Darrell Was Great!

By Robert T on 10/14/2019 at 1:40 AM. Helped by Darrell Hair; Jason Martinez.

I recently was looking for a quality used vehicle and I found what I was looking for at Selective Autoplex in Carrollton, Texas. When I called the dealership to confirm that the vehicle was still available, I spoke with Darrell Hair. He was very professional and told me it was still available. We spoke about the details of the vehicle and it's mileage and condition. Once I decided to buy the 2017 Honda CRV EX-L, had my bank contact Darrell and he took care of all the details of the sale by phone. I live 2 hours from Carrollton and told him I would have to come in on Saturday to pick up the CRV. When we arrived at the dealership, the CRV was washed and parked out front and Darrell was there and ready to take care of us. Since so much of the paperwork had been done before we arrived, we took the vehicle for a test drive, looked it over and signed the paperwork. We were only at the dealership for about an hour! It was the best car buying experience I have ever had! If you are looking for a high quality used vehicle, call Darrell at Selective Autoplex. You won't regret it! Robert T

I would recommend this dealer.

Started Great -- Until I Bought the Vehicle

By GoCougs on 10/3/2019 at 1:57 PM. Helped by Darrell Hair; Jason.

This is such a mixed review. I initially felt at ease coming into the dealership and dealing with Darrell. I knew the type of vehicle I wanted, because I'd previously owned one and was looking for a second vehicle to commute between Dallas and Fort Worth. I was shown the Carfax and was told the vehicle had just undergone a however-many-point inspection, oil change, as well as it's Texas inspection, and review by an independent company who provided a certain number on a scale. We took the auto on a test drive down a long, straight road near the dealership where he had me turn around go back. Unfortunately, we did not take it on the freeway -- BIG mistake. Everything seemed great, so I arranged to purchase the vehicle. Since I had driven my other vehicle to the dealership, Darrell offered to drive the one I'd just purchased to my home, if I brought him back. On the way back to the dealership (Darrell) was still driving and I got into the car. He proceeding to tell me that the car drove smooth on the way to my place. However, I noticed while on the freeway the vehicle was vibrating, so I brought it to his attention. He said it was only the road - not the vehicle. Wrong! I dropped him off and drove the vehicle back to my place - he said the dealership was closed so just drop him at his vehicle. That is when I realized it was not the road, but the car. On top of that, I contacted him to let him know that the vehicle was vibrating and not the road as he told me it was. And, I went on to say that even though I bought the vehicle at over 79k miles I was going to need to have the paperwork showing all the maintenance they did on the car, because according to my extended warranty paperwork I had to abide by the manufacture's maintenance plan or my warranty would be voided. 80K was the next maintenance - and an expensive one. Darrell told me I would have to pay for that and they could/would not give me paperwork to show any maintenance they did to the car. Turns out - I tried to use the mechanism to spray wiper fluid to clean the windshield - no fluid; I also need to have new shocks on the vehicle on top of fixing the vibration issue and pay an additional $600 for the 80k maintenance. What seemed to be a fair deal on a vehicle (as related to others of its model/mileage) has turned out to be a poor deal after finding out I need another $2000 worth of maintenance and his/the dealerships only suggestion was to take to inexpensive mechanic. Do not take their word on maintenance that was done - unless they provide you the paperwork BEFORE you sign the papers and have a mechanic thoroughly review the vehicle before you even consider doing so.

I would not recommend this dealer.

My sales person, Darrell Hair, was attentive to both my needs and budget and made the whole process transparent and perfect for me. Mr. Hair was professional and really listened to my questions and concerns and responded in an easy to understand manner. Selective Autoplex was a great dealership and I was happy over all.

I would recommend this dealer.

Excellent customer service

By Lidia61 on 9/24/2019 at 2:42 PM. Helped by Darrell Hair.

Yesterday after looking for over a month for a vehicle we stumbled upon this dealership. Looking back at our experience with them we regret not going here first. From the moment we called them we were impressed by the level of service and curtesy. Our sales representative Darrell Hair walked us through the easiest shopping experience we have ever had. The price on the vehicle was already low but they were able to drop it further to work within our budget. Everyone we met from there seemed genuinely friendly and helpful. The finance manager was able to work in getting us the lowest rate. Overall easily the best car buying experience we have had.

I would recommend this dealer.
