And, the madness continues

By CErickson on 4/11/2018 at 4:42 AM. Helped by Frank Nicolosi.

And, the madness continues. This AM, I received a voicemail from Frank Nicolosi, General Sales Manager, Earnhardt Ford, Chandler, AZ, asking if I "would be so kind as to return his call". Much to my chagrin, I did. The 1st words out of his mouth were, "Let me be clear, we will NOT be selling the 2015 Yukon Denali to YOU". What? He called to abuse me further? In addition, he continued to barrage me with how I arrived at my figures. So, to be clear, their current advertised price for this vehicle is $47,995. The deal their salesman and his manager made with me, and, I guess, upper management, it would be, renigged on, was $46,970. So, if you are interested in this tainted vehicle and shoddy dealership, that might be a good place "to start". Unless you want an "education" in how car dealerships are like real estate agents, where upper management is "the seller" and can and WILL decline what their agent (salesman) has presented to you, the buyer, my advice is, just steer clear. It is exhausting. I have never felt so violated as I have in this undertaking with Earnhardt Ford. All I wanted to do was buy a vehicle.

I would not recommend this dealer.

Worst dealership I've ever dealt with

By Michael Kothe on 3/25/2018 at 6:55 PM. Helped by Ron Q, Max Wilson and the General manager (don't remember his name).

I went in to look at a 2013 F150 this past week for my mom. After I test drove the vehicle they(Ron Q, and Max Wilson) immediately started badgering me to buy the truck, even offering to pay my deposit just to get me to sign papers that day. I can't count how many times I told them that the truck was for my mom and she had to approve of it before I purchased, yet that didn't stop them from practically begging me to buy right then and there. I decided to leave and think about the deal which led to Ron calling me over 10 times and texting me 5 times over the course of the next 24hrs. I do understand it is their job to make a sale happen, but what they were doing was more like harassment than anything, I even talked to their GM about the situation and he didn't seem to care at all, he maybe said 10 words during our 5 minute conversation. Ultimately I went across the street to freeway Chevrolet where I had the complete opposite experience and actually purchased a 2013 expedition from them. All in all, unless if you like having sales guys pretty much attacking you to get their sale then I highly recommend staying away from Earnhardt Ford.

I would not recommend this dealer.

Terrific service department

By Mac on 2/24/2018 at 6:44 PM. Helped by Eric Fuzy, Eric Buttrey.

My 2008 6.4 DRW king ranch died. Had it towed to Earnhardt service. Eric Fuzy met me and right off the bat told me they could not get to my truck for several days. That was fine with me. in between days off Eric Buttrey kept me informed. Was never kept in the dark they called me every day to let me know the progress of the repairs. Got my truck back as scheduled, cleaned. They did some extra work upon my request and still got the truck back on time. I will be back!!!

5 "'COMPLIMENTARY' OIL-CHANGES" WERE DISHONORED!!!

By #beingbullied on 10/22/2017 at 6:40 PM. Helped by NONE..

On March 9, 2017, Earnhardt Ford responded to our review, "In this particular situation, however, we believe we have gone above and beyond to please this customer to the extent that we furnished them with a 50"HDTV, as well as five complimentary oil changes. The customer, in turn, signed a statement confirming that they were completely satisfied with this resolution. Nevertheless, when the customer returned to the dealership demanding free floor mats for their vehicle (which did not come with it, nor does the factory make them for this particular model), we were able to find a set of floor mats from a different model that happen to fit quite nicely." I, recently, had an oil-change through the purchased maintenance-plan. Considering that it was mentioned on the dealership's response, I showed the signed-paper, and I asked whether the 5 complimentary oil-changes could be added to the purchased maintenance-plan. So, the service staff contacted one of the signatories, Joe. Then, somebody came to the Service Dept., and he talked to the staff. The staff told me that the sales-supervisor couldn't honor the 5 complimentary oil-changes (due to the "'BAD' REVIEW" (that was posted on this website). During the purchase, I was being told that there was a 30-day warranty (to return the vehicle if "no 'satisfaction'" was guaranteed). At the time, I got the vehicle, and, when I was driving home, there were certain things that prompted me to decide to return the vehicle. Within the seven-day period, from the purchase, I had a meeting with Joe; the floor-mats/other issues were mentioned. Then, Joe offered to find 2 floor-mats. After this, I asked for the offered 2 floor-mats. The transaction happened in January, and we received the 2 floor-mats in March, after numerous follow-ups. They let my husband sign a statement, confirming that the customer was "completely 'satisfied'", without providing the 2 offered floor-mats. Upon receiving the two floor-mats (in March), Marcelo said something to me (it was discussed in the previous review). In the beginning, I did not plan to write a review, but, upon receiving the 2 floor-mats, I decided to write a review, due to an UNBEARABLY-BAD EXPERIENCE. TO "SET THE RECORD 'STRAIGHT'", I DID NOT RECEIVE 5 COMPLIMENTARY OIL- CHANGES, BUT, INSTEAD, PURCHASED A MAINTENANCE PLAN.

I would not recommend this dealer.

SO MUCH BULL! Walk/Run Away from Earnhardt Ford!

By Zinklink on 9/14/2017 at 4:24 AM. Helped by Mel, Nice Woman, and Jose "How do you like that Ford?" Sales Guy (Answer: I hate it.).

SO MUCH BULL! WALK OR RUN AWAY FROM EARNHARDT FORD! I went to the service department with a concern about a warning that was showing up in my Escape and an issue with starting the car. I had brought the car in two weeks ago and Mel had helped me with a recall and a broken door latch situation. He also saw a crack in my window and suggested working with my insurance to replace my windshield, which we did. I was hopeful to get the same kind of service from Earnhardt Ford - the "No Bull Since 1951" place - and Mel with my current problem. NOPE! DIDN'T HAPPEN. I pulled into the service area and a nice woman approached me and I told her that I would like to speak with Mel. I briefly and a bit briskly told her my problem with the car and that I came in person to speak with someone and couldn't leave the car today. She went and tried to get Mel, but he wasn't immediately available. She came back and told me and tried her best to pass time until Mel appeared. I told Mel the issue and he suggested that we test the battery and so the nice woman did that and then printed out this slip that said that the battery needed to be replaced. I looked at Mel and said "I am aware that my warranty expired." and he interjected "Yes, 11 days ago.", but I looked at him and said "Can you help me out here?" He said "No." Ok, some of you will say...well, if your warranty was expired - he doesn't have to help you. But come on - I had just had it there. I asked him if they checked the battery when I had been there 2 weeks ago. He said yes and I asked if they had the slip saying it passed. He said "No, they only print them out if it needs to be replaced." He walked away and I stood stunned for a minute and then realized - He's really not going to help me. He really isn't going to take care in trying to keep a customer. He really didn't even offer to help me replace my battery or do any diagnostic tests and have me pay for it. He is really just walking away. So now I am encouraging you to do what Mel did - WALK AWAY FROM EARNHARDT FORD! DO NOT BUY CARS THERE! - Maybe check out the Toyota dealership down the road or drive a little further to Berge Ford or Chapman Ford or San Tan Ford. DO NOT HAVE YOUR CARS SERVICED THERE! - Go to Ron's Service and Tire Center in Tempe, AZ. Tom and his team will take care of you. They are GREAT! Or if you need to use a dealership try Berge, Chapman, or San Tan and don't even consider Earnhardt. Earnhardt, the price of a battery and the labor to replace it would have cost you so little - was it worth losing a customer over? You could have even tried to work with me to buy an extended warranty, but you didn't. Mel, you failed.

I would not recommend this dealer.

Top-Notch People

By Happy buyer on 8/19/2017 at 2:35 PM. Helped by Max. Fihad.

Everyone knows people come first. Customers, yes, but at Earnhardt Ford it's easy to tell the salespeople are valued by management. Never have I had a buying experience like this! Courteous, warm, friendly, amazing. I was reluctant to shop here because it's a large dealership (Costco's buyer's program sent me here.) and I wanted a warm, cozy experience. Well, I got it in spades! Tex Earnhardt even let me take a picture with him! When my new car was ready they didn't just hand me the key. A man named Max actually sat in the car with me and went over all the bells and whistles. I was told to come back any time and they would answer my questions. Amazing service! I can definitely say, "Shop Earnhardt! You'll be glad you did."

I would recommend this dealer.

BrEAk Job (misspelling intended)

By TedfromWa on 5/17/2017 at 8:53 PM. Helped by Kevin Fontenot.

I took my truck in for service, and it was strange--we live in Washington now, but I am born and raised in the valley. I walked around the lot waiting for my truck, and Tex himself even came out and chatted with me, and I was pleased to meet him--had watched him on tv my whole life, and I told him so. How I would love to give a good review. My desire was to have basic brake pads replaced, and the job turned into a seized caliper replacement, and lots of other costs. I wouldn't mind that, especially, GRRRR, except that each time I entered the cramped overheated waiting room I had to ask for information, and always it was difficult to get an answer. Eventually we had to leave the truck overnight, and they didn't offer to drive me home, which is typical in these cases (in the rest of the developed world.) They bumbled around, realizing I had no way to get to where I was staying, and half an hour later found a van to drive me home. I appreciate that. The woman who drove us was very nice. When I returned the next day, they had worked up a list of items they suggested I do to the truck, and at least half of the items were already done recently--by a ford dealer in Bellingham Washington! You would think they could see on the database that this truck doesn't need a 787 dollar spark plug replacement, (500 dollars in Bellingham), because IT WAS JUST DONE A MONTH AGO. Today, I just got under the truck after returning from Phoenix, and the brake lines were not even run properly, and this is a 4x4 that could have scraped the lines right off. I would avoid this place like the plague. I am so sorry, Tex, you are a decent guy but these kids running the show are fools.

I would not recommend this dealer.

Best car buying experience I've ever had!

By jeremykrak on 4/22/2017 at 11:18 PM. Helped by Roger Cary, Michael Jackson, Joe.

The absolute best car buying experience I've ever had. I walked onto the lot, totally cold - Roger Cary came up to me and listened to my needs, I was about to leave and buy a used car at a competing dealership and they worked out a deal with me to get a Brand New 2017 Mustang GT for the same price as used. Circle back around for a bit, 2 days later before the sale had totally finalized, I realized I wanted the Performance Package - the sales team with Joe and Michael worked it out to where they brought in the exact same car with the performance pack from another dealer for me and got me exactly what I wanted! They didn't have to let me do that, but it happened, and I couldn't be happier! They all went above and beyond and I'm so grateful to the Earnhardt brand and family and will tell everyone to buy from Earnhardt before anyone else! Thanks Roger, Joe, Michael, Ryan and the whole team at Earnhardt Ford! (Oh yeah and they didnt give me anything to say this, I just really want to make sure people know how amazing these guys are).

I would recommend this dealer.

Harrassed by Marcelo! Unsatisfied Customer!!!

By #beingbullied on 3/7/2017 at 5:40 PM. Helped by Marcelo.

We purchased a new van from 2015. It was not registered in the state, but used for being loaned to customers and used as courtesy vehicle. The worst and regretful experience happened. I'm not planning to buy any car from them again, if my situation's not corrected. None of them told us, until the meeting with the Asst. Mgr., that somebody spilled something and they had to clean it up. After I mentioned that, while driving the van on the way home, there was a very strong smell of cleaning chemicals; it was more like a mixture of chemicals. It lasted for more than three days. It's not good for me, since I have respiratory problems. We bought 2 new cars before from them. They never had any issues. It was in the shop during the purchased time. Anyways, we brought the van back due to a fuel pump problem. We intended to return the van on or before the 30-day period because of the DISSATISFACTION OF MY EXPERIENCE, and I was NOT PLEASED TO DRIVE IT, but the Asst. Sales Mgr. said that we couldn't return it (mentioning the lemon laws that they took advantage of without considering other customers). Considering that there were no floor mats on the backseat floor, we asked them to provide us at least 2 floor mats. I called Joe, the Asst. Sales Mgr. He advised me to go to Marcelo. THAT WAS WHERE THE REAL ISSUE STARTED!!! While walking, I told Marcelo that I was there to pick-up the 2 new floor mats. Suddenly he replied that I was a BULLY and they didn't owe anything to us; he also said that I should not be teaching my daughter to be a BULLY. My daughter is a witness for everything he said. I responded that I was here to pick up the 2 new floor mats. I already called Joe. He kept telling me that I was a bully and they didn't owe anything to us over and over. This incident happened in the open public area. I was feeling HUMILIATED AND EMBARRASSED. I was thinking of WHAT WAS POSSIBLY WRONG WITH HIS MIND. I was planning to do a quick stop-by and was being held longer than I expected. I had a busy schedule. I told him that the 2 new floor mats were part of the new van that we purchased. We purchased 2 new vehicles before, each of them had 4 floor mats. Considering this, two floor mats were not a lot and were very basic. Luckily, we asked for 2 new floor mats instead of 4 floor mats (considering that it's a van). He brought us in the office and called Joe and told Joe to let me hear that they didn't owe anything to us. Does the Ford Earnhardt dealership sell their floor mats that are supposed to be part of the new, purchased vehicle? Is it part of the manufacturer's standard policy that the new, purchased vehicle has floor mats for customer/passenger convenience? I was aggravated with the situation, and he kept mentioning that I was a bully and they didn't owe anything to us. I told him that I'm going to report them to the Better Business Bureau. Joe told him to give us the 2 floor mats. He even mentioned that if it was him, he wouldn't give it to us. GOING ON TO THE NEXT ISSUE. I know that we all have snacks, such as peanuts. Marcelo had been eating peanuts. When he was talking, he kept spitting them out at me. It was extremely unsanitary, and, not to mention, very, very rude. Gross and unhealthy! After seeing this, I lost my appetite for lunch. It was not a good example for my daughter. Don't talk while your mouth is full (especially to a customer that you are assisting)! I would definitely NOT RECOMMEND THIS DEALERSHIP. THE PEOPLE THERE MAY SEEM NICE AT FIRST, BUT THEY REALLY ARE PUSHY, DISGUSTING, AND RUDE!!!

I would not recommend this dealer.

Unauthorised account withdrawal amounts cost $1450 n.s.f.

By Mike B on 3/4/2017 at 11:11 PM. Helped by Todd (senior loan officer was only one who was honest with me, I wasn't able to work with him, otherwise review would been different..

I had recently purchased a used vehicle from them. Was pre approved before I even took the drive, was ready to take delivery. After I explained to sales /loan officer down pmnt is not avail for 1/2. Weeks, no problem we can do promise art note for it. So that's when I drove down only to be told wen u being pmnt down ,we will roll you in your new vehicle. Sales informed me they can't do promise to pay , and original person I spoke with via phone was magical off that day, and couldn't be reached. 3hr I was there, only having make a 2nd and 3rd trip. Down . At the end when I waited on finance to sign , the salesman asked for down pmnt again, this time yelling at me how I wasted his time, .. excuse me.. I said, I told him 3 times I'll have it on Monday. We will do promise note . And gave copy of debit card info, .. it's been a non stop hassle , due to Earnhardt's continuously running my card for pmnt , Inc other amounts I didn't authorise for. I called asking not to run card ,BC I just pulled cash from account since I'll be there on Sunday to pick up wife's car that was left there and I'm bringing cash. No sooner did I hang up the phone I get a text from my bank informing me that a withdrawal transaction buy Earnhardt was authorized for the amount of the down payment and I just have gotten off the phone with Earnhardt asking them not to because I'm bringing cash they ignored it. Since then for the past three weeks they've been running my card racking up multiple overdraft charges every time they do an authorization any given amount through my credit union I am charged $35 each time 16 charges now they're threatening me with messed up voicemail stadium that the lender wants to truck back and I need to comply or turning report the car still I called the finance company inform them of the situation they said my loan is funded Earnhardt has nothing to do with the loan anymore and it's now become harassment every week every day since January 20th 2017 still to this day I'm getting calls they got their money now they're harassing buyer beware do not buy from Earnhardt far as I'm concerned they owe me all my overdraft fees before I retain my attorney on Monday comma very unprofessional I was treated like a piece of dirt and issues with the front end of the truck we're never fixed nor will I be by then it came out of my pocket to fix them. My advice run from Earnhardt's ,do not buy. They're dishonest unprofessional Liars and con artists I would never treat my customers this way and that's why my business has 5 out of 5 Stars 4 reviews... Buyer beware. (Mike B)

Bad Business Practices

By totegote0987 on 2/11/2017 at 3:21 AM. Helped by finance manager.

I purchased a new Ford Explorer. I had them arrange the financing on the vehicle. I was recently applying for a home loan and the mortgage office told me of 10 credit inquiries that were put on my credit report. I also found out from Experian Credit Reporting, that every time my credit is checked, I loss 4 points off my FICO score. I never authorized this many hits on my credit and have written numerous letters to Tex Earnhardt with never a return from any of his employees. I recently hired an attorney to handle this on my behalf, maybe this will wake Tex up enough to do the right thing.

This is a bad place to buy a vehicle. The vehicle I sat in and went over on the patio is not the same that I received. Upon trying to resolve this issue I was called crazy, not right, did I need help, and much worse. The GM John was less than help full and wouldn't give me the time of day. He quickly passed me off to service. they did absolutely nothing for me. I proceeded with a complaint with Ford Motor Co.. I am waiting to hear back from them. STEER CLEAR FROM EARNHARDT FORD. They have a 86% dissatisfaction rate with the BBB. I wish I had looked that up first. They need to make it right with me

Never go to this dealer

By jihry on 7/28/2016 at 7:50 PM. Helped by Service.

I am from Waco Texas and stated a 25 day road trip. I was traveling to Chandler AZ on my first day. My service engine light came on in El Paso but the truck ran fine so I drove it to Chandler. On the way I called Earnhardt Ford service Dept and they said they could not look at it for a week. I asked what a traveler who needs service should do and the lady suggested I go to autozone. I drive a 60k King Ranch F150 and I sure as heck did not buy it from Autozone. I called Berge Ford and they fixed my truck on a Friday before I could even return to Chandler from the Pima Air & Space Museum in Tuscon.

Professional, knowledgeable, committed to good service

By Chandler Native on 6/1/2016 at 3:37 AM. Helped by Travis Drysdale, Gazwan Beirut.

We purchased a 2016 Escape from Travis Drysdale. Travis is a pleasure to work with. No BS. Just a fast efficient and GOOD deal. We were treated with respect. This is the second vehicle I have purchased from Travis and the third from Earnhart Ford. I will continue to come here and will recommend them to anyone who asks. One final word about the financing department and Gazwan Beirut in particular. By far my worst experience at a dealership has come in the finance department (not Earnhart). This guy could teach them all something about how to treat people. He is a genuine professional. Thanks to both Travis and Gazwan and to Earnhart fpr employing them.
