Great Dealer Experience

By SamLiz19 on 6/17/2019 at 4:27 PM. Helped by Bill Earnest, Marina Magnabosco.

I wanted to thank everyone involved at Bill Jacobs BWM and MINI for our latest car experience. After a great lease of a 2016 BMW X1, we decided to move to the MINI Countryman. Given our superb relationship with Bill Jacobs Dealership, this made our decision very easy. They made the transition very easy for us with the great people that work there.

I would recommend this dealer.

Amazing experience!

By Revolcykl on 10/7/2018 at 3:54 AM. Helped by Rachel.

Everyone was extremely friendly and willing to help in anyway they could. I went in just to see what I needed to do to get into a mini. I was expecting to have to save up more money or wait another year because the car I was in was only a year old, but they looked at my situation from every angle and went above and beyond to fine exactly what I was looking for. Within a week I was in my mini and I LOVE it! Thank you Bill Jacobs Mini!!!

I was sold a lemon

By Cdg on 5/24/2018 at 5:28 PM. Helped by Aldo.

Aldo lied over and over again. He is the worst sales person. I purchased a used car that was supposedly inspected in good condition. Wrong! A month after having the car things started going wrong took the car back Aldo just looked at me like i was dumb. So I said can you fix it he said no you don't want my guys looking at it they dont know anything about this car. Now i purchsed a 2 year warranty which was supposed to be be included with the price of the car but it was added to the price of the car instead. Now i had to take my car and warranty to a GMC where my car died and would not start or take a jump. This expensive warrenty only paid for the altanater which i had to pay &100 deductible for. All the other repairs were not covered under this $2500 warranty I'm paying for. All the while Aldo is acting as if he is upset and wants to help but he doesn't help at all. Ha asked us not to write a bad review. I spent $405 to get my car fixed that should have been inspected before we bought the car. Aldos excuse was he's not a mechanic. Never again will Igo back there

Tramatic Customer Service

By Mimil on 4/18/2018 at 2:33 PM. Helped by Two men, one over the phone.

If I can give Zero stars I would! I've been in the market for a vehicle for a few months now. I recently moved to Naperville, literally I live down the street from this location and I went to this dealership for my dream car, the Mini Cooper. I went into this location, applied for the Loan, got approved & then the seller comes back to me and states that "the banks just closed-to continue the process the next day" fine. The next day and no word front the seller.. I called and the seller he will check into their finance department for any update and call me back. He never called me back. Three days later, I called again and a different seller said dealer was supposedly off the next few days. So this new dealer was going to check into their finance department for any new updates and call me back. this new dealer NEVER CALLED BACK! ... all of this was like 3 weeks ago. Today 4/17/18 I decided to give a call back to the dealership. I spoke to someone he said he check their finance department for any updates in regards to the credit check and my application. I have NOT RECEIVED A CALL BACK. Clearly these people needs to work on consistency, customer service and keeping true to their word CAUSE THEY SUCK! I am down at the Chevrolet of Naperville down the street and I am purchasing my first New Car! And I am being service way better than Mini Bill Jacobs dealership!!!!! Unfortunately due to poor customer service I wasn't able to get my dream car. But i will settle with Great service from a Chevy dealership down the street!!!!!

Buyer Beware! Tricked into buying WRONG CAR!

By meagan77 on 8/17/2017 at 9:48 PM. Helped by Aldo Huerta salesman, Ronny Bataineh sales manager.

I have been coming here for years servicing my Mini Cooper and returned last Saturday to buy a new one. I thought I could trust the sales team to be honest and helpful- unfortunately this was my first automobile purchase, I am a 21 year old girl and no mechanic! Aldo Huerta completely lied to me for hours selling me a vehicle I did not purchase! He lied about the ENTIRE MODEL- said the car was a 2016 JCW Mini Countryman with twin turbos!! He said the window tag was incorrectly printed (which said it was a base countryman) and had every excuse in the book as to why the car didn’t appear to be what he was describing. He lied to me about several aspects of the car, too much to even get into detail about! Got the car home, had my Dad inspect it, read through all of the literature included with the car and turns out—I was right, not a JCW, Aldo had lied, and I had been fooled. He either never checked his facts once throughout the course of several hours, or worse, knew what he was doing. I was completely tricked into buying this car that I personally didn’t like, but Aldo had told me all of the great features included in the car (lies) and I trusted him. It was a deal I couldn’t pass up! I brought this up to the sales manager, Ronny Bataineh- he is no better. He said I could TRADE THE CAR OUT (losing most of my large down payment) even though I had bought it about 4 days ago and it was sold via DECEPTION and MISREPRESENTATION. He made up for the mistake with some graphics for the car, and promised some “Mini gear.” Came to pick up my car today and had to wait an extra 20 minutes for a mirror cap to be put on (late for work) because Ronny never got around to it and he “didn’t know when I would be there to pick up the car” (1. It had been there a full week 2. I was told to pick up the car 24 hours ago, said I would be there today at this time.) I asked him about the Mini gear he had promised in front of my dad (I am alone at this point) and he got extremely offended, threw the price in my face of the graphics they put on my car and said I could pay for what they had done for me and he would “grab me 2 water bottles” if I wanted the “gear” he had promised. Just mind blowing! This whole experience has been an ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE. The service team at Bill Jacobs has been great to my family and me over the years, especially Dean and Mitch; unfortunately, the same cannot be said for the sales team. I am sad, disappointed and embarrassed that I was tricked and then treated the way I was by the manager. I urge anyone thinking about buying a Mini from Bill Jacobs to please re think their choice in a dealership. I want absolutely nothing more from this sales team, I’d like to never deal with any of them again; I just hope no one else ends up in the situation I am in now. You shouldn’t have to have a personal mechanic and lawyer present to buy a vehicle- but you just might want one here!

A new bar has been set for car buying

By MSHK2017 on 5/21/2017 at 1:57 PM. Helped by Irma Christian, Joshua Baker, Jeremy, Ronny.

We would like to thank Irma Christian, Joshua Baker, Ronny, Jeremy and the hardworking teammembers at Bill Jacobs MINI in Naperville for exceeding our expectations this week during the car buying process. This was truly a wonderful experience from start to finish. Irma's a gem at this dealership and a joy to work with. We felt at ease right away. We test-drove two models an hour before close on a weeknight. Joshua took the time to provide us a quote for our trade-in right at closing time, never making us feel rushed, and that customer service really stood out for us. We came back three days later and purchased a 2016 MINI Cooper S with Irma. The buying process was painless, thanks to store manager Ronny and finance guru Jeremy. This was a singular experience and we will definitely recommend Bill Jacobs MINI to friends and colleagues.

I would recommend this dealer.

Had a great experience...

By Mikachu24 on 9/9/2016 at 10:57 PM. Helped by Irma Christian, Mitch.

Irma Christian was very detailed and informative and made us feel very welcome and comfortable since our last experience purchasing a vehicle at another dealership was a nightmare... our experience this time was probably the best experience ever purchasing a vehicle and Irma took the time to go over every detail of the car which I've never seen before ever in a sales person before... to actually sit in the car and program the phone modifications to Bluetooth is pretty impressive, thank you again Irma... Mitch is also amazing for taking amazing care of us with our trade in vehicle which he didn't have to with issues with midus and loaner car.. I'm just over all so impressed with this dealership with the high quality of service and leadership and Valor of just the humanity everyone displays... it makes you regain faith in humanity, thank you again for all the help !! We appreciate all that you do in such a busy world we live in....

Not exactly a smooth experience

By Sasha A on 5/17/2016 at 2:06 AM. Helped by Irma Christian, Darren Heath.

Update 5/26 - This is an update to a prior 1 star review. Some background - since I deleted that prior review...they gave us a deal on a Friday, we put 1k deposit down, and made arrangements to drive the 5 hours to Naperville the following day. They changed the deal when we were an hour out. We turned the deal down and headed back to Michigan. We thought it was rather rude that not one person called to see what changed when our salesperson knew we were coming from so far and were already on our way. On Sunday morning we sent an email to all their sales managers and the business manager. When we didn't receive a response by Monday night, I posted the negative review. Well, last weekend we took the long trip again to buy this car. One of their sales managers, Darren, contacted my wife to try to work out the deal. I'm not sure if he was responding to my email, the the lost sale hitting his desk, or maybe even responding from our prior negative review. He was very apologetic and wanted to work a deal out. At any rate, we worked out what I consider to be a fair deal for the car. Darren was very nice - and hey they are a busy dealership. I understand why it might have taken them some time to follow up on a lost sale. Even though we decided to still deal with them after our initial very bad experience. They were really good in some areas and fell short in others. If this review were for their parts department - I'd give it a 5. Parts was great. We ordered some additional accessories - it was easy pleasant experience and they came in quickly. Not only that - they shipped it to us in Michigan AND called to let us know the tracking number. I'd definitely recommend. In regards to the purchase - We bought a 2013 Mini Cooper Countryman S ALL4. We made arrangements to make the drive again and told them we would be in around 1pm on a Saturday. When we arrived - the car looked great. It was detailed and looked as new as they could make it. The salesperson that we originally dealt with was going to get us through the initial paperwork She was friendly. Clearly eager to put the past behind us. The sales manager who got us back came and greeted us as well. Things seemed to be going well - until we had to wait over 2 hours for the finance guy to do the paperwork. I mean, I would've understood waiting if we hadn't made an appt to come in and buy the car. When I've done that in the past - we were in and out in less than 45. Yes, the Mini dealership is cool and they give you free beverages - but I didn't want to be there all day. Especially when driving 5 hours to get there. We didn't end up leaving until after 6pm central. Got there around 1pm. Ah well. The only other issue we had was what I'll call a "misunderstanding" with what we negotiated for the extended warranty. They worked it out - but we had to do the paperwork twice - and show proof of the warrant that was negotiated in an email. I think part of their problem is that they are a big dealership and need some better processes in place to be more efficient. Like - the day they were initially losing the sale - the should have called. Not 2 business days later. The paperwork should have been ready when we arrived. Their salesperson should be able to walk through all the paperwork - not just a finance manager. Yes, they did try to makeup for our initial issue. They were all very nice when we were there. If it wasn't for the extended warranty issue and the fact we had to be at the dealership for hours when they were expecting us to come in and purchase - I'd have given them 3 stars instead. Would I purchase from again - yes...if the deal was right. *******PRIOR REVIEW The short version of our experience can be summed up by the phrase "bait and switch". They agreed to a deal over the phone that I don't believe they ever had any intention of honoring. It seems to me they just wanted to get us invested enough to just go through with the purchase even if it wasn't what they initially offered. I feel very naive to have believed in a verbal agreement over the phone and given this dealership a $1000 deposit. Even after they reneged on the deal (after we had already driven over 3 hours to get there) no one from the dealership called to apologize or explain anything. Even if they respond to a review - it will just be for show on the internet. I contacted all of their sales managers via email - with basically the longer story I have below and have yet to receive a response. Here is long version of the story if you're interested: We verbally negotiated a deal on a 2013 used Mini and felt confident that our deal would go through as planned. There were mixed reviews on the internet - some good ones so I thought we should take the bad ones with a grain of salt. With faith, we put down the 1k requested deposit and planned our 4.5 hour roadtrip (9 hrs roundtrip) the next day. We should have initially been worried since our salesperson, Irma did seem a little confused about how the CPO warranty works and the remaining factory warranty left. I had already read about CPO and figured the car as a 2013 should have 8 months left on the original factory based on the Carfax report. So, I didn't let her confusion worry me. Irma told us that we would need to put $1000 deposit down since Bill Jacobs would start the certification process in the morning. We put the deposit in over the phone. We agreed to meet with Irma on Saturday at 2pm to buy the car. The meeting was set for later as we would be driving in from Detroit. We added the car to our insurance policy, filled out the credit application, and emailed everything requested to Irma. On Saturday, after we had been driving for over 3 hours, Irma called us. That was when the deal began to fall apart. Irma advised us that the car could not be certified. However, the car qualified to covered under a BMW certified program. Since the car didn't qualify for Mini CPO, they also had to seek other financing. The best we qualified for was 2.1 or 2.5 she wasn't sure, it depended on the terms. We immediately pulled over - since we would need to review exactly what had changed. We asked some questions about what the BMW certification was exactly. How did it compare to the Mini CPO? She focused on telling us what the Mini CPO did not cover. She said most people thought it was full coverage but really it was just a powertrain extension. We were confused because we thought the CPO warranty covered more than just powertrain. Irma said that the BMW warranty was basically the same coverage as a Mini CPO. The more we talked about what coverage they were offering - we began to understand Irma didn't mean a BMW certification - it was just an extended warranty with minimal coverage. So - instead of the CPO vehicle that we agreed to we were now talking about a regular pre-owned with a very basic warranty. Obviously, we were pretty upset because we had agreed on a CPO and that wasn't what was being offered now. We completely felt like we had been given the "bait and switch". We told Irma that we couldn't accept this change and to please refund our deposit. She informed us it would take 6-14 days to process. Since our experience with this dealer hasn't been good so far, I now have to worry about them having our money until the refund comes through. On the long drive home, my wife and I felt bamboozled and ashamed. We felt extremely naive to have bought into a verbal agreement with a car dealership. We should have gotten everything in writing prior to planning a 4 hour car trip. If anything good has come out of this experience, it was that hard life lesson.

I would recommend this dealer.

LOVE MY MINI

By Erin O, Naperville, IL on 1/29/2016 at 2:11 PM. Helped by Dana Halligan, Ronny Bataineh.

Just bought my MINI 1-27-16. Best car purchase experience I ever had! I LOVE MY MINI. I found my MINI online, Dana contacted me within a few minutes, I went in for a test drive and was instantly in LOVE with my MINI. Credit, Pricing, Finance and overall experience was not stressful at ALL. This is very rare compared to my previous experiences at other dealerships. This was the first time I ever visited a MINI dealership and WOW the MINI's are a great car- Very well built, safe and fun to drive. Check them out - they are a lot bigger inside than you would think. It's a classy little car!
