Poor Performance

My 2012 XJ (for which has a warranty) required a coolant system replacement. Bluff City Jaguar called and stated that the repair was complete. I picked up the car and within a day notice that at cold start the car ran very rough and while driving I smelled a coolant smell with a slightly rough engine torque at highway speed. I returned the car to my garage and rescheduled Bluff City to take another look at their repair. A few days later I received a call stating that the lead technician had performed additional diagnostic and could not find any issues. I picked up the car again, was charged a diagnostic fee for them checking their own poor performance and within minutes of having the car; the car was leaking coolant and smoking from the passenger side exhaust pipe. I think that no one performed any diagnostics and based the immediate performance of the car or lack thereof. It is likely that a repair never occurred. Essentially, I towed my car to Bluff City Jaguar, paid $2534.97 and picked up a car that was either piece-milled repaired or no one touched it at all (including the so-called additional diagnostics).

I would not recommend this dealer.

Fast, smart and satisfying

Warranty issue

Had a small problem with a broken fog lamp. Really wasnt covered. Being customer friendly they took care of our problem. We knew we made the right choice by choosing jaguar of Memphis.

Dane Duncan is the ultimate professional. He is courteous and thorough. He listens to my concerns, diagnoses my issues, and makes the appropriate recommendation for the safety and upkeep of my car. He never fails to respond and find a way to accommodate my schedule and transportation needs. He details and explains the need and cost of repairs and has the fore thought to advise when maintenance is needed so that I can plan for the expense. No matter the issue, I know when I speak to Dane, I'll get the appropriate information for which to make a decision about servicing my car. My rating of the dealership is largely predicated on the high quality of Dane's customer service. He is the prototype for Service Advisors at a quality dealership. Deb

We receive outstanding service support by Dane Duncan. Without fail, he addresses all of our concerns with proactive and effective solutions and does so on a very timely basis. He is extremely knowledgable about all of the products we've owned and is very current on all maintenance issues. Jason Jenkins does an excellent job of instructing us on our vehicles and how to gain the maximum benefit of their features. Both individuals are extremely courteous in all our dealings with them.

Malcontent

I changed the thermostat housing in my Range Rover Sport. When the thermostat housing is changed it requires the system to be bleed off. I called Jaguar Land Rover of Memphis service department and ask for a quote to get the work performed. The Service Writer told me that the service would be a $176 charge. I had my vehicle towed there to have them perform the work. It was late in the evening so they could not get the work performed that day. The Service Writer said he would call me the following day. The next day I got a call from the Service Writer stating that my Radiator had a pin whole it and they could not bleed the system without replacing the radiator. He told me to change out the Radiator it would cost ~1800 dollars. After I pulled myself up off the floor I decided to call other certified Land Rover Service Providers in Memphis to compare pricing. I called two locations to make sure I had a good sample and both gave me a price of ~$900. I called back to Jaguar Land Rover of Memphis and shared this information with the service provider and asked why would there be such a price difference. He only said he would have to see their quote before he could give the answer. I have always been told to never take your vehicle back to the dealer for service because you will always get ripped off. In the past, I resisted this statement and continued to take my vehicle to the dealership for service and maintenance. After this event, I am inclined to believe I have been getting ripped off the entire time. I just happened to compare pricing this time. I can understand maybe a 15% difference in cost but never in a million years I would have thought the price difference would be 100% higher. I called the General Manager to try to discuss this with him but he did not return my call. I just purchased a brand-new Range Rover in January of this year from this dealership. Even though the sales experience was good, I cannot help to believe that I will continue to get poor service from the service department. It is sad that when you entrust your vehicle to the OEM dealership to find that you may be overcharged excessively. When I had someone to retrieve my vehicle from the Service Department, Chad told him to “have a nice month” I am assuming that was his way of saying he did not want to see us again. Very Very dissatisfied!!!!!
