For a Despicable Car Sales Experience go To GSL

GSL provided me with one of my worst car buying experiences during my 72 years on this earth. We live in the Windermere Valley and were looking to purchase a vehicle to replace our 2012 Buick Lacrosse. I chose a 2016 ATS Cadillac Coupe, (black with 15000 km) as our replacement, the car was advertised on Cargurus. I was contacted by GSL after indicating interest in this vehicle on the Cargurus web site. Rob Page of internet sales called, we negotiated a final price and was emailed a purchase agreement subject to a vehicle inspection and test drive. To my chagrin Rob had confused what vehicle I was interested in and had written up a sales agreement on a different vehicle......dumb almost stupid. We had been in touch with each other for nearly a week, during which time he made the mistake of referring to a SRX Cadillac as our vehicle of choice, there was no carry over of information from one day to the next.....GSL was confused .....maybe it was their first sale? During this week of negotiation and clarification I received two phone calls from women sales chasers asking me how things were progressing. Neither of them knew the vehicle I was interested in, what level we were at in making a purchase, nor did they make any effort to find out. In the final analysis the car Mr. Page was trying to sell us was a ATS sedan, blue in color with 50,000+ km ..........they still have the car on the lot which I am sure they will sell it to someone who is shopping for a 2006 yellow Volkswagen beetle with 120,000 km. Good luck we will not be back.

the young guy in the service

first, Dean showed me where the engine heater was..i learned a lot from him in just 5minutes...then comes the young guy from service, he checked my tires, tire sensors, reset everything, very friendly guy..i didn't get his name but nowadays you can not encounter people like this guy anymore...the best dealership ever! kudoos!

Took my car for a service got it back with big front damage. ...saying was bad paint. Not taking responsibility for what they caused. Unbelievable

Run.....Don't Walk From This Dealership

We have had nothing but trouble with our 2011 Cruze and this dealership. Today was just another example of poor customer service. We had our car there in Sept for a leak which ended up costing $700. Within a month the oil sensor light was going on although there was no evidence of a leak. My husband took the car in today at 7:00 a.m. and by 4:00 it still had not been looked at. Why bother making an appt if they can't fit you in? This has happened to us several times. After another call to the service manager, we received a call around 5:00 from the technician who said there was an engine leak. When we said it had been in for a leak six weeks earlier, he indicated it had nothing to do with the previous service. We have had so many problems with this car (2011) and so many issues with GSL. We have written to GSL and to GM Canada with previous complaints and received no responses. Customer service seems to mean nothing to them unless they are trying to get a sale. We will never, ever buy a GM product again and we will be looking to dump this car. We've bought all our vehicles from GSL in the past; a Saturn Aura, the Cruze and a Chevy van. When they continue to provide poor service and aren't willing to try and make things right with customers, you know it's time to find a dealership who puts the customer first.

Not Customer Service

Wednesday I had an out of province inspection done at this dealership. Thursday I picked the truck up, they gave me the wrong paperwork. So I spent an hour in line at the registry to find out I could not register the vehicle. Friday I received a voicemail telling me they had given me the wrong paperwork, I was out of town. The weekend came and went. Monday I called to get the paperwork delivered. Was told by the service manager that they had expected me to come by on Saturday to pick it up. They decided they would deliver the paperwork using their courtesy shuttle. That they did - but the guy would not get out of his vehicle - he asked that I come down from my office and sign their copy in his shuttle. Wonderful customer service.

Bad service

Had an appointment for oil change. The said it will take one hour. I clearly explained that my time very valuable and I can wait only one hour. It took them more than 2 hours to change the oil!!! When I came to check why it's so long no one was even working on my car. As a result I had to cancel very important meeting. Will never come back here again!

Unprofessional and unreliable

I had several bad experiences here. The worst was when I had my tires changed and they drove my vehicle of the side of the ramp and shredded one of the tires. They said the service guy was in a hurry and hadn't paid attention. They even messed up a simple thing like repairing a key fob. They were defensive about the problems they caused and made it clear that they didn't care very much.

I would not recommend this dealer.

Disrespect

Phoned service and discussed problem with service representative. Dropped vehicle with GSL for service and asked for a diagnosis of scraping-rubbing noise. The vehicle has been serviced at GSL since new. Reviewed diagnosis over the phone the following day and the proposal. Authorized two of four tasks declining two tasks one of which had been completed within the past 6 months (and one of which was unrelated to diagnosis). Informed that the parts for the authorized tasks would require some time to acquire (2-3 days). After 6 days, GSL contacted me to pick up the repaired vehicle. Returned to pay for service and pick up vehicle after 7 days. Observed on the invoice that unapproved tasks were performed. Brought the unauthorized tasks to the attention of the attendant(s). After several minutes of delay, informed that without full payment the vehicle would not be released. Having no choice but to pay the invoice or be stranded at more personal expense the entire amount was paid. Asked to be contacted by service manager. After 3 days the service representative with whom the miscommunication occurred called, not a manager. The service representative simply dismissed my claim, contradicted my summary of events and denied that tasks were unauthorized. I have never been treated by any business or organization with such disrespect. Further more, the noise still exists $2200.00 later.

Poor Customer Relations

Think twice about going there if your vehicle is not a GM product. Service manager and parts dept. clerk were very rude when they saw we had a Ford. We decided to go elsewhere for the simple oil change. Have had it done at other GM dealers and customer service was excellent.

Being a woman, taking my car in for service is a never ending source of frustration. In the past at other service centres I have been taken for a ride on unnecessary repairs. Finding GSL was a godsend. I dealt with Angela Elder and she walked me through my needs, gave me additional information about specials and really went out of her way to make me aware of what was needed, what could be done later. The drivers took me home and picked me up the next day and both gentlemen were friendly and courteous. I will remain a regular client of this well run outfit and recommend it to my female friends as well. Thanks again Angela.

We entered the dealership in late afternoon on a Tuesday. We were informed of car models for Buicks, went for a test drive and bought the car within two hours. We returned on the weekend and finalised the sale with license plates and registration. We received instructions and had time to ask questions about our new car. We spoke to the ONSTAR rep and varified our information. We left the dealership well informed with no concerns. The car we bought is in excellent condition and drives well. I am happy with my purchase!!

I bought a vehicle from GSL, my sales representative was JOE CHAMPION. I believe his name can speak for itself. Champion for everything. Joe has been a professional, knowledgeable, patient, honest and outstanding sales person. He knows GM product very well. And made the entire buying process seamless. We had a wonderful experience while purchasing my 2016 Chevy Malibu from GSL. The whole experience was excellent, from finding the best price (far better pricing than any dealer) to dealing with friendly and caring staff. Joe went above and beyond to insure our satisfaction. He is a definitely an asset to their staff. He took all the time and effort to help me find the vehicle I am looking for. I love my vehicle, and I am absolutely satisfied with my purchase, so many thanks for Joe in assisting me through the entire process. It has truly been a pleasure dealing with Joe and the GSL team. Great Service Friendly & Caring

We just purchased our 2nd Chevy from GSL. This time I bought a used car: 2012 Chevrolet Sonic LT Sedan. I am thrilled with the entire experience - Justin, our salesman, was friendly helpful and professional. Joe C, the sales manager went the extra mile to make sure that we know we felt valued. Everyone was committed to providing excellent service. Justin came our to my "new" car to show me how everything works - which I really appreciated as it has so many new features! I have all good things to say about GSL including the service department, where we have been taking our Cruze for years. I feel confident in recommending them to you!

New Vehicle Purchase: Easy Peasy

I've never been an GM person - nothing against GM, just hadn't found the right vehicle from GM in the past. That was until Ron Madsen introduced me to Cadillac. He knows GM product very well. And made the entire buying process seamless. Post-purchase, he has been very responsive to any questions I've had as well. Ron and his entire team did an excellent job! I've been extremely happy with the car, and look forward to dealing with GSL for a long-time to come.

Is there a Sales Department?

Stopped into GSL this rainy windy evening, drove through the lot looking for the truck I had seen online which took 10 or 15 minutes driving around the lot, think I found it, so I stopped into the showroom. Went in the west door, walked the showroom floor, walked back the showroom floor and went and looked at the Denali truck with the tent in the box. I was the only person in the showroom. Not one salesperson approached me, one did look at me, I guess in this hot Calgary economy GSL doesn't need to move vehicles.

Joe Champion - GMC Sierra 1500 SLT

Being a huge Ford fan, it was quite surprising that I ended up buying a GMC. After looking around at a number of dealerships (CH Toyota, Shaganappi GMC, Cam Clark Ford), I decided that I would give it one last shot at GSL. When we arrived at the dealership, Joe was quick to greet us and played some fun facts with my 12 year old who was quite knowledgeable about trucks. Joe was friendly and helpful. Due to the rain that day, we scheduled a test drive for that Saturday. Joe was consistently keeping in contact to ensure that he had just the right vehicle for me. I had spoken with him of what I was looking for and he had found just about the right vehicle. After a test drive with my kids on the Saturday and another test drive with my wife the following weekend, we decided on the truck. Joe was instrumental in ensuring that the paperwork was ready on Friday and as promised and that the vehicle was ready for pickup on Tuesday. He has been in constant contact to ensure that I am happy with my purchase and that I haven't had any second thoughts about the GMC. Every dealership comes with their own pro and cons. I can same the same was for GSL as well. Although the pro's outweighed the cons in this case and I haven't had a reason to complain about the service I have received thus far. When looking to purchase my new truck, there were only two employees who were really interested in ensuring that I would drive away in a truck. Chris from Shaganappi GMC and Joe. Chris was unable to find the truck I needed (no fault of his). Joe kept in constant contact to see if the price was right and the truck was right and even though I didn't make an immediate decision, he was always giving me a call, sending me a text or sending me an email to ensure that I was still in the know of what the current promotions were and that I was still on his mind for a truck. To me the most important reason I considered to go with GSL is that, Joe never gave up on finding a vehicle that suited my needs. Although I cant speak of how involved Joe or GSL will be in the future, I know that I haven't had a reason to complain about the service I have received. It has been great this far and I am hoping that it will stay that way. It has truly been a pleasure dealing with Joe and the GSL team and I hope that it will continue to be that way. Thank you Joe!

Great service

Went there to get a signal light fixed (on a VW). They were fast and friendly and when I picked up my car it was washed AND vacuumed inside!
