Salesperson, not a Sales-Shark

By Mike W. on 8/15/2019 at 1:18 PM.

I recently visited 5 Chevy dealers and Geoffrey stood out among all other salesperson I met with. He made you feel comfortable immediately without an aggressive sales pitch to win me over and no cheesy sales pitches begging what it will take to buy from him today. He was knowledgeable but not cocky, calm throughout the entire process(even when I may have been a little difficult working the numbers to where we both were hoping to be at) and has a great personality. When it came down to it my wife and I had a number we both felt we needed to be at. Another dealer did go "all in" to win us over but my experience with them in the past was they had a terrible service department and once I purchased a vehicle from them they would never care what happens once I drive off. Yes, I would have saved myself a little money going with the competitor(approx. $1000 or less as apples to apples car comparison difficult to compare). It was Geoffrey most of all that won me over to buy from Copeland Chevey

I would recommend this dealer.

Looking for a Used Vehicle

By Jamyp on 7/5/2019 at 3:45 PM.

Have always hated car shopping, over zealous sales staff, over priced vehicles and poor customer service after purchase. Copeland has changed our opinion. We were looking for a used vehicle, we had viewed their inventory on line prior to arriving and knew what we wanted to test drive. Andrew was so accommodating, straight forward and provided us with all the information we needed to make a decision. Needless to say we drove home in the vehicle we had viewed. The experience was pleasant, no pressure and very seamless. If you are looking to purchase a new or used vehicle I recommend you start your search at Copeland

I would recommend this dealer.

2019 Silverado

By Joe18 on 6/4/2019 at 4:37 PM. Helped by Russell Grant.

First off I wanna say that I went to a few Chevy dealerships before heading to Copeland Chevrolet to check out a new Silverado. I have to say Copeland Chevy should have been my first and only stop. Everyone here is extremely professional and friendly. Salesman Russell Grant assisted me in my venture for a new truck and he was on the ball with everything. All questions I had he had the answers for and just overall made it a great experience. At the end of the day I was getting a truck no matter what but Russell was the one who made me want to seal the deal with Copeland Chevy. Thanks again!

I would recommend this dealer.

Andrew was super helpful. He was not pushy at all and didn't peer pressure me into buying a vehicle. He understood what I wanted in a new car and the necessities I was looking for in a new car. He made the process easy and not stressful at all. I recommend copeland chevrolet 100%!!! Everyone who works there are super helpful and always so nice!

Excellent dealership, great salesman

By akhk on 4/22/2019 at 1:30 PM. Helped by Russell Grant.

After seeing the Ford Explorer on this dealers website my husband and I decided it was a sale worth looking at. I will tell you we drove almost 2 hours to see this car and we were a bit nervous that it would not be what was advertised. I can not say enough about how pleased we were when we arrived. This dealership was immaculate, and all the staff were very pleasant and friendly. From the moment we met Russell Grant our salesman we could not have been happier. Russell was very pleasant, patient, listened to what exactly we were looking for in every aspect of purchasing a vehicle. He explained things well and did everything right to get us exactly what we were looking for. We have bought many cars in the past and I will say he is the best salesman we have ever dealt with. It was worth the 2 hour drive and I would have driven further to get the service we did with Russell and Copeland Chevrolet. I highly recommend this dealership and in particular Russell. I think you will agree if you visit the dealership and have the opportunity to work with Russell it will be a very pleasant experience. Karen

Lease Turn In Gone Wrong

By jacko768 on 4/1/2019 at 7:48 PM.

I tried to return my lease on 3/31. I was told I could drop off the truck anywhere by GM financial and my end of lease inspector. The salesman, Steve Buchanan told me their system was down and that they could not take the truck and to come back another time. When I asked him if there was anything else he could do to help, he stated that he didn't even have to take the truck since I did not lease it from them originally. He also stated that he could tell GM that their lot was too full to take the truck back. I guess he wanted me to drop it off in Detroit or something ;)... I even asked if I could just leave the vehicle overnight since I had no ride to go back the following day and he refused stating he cannot have the vehicle sit here (I have no idea why since cars sit there for service and sales all the time). I called GM today and they stated the salesman lied to me and that they should have taken the car. I can bring it to any Chevy dealer and even if their system was down that they could do a manual transaction to record the odometer and return. I really could have used a little help and this salesman really did not care to offer me anything but the door. I don't know if he was having a bad day himself, but he did not represent Copland Chevy well that day. Hopefully if I ever go back again the experience will be different, but I won't be going out of my way to go there again, that's for sure :-/.

I would not recommend this dealer.

Lease Turn In Gone Wrong

By jacko768 on 4/1/2019 at 4:26 PM.

I tried to return my lease on 3/31. I was told I could drop off the truck anywhere by GM financial and my end of lease inspector. The salesman (I think it was Steve Buchanan, an older bald gentleman) told me their system was down and that they could not take the truck and to come back another time. When I asked him if there was anything else he could do to help, he stated that he didn't even have to take the truck since I did not lease it from them originally. He also stated that he could tell GM that their lot was too full to take the truck back. I guess he wanted me to drop it off in Detroit or something ;)... Hopefully if I ever go back again the experience will be different, but I won't be going out of my way to go there again, that's for sure :-/. Update: Below you will see the dealers response to my review. Much of their response is simply not true. You do not need an appointment to drop off a lease. All you simply need to do is bring the car in and sign a return form with odometer reading (call Chevy or GM financial and they will confirm). This dealer only states to make an appointment so they can try to work a deal for a new vehicle (my opinion, not factual). It is very sad to see they are continuing to give poor customer service. April 01, 2019 Hello Jack. I hope all is well. Yesterday, was extremely busy as it was the last day of the month. The General Motors Lease Return system was down. We cannot do a manual return, which I apologize that GM told you this. Also, our store does lease returns by appointment only. Paperwork must be signed by the lessee at the time of lease return and that paperwork can only be generated from the GM System. Our lease lot is full right now. I apologize for your experience, but returning a lease vehicle is not as simple as dropping it off at a local dealership. If you live locally we can shuttle you home after the lease drop with advance notice. I actually attempted to do your return yesterday, but was greeted by this message. Thank you again for your understanding. If you contact me directly I can assist you with the return appointment and shuttle. Jason Pappas / General Manager - 508-586-7900 - Option # 1.

Service dept. does more harm than good!

By nurv2600 on 3/9/2019 at 4:08 AM.

I have had a couple of experiences with this dealer servicing my Chevy Volt, ranging from bad to NIGHTMARE. First off, I LOVE my Volt and it's a fantastic car; I've had it (pleasantly) serviced elsewhere, but circumstances were such that I HAD to bring it here (despite the ominous reviews). I brought it in to have a check engine light (bad EGR valve + cooler), and an issue where the car would start smoking - and smell (obviously) - when running on gas, addressed. This was under warranty, so there was no charge, and they said they fixed the smoking/smell issue (which they didn't). All told, I got it back half-repaired, 5 days late (it took well over 2 weeks for 5hrs labor). At least the check engine light was off? I notified them within a day or two, and when I brought it back, the car was now over the warranty's mileage, so they refused to cover it, even though they tried AND FAILED to fix it under warranty! They said "you said it was smoking before, right now we just notice a smoky smell; that's a different issue, and showed up after your warranty expired." LIKE I HAD TO ORIGINALLY SPECIFY THE SMOKE HAD A SMELL?! They said it was the front crankshaft seal, which I knew would be expensive, but told them to go ahead anyway, figuring I'd fight it later, and clearly I NEEDED my car (which they know, and obviously take advantage of). All told, I got it back 3 days late with a $2900 bill (!!!) for a REAR crankcase seal, a MUCH more intense and expensive job. They had it a total of 3 weeks for about 12hrs of labor. After getting it back, the smell started again IMMEDIATELY. I pulled over to do a general check, and when I got to the oil dipstick, I pulled it up and it was DRY! BONE-xxxxING-DRY!! I rechecked a dozen times because I couldn't believe it... THEY FORGOT TO REFILL MY ENGINE AFTER OPENING IT UP! God only knows what sort of damage was done to the engine! Thank God I had just bought a case of oil to do an oil change, the tiny 1.5L engine to TWO WHOLE QUARTS of oil to get mid-way up the dipstick! On top of that, the second I got the car back, I noticed a scraping sound as soon as I started moving. After looking around, I found they failed to reattach my underbody paneling, which was now DRAGGING BEHIND THE CAR AND THEY DIDN'T NOTICE! I actually had to get under the car with a knife and cut it off. My brand new car has now had its panels ripped off, wrong parts replaced causing more damage, and had its engine run without oil for 100+mi, and I only got it 4 months ago, in PRISTINE condition right off of a corporate lease. Copeland has thus far charged me just under $3,000 for the privilege of causing probably an additional $5-8k in damage (all while fixing nothing). If I could give them zero stars I would, but since I CAN take them to court, that's probably where we're headed next if they can't work with me + the original dealer (who's also PISSED about all this) by allowing me to either exchange this vehicle, or offer me an extended warranty to cover all the damage they've done (both obvious to the eye, and more "suspect" stuff like the engine).

I would not recommend this dealer.

Dee Smith Knows Her Job

By BobbyD on 12/16/2018 at 8:35 PM.

I recently took delivery of a Silverado 1500 Cajun Red. Great color. Double cab, standard box. My wife and I met Dee right away . Dee was the best car sales person I've ever dealt with. She made the whole process quick, easy, and painless. Along with my vendor discount she got all the rest of available rebates and before I realized it the truck was the best possible deal on the planet. It would have been completely foolish not to buy it. I highly recommend Dee Smith too everyone looking for a new Chevy.

Dishonest Dealership

By DisappointedCarGuy on 10/20/2018 at 1:57 PM.

I would like to share a story that hopefully helps others. My Daughter made an appointment to look at a used Suburban, which Copeland had for a month with a Salesperson. She and my 10-Month old Granddaughter started out on the 2.5 - 3-Hour 1-way voyage to look at this vehicle.Upon arrival at the Dealership my daughter asked for the Salesperson she spoke with and made the appointment over the phone. As she waited, there was a bunch of employees and that Salesperson who gathered around a computer. The Salesperson then approached her to apologize and stated another Salesperson had just Sold the Suburban from under my Daughter and he was sorry as he was at Lunch when this occurred. To try to make things better he tried to give her a gift card, which is a bunch of Crap!It cost her about $50.00 each way in Diesel fuel, driving her Husband's truck while she finds a new vehicle. I want to tell you why in my opinion the whole way Copeland Chevrolet dealt with this situation is wrong. If a client makes an appointment to see a vehicle it is the Salesperson responsibility to put a Hold Tag on the Vehicle and also go in the computer find that Vehicle Stock# and place that vehicle on Hold, that way if another potential client was interested all other Salespeople would see the Tag on the vehicle and the Flag in the computer, which would alert all other Salespeople to inform interested parties, that someone has an appointment to see the vehicle and they can take your Name and Phone # and contact to let you know if the vehicle is still available once the person whom had an appointment has looked at said vehicle. My Daughter wasted a whole day, took a day off from work, spent a $100.00 in gas,not to mention my 10-month granddaughter having such a long day, thank goodness she is such a great baby. To me the whole experience my Daughter had could have been avoided,if Copeland Chevrolet was a good Dealership! I won't nor will anyone in my Family ever recommend this Dealership to anyone. They don't deserve to be in the Vehicle Business or to be a Chevrolet Dealer for that matter! Hope this helps other potential client's.

I would not recommend this dealer.
