Bait and Switch

Bait and switch, lies, and deception. I have been working over a period of months now with their salesman Zeke, and it has taken nearly a month in order to get my down payment of $10,000 and still have not received my deposit of $200 back. I walked in early April to see if they could work out a deal for a Ford Fiesta ST, this being my first ever new car purchase, and went back and forth with Zeke for a price. After sorting through a few cars I was promised an appealing price of $18.6k and put down a deposit of $100. My girlfriend wanted to hold a used car for another $100 but soon switched it over to my deposit because she decided not to get the car instead of getting the $100 back. When the day arrived to get the car, I will quickly brought through financing, put down my $10K, and went out for the final inspection of the vehicle with my dealer. This was not a Ford Fiesta ST. This was a Ford Fiesta ST-line. The dealer did not know the difference. I was upset but decided to cut my losses and was told I would get my money back. On April 20th, I confirmed with Zeke that I wanted my money back and he said it would be 5-10 Business days. Over three and a half weeks I texted or called Zeke and the dealership and was told either it was on its way or that someone would find out what was going on. I physically went in today on 5/15/19 and spoke to Zeke about getting my money. I was handed a check for $10,000 and told the manager was not going to give me my $200 deposit back that early I was told I could easily get back if put down on vehicles. I asked to speak with the manager that was denying $200 and I was let to talk to Matt. Matt accused me of lying, Matt told me he himself didn't know the difference in the Fiestas, Matt informed me that this seemed pre-meditated (I'm going to put money down on a car not to buy the car? Get out of here) and refused to refund me my money until he could speak to another manager. Zeke was of no help and would not own up to his mistake. I know I won't be getting my deposit back. This has been a disgusting experience. Absolutely disgusting. If this is how a 'hometown dealer' is going to act I will be going somewhere else. TLDR - Carmody Ford refuses to give me $200 deposit back that was promised to be refundable, treated me incredibly rudely, and held onto substantial amount of my money until I confronted them.

I would not recommend this dealer.

Our salesman Jay was very helpful in our decision and the process on our 2015 Ford Edge. This makes our 3rd suv we have bought from Carmody 👍 great device !!!!

My buying experience was truly outstanding. From the moment I walked into the dealership I felt I was among friends, not vultures ready to pounce on me. I was treated with the upmost respect and felt at ease from the start. Negotiations were honest and straight forward, no nonsense. The salesman, Rick, was friendly, honest and sincere. The sales manager, Chris, was also friendly and professional. I would highly recommend Carmody Ford.

After having an absolutely terrible experience with our local dealership, we brought our F250 to Carmody on the recommendation of some independent mechanics in our area. They went above and beyond in working with us to remedy a problem caused by another dealer. The mechanic that worked on our vehicle spent about 30 minutes with us when we pick the car up , showing us where there were problems that he remedied and open questions as to what the other dealer did. In talking to him you could appreciate his skill level and also the fact that he cared about us and empathised with our situation. Though it's quite a drive for us we will have our car service here again because of the integrity and amazing service.
