Incompetence in service no integrity in management

I brought my Ford F-250 Super Duty In for tires at #CapitalFordCharlotte. After 4 and a half hours the truck was ready. When starting the truck I noticed my tire pressure on all four wheels was at 45 psi. Ford calls for 75psi on the rear tires and 60psi on the front. I brought this to their attention and after they adjusted I was now getting messages the front were over inflated and rear were under. They placed the tire sensors back in the wrong positions and it took approximately 30-45 minutes while they re-programmed the sensors. They apologized and they stated they were training someone new. My rims were left greasy and not even wiped off. When I paid (approx $890) they kept telling me my debit card had been declined. Finally they said it went through. When I woke up Monday morning they had in fact charged me 4 times. I contacted the bank and the dealer (actually drove to the dealer). My bank did make the correction. Fast forward 11,000 miles. My truck is now due for a set of tires. Yes! 11,000 miles. Upon inspection it was found that the dealer had installed a passenger vehicle rated tire instead of an LT tire. This they would have known based upon the tire pressure rating on the tire sidewall (tire manufacturer stated 45psi max. They in fact inflated a tire to double that which the tire manufacturer recommended. I immediately contacted the dealer. After researching they admitted they installed the wrong tire. They then went on to tell me the service advisor who handled the transaction was no longer with them. They also stated the truck should have gone to their truck shop and not the quick lane. Really? Think about that. They then stated they would split the difference in price from what I paid vs what the correct tire would have been. Sounds good right? Wrong! They are telling me the same tire in an LT rating is almost double. I went to another Ford dealer and In writing was told the Michelin LT with alignment was just under $1100. Less than a $300 difference. I contacted Ford customer service and was issued a ticket number and was told they would research. I then received a call back stating they received no response. Finally after getting in touch with the Finance Manager at Capital Ford I was told the same thing. Yes, those tires never should have been installed. Wow! He agrees. Thought I’m getting somewhere. Nope! Just received a call back and was told the best they would do was what I was quoted. Even though I had a written estimate from another ford dealer. What happened to price matching? Don’t they say they will beat any competitors price? Of course they do. To get you in the door. The fact of the matter is this. They were wrong. Not me. They put myself and my family in an unsafe situation. They let an untrained individual install equipment he was obviously not qualified to install. They are dishonest and have zero integrity. They do not stand behind their work. I’m lucky I haven’t had a blow out and killed myself or much worse, someone else. I would not and will not ever recommend #capitalFord in Charlotte or any Capital Ford location. They can’t service what they sell. Your better off trying a small lot that may actually know what integrity is. Funny thing is, the finance manager said the owner would be contacting me but that’s the best they would offer. #Ford #CapitalFordCharlotte WCNC Bill McGinty

Great Experience

We went to test drive a car and were not hassled in any way. Instead, the sales consultant, Borris Johnson, was very cordial, answered every question we asked, and was very relaxed. Everyone there was helpful and even stayed late to work out the sale once we decided to get the car. Overall, this was an easy and excellent experience.

Told lies and didn't live up to promises

Make sure you get everything in writing with this dealership. They make verbal promises then try to say "it isn't in writing, so we didn't say it". Many times during the buying process we were told that they would fix the liner in the convertible top. It was jammed up in the steel mechanism when we test drove it and the salesman promised it would be taken care of. Even at the signing table we were once again told it would be repaired so we did not inspect every peice of paper put in front of us. After being ignored for over 3 weeks, we finally got them to look at the top by complaining to top management, then they decided it was too much to fix and told us there was nothing they could do. I have had these experiences at cheap used car lots when I was young, but have never had such a horrible experience at a manufacture dealership such as this. This may be a nice place to get a brand new car, but beware if you are buying a used one. Our car is a one year old mustang convertible so it is still a very nice expensive car and we got treated horrible.

A smooth process of getting the car I want

The process of getting my vehicle was smooth, the first vehicle I wanted to get I wasn't able to afford the payment but the second vehicle he showed me was just as good as the fist vehicle probably better. With the second vehicle the payment was affordable and love the feature that it has!

Bad service on my Shelby Mustang

Had my Shelby in the body shop at the dealership and got pretty good service there. I had the body shop take the car up to the service department for some warranty work. They did not communicate with me, unless i called them. They kept the car forever - over a week and only completed 1 out of 4 items on the list. When i picked u the car, the plastic lens over the tachometer mostly obscured by something spilled on it that will not come off - i think it's inside the lens, I WILL NEVER USE CAPITAL FORD AGAIN!!!

Outstanding

We drove all the way from Greenville, SC because my son was looking for a specific truck. Once we got to the dealership, my son decided he didn't want the truck he originally saw on-line. Lucky enough we had a wonderful Salesman by the name of Ben Ivy. He is very professional knowledgeable in all vehicles on their lot as to the different options, horsepower, warranty, etc. Mr. Ivy was so patient and kind with our family as my son wanted to look at a lot of different trucks. Once he finally decided on a truck we met with Dan Marsh, the Finance Director and a few other employees. There were a few things that needed to be done to the truck before we could take it home so they agreed to deliver the truck to us. Wow, who does this in this day and age? Capital Ford of Charlotte does! I want to personally thank Dan Marsh for following thru with all the items on our checklist, Ben Ivy for being a positive, non-pushy salesman, (Even called to make sure we were happy with our truck) both Scott McKinnon and Rob Satter Jr for approving the work to be done and providing us with a New truck to drive while ours was being worked on and lastly Samantha White in service. I highly recommend Capital Ford of Charlotte.

Great CS

I got to the dealership on Saturday at 3:35, not knowing they took the last oil change at 3:30. The serviceman was very polite when he told ne this information, but made sure I did get an oil change and was also done in 30 minutes! That's great customer service. The waiting area was clean. I would definitely recommend Capitol Ford.
