A dealership that owns its mistakes

I was sent a quote via email that was way below invoice and instead of letting me walk the Dealership honored their written quote. Aly my sales rep and Eddie in Finance are very professional and had us in and out. The sales management and ownership stepped up to make things right. This dealership is unique most would have not given me the deal

Beware; service at your own risk!!

I brought my 2016 Kia Optima in for a standard oil change, everything was great until about a week after, they were the only ones to touch my vehicle, they do not tighten the oil drain plug tight enough and all the oil began to slowly drain out over that week!! I was broken down on the side of route 7. The engine had seized and they claim the alternator went bad. The vehicle was towed back there as they were the last ones to touch anything on it. All work was covered under the warranty but I was not offered anything for my 200 dollar tow bill. The work to put a whole new engine in took over a month and I was not being informed of the progress they had absolutely no idea when I would call. Not very knowledgeable or great with customer service. I would rather drive miles out of my way to NOT come here. Took my vehicle to Browns Kia and WOW!! WHAT A WORLD OF DIFFERENCE. I explained my horror story of what happened at Dulles Kia and the service manager walked me over to the tech who had my car on the lift and he showed me how everything was tight on the drain plug and even had someone else come over and double check his work IN FRONT of me to ensure everything was 100% tightened and ready to go. Beware if you’re taking your vehicle to Dulles Kia for service. Do it at your own risk!!!!

Complete run around!!!

We have a 2016 Optima which has developed serious engine problems. It's now almost 2 weeks later and we still do not have any answers to how and when they are going to fix the issue. Constantly given the run around between Dulles Kia and Kia corporation.

I would not recommend this dealer.

Lack of integrity from sales staff and management

I was looking to factory order a 2020 Kia. The sales person. asked me to consider the same model they had just received and because it was the last day of the month they were motivated to make a deal. I looked looked at vehicle and agreed liked it and provided all information asked for. Throughout my dealings the salesman kept stating he and his management were motivated to give e me a fair ans honest deal. I was trading in a 2014 Mercedes E350. 4Matic with sports package and several other options. After waiting for approximately 20 minutes, the salesman returned with an offer. His demeanor and attitude was caused a defensive stance on my part. He started by showing me numerous monthly payments and asked me which one was best for me. I asked to see the how he and his management arrived the bottom line to arrive at these numbers. The second number he presented was an instant cash price of $14,400 for my Mercedes. I told him this was unrealistic and where did they get this number from. He said from KKB. After some discussions I asked for my keys and left. I went home and logged onto KBB and entered the same information provided to Dulles KIA and got an instant cash offer of $17 195 and a trade in value between $18,499 and $19,987. I have snapshots to substantiate. Full disclosure, I bought my wife a 2017 Sorento from this dealership and did not experience this level of deceit or attitude and I will give my business to others dealers.

First and last Kia

Bought my Stinger GT1 about 7 months ago and experienced a few headaches dealing with the dealership (bait and switch, lies, license plates etc.). After the hassle of the actual purchase was over I thought my dealings with them would be as well. Boy was I mistaken! I performed a lease buyout a month into my lease. KMF (Kia Motor Finance) took my money with no issues and cashed that check in a week. It's been 6 months and I still don't have the title. Countless calls to KMF and multiple stories of when and why the title hasn't arrived later I was left with this gem from "The dealership filled out your title paperwork incorrectly and a duplicate was requested from the DMV. It will be 6 - 8 weeks before the title is sent to your credit union". After calls and going into the dealership, talking to multiple managers, they have admitted their fault in this matter. However, even with them admitting fault, there has been no resolution and no call backs. This dealership really doesn't care past the sale of the vehicle. The last call to KMF resulted in them indicating they had the title but are not authorized to release it or overnight it to me or my credit union. KMF is telling me the dealership is at fault for this and before they stopped communicating with me, the dealership claimed it was KMF's fault. Last I checked it's all Kia to me. Finally, after I thought everything was finally over, I got a letter from the bank this weekend. The "corrected" title was sent to them but it now has the wrong names on it after explicit instructions were sent to both KMF and the dealership on what the title had to say since day one. So I have a trip to the MVA today to correct this and send them the corrected title. This dealership and KMF are a joke. Avoid at all cost. Will never buy another Kia!!!

Always friendly and accommodating

DULLES Kia got me in for an oil change quickly. They were friendly and accommodating. Explained the items that I needed to be concerned about and provided estimates. It did take a little longer than expected to check in when I arrived and for the service to be completed. They have a nice waiting area so I was able to relax and answer emails. Scott checked in with me during my wait to see if there was anything I needed. Will use again, but will be mindful in my scheduling that they may not be able to finish in the time given.

Repair of an electrical issue

A short in the door-open sensor was draining the battery. Dulles repaired the problem in two days. They also used their shuttle service to pick me up when the repair was done. Professional all the way around.

And when it looked like I might be late to pick up my son from school, they provided me with a loaner car so I could pick up my son and then return to pick up my car when the repair was completed. My experience was varied. I had my car towed there at 9 a.m. in the morning. I had to fight to get information about my car through the service representatives. It took 7 hours for them to let me know what the issue was, and that was after me having to call them. They also tried to make minor issues seem like huge problems. When I went in to speak with them and drop off the part, I spoke to the mechanic who was working on my car and he was absolutely wonderful. He was very straight to the point and gave me honest answers. After dealing with the mechanic my experience was wonderful. It was just the service representatives that was terrible.

I would not recommend this dealer.

Great car buying experience

I would highly recommend Dulles Kia to anyone in the market for a new car. They were honest and upfront with me during the whole buying process. I want to especially thank my salesman Nathaniel Montanez for his honesty and knowledge of the vehicles I looked at. He was able to find me exactly what I was looking for and went through the setup of everything in the car before I left. The business manager Rebecca Salyer explained all the numbers for me and was very helpful and efficient in getting all the paperwork signed and me out the door a happy customer. Give Nathaniel a call if you are in the market for a Kia or Subaru. You will not be disappointed.

I kept waiting for them to try and gouge me somewhere in the price and it never happened. I came to the dealership with a TrueCar quote that I thought was fair and they honored the deal. I walked out the door with the price I wanted to pay. No dealer in my local area could match their price for the Kia Niro so I drove over 100 miles to do business with this dealership. They were a pleasure to deal with. There wasn't any high pressure upselling that is prevalent at other dealers. Angela spent a lot of time going over the features and technology of the vehicle (there are many in this hybrid model). A pleasant experience overall. Thanks.

Poor Service Department

After purchasing our Sedona, we had to have the rear hatch door repainted due to scratches that were in the paint upon purchase. To start, we had to have a rental car due to the time it would take the body shop to paint. The rental car was filled with trash from the prior renter and cups with coke or something left in the back, it wasn't cleaned out from the prior person. The body shop never put the lettering back on the car after painting it. While I had a recall recently, I asked the service advisor to please schedule the body shop to put the lettering on while the car was there. My appointment was Wednesday and while I was waiting, I was told the part for the recall had to be ordered and that while the car was back on Friday for the recall, the body shop would come out and adhere the lettering. During the 5 1/2 hours of waiting for the part to be installed on Friday, the advisor told us that the body shop gentleman left the dealership with the lettering in the car. Every conversation with him regarding our lettering, the body shop guy was blamed. I was spent at this point having had to wait so long for the repair, (apparently we were told that the service man broke some parts installing the new part and had to wait for new clips from Fair Oaks) so a 1.5 hour job turned in to 5.5 hours. When we left the dealership, we specifically asked Scott, our advisor to have the lettering mailed to our home, he said he would do that that day. After waiting 5 days and receiving no lettering, we called on 2/22 and left a message for Scott. The next day after no call back, we called again and Scott asked us if we wanted them mailed?????? We were floored, had he not remembered our conversation a week ago! We asked him if the body shop guy was still driving around with our letters!!!! We asked for the phone number to the body shop guy. We called him and the body shop guy basically called Scott out because the lettering had just been ordered on 2/22 and the current day was 2/23! He said that he had never been driving around with lettering, that he had just received the notice for the order and he had no knowledge that it was supposed to be mailed! He brought them to our place of business that day because we told him that we would just attach the lettering ourselves, apparently it was a difficult task for the dealership to handle. What should have been an easy task turned into lies and the run around from the service department. The body shop guy was open and honest and just as confused as we were. Since we bought our new Kia, every interaction with the dealership has been horrible.

I would not recommend this dealer.
