Service Overcharges and Too Aggressive On Repairs

By Two Acuras on 5/7/2018 at 4:11 PM. Helped by No single employee.

I've had several situations such that I'll never go back: 1) My MDX is knocking on 90,000 miles which is a major service event. Ed Voyles Acura quoted: - Ethanol Treatment for $26 - Timing Belt Replacement for $1,500 - Rear differential service for $130 A quick Internet search suggested having this done was a good idea but for much less! I called Ed Jackson Acura and they quoted: - Ethanol Treatment: Free! (included in another service item) - Timing Belt: $899 - Rear differential service: $109 Needless to say, I went to Ed Jackson and saved over $640!!!!! 2) My MDX had a service message that the battery was bad. The service tech told me the problem was in the device that is in line with the battery cable that *detects* a battery failure (not the actual battery) and quoted me over $400 to replace it! The service message popped up only once and had all the earmarks of a "lets see if it happens again before we do anything as a test of the battery shows the battery is good so a very low risk don't-do-anything-right-now solution". A good service person would have told me my battery is fine (which he did) and let's see if we see that message again before we ask you to drop $400 (which he did not). He even seemed disappointed that I didn't want to move forward on it! 3) There were several other items (transmission service not done properly and denting the car during service (which they did fix but required another trip and I'm sure they still think they didn't do it which I'm POSITIVE they did as my wife knows EVERY scratch and dent on her car! Needless to say, my service business is now with Ed Jackson Acura moving forward! I could look past most of their issues, such as revolving service reps, but the $600 price difference in the Timing Belt, even when I mentioned that seemed high, was the straw that told me to look elsewhere. Too bad as all of our cars are Acuras and I don't see us changing that anytime soon!

I would not recommend this dealer.

Do not trust the collision center for repairs

By AngieR86 on 3/1/2018 at 11:59 PM. Helped by Rob.

I DO NOT recommend the COLLISION CENTER. Save yourself the headaches. Ed voyles Collision Center turned my situation into a NIGHTMARE. I went to Ed voyles to have my car repaired after being rear-ended. This place was great at first and everyone was helpful. They made sure to follow up with the insurance company when the repairs turned out to be more, they seemed concerned. I was confident that my car was in good hands. AFTER REPAIRS: Once the day to pick up my car arrived I was extremely happy by what seemed to be an excellent Job judging from the outside. WHAT HAPPENED NEXT: A week or so later there was an awful smell in my trunk. I didn't think much of it and assumed something may have spilled after taking out the trash that week. More Days passed. I go out and do groceries, open the trunk and it still smells weird. It wasn't until I took out the groceries and touched the bottom that I realized that the whole time I've had the car since the repairs it had been leaking water. It was getting moldy. THEN.... I called Ed Voyles the next morning. I brought the car in, they said that in the past (prior to me purchasing the vehicle from where I got it from) it had been repaired in the back and that the accident may have made it worse blah blah blah. (If there were any repairs done in the past I had no idea) HOWEVER, The point I tried to make is that after the accident I had absolutely NO leaks in the back of my car. After THEY fixed it, this problem started. BOTTOM LINE. Whether there were previous repairs or not why should it even matter when I got into an accident? I brought my car to be repaired and they messed one thing up in the process of repairing another. Anyway, They put some sealant to shut me up that day and off I went. SOMETIME LATER: Another week passed and more days. It begins to rain. All the water starts seeping in through my trunk. I was going crazy trying to figure out how this was still happening. I called that crappy collision center just to be treated with total disregard. I sensed a little hostility from MEG (who probably doesn't get paid enough to give a xxxx anyway) and got the run around. I went in person and cried my eyes out. Everyone was cold Rob, Scott and no one wanted to take responsibility for the crappy job they did. I've had to wash the interior a few times. This place only cares about one thing and that is cashing in on the insurance check. Once you drive off they wash their hands and you are on your own. AFTERMATH: I've taken my car to two different places this week and it all falls back on the s****y job they did. Water was leaking through the bumper they replaced and the tailights they removed and placed back poorly. I've had to pay out-of-pocket for my repairs after they collected almost three grand from the insurance company to "fix it" I have videos of my vehicle after the interior was taken out they clearly show the waterfalls these people left in the trunk of my car. Those weren't there before but Ed Voyles Collision Center didn't want to go through the trouble of fixing it properly OR TAKING RESPONSIBILITY OR doing the right thing by owning up to their mistake. Be careful when getting repairs cause you may end up with Niagara falls in the trunk of your car. This company is a joke. I am currently exploring my options on how to take action as I am VERY UNHAPPY and disatisffied.

Unprofessional, disorganized, incompetent.

By jacobcwillis on 2/1/2018 at 8:51 PM. Helped by Kevin Wynn.

Don't go to this dealership for service or sales. Buy a different brand if you have to, just don't go here. I've been twice for sales visits and 3 times for service calls. All 5 experiences were horrible. Systemic incompetence.

Greedy, Selfish, and Unsympathetic Dealership

By tvanderwist on 1/18/2018 at 2:22 PM. Helped by Sam.

I know reviews are often overreactions, but I am never going here again. I recommend everyone stays away, this place has ZERO empathy and is only concerned with taking as much money from you as possible. I had a maintenance service scheduled for Wednesday 1/17 and received a confirmation email Tuesday night, 17 hours before the appointment. When I showed up on Wednesday (a 45 minute drive) I found out they were closed due to inclement weather. I'm not upset about them being closed, I'm upset that NO ONE notified me of this. No email cancellation, no phone call. When I spoke to a representative the next day, he was unapologetic and only seemed interested in rescheduling me. He didn't care that I wasted my time driving to a dealership that was closed, and clearly had no respect for their customer. This place is greedy, unsympathetic, and unprofessional.

I would not recommend this dealer.

Needs Improvement

By mrtedweb on 9/22/2017 at 5:48 PM. Helped by Changes Each Visit.

Ed Voyles Acura is conveniently located and as a result has been servicing our TSX for the past 10 years. Sadly, a lack in customer experience has been growing and is becoming more noticeable with our recent visits. For example, consider our latest encounter below... After waiting an hour and a half for what was explained as a 'routine repair', my wife was informed that they needed until the next morning. Not a big deal (we're very understanding people, but better communication would have been appreciated). For some reason they were hesitant to offer a loaner. Luckily she has a loving husband willing to ditch his job at a moment's notice. The next morning (9:50AM) we arrived to pick up the car. Still not ready (once again, communication goes a long way). Thankfully, at this point, they were more willing to offer a loaner. Unfortunately, the loaner took 40 minutes to get ready. I had to ask to find out what was taking so long. Apparently the loaner was blocked by a fuel truck. Really? Seems somewhat amateur, but what can we do at this point? Once the loaner was ready, my wife slipped and fell on standing water in the service bay. She landed on her hip, knees and wrist. After glaring back in disbelief, the only concerned response from the nearby service reps was a softly muttered "sorry". After 10 years of loyalty, no question of "Are you okay"? Customer care, satisfaction and appreciation isn't on their radar. .

I recently went to get an oil change and a tune up and Qais Johnson took care of me and he was amazing! He made sure my car was cleaned washed and they did the job very well and quick! I love this place and I only trust Qais and Ed Voyles with my Acura! Great people!

By Plant lady on 5/30/2017 at 10:32 PM. Helped by Jesse.

Never have to wait more than 3 minutes with or without an appointment. One of our cars is 13 years old and the other is 6 years old. The cars are reliable and so is the service. Jesse has been taking care of my car more recently.

Plan for at least 2 1/2 hours.

By Two Acuras on 3/30/2017 at 1:07 PM. Helped by Changes Each Visit.

The service department is either understaffed, poorly managed, or both. We have two Acuras and the story is always the same. We make an appointment for regular service (never just "walk in"), someone who just started there eventually greets us, we need to sit down and take forever just for regular maintenance - which tire rotation is sometime included and sometimes extra, I wait in the "Internet Room" that is usually WAY TOO HOT and can hear all of the lame conversations of the service guys in the adjoining rooms, I sit and watch my car for 20 minutes or more before it disappears to the service area, 90 minutes or more later, some guy needs to find me and let me know what else they found wrong or it's almost done and being "washed", 15 minutes later car is ready. Even with an appointment, I've never waited less than 2 1/2 hours for a simple 5,000 maintenance.

Unbelievable terrible service

By CPasdabs on 1/30/2017 at 7:41 PM. Helped by Depress Kara.

I literally sat in the bay for 25 minutes, two people asked if I was being helped. My reply was the same,"Not yet" I was told by one person someone would be right with me and the other that he did not work in this department. I counted at least 7 people that I made eye contact with as I sat in my car in the bay with garage door closed I front of me. Talk about terrible customer service. This Acura dealership is 15 mins from my house and I'm constantly reminded why I should continue to drive the extra 25 mins out of the way to at least be acknowledged. Sadly after waiting all that time they still couldn't help me because they were extremely busy and understaffed. Some how that became the consumers problem which means no business. That makes sense?...or no cents, literally. Unless you have a free day to sit and wait don't make any plans even if you have an appointment. . The one good thing I can say is usually they have the snacks replenish for the customers that tend to wait there at least three hours average. Good luck if you decide to come here.

third bad experience; trouble scheduling; price was way off for routine maintenance; car not ready when promised; fluids not topped off and tires had five pound variance in pressure - had to argue with service guy that there was a problem with two tires losing air (surprise - they had nails in them). used to be fabulous. very disappointing.

I'd give 1/2 star, if I could...military customers stay away

By Mike T on 4/30/2016 at 1:48 AM. Helped by some old grumpy white guy!.

Took 3 tries, YES! 3 times emailing and calling to get someone who would work with us. At first very polite and confirmed they would honor USAA pricing and even give a military discount. However, they absolutely rip of on trade in. I am glad I never mentioned over 10k downpayment, prob would have ripped me off even more. Salesman was down right rude when I tried negotiating the $ of the trade. For an Atlanta size city, Voyles is definitely not competitive or understands what customers expect from a premium brand dealership. Regardless, went to another voulme sale dealer and received a much better deal, hint: they are the largest dealer in Atanta for Acura.

The Service Department is slow and not customer focused

By 2012TL on 12/7/2015 at 11:37 PM. Helped by Daryll.

I made an appointment for an oil change for my 2012 TL which is the last service of the prepaid service plan I bought when I purchased the car. The oil change took 2 hours and I had to get the service manager involved to get my car after 2 hours or it would have taken longer. They did not even check on an issue that I requested they look at. I have brought my TL in for service for the last three years and have received similar treatment. I wanted to give them a fair shake but can not recommend this dealership for their service dept. They are very uncaring and unprofessional. Steer clear of this dealers service dept.

Worst of the Acura Dealers I have dealt with

By hdtvguy on 5/15/2014 at 10:16 PM. Helped by Jeff.

The ironic thing is Ed Voyles Acura's Sales experience is one of the best I have ever had and I buy a lot of cars. The bad thing is this service department is a bunch of yo yos. They do incomplete work, then damage a tail light (at least they replaced that) and then can;t follow through. When they know you are not happy you mysteriously don't get the usual follow up "How was your service" survey and phone call. And some of the most unprofessional folks I have dealt with. Most of them in service answer the phone "Hello... I expect "Hello this is Jimmy how can I help you" or at minimum at least "Hello this is..." Best advice I have is to most definitely buy your car here, but get it service at one of the other Acura dealers.

I would not recommend this dealer.
