Easy, honest, friendly, fair

We worked with Mitch and Dan when purchasing our 2019 Subaru Outback. Mitch was awesome--not your stereotypical car salesman. He was honest, genuine, and incredibly helpful. It was clear that we were his priority. He worked with Dan to negotiate the price and package; we are happy with our purchasing experience. Eileen was also very helpful, friendly, and patient during the purchasing process. The car we wanted wasn't on the lot, so we had to come back a couple days later once our car arrived. Unfortunately, we were driving our new car off the lot when we realized that it didn't have a moon roof, which we specifically wanted. All of the test drives we did had a moon roof, but Mitch didn't realize that we were wanting a moon roof--we said we didn't want the navigation package, which we didn't realize includes the moon roof. Mitch felt awful and took full responsibility for the mix-up... We had already been at the dealership for hours, it was getting late, and we were starving and ready for dinner; so, we just took the car as is. We understand that things like this can happen, and we don't think any lesser of Mitch--we still recommend him. But we were bummed to not have a moon roof--and that is what we had in mind as we were negotiating the price. We later worked with Kayland and Jimmy to "make things right"--obviously you can't add a moon roof to the car, so we got a good deal on another accessory of our choice. Kayland and Jimmy made this process easy and enjoyable.

Pleasant experience

After owning a BMW X3 for 4 years, we were in the market for a new car. We were going to buy another X3 and had shopped around for a new one. But we also began to shop around for other vehicles. While we loved our X3, we were looking for a vehicle with updated safety features such as blind spot detection and lane assist. Living in New England, the car must have 4 wheel drive due to the snow and ice in the winter. Also, we did not pay to pay a lot of $$$$$ for those safety features We shopped around for cars that met these criterias. We decided to look at a Subaru because of all of the safety features, the 4 wheel drive, and Subaru's experience with 4 wheel drive. We thought we wanted a 2019 Forester Touring Model. Rosa helped us and was a big help in allowing us to decide what we wanted. However, Exeter did not have one available. We came close to visiting another dealer in another state. But we were drawn to Exeter Subaru because of the friendliness of the dealership plus it is a local dealer. That was a factor in our decision. We decided to look at 2019 Outback Touring that was in stock at Exeter. Rosa had the vehicle ready and we drove and fell in love with this car. We bought the car and are very happy with it. We feel this car is superior to the BMW as it rides better (does not have run flat tires) and is very quiet inside. The safety features included such as blind spot detection, lane assist, rear backup protection with the rear camera all help in avoiding accidents. Comparing the Exeter Subaru the BMW dealerships we have purchased vehicles from is a huge difference in attitudes. We felt we were welcomed at Exeter Subaru and that people wanted to work us. Highly competent and caring people. Thank you Rosa and Dan for working with us.

Best car buying experience

Exeter Subaru is one of the best dealerships we've dealt with in a very long time. Employees are very knowledgable, straight forward and personable. We left the dealership same day with our new Outback because we got a fair deal, they listened to our needs, answered all our questions and we didn't feel rushed or pressured at all. I see this dealership as our "go to" moving forward and definitely would recommend to others. Thank you to Kayland P., David P., Eileen B. and Darren C. for making the process so easy and for the great customer service. We love our Outback!

Superb experience

I began my search for new cars online. I spoke to and emailed Kayland to find out about special offers and to compare several Subarus with each other. She was so friendly, helpful, down to earth and professional. She gave me confidence that I would be treated well. My husband and I met Mitch when we went to the dealership. I can't say enough good things about him. He was gracious, professional, helpful, extremely attentive over the next several weeks. I highly recommend him to anyone looking for a car.

Smooth and Easy Used Car Purchase

My experience buying a car at Exeter Subaru was a great one. I started by setting an appointment for a test drive, Kayland was very respectful of my wishes when it came to contact (email only as it is tough for me to be on the phone at work). My appointment started off great as I was greeted by Kayland and introduced to Hannah as my sales person. Hannah worked with me and got a test drive going right away. She let me take as long as I needed on the test drive and answered all of my questions. After the test drive, we began the negotiation process as I was interested in the vehicle. Hannah gave me some initial numbers and I countered back with a number that I thought was fair for both sides. To my surprise, Hannah came back agreeing to my number immediately, negotiation took all of 5 minutes and was absolutely painless. This was much appreciated! Finance of course tried to sell me on some additional products (it's their job, I get it!) But they were not overly pushy and were respectful of my decision to decline some products. Overall, I was in and out in about 3 hours with a new (to me) car that I couldn't be happier with. I truly recommend the folks over at Exeter Subaru and appreciate their help in my purchase.

I highly recommend Exeter Subaru - both in terms of purchasing a car and having it serviced. I have just purchased my second Forrester and my salesperson, Hannah Fowler was very knowledgeable, helpful and excellent communicator. I compared prices for both cars and this dealership offered the best pricing and trade in values. The Service Team is outstanding- always great to work with! They go out of their way to make service convenient and thorough. The waiting area is clean and very comfortable.

Mitch and Eileen were excellent to work with. I felt no pressure whatsoever and we moved at a pace I was comfortable with. I was not entirely able to get the price I wanted, but in no way does that reflect on the professionalism and courteous manner of the employees. I feel I got a fair price for the car I wanted. They were very accommodating in my request to get a third party inspection prior to agreeing to purchase the car. I highly recommend purchasing a car from Exeter Subaru and plan to purchase cars from there in the future.

Good sails person not so good Detailing.

Detailing was not what i expected! Front light was burnt out. Car had a bad smell. Had nothing to do with the sails person at all.

Update of my One Star review

My original review was one star because we had agreed upon a deal and the next day the finance department called me because they "always try to get you a better deal." The loan rate wasn't as good as the rate I got on my own. Then I was told the price of the vehicle was contingent upon me financing through the dealer. This was the first I heard of it. I called the deal off. I probably would have been more inclined to listen to what they had to say if they had not started out with a price that had about $450 in document fees and more than $1200 for a wax and upholstery spray application. The Sales Manager called me a few days later to find out what had happened. I explained what I had considered to be a bait and switch. He assured me it was a miscommunication and he would honor the original deal. I am happy with the deal I got. I think other potential buyers should be aware that the document fees are excessive and can be waived. The $1200 wax job is another attempt to separate you from your money. After reading other reviews I noticed there have been a number of miscommunications. I appreciate the Sales Manager reaching out. I am not convinced the "miscommunication" is not their standard negotiation method. Stand your ground. It's your money.

New car

I have bought 12 or 13 Subaru’s from this dealership. My latest Subaru the engine failed so Ann and Dan and Christine let me have a loaner car while I negotiated to buy a new car from the same Subaru dealership. Letting me have a loaner car was exemplary service because I would not of been able to work without transportation and as a loyal customer I felt they tried their best to take care of me and make the transition as seamless as possible. My family currently owns four Subarus, I would not put my children in any other Vehicle
