Honda Brand Sells Itself

Kerry Dillard is very professional, honest, straightforward, and friendly. When you get to him you have already picked out a car and dealt with a salesperson and figured out majority of details of the sale. Some people have had experience prior to getting to him or they thought that their credit would enable them to get something that is out of his control. The dealership needs some work around prompt customer service and acknowledging customers with the mindset that every interaction could possibly be a sale. Especially when you have an employee standing outside smoking a cigarette with two other people but doesn’t offer to assist or get someone to assist you when they are in the business of selling cars. A great man named Parnell( committed, focused, customer service oriented, friendly) assisted in getting Roy Peregoy (very kind, customer focused) to me when he realized I had received no help or assistance and was ready to go back to the service department without looking at any cars. Roy in turn apologized and got Tony Gunter (knowledgeable, friendly, customer oriented) to assist me. I had a great test drive just going out to see what the new Honda had to offer and actually became interested in purchasing. Then Roy Berry (friendly, flexible)actually saved the day because I was going to leave after a car I purchased from them less than 2 years ago with not 14k miles and in perfect certified condition (because it was barely driven except on the highway) was not even going to get 15k in trade. Hondas are supposed to hold their value so I couldn’t believe that was possible and I had bought 2 new cars in 4 years from this dealership. There was also a young lady who works with the Honda Care that was very helpful and offered items that would extend the life of your car without being forceful. They have an awesome service department who have always been helpful even when other Honda dealerships have not. Simple things that you may be having an issue with they will tell you how to fix it or do it for you without trying to charge you because it is just good customer service. The dealership offer lifetime oil changes and they normally wash your car when you bring it in for service. I can’t remember their names but they were helpful and professional and even got my oil change done faster than they thought and ahead of my appointment (even though they ended up keeping the car). If you are going to purchase a car you should see Tony Gunter who knows everything about the Honda’s and the whistles and bells and he is not pushy or Ifiok Umoh (previous salesperson that I thought had moved on to management elsewhere) who will work with you to get you in a vehicle and give you the best options available. A simple oil change turned into a car sale that almost didn’t happen because of poor customer service that started from the top of management but was rectified by Parnell who I believe works with the Service area and movement of new stock and then by Tony Gunter who walked all over talking to me about what the new Honda’s offered and taking me on a test drive even though I wasn’t going to buy(as you see that changed).

JUST DO NOT TRUST

-- If you have no time please read first paragraph -- They encouraged me to drive 3 hours to their location from Philadelphia. 30 mins before arriving, they called and said they were about to sell the car. I went back home. I DROVE 6 HOURS FOR NOTHING AND PAID TOLL, GAS. NOBODY WERE ASHAMED. NO BUSINESS MANOR NO KNOWLEDGE OF BUSINESS ETHICS. BE CAREFUL -------- FOR DETAILS IF YOU HAVE TIME -------- I called them for one used vehicle on Tuesday first time. I live 3 hours away from their location. They called me at least twice a day (4 days in the row) to encourage me to go there. I told them I will be there on Saturday, and we agreed for 4pm. While I was driving thru them, they called me 2 times on the road for confirmation of time. 30 mins before arriving, they called me back and said that they are about to sell car. I made a u-turn then 1 hour before arriving to my home, they (gentlemen name was Terry) called and said that where are you, aren't you coming ???. I said that I already drove 5 hours and paid tolls for nothing. Then manager (I think Glenn) called me said "if you come back on Sunday, you can buy the car" He even did not say sorry. It was incredible experience. We were talking on the phone with the manager, he even did not let me express myself whenever I was talking, he was trying to talk at the same time. I am not sure but I think It was a strategy. So basically I TRUSTED THIER WORD. RESULT IS I DROVE 6 HOURS FOR NOTHING PAY TOLLS AND GAS. I just want to let the people, who plans making business with them, know they don't have any business manor and they have no idea what the business ethics. They know only business -MONEY- When the manager called me, I thought that he felt ashamed but it was totally opposite. He even blamed me that I should not have driven that much..?? So, people there have incredibly different point of view. Just be careful. Thanks for reading.

Pleasantly Surprised

I am 22 and I've never had a new car before, i currently drive a Honda civic 2002 and thought it was time to upgrade and make my first new car purchase. A friend recommended I see Ifiok and I am glad I did. He knew everything about Honda's and found the perfect car for me. A 2017 Honda civic. Glen the manager was able to get me 0.9% interest rate so my payments were perfect for my budget. Kerry in finance went through all my paperwork and explained everything to me in a manner i could understand . I highly recommend this dealership for anyone looking to buy a new car.

Great Experience

I found a civic online I was interested in and put in a request for info. I was contacted within 10 minutes by Anthony and he gave me all the info I need so I made an appointment with him, The morning of my Appointment Glenn Williams the general sales manager called me to confirm my appointment and introduce himself and asked me to make sure and meet him while I was there. When I arrived Tony came and greeted me and showed me the civic and boy did he show me things about the civic I wasn't aware of. We went inside and sat down to go over the numbers. Glenn came over and introduced himself and worked all the numbers personally and got me right where I needed to be. Great place to buy a car

Great Customer Service

When I walked into the store I wasn’t 100% sure I was going to go through with buying my first new car. After days of shopping around at other local car dealers, when I walked into this store I met Rick Peregoy, the sales manager. Rick personally made sure that my experience with car buying would be simple and productive , Rick also introduced me to a Honda Product Specialist named Tony Gunter. We all sat down and went over the models of the 2017 Honda Civic that met all my requirements and my wants that I wanted with my new car. Rick then went over all the pricing along with my financial options to fit my budget comfortably and he exceeded all my expectations throughout the entire car buying process. While you start your car buying experience, I highly recommend you don't waste your time and just immediately see Rick Peregoy and the guys at DARCARS Honda. Exceptional customer service from beginning through the delivery of my brand new Civic!

Great customer service

The customer service here at Darcars Homda was great i met the GSM Glenn Williams who gave me a friendly welcome as soon as we cane into the dealership. He then introduce me to larnell Mcgill who did an excellent job on selling us our new car.Larnell also insisted on us comming back for a one on one training over the car on his day off. We then met the finance Manager Jamar Wills who did a great job hettimg is in and out in a timely manner. I then met the General Managed. Rick who also thank is for our business. I would like to thank everyone who help us with our purchase.I forgot to mention Roy also help us out as well him an my husband got the talking about the miltary and i though they wouldnt stop talking..Again i just wamted to thank everyone again we definitely will ne back for our second car.

We recently purchased a certified used car from Honda of Bowie. At the time of purchase we were very clear with both the salesperson and finance individual that we did not want any extended warranty or any other additional add-on services. As the finance person went over what we were signing not once did he mention anything about Honda premium car care for life. While looking through my papers I see that I was charged for this service. The finance person must have slipped a paper in while we were signing our papers. We are currently in the process of filing a complaint with headquarters in order to resolve the dishonest services provided at this facility. I would not recommend buying a car here to anyone...ever! I should also mention that the manager Roy was not helpful at all when we called to give them the chance to resolve this issue prior to taking it to the next step.

My car is being help Hostage

If I could give this dealer negative stars I would, this has got to be the dealership from xxxx. DON'T TAKE YOUR VEHICLE TO THIS DEALERSHIP.....I PROMISE YOU WILL REGRET IT. How in the world a Honda Dealership take 16 days to replace an airbag in a Honda Civic? At our wits end my husband and I reached out to Corporate Customer Service and was redirected to the GM Mr. Rick Barton. We called him several times, left him messages, and even had him paged by the dealership receptionist. I even went as far as to email Mr. Barton. It is now Wednesday June 28th @11:14am and we are yet to receive a call back from Mr. Barton. Laugh of the Day, on their website is the following quote “from the moment you step foot into our dealership, you'll know that satisfying our customers' needs is our number one priority; for top-notch service from highly skilled and trained technicians”, what a JOKE…. There is a serious disconnect with the Service Department; I am starting to believe that that my Honda Civic is being held hostage by Darcars Honda. If there is one thing I am sure of; they’ve trained their employees well on the “Art of Shifting the Blame” and giving people the constant run around.

This dealership will go above and beyond to do what they have to do for you... From a warm welcome to even feeding you food if they have to.. I will recommend ifiok the salesman and Jamar wills in finance he will make your car buying experience easy.

Worst Customer Service EVER

This guy is literally the worst. Deceptive and misleading practices. Said he wouldn't run out credit but he had 3 lenders run it when we already had our pre-approval letter from our credit union. He also talked about employees and customers right in front of us. It was the word customer service I have been given in a very long time. Buying a car should be a happy experience but we left frustrated and feeling like we were taken advantage of. I do not recommend this guy or Darcars Honda of Bowie.

Find Keith, DO NOT DEAL WITH ONE OF THE SALES MANAGERS

I wish I can do two separate reviews. One for the dealership in general, and one for Keith Harris. I really LIKE Keith - he was extremely helpful and I feel like he goes above and beyond for his customers. HOWEVER, the rest of my experiences at this dealership were not ideal. After my car got stolen, I went there to personally have my warranty canceled since I hadn't used it and I could still get a full refund. I spent so much time! I even went back a second day. The finance person NEVER did actually cancel this warranty! I looked up how to do it myself, and found out that finance people get a cut for every warranty sold! I went through HondaCare myself, explained the situation to them, so they canceled my warranty themselves. Also, the sales manager (I forgot his name), was extremely rude and abrupt. I did not feel like a respected customer while dealing with him. He also MISLED me into thinking I was buying a certified pre-owned Honda from a Honda dealership, but when I walked out and asked for a SECOND key, I learned that there's no 2nd key because it wasn't a certified pre-owned Honda??? Lastly, while dealing with this sales manager, he showed me the base number for the car, and we agreed to lower it a bit. He showed me a breakdown of the costs on paper, with a lower price. HOWEVER, I was so stupid not to check the final number before signing - they had me waiting for the WHOLE day, and I was so tired, I just wanted to get out of there. THE NUMBER ON THE FINAL PAPER THAT I SIGNED WITH FINANCE WAS NOT THE SAME AS WE AGREED ON THE PAPER THE SALES MANAGER SHOWED ME. Imagine how much I felt conned when I found out - after my car got stolen, since I had to go through every single paperwork for that car. So if you still come here, LOOK FOR KEITH. HE WILL HELP YOU. AVOID THE SALES MANAGER AT ALL COSTS. HE IS NOT ONLY RUDE, BUT CONS YOU. Also, be wary of extra things that the finance person offers. He wants you to get them because he gets a cut!

Easy, fun, and friendly!

We were very pleased with our experience with DarCars Honda in Bowie and especially with our salesman Mike Murphy. Mike reached out to us via email in response to a web query we placed online and was responsive, easy to work with, and helpful throughout the process of identifying and selecting a car (all online). When we found the right car, Mike met us at the dealership, walked us through the car and all of it's features, and offered us advice that we found to be extremely useful. After a test drive, we were sold. The negotiation process was fair and straightforward, and ultimately we were very satisfied with our purchase from DarCars and our excellent salesman Mike Murphy. We could not recommend Mike highly enough and will pass along his name to our family and friends who will purchase Honda's in the future!

4th Honda from here!!!

Just purchased our 4th Honda from this Bowie location and two other family members have also purchased a Honda from there. We worked with Ifiok Umoh on this purchase and he arranged an excellent price on BOTH our Honda trade in as well as the new Honda HRV we purchased. As part of the customer focused process, Ifiok took the time to explain to my wife and I ALL the features of our new HRV; he demonstrated how to use the technology (lane watch and the ability to use voice commands are great), synced the phones, and went over the users guide, and the personalized settings for the vehicle. Ifiok also urged us to contact him with any questions we had or to stop by and see him for any remedial training we needed to enjoy all the features on our HRV. The managers on duty Glenn and Rick took the time to come over and thank us for our purchase, the entire process was completed in a timely manner and Jamar lined up all of the paper work for us to sign and quickly get on our way. Should also note if you need service on your Honda see the great folks in the service department. They offer evening hours for service which works best for us and Mohamed Jalloh and his colleagues have taken great care of our Honda maintenance needs and questions. Looking for Honda Sales or Service ... see DARCARS Honda in Bowie!!!

Excellent Dealership

We purchased our 4th car from this dealership. Our salesman, Ifiok Umoh is the BEST! He is very knowledgeable and great explaining every part of the vehicle and working with us. Every person we have ever dealt with has been friendly, courteous and helpful. I would definitely recommend this dealership and especially, our salesman, Ifiok.

It's been a nightmare

I have never met a group of more dishonest people than here. I was in the process of purchasing a car with salesman Mike Murphy after agreeing upon a price with Ken K. The price was agreed upon, the paperwork was done, and I was told to pick it up on the following day (Tuesday). Between the time this happened (6:27 PM on Monday) and the time the dealership closed that night (9 PM), they sold the car to someone else. Nobody even bothered to call to inform me of this. Then, Mike Murphy tried telling me they had another of the same car and kept trying to get me to come in. I asked for pictures of it and it was not at all the right car. When I mentioned this, he got very angry with me and blamed me for them selling the car I wanted, which is completely ridiculous. I emailed the general manager about this, and later got a call from the sales manager (Ken K). He fed me some lines about miscommunication and all that, but I didn't buy any of it. They used me in negotiations with someone else to get them to buy the car well above market value. I told Ken I would give them the opportunity to earn my business. He called me later in the week to discuss some things about purchasing a car. We left off with the understanding he would call me later that evening or early the next morning. Four days later, I still haven't received a call, despite me calling him multiple times, leaving a voicemail and a message with the receptionist. I have been trying to purchase a car for over a week now, and they are completely unresponsive and dishonest. They also caused me to miss a trip home to visit my family, as I planned on driving home to New England after I was told to pick up the car on Tuesday and didn't buy plane tickets for this very reason. I would not recommend this dealership. They treat their customers with little respect and use slimy business practices.

Never got a call

I had just moved into the area and tried to schedule an appointment twice for my very important air bag recall since I didn't have time to do it during our move. I called and talked to the appointment coordinator twice, letting him know that I had tried in the past to schedule this with them. I was told that the service advisors handled this and that they would be be giving me a call. I never received a call back after 4 tries. Called another Honda dealer and they scheduled me on the spot. Bad business model folks. I was a service advisor for another brand for 4+ years. Not calling people back is the number one complaint, and a good way to get a terrible CSI (Customer Satisfaction Index) score. This needs to be addressed. Fortunately for me, I never had to deal with them in person. I'll take any future business to another Honda dealer, even though I live less than 5 miles from this place. ***EDIT: Received a nice phone call from the service manager responsible for the emails sent from the appointment coordinator I spoke to. He had been out of the office and therefore did not receive/forward the emails during his time off over the holidays. I revised my scathing 1.5 to a 3 star review, since they made the effort to email and call me quickly about the dropped ball. I will consider giving them a chance should I need something in the future, barring my visit to Annapolis Honda this week. However, it should be noted that when this kind of system is in place, steps should be taken when someone will be out of the office to forward these emails/calls to someone else so that the customer is not left hanging.

Never will go back here again!

Went there to buy a new car on 31oct16. They did not honor my usaa true car price. Spent over 5 hours there trying to get the price where it should be, they never did lower the price of the car, just gave me more for my trade in (which they were supposed to pay off). However, left there happy and excited about my new car. Then 5 weeks later, got a call from finance that there was still paperwork we needed to sign to get my 500 dollar military discount. I then realized they had not processed any paper work, I wasn't going to get my tags in time or payment book AND my car I traded in was not paid off!!! Went in to sign papers and was assured my car would be paid off. I then got late payment notices from my car loan bank and it is going to affect my credit! Now it is 7 weeks later and nothing has been resolved, still have to pay off the car I traded in and no update from HONDA.

We have been cuisines at this dealership for years, first as Honda of Bowie and now as Darcars Honda of Bowie. We go for service and have purchased cars from there. The service is always very good. Mike Wolyn recently sold us a vehicle and he was great. He's funny, friendly and a very nice guy. We came late to look for a car and he stayed with us, answered our questions, helped with everything. We are very happy with our new purchase and will continue to go there.

Car buying wasnt awful!

I needed to purchase a new car because my car had been totaled in a car accident a week before. I chose Honda because of their consistent quality. I had never been to this dealership. I have lived in NY my entire life. My expectations were not high regarding the purchase process. I have been surprised in both the process and everyone's behavior. I was treated with respect, no one tried to bulldoze me. Asia, my salesperson, was particularly helpful,as I have a disability. I was happy with the terms and now am the proud owner of a CRV. I don't know everyone's names who helped with all the details but they also were great. The money man, the business woman who had me sign a bunch of papers to sign. Asia knows their names. They all were great! Definitely not a NY experience. Dacars Honda in Maryland was so much better! Thank you!
