Go somewhere else if you can

By NaterRater on 5/12/2019 at 6:59 AM. Helped by Don, and the guy with too much jewelry.

I purchased a Cruze here in 2013. The 2011-2015 Cruze was a decent enough car for the price point. I did not go into the deal with a good understanding of car buying and ultimately paid too much. But that was six years ago. Lets talk about the service department. There are a FEW friendly people working there but getting updates from the others is like pulling teeth. Communication between the service desk reps and the actual mechanics doesn't seem great. Pricing is high because it can be. They wanted to charge me $140 for a diagnostic when I had a check engine light on. !? It takes a minute and if they had just done it for me, since I was there for an oil change anyways they probably would have sold me something else (possibly even legitimate). Instead I bought my own diagnostic tool off Amazon for $100 and won't ever go to a mechanic again without already having a good idea of what is wrong. I have experienced much better service, communication and even car washes from other Chevy dealers. Go anywhere else if you can. Don finished up my last visit there when the other guy flaked out after not getting me a repair quote while there was still time to have the work done. When I received a quote my car was already in "wash".

I would not recommend this dealer.

Burien Chevrolet stole my down payment!!

By Kcol392 on 4/9/2019 at 12:23 AM. Helped by General manager(s).

DO NOT BUY FROM BURIEN CHEVROLET! I purchased a car from them about 3-4 weeks ago. I put $1200 down, paid for insurance, registration, signed paper work, shook hands and then got the keys and drove off the lot. I’m having a baby, and my baby mother lives in Las Vegas. He’s due any time now so I decided to move back to Vegas for about 2-3 months to be there for the birth and everything. A couple days after the sale, I get a call from the dealership telling me I actually wasn’t approved and they basically just lied to me so I didn’t go out and buy another car from another dealership in the process of them actually approving me, they told me I need to return the car ASAP, which by this time I was already in Vegas. I told them I’m not driving it back 20 hours and this their mistake so they need to come get the car, so I provided the address. They told me unless I drive the car 20 hours back to Seattle to return it, that they were going to report the car stolen and I was going to go to jail. I texted my car dealer multiple times and called them trying to work something out so I didn’t have to drive for another 2 days, at one point he told me he was sending a return kit so I could return the car, so I waited a couple days and got nothing in the mail. At that point I texted him again and he just ignored me from that point on. The last thing I wanted was to go to jail over a lie that the dealership made about me “stealing” a car, so I drove the car back to them. It’s now been over a week since returning the car and they will not return or answer any of my calls, they stole my down payment and will not even respond so I can find out what I’m paying $1200 for. The MOST unprofessional company I’ve ever done business with. Who steals the only money someone has for a car right before they’re going to become a parent. Money hungry a holes that’s who. I Strongly recommend no one does business w these people. They do not give a s*** about you, they just want your money!

I would not recommend this dealer.

Horrible experience. Tricked into $10,000 higher payment.

By TKent on 3/28/2019 at 4:31 PM. Helped by Chris Anderson.

This dealership will put customer satisfaction last, even if it means the loss of much further business. They live only for the immediate sale and for as much money as they can extract from you. I was a loyal customer, having purchased several cars from these guys. They lured me into the dealership with a lease payment “pull forward” enticement whereby they promised to forgive my last payment on my Chevy Volt if I leased or bought a new Volt. I came in and they assured me that they could sell me a new Volt for “not much more” in monthly payments than what I was paying for the old Volt lease. I was paying about $450. By the time the sales pressure was over and all the extras were added, my new payment was $644 a month. I ended up purchasing the “2018” Volt for $49,000 (including tax, license, dealer prep, financing charge and numerous other charges. Then, 2 1/2 weeks after driving the car off the lot, I get word from the dealer and plastered all over my various Internet feeds that I visit, “Huge $10,000 price drop on the 2018 Volt, plus 0% financing. My new Volt, having already suffered the usual depreciation immediately after driving it off the lot, suddenly became worth an additional $10,000 less. I had been lured into the dealership to end my previous lease early to buy a Volt at full price just a couple of weeks before the price was to be dropped by $10,000 and 0% finance charge. Had I waited the 2 1/2 weeks until my lease was up, I could have bought the car for the reduced price. Chris, the general sales manager, told me that he would make things right by taking my newly purchased Volt in on trade and then selling me another new one at the new, lower price. In that way I could take advantage of a second government tax rebate and thereby recover some of the extra money I was having to pay for my original purchase. I fell for this trap and went in with my new car to trade it in and I signed all the papers for the deal. All except the last paper, the loan disclosure, that is. I had been repeatedly told that my new payment would be very similar to the payment I had committed to for my just purchased, and now to be traded in, 2018 Volt. In fact, the number was put in writing by the sales rep I was dealing with. Before signing that last loan disclosure paper, I noticed the monthly payment was considerably higher than what was repeatedly quoted to me. That’s when I was told there was “negative equity” in my trade in and the new loan would have to include payment of that negative equity. “Oh sorry, my bad. I just forgot about that,” says the salesman. Bottom line, I would end up with an identical Volt, after trading in the one I just bought, for even higher payments than I was now committed to. I was outraged and refused to sign the paper. Later, Chris still tried to convince me that I could save some money by doing the trade-in of my newly purchased Volt for another new one, but this would have involved my paying for the car in full up front and this would mean taking a lot of money out of my retirement accounts which would cause me to lose the interest that money makes for me by staying invested. This whole time, all anyone at Burien Chevrolet cared about was selling me a car, then attempting to sell me another car when I got caught in the trap that had been set by Chevy. The whole bad deal was reported to Chevy Customer care but they did nothing. In fact, Chris said I could go ahead and file a complaint with them, but that they didn’t give a s__t. He was correct in that regard. My advice: Do not do business with these folks. Beware of smiling faces and down home, friendly and casual sales pitches and run away from this place if you want to get an honest deal! Oh, to add insult to injury, I never did get reimbursed for my last lease payment, the deal that tricked me into buying a new Volt in the first place, just before the price drop.

I would not recommend this dealer.

Great car buying experience.

By levilevi1 on 2/22/2018 at 5:18 PM. Helped by Joshua Collier.

Our experience here in February of 2018 was great. Our sales person, Joshua Collier was very helpful and kind. He was not pushy at all. We received a fair price for our trade and a good price on our new vehicle. They were a big help getting us a good deal on financing. Everyone from the Manager to the finance lady was awesome. Thank you!

Don't recommend this to purchase car at this dealer

By Corvette6 on 12/31/2017 at 10:54 PM. Helped by Jim.

They promised me to deliver the car to me for free. After I paid all the money, they asked for 500 bucks for delivery because of the distance. It's only 40 miles and they asked for $500. Horrible purchase experience at this dealer.

August 6, 2017

By abc123 on 8/7/2017 at 7:27 PM. Helped by Robert and Dan or David (do not remember which it is).

Our experience here started out just fine but we will never purchase a car from this dealership. Our first sales person, Robert was just great. My car was recently stolen and my husband and I needed to find a new car. We were VERY upfront that we were not buying a car at this visit but wanted to see what their used car options were. Again, Robert was very helpful, and accommodating. We did find one car we wanted to test drive and that all went fine. After our drive, Robert's "Manager" (Dave or Dan, I can't remember) came out to ask us how it went. We told him we liked the car and would like to consider it but that we were driving other cars that day and that this was our first stop. We asked if there was any wiggle room on the price and he said, I don't know, if you are willing to buy it today there could be (in typical car salesman "style"). I reiterated that we were NOT purchasing a car that day but wondered for comparison if the price was firm. Again, he said if we were willing to sit down and write a number on a piece of paper that he could take to his manager and commit to the car that day he would talk to us about the price but would not discuss unless we were willing to purchase on the spot. My husband (not from this country) asked how the price negotiation worked and Dave (or Dan) said well, you write down a number, I take it into my boss and if you're lucky and he's in a good mood he may say yes and if he's in a bad mood, he says no. At that point we stopped dead in our tracks and I said, thank very much, we're out- if the price of a car we want to purchase relies on whether your boss is in a good mood or not, we are not interested. He got very irritated at my comment and said, do you want this car or not today, this is how it works. and I said, not interested in the price of my car being dictated by someone's mood. I also said for at least the 5th time we were not purchasing a car that day and would now not be buying one from them. I know that there is a song and dance that goes along with buying a car but when a sales person tells me that the fate of the price of the car I want to purchase relies on the fact that his boss is in a good mood or not, I'm not interested, I hope it's based on the margins they are willing to explore with a customer and what I'm willing to pay and we meet in the middle, that is fine. The whim of someone's mood is not.

I would not recommend this dealer.

Would not recommend

By quitura on 4/24/2017 at 2:38 AM. Helped by N/a.

I felt pushed to buy a vehicle/style that did not fit my personality/wants. I worked with a male and female (forgot their names) .. the woman was understanding of what I was looking for but the man who kept stepping in (I'm assuming with more experience) kept insisting I try cars/styles I clearly wasn't interested in just to make a sale... overall.. I'm glad I purchased my car at another dealership that actually... listened.

Different than most dealerships

By CarlosRivenga on 8/24/2016 at 3:57 AM. Helped by Josh Collier.

I have experience with buying cars from many different dealerships across the U.S. but I've never quite had one like when I stepped onto the lot at Burien Chev. I know all the tricks when it comes to selling cars and I can tell when a salesman is being dishonest with me. Josh Collier is like a different breed of salesman. You can tell he's eager to sell you a car but not if it's one you don't feel comfortable in. I went on a few test drives, got to try out all the new gadgets, and even hollered at some fine honeys at a stop light. All in all it was a great experience. Thanks to Josh I got the car I wanted and felt I got a fair deal.

I would recommend this dealer.

STOP do not trust them

By John on 7/19/2016 at 4:59 PM. Helped by on line sales.

Do not trust this dealership!!! I saw a car that they had for sale on the internet, I was 184 miles away so I wanted to make sure that we would have a deal if I drove that far for a car that it was held and that my trade in price was OK. I worked with the internet salesman, first I made sure that that the car was still for sale and all of the options were what I was looking for. Next we went over my trade in, sent photos and gave them all of the information they asked for. We had a deal I even gave them my credit card number to hold until I could get there in 3 hours. One hour later I got a call from someone that told me that someone was there and buying the car right now and sorry. This company is the worse type of dealership. They lied and deceived me knowing that the car I held was sold already. I will let Chevrolet know and the whole world that this dealership is dishonest and should have their dealership taken away. Bait and switch is not only dishonest but is also illegal. I will never use Burien Chevrolet and will stop at least 30 friends that I have in Washington from buying there also.

I would not recommend this dealer.

Never Again!

By staciegrim on 1/16/2016 at 4:22 AM. Helped by Hugh M..

I cannot express how horrid my experience was here!! I will be calling Chevrolet corporate to see if anything can be done about the horrid man that I had to deal with. I probably can't list his last name publicly, but Hugh M______ is the reason I will never be going back to this dealership. Things started out friendly with small talk and pleasantries but then turned sour as he learned my budget for a car would only be $10,000. I wanted to take a test drive in a used Chevy Cruze but he told me it would be a waste of time for him because the sticker price was $12,400. I told him I thought I would be able to raise my budget a little for the right car and he replied, "Listen lady, you sound like you don't know what the xxxx you're doing, maybe you should come back with your daddy." I took it pretty offensive because my dad had died recently. I stood there in shock and he just chuckled and told me that if I wanted to wait until later he'd, "pretend to be my daddy." I've heard of slimeball used car salesmen but this guy was worse than I could've ever imagined!!! Needless to say I didn't take a test drive in the Cruze and I quickly took my money elsewhere!!!

Best dealer!

By Wdhbeanie on 9/20/2015 at 5:45 PM. Helped by Bill Columbe.

The BEST car buying experience we have ever had!! Bill coloumbe is the best sales person and made our time there amazing!! First things first, I hadn't driven a car in over a year due to being hit by a drunk driver. After 2 years of court, the case was FINALLY settled and I decided it was time to buy a new car! After weeks and weeks of looking online I came across a beautiful bright red convertible Saab 9-3 at Burien Chevrolet. Best part was it only had 20,000 miles!! A 2008 with 20,000 miles and the price was Amazing!!! I called the dealership and talked to Bill and he went ABOVE AND BEYOND to help us! He not only picked us up to take us to the dealership, he got me the exact deal I wanted in less than 15 minutes!!! Did I do something wrong because car buying shouldn't be this easy!! The only delay was the finance manager was out sick but everyone was super accommodating!! Filled up my car, detailed it and made my trip here the best!! Our next car will definitely come from this dealership!!

I would recommend this dealer.

Poor paint job cover up

By flyingdutchman on 5/14/2015 at 12:19 AM. Helped by Troy.

Thought I had bought a great little used car only to find that the Car Fax report that revealed nothing wrong didn't show the FACT that the driver's side rear door had had repair done (filler and or pulling out) and a slap dash coat of paint applied. Of course, I didn't notice it until now (a couple of months later). Someone had obviously applied a quickie paint job to cover up the imperfections and only now is it clear there is some body damage that they quickly applied paint to. And of course, Burien Chevrolet claims "it's been too long." Really, Carfax (one you gave me) indicates no damage to the vehicle yet the wear of the paint coming through now shows just how bad the paint job was you applied. I feel taken by these guys.

first time new truck order from factory

By Tommy-Jude on 1/17/2015 at 6:53 AM. Helped by Troy Davenport (sales) and Lloyd Roper (director operatios).

let them know months ago what I wanted. Was recognized buy a salesman and called by name when I came in for service on my vehicle. It was my idea to talk about buying a new light truck. I was shown information on the truck that I was interested in. Troy did an outstanding job bringing me up to date on the line of trucks that Chevy was reintroducing to the American market and what was available as far as options go. What I wanted wasn't on the lot, so we ordered one from the factory built the way {I} wanted. Ending with a relaxed and very happy costumer.

Not in our Margin to cover that hidden broken part

By gmc2009 on 11/13/2014 at 8:55 PM. Helped by Tony Michaels.

Terrible Car Buying Experience I would not buy a car from Burien Chevrolet, I just purchased a vehicle and after driving it for five days I found a malfunctioning item on my car that was manipulated to seem as it was working properly for the sale of the vehicle. Not even five days after I purchased the vehicle did the part start to malfunction. I returned to the Burien Chevrolet to have a few items that were broken and not found during their Certified Pre Owned Check List. (I would question that check list) I informed Burien Chevrolet of the problem of the manipulated item that was starting to malfunction, I was told they were not going to cover the whole cost of replacing the item, and told by Tony Michaels (GM) the follow. It’s not in their margin to cover it, they have done enough, and best of all, I should have found it when I was buying the vehicle and asked for more before I purchased it. Tony Michaels then proceeded to tell me he’s a “numbers guy” and that’s just not in his numbers…. Burien Chevrolet, I did look for the malfunctioning part before I purchased the vehicle, but when someone manipulates an item to hid it, it’s hard to ask “for more” I would not spend my Christmas money with Dealership. Anderson Brothers this is what is really going on in your dealerships

worst dealer in Washington

By Tinne Ney Quiambao on 10/4/2014 at 6:33 PM. Helped by Justin.

Worst dealer in Washington. Poor customer service! The sales rep from Houston Texas rippled his eye on me before leaving the table. Very rude and unprofessional team. Instead on helping me get the vehicle I want he kept saying that he will show me other vehicles within my price range which is a code for getting me a lesser vehicle but still overcharging me!
