the car of my dreams. After driving the car, I knew I wanted it and I think Bob recognized just how impressed I was with the car, we sat and talked price , finished the sale and Bob spent a lot of time explaining every option available for this car, things to watch for, service options, etc. I left there feeling completely comfortable buying this car and felt like I had someone looking out for my needs at Bertera. Since owning this car, I have been completely satisfied with the car, it was detailed to look like a car that just left the showroom, it had gas in the tank and I also have to add that my salesman has called me every day since the sale to be sure I was satisfied and had no problems. This had been the easyest and best experience buying a car in my life- Thank You Bob

Incompetence and dishonesty

I used usaa car buying service and had a blank check in hand while I went looking for a very specific car. I'm called by Haley who tells me they have the car on the lot for 31700. I drive 2.5 hours to see it ( I made it clear I can't make set appointment times with my job and travel distance). Then I'm told the actual price is several thousand more because I'm not a teacher and don't qualify for some other rebates. I should have recognized then their dishonesty and walked away-I own that. I put money down and make it clear this is to hold the car. I have usaa w/ low interest I don't need to put a deposit down. Then on the day I'm supposed to bring my trade in, I can't because Taylor who was less than professional tells me I can't come in on Friday but Saturday because of her schedule. (No one else at the dealership can help on Friday). I ask over and over what paperwork she needs. I show up Saturday with the required documents and oh, she didn't realize I needed additional paperwork. So now I have to leave and sign via overnight mail. Again made it clear that the money I put down was to be returned but when the bank called me to say there is a discrepancy, Vinnie assured the bank they were right and I was putting that money down. (I have a witness who came with me that Saturday). So now I end up loosing a few hundred dollars that I would have made on interest through my financials. On top of all this, they forgot to have someone scheduled to register the car here in NH for Thursday. Well, town hall is closed fri-sun and I'm away mon-wed. I called this morning, no call back. My advice, take your business elsewhere. You deserve attentive and good customer service, especially us soldiers.

2014 Grand Cherokee - Excellent!

I was in the market for a newer Grand Cherokee and had been looking for a couple of months when I found the color and feature package I wanted located at Bertera Chevrolet in Palmer, MA. I called the dealership at about 7:30 p.m. Wednesday evening and had some specific questions concerning the Jeep I was looking at and, lucky for me, I got “Zack” on the phone who called me back 15 minutes later just as they were getting ready to close. Zack got the information that I needed back to me very quickly which was important to me seeing as how I was an hour and a half away from their location. The following day, I drove out to the dealership where I met with Zack and purchased the Jeep I inquired about. I told Zack that one of the biggest reasons I drove the 1 – 1/2 hours out to Bertera was because of how Zack was so prompt getting back to me and answered all my questions. At the end of our meeting, I told Zack about how I was also a person in the same industry he was with regard to being a former Sales Manager at a very large auto dealer outside of Boston. I like to conduct myself the same way that the people at Bertera do and a big reason I purchased from them, they were not only very professional, but also took care of every aspect of the sale from financing to my driving off the lot with the vehicle that same very day; and they even offered me lunch!! We needed a car asap

We are a One car family with an unrepairable car on our hand and needed to change that quick. We were referred to Bertera and AJ by our niece. AJ was really wonderful he listened to all of our needs and concerns and with in no time found us the best car to suit our needs and fit our family nicely. Everyone that we dealt with while there was wonderful and personable which made our experience buying our second ever dealership car worth the trip from Chicopee to Palmer. From bad to worse in less than a week

I sent this email yesterday morning with no response and still have not heard from the Service Department with any estimate of when my car would be ready so have chosen to post it as well. "I purchased a 2014 Jeep Patriot exactly one week ago. Sadly, it is currently in your shop since 20 minutes after driving away I noticed both a chip in the windshield and an odd noise/vibration under the front passenger tire. I reached out to my salesman immediately (who said he had not noticed a chip) and was referred to call Service. When I spoke to the service department about the windshield, I was told that since it had passed MA inspection (being smaller than an inch) that essentially it was my problem and I could go through my insurance to replace it. Do you seriously believe the best customer service, after someone spends over $15,000, is to tell them their first order of business for them with their new car is to file an insurance claim for a windshield & to get it taken care of on their own? Had it NOT been raining and I noticed the chip when I first got in the car I would not have even driven it off the lot. This is very upsetting to me. I strongly suggest that, while my car is there receiving the service described below that you address this- by either sealing the chip or replacing the windshield. Anyway, I was able to book an appointment nearly a week out and I utilized the shuttle service to get to work after dropping it off. When the service department called, it was to inform me that I was correct, it was a bad wheel bearing-- one that had already been replaced but with a "faulty component". They assured me it would be taken care of "under warranty" which by all means it should be. I was then called about an hour later stating that something happened with the replacement part and they needed yet another one. This would mean I would be given a loaner car since it would not be completed in the same day. Now, I would much rather have a working part so of course, I did not mind; but then to be told the shuttle service ended at 2pm and I needed to find a way back to the dealership for the loaner car & suggesting I ask a coworker for a ride? That is unacceptable and I let the nice gentleman know that I was stranded at work because of it. He did call me back shortly after to say he had arranged for an office person to pick me up, but still, to worry that I may not even have a way to get back to your office after being told I was all set with a shuttle was unnerving. Please be aware, that all of this is after the inconvenience of Bertera's finance office twice sending over incorrect information on the sales agreement to my credit union- first listing the purchase price without deducting my downpayment and then forgetting to add the cosigner; which caused a delay in their ability to send out the payment- dragging the purchase out over an additional weekend. Everything else aside, AJ is a very courteous and attentive salesman - when I called in a panic over something trivial he handled it quickly and professionally (as did Jeoff in Service), and for that I am grateful, but nearly every other facet of this experience has been negative. I am not blaming him for these problems and have copied him on this email just to make him aware of everything and again, to mention that he was great to work with. I do not buy cars often, nor have I ever bought a car as expensive and (to me) high-end, as this. This was a decision and purchase that took a long time to make and one I had been very excited about. Sadly, it has not been a positive experience. I know my $15k Jeep is barely a drop in the bucket to you guys, but to me, it was a monumental purchase that I had looked forward to for a long time. Now I am sitting at work with a Mardi Gras themed purple courtesy van outside instead of the car I drove home last week." I wrote this email to avoid posting a negative review but since I have not been contacted, I felt the need to share this experience.
