Service dept has poor customer service skills

By 2011 AudiQ5 For Sale on 6/7/2018 at 9:52 PM. Helped by Vickie.

Had my 2011 Q5 serviced here for check engine light and brake light. First there was no communication on their part after having the car for 10 hours. Was it ready? Was it not ready? Did it need work that would require additional time at dealership? Be prepared to call for any and all updates. I dropped my car off at 7:30 am, had not heard a peep by 5:30 pm until I called to see if I would need to find another ride to work the next day or if my car was ready. I was told they would need another day, which was fine but would have been nice to know. I did receive a call the following evening to let me know what the diagnosis was. Another two days pass never heard another word until I showed up to get my car. I drop $700 bucks for plugs and coils. They pull my car around and I go to crank it and it won’t start. Then I’m told they would check the battery for me (how kind). Wait 30 more minutes and they tell me for another $400 they will replace my battery. NO THANKS!!! You’ve had my car for four days and no one bothered to check it or even call me and say my battery was going bad! I’ll never spend another nickel here nor consider buying anything from Dean McCrary. I should also note 12 months ago I spent $1900 for front and rear brakes and rotors at Dean McCrary and 15k miles later I need more front brake pads for $600 more?? No thanks Dean McCrary Audi. Why would any one have the dealership replace brakes/rotors if they will not honor their work one year later?! If you’re ok being treated as if your hard earned money is nothing and you owe them something for servicing your car, then this is the place for you. Also the waiting area is nothing to write home about for the money you spend there. Your local Trax Tires has a nicer lobby area than this place. I can not imagine the money people pay for a Porsche here and the disappointment they must feel when they are sent to this closet sized employee break room to wait for service.

I would not recommend this dealer.

Hit and blamed!!

By Jennifer on 4/6/2018 at 6:37 PM. Helped by Manager.

Today my fiance and I went our kids to pick up several parts. We parked in the back and my fiance went inside leaving me and the kids in the car. About 20 minutes later my kids and I are re-ended by an associate parking another customer's car they were working on. The associate checked to see if there was someone in the driver's seat and quickly walked off when they thought no one was in the car. I called to let my fiance know what happened to let them know inside. Later he was approached by the manager stating an adjuster would be there shortly to give us an estimate on what we owe for repairs. They did not ask what happened...didn't speak to me or the kids in the car....Just assumed and blamed us for them hitting our car. My fiance quickly corrected them but they didn't really recant until he told them we had been in the car the entire hour he was inside. They never truly apologized and did not offer to look over our vehicle. Obviously we are very upset and disappointed in their way of business.

I would not recommend this dealer.

By Discouraged on 4/15/2017 at 11:16 PM. Helped by Women who answered phone.

Talked to some women who kept telling me they weren't going to pay for the window that my neighbor broke with his lawn mower after several times telling her he was going to pay for new glass she told me I needed to call someone else about my problem She was rude and very misunderstanding and didn't care about my problem

Problem not fixed, No follow up

By thataway on 2/11/2017 at 4:07 AM. Helped by Paulette, Osborne.

Our Audi A6 (15,689 miles) gave a error code "ACC (automatic Cruise Control) and Audi Braking Guard unavailable, which was the complaint my wife gave to service advisor (Paulette Osborne). The car was taken in on Jan 30, 2017. The missing grill had to be ordered. The part came in on the 2nd, and the car was brought back on the Feb. 3. The left "grill" was replaced (receipt says right--which is an error.). Apparently when the "grill (part no. 4G0-807-681-B-989) had been stolen, apparently the sensor which determines distance from vehicle ahead was thrown out of alignment. My wife waited for about an hour and a half, and was told that her car was repaired. When she got in the car there was a beeping on starting the car: She went back to service advisor, a service tech, came said they left (?OBD reader?) hooked up--that was removed, told car ready to go. Upon starting, she found the same error code (ACC & Audi Breaking Guard Unavailable). My wife was then then told that she would have to bring the car back for a full day, and the estimate would be about $1200 to "Align the sensor". She was not given a written estimate for the rest of the repair. She was told that she would be contacted by Paulette when an appointment could be made, and a loaner available. No contact has been made in a week. I contacted our insurance carrier, and the information from Dean Mccary obtained was the only repair needed was the replacement of the grill ($236.13). No mention was made of the sensor needing to be aligned. Issues: No one told us when we made the second appointment that there was going to be a 3rd appointment of a full day necessary--It appears that the sensor out of alignment was totally neglected by the service writer and service department. The OBD sensor (?) was left in the car. My wife was told the car was fixed--it was not. The issue with the sensor was totally neglected. No one, except the survey (which was "very unhappy) has contacted us back from Dean Mccary. Our insurance will not pay, because the "estimate" for the alignment was not given to them, even though it was requested. We live over 50 miles from the dealer. When be bought the car, it was with a promise that when the car needed service, that a loaner would be brought from Mobile to Pensacola--and this has been done each time, until now. We are now told that loaners will not be given to out of state residents, and there is no longer a concierge service to bring the loaner and take the car to the dealer.

I would not recommend this dealer.

This dealer has no integrity

By Mase4comp on 9/7/2015 at 4:42 AM. Helped by Bill Ford.

Bought a car from them in an auction over the internet. They sent me an acknowledgement and a form to fill out to complete the transaction. Nothing further happened. When I called, I was told that I did not bid enough to buy the car, despite the fact I won the auction. They never did honor the auction, but it got worse. They filed an unpaid claim against me despite my trying to pay for the car repeatedly. I later found out they successfully had their negative feedback rating restored because it looked like I did not pay. To use my reputation to restore theirs after such a bad transaction is almost beyond words to explain how despicable it was. They just have no integrity, and surprised they are allowed to do this to people.

I would not recommend this dealer.

I live 2 hours from dealership. went in test drove q7tdi...

By 1234william on 7/16/2013 at 9:10 PM. Helped by sales.

I live 2 hours from dealership. went in test drove q7tdi talked with sales person very nice guy. did my research called back worked out a deal. they met my out the door price. I went got cashiers check drove 2 hours back to dealership and the sales manager said well we need to go up $1500.00 on the price. after I walked out an got almost home got call from a different sales manager "well we will honor that price if you come back". well they changed the deal on my first trip so why would I think they would honor it on my second. my advise don't trust them even when you have it in writing. they play games and waste your time.
