The best car-buying experience we've ever had.

We've purchased many automobiles over the decades and this experience with Columbia Acura has been the best. From the moment we walked into the door until we drove away in our new 2019 MDX, we experienced very professional and friendly service. We were greeted immediately with a warm welcome. Gary Berner was very knowledgable about the MDX we were interested in buying and patiently explained every detail we quizzed him about. He was very efficient in getting us set up in a test drive and clearly answered a few remaining questions we had after driving the vehicle. During the discussion about potentially purchasing an MDX, Jacob Close explained things in a professional, thorough and warm manner. He thanked us for coming in then clearly laid out all discounts available. Discussions about the final purchase price and the value of our trades were immensely fair. The friendly demeanor of both Gary and Jacob made interacting with them easy. There was never any pressure to buy or sign on the dotted line. They let the vehicle and their professionalism speak for themselves. We could not have asked for a better buying experience. Dave and Beth Wisler.

Wonderful staff and facility. Our sales rep was Gary Berner. Super to work with. All the folks that we met from Jacob to Gary to Sonny, provided a very pleasant experience. We love our new 2018 RDX. It was worth the drive from Michigan.

Leasing 2018 ILX from Columbia Acura on 8-8-18

Used car warranty a BUST

I purchased a used 2014 Toyota Highlander on June 30, 2018. About 2 weeks later the front bearing went bad and they will not cover it with the 3 month/3000 mile warranty. They do cover some wearable parts and claim they cover the front/rear axles and the brake assembly. Also, their warranty states what it does not cover, but it doesn't list these parts. I just spent over $27,000 on a vehicle and the part costs a little more than $100. Come on guys, this does not make me feel good about my purchase. They say they are all about relationship and taking care of people. In my first instance when I asked to get help, they said sorry we can't help you.

I would not recommend this dealer.

Disappointing experience

I bought a 2017Acura RDX from Columbia Acura in October. . After paying for it, and the license plates attached, the polite, and friendly salesman paired my iPhone running iOS 11.0.3 with the car. The contacts did not download properly. Short version.....the salesman knew this was an issue when he sold me the car. He did not inform me of this problem until after I took the vehicle although it didn’t work properly when I tried making calls with him in the car. At that time he told me it was a little finicky. After taking the car and trying to make calls multiple times , re-pairing it with the car multiple times , and researching, it became clear this was a widespread issue with Acura. I spoke with the salesman the next day. He told me he was aware of the problem. The salesman intentionally misrepresented the condition of the car. I spoke with Columbia management. They apologize for the lie and say they do not know when, or if, this flaw will be corrected. I certainly do not recommend doing business with Columbia Acura.

I would not recommend this dealer.

Sales and service department

We have a TSX Sportwagen and a TLX. The sales department was upfront, friendly, and accommodating. The service department has always been great. The TSX Sportwagen has 100k and no one but Columbia has lifted the hood. Anytime I need something more than an oil change I always have a new Acura service loaner. They have also been able to accommodate me unscheduled items. I had a wheel bearing going bad and they let me drop it off and get a service loaner same day until they could get to it. Not everything you have to do with your car is always scheduled and they are always able to accommodate me. Highly recommend

Pre-owned 2014 acura purchasing process

This dealership has a very bad customer service. I visited the place to buy used 2014 Acura RDX, had test drive and had my offer. I was negotiating with their price and raised my opinion that thy are expensive than the national average. The sales manager asked me to substantiate my claim with an evidence. I promised him to provide evidence and tried to get him with data I have. They don't have email contacts to sent my evidence. I chatted online and asked the agent if she could provide me email so that I can send my message. She refused to give me. I chatted with her stating that it is uncommon for a dealership destined to sell cars and serve customers. Finally, I have contacted them on their website and listed the sample evidences I was asked to bring by the sales manager. I have also requested if i could continue my purchasing process further providing different options including a trade-in with my current car with out any response. The car I was interested in is still in market and I didn't get any response from them.

I would not recommend this dealer.

Great buying experience

Very good buying experience! Love the Acura TLX! We were in and out with a new car in about 4 hours. Numbers were very good, and Jacob (sales manager) and Gary were very friendly and knowledgable. For the first time, buying a car was a very pleasant experience, thanks in a very bigpart to them.

Frustrating experience

This dealership is the closest to where I live. I visited them a few months ago, but my wife wanted to wait on the 2017 MDX to come out. On my first visit, everything was fine. Fast forward to when we actually wanted to buy an MDX. Same salesperson. Nice and friendly but for some reason, I feel he doesn't want to sell me a car. He puts us in an MDX for a test drive. Great car. We pull into the parking lot after our test drive and we are playing around with the features trying to learn the car. Within 2 minutes a different salesperson starts knocking on the window. I open the door and he tells me we need to get out of this car as he has someone waiting to take a test drive. He said if I wanted to play with all the bells and whistles I should go into the showroom to the MDX there. That ticked me off. But I did what he asked and went inside. I sat in the MDX in the showroom and after about 1 minute, the MDX was dead. Apparently the battery was dead because everyone had been playing with the features all weekend. Great. So I am still here because the wife wants one of these to downsize her Lincoln Navigator. But I am very frustrated at this point. So I asked my salesperson if he can provide me with a brochure or printout or something that tells me what the different is between the Technology package and the Advance package. He informs me he has nothing. So I ask him point blank, so I am standing in an Acura dealership and there is nothing you can provide me that tells me about the product you are trying to sell. He tells me to go to the internet. I didn't go to the internet. I went to another Acura dealer and bought not only an MDX for my wife, but also a TLX for me.

Doesn't return calls and doesn't care

I recently moved to the area and got a recall notice from Acura. Called Columbia Acura to set up an appointment. Service did not have their own phone number or answering machine. The reception took my message. Several weeks go by, and no one called me back. Fast forward several weeks later, and I used the web form on their website to book an appointment. Two days later and still no call back. So, I called and spoke to the receptionist again, who said the service department was busy with customers. She offered to take my message or have me hold. I told her I would hold since the last time she took a message no one called me back. I told her taking messages doesn't apppear to be working. She said, "Okee-dokee!" and put me on hold. When I finally reached someone in the service department, I mentioned the calls and the web form and that no one was calling me back. It turned out they had me booked based on the web form I submitted. I stated that no one called or wrote me back to confirm. I received a similar blowoff of indifference. After pondering, I decided this experience wasn't a good sign. I used the chat feature on their website (since they don't have an after-hours answering machine), cancelled the appointment, and explained why. I received excuses, not apologies, from the person I was chatting with. I told her I'd go somewhere else. Did I get a follow-up call from the dealership as a result of the chat session? Nope!

I would not recommend this dealer.

My experience of buying the TLX was great.

The salesman (Gary) was informative and coutious. There was no pressure to purchase and he also provided an initial cost for the selected model. After I indicated my desired price to purchase, the management agreed, no fuss. The car preparation were made promptly. Greg was efficient in gathering the necessary information needed i.e. Insurance, credit info... for the closing. Although there was much technical info, Gary went over all the systems involved which gave a good start in getting familiar with my new car. To say the least, l was very satisfied with the efficiency of the transaction.

Easy Acura Lease

When it came time to turn in my Acura and swap it out for another one, they made the process seamless. I took care of everything over the phone. Showed up at the dealership and it took me about 10 minutes in financing signing the lease paperwork.
