Dumbest salesmen around

If rating lower than a turd was available they would get it. A joke of a place and rude managers to boot. I think my fish tank has more energy than that place and overall has a better ambiance, (and it has fish turds in my bowl) Don't waste your time.

Excellent Service

I purchased my 2016 Forrester new over 2 years ago. From the get go I've always relied on the Briggs service department for general maintenance and all the "unexpecteds", of which I seem to be the recipient of on a frequent basis. I happen to be a nail and screw magnet on the dirt road we live on, and the crew can probably spot my car 3 blocks from the dealership, with "here she comes again" and place their bets on what's in her tire today! Well today, was an unexpected minor crash, as I was rear ended and left with part of my bumper apart from the rest of the vehicle and a part of it in contact with my rear tire. I didn't even call ahead, but instead drove straight to Briggs and pulled into the service department bay. I no sooner got out of the car and my fellas, Brian and Chad, appeared. They took over with securing the bumper and removing the piece in contact my rear tire. This resembled arriving to an emergency room with a broken bone, as I was received without any hesitation and the assurance they could fix me up and put me safely back on the road without worry. These guys are top notch and trustworthy, and are a huge part of my satisfaction with purchasing this vehicle at Briggs. Brian and Chad are the reason I don't even consider going anywhere else.

Poor service

I bought a new car that needed repairs as soon as I started driving it. The service was inadequate and the car had to be returned 6 times before the problem was fixed. Incompetent and rude.

I would not recommend this dealer.

Great experience!

After Olathe Subaru wasted about a month of my time, I knew I still wanted a Forester and found a beautiful black XT Touring at Briggs. My contact started with John Noteboom, the sales manager on 10/09/17. I asked him for a 36 month lease quote and they came in lower off the bat than the other Subaru dealerships I contacted that were in my area. I told him I'd love to come in and check out the vehicle and John had the car brought in from Briggs in Topeka that same day and let me know as soon as it arrived. That was the end of my contact with him. Another positive - he was quick to respond to e-mails which is always nice. When I arrived the following day, 10/10/17, I was greeted by John Warren as I was inspecting the Forester on the lot. Mr. Warren seemed like a genuinely nice guy, I couldn't find a negative thing to say at all about him. We chatted about farm work, fence building and a few other things while waiting on paperwork. Once numbers were brought out, we discussed price, and instead of him disappearing for 15+ minutes to go talk to a sales manager, he took only a couple minutes before he returned. Amazing. At this point in my car buying process, I'm pretty used to being left hanging by the sales guy and that wasn't the case here at all. In fact, we had a deal done in right around an hour and a half. Paperwork signed and I was out the door. Worth noting - the finance guy, Jeff, was easy to work with too. Wasn't pushy with me at all when I declined added packages. I don't see him listed at the time of this review so I can't leave him any stars, sorry! Picked up my vehicle that Thursday, 10/12/17, after add-ons were done being installed and am really enjoying the new ride! Definitely have a case of new car love - I won't park anywhere near another vehicle! Thanks John and John!

2018 Subaru Outback with Eyesight

The staff there was excellent! They made my buying experience enjoyable. We had Jarell take care if us, who was very much a strait shooter and very accommodating. He had even take care of my wife's car buying experience a few months prior. The car I wanted, a 2018 Subaru Outback with eyesight, just got off the truck at their Topeka location. Jarell was able to get it to us before we were done with the financing. Since it just came off the truck and it was the end of the day, we were able the bring it back the next week for all the detailing. This was after some rain in which the car got muddy, they cleaned it all up for me and made sure my fluids were filled. Very happy with our experience! I would highly recommend Briggs Subaru and definatly ask for Jarell! He will give you strait answers and will work with you!

Good experience

We bought our 2017 Subaru Outback from Jarrell at Briggs Subaru recently. We traded in our 2012 Volvo XC70 with about 80k, and they gave us around $14k for it. The value of the car was somewhere between $14k to $15k through NADA and around $12k with Kelly. The vehicle was in above average condition. NADA is a better gauge of vehicle values when they are seven years old or newer and have less than 90k. There first book to go to was NADA unlike the dealership in Olathe that tried to lowball us on our trade, almost $2k less. We would have liked to have gotten a little more for the vehicle, maybe $500 more, but all the other perks made financial sense. I know all of this because I used to work in lending. They sold the Outback for about $300 less than MSRP; plus, they gave us the dealer incentive money of $4500 and 0% interest for 63 months. The vehicle's MSRP was around $39,900 and the invoice was around $38,100. Subarus hold their value extremely well, so we knew we would be in a very good equity position at signing and especially 3-4 years down the road. We really liked the finance manager, Jamal. Because we plan on keeping the vehicle for at least 5 years, we bought an extended warranty. Briggs was very fair on their extended warranty pricing, although I know they made some money on it: $1395 for an exclusionary 7 year 100k warranty. A lot of other dealers in our area would have tried to sell the same warranty for at least $2k. Maybe $2500 if the dealer was especially greedy. The maintenance plan was fair as well at $850, about what we would pay out of pocket for all the services, but we don't have to worry about inflation on oil or other costs. We probably could have gotten a slightly better deal at Van in Kansas City, but we didn't want to pay the sales tax out of pocket (Missouri dealership) and we liked how the dealership staff handled our transaction, unlike the dealership in Olathe. I would definitely recommend Briggs.

Easiest car deal we have ever had

We went only to look and talk and ended up with a Vehicle. Best experience we have ever had on a car deal. John Warren is super nice and absolutely a no pressure salesman. Would highly recommend him to anyone.

Briggs was outstanding in their service, communications and friendliness. We feel like we got a great deal on both our new purchase (a beautiful Outback) and the amount offered for our trade. Having started this process through an internet inquiry, I was bombarded by calls and voicemails. Briggs stood out by sending a text asking for permission for further texts. I said yes and my chat with Courtney began. She was friendly- concise - gave me the information I needed and was quick to respond to each of my questions. I much preferred this to the phone tag and voicemail game that was going on with other dealers. A couple of phone calls did follow- but only at the point when we knew which car we wanted to look at and details of our trade had been shared. This made it all extremely efficient. When we arrived at the showroom, the car we wanted to test drive was waiting and Jarrell (sales) was ready to head out with us. He was awesome - friendly- not salesy- good listener and respectful. The whole transaction was completed in a fraction of the time expected (and what we'd experienced in the past at other dealers). The finance guy was also great. What a nice team and excellent experience. Thank you!

Exceptional service!!

Jarell worked with us when we were looking to buy a new car. He was very easy to communicate with and sent information to us which led us to come in to see him. He was very knowledgeable and easygoing. My husband and I felt completely confident that he was trustworthy and had our best interests in mind. When we finally had made the purchase of our new Subaru, which by the way we absolutely love, Jarell spit shined the engine for us claiming that he's a detail-oriented man and wanted to make sure that it left in perfect condition. We we're also very impressed at the way the other employees and the manager works together as a team to help each other out.

Worst Dealer I've ever tried to work with

Had a horrible and a bit bizarre experience trying to buy a car long distance from this dealership. I tried numerous times to reach someone in sales, and then to reach the sales manager based on an email I got via a cars.com inquiry: never any return call. One day I couldn't even raise anyone on the phone at all (during business hours, the phones just did nothing). When I finally talked to a (new) sales manager, he showed little interest, evidently because the car listed on cars.com was 'too low a price'. Again, repeated messages and emails when unreturned, so we we gave up.

I would not recommend this dealer.

Hard to get a hold of anyone

This is a wonderful dealership in person but trying to speak with someone with a question or for service is virtually impossible. It took me 15-20 minutes to finally get an operator who sent me to a voicemail...frustrating is putting it mildly.

Bait and switch

Made a 200 mile round-trip under the impression that my pre-loan application was preapproved by one of their many partner banks and I would be driving away from Briggs Subaru with a brand-new Subaru crosstrek. When I arrived at the dealership I was asked a series of odd very personal questions that took about an hour and a half. When it came time for me to ask when we were going on the test drive the sales person brought out the finance manager who proceeded to tell me that I would not be able to get financing from Subaru finance because of some percentage rate of what would need to be financed you to rollover from my other vehicle. I have to finance manager several questions and when he answered the percentage changed, when I asked what change in the few minutes we were talking he then proceeded to give me another number. They then told me that I was could get financed for a Chrysler 200 and that that was all that they could do for me because they only actually had one bank and they went through Subaru finance company. We went back out to the car and my boyfriend went back in to ask another question and then he was given a force number very different from the other three numbers I had received. I think they thought I was desperate and that I would buy any car they told me I was approved for. Upon speaking with other Subaru dealerships the next day I even came to find out that Subaru does not have their own finance branch so there's no such thing as Subaru finance. I ended up purchasing my vehicle from Subaru of Wichita who not only gave me a great deal they gave me a great warranty and gap coverage and had all the paperwork done and all I had to do was come in sign and trade in my car and get my keys and drive off and it was wonderful. Briggs Subaru and Briggs automotive group will absolutely never get business from myself or my family and I would not recommend them to anyone I know. Their tactics are predatory and I'm concerned that they utilize these predatory methods on all of the young soldiers from Fort Riley that are looking to buy new cars.

Briggs Lawrence Subaru

We were out a couple Saturdays ago wanting to test drive an Impreza for my wife. We made our way out to Lawrence and were greeted by Britton Schroeder. He was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. Very friendly and never pushy. He showed us both 2014 and 2015 models and was patient in explaining the differences between the model years. We ended up buying a 2015 Sport Premium 2.0 from Briggs. Thanks to Britton for his excellent service. He also spent a lot of time explaining all the new features and walking us through the car.
