read carefully before signing

By dave on 3/10/2018 at 5:11 AM. Helped by Josie Walton, Brooklyn Gibson, Lenny.

BE SURE THE WRITING MATCHES WHAT YOU AGREED. My wife was in Albuquerque and had car trouble. Service here quoted a major price to fix, so we decided to buy a new car. Another Albq. Subaru dealer quoted a much better price by e-mail, so we asked the Garcia North sales manager to include tax, title and license in the quoted price. (That would have gotten close enough for us.) He agreed. I was on the phone with my wife when they agreed on this, and she repeated the agreement to the sales manager as I listened. Tired and stranded, my wife signed the paperwork given to her. It now appears they DID NOT match what they offered her. Nobody pointed out that the paperwork differed. They did not correct the paperwork to what they had agreed, in spite of many phone calls and promises to help. BAD DEAL!!

I would not recommend this dealer.

Best Dealer Ever

By Laryl on 1/24/2018 at 7:21 PM. Helped by Other.

We are driving cross country and had our Check Engine light go on along with a loud rattle. I called and they told me to come right over. I did and they instantly ran the alert code, told me it was nothing urgent, and then checked the rattle. They also identified it as nothing urgent at all. They topped off my oil and washed my car and then told me there was no charge at all. I was blown away! Nicest folks, super professional, and helpful. If I’m ever in Albuquerque and need Subaru service, this will be my go to place!

I would recommend this dealer.

Impeccable Customer Service!

By dancingk on 10/9/2015 at 12:40 AM. Helped by Rick (Sales), Skip (Sales), and Brian (Finance).

I highly recommend Rick and Skip, "the dream team" of Garcia Subaru of Albuquerque Used Sales. Rick and Skip provided impeccable customer service and made the experience FUN! They listened to my concerns and were willing to negotiate unlike any other salesperson at any other dealership from Albuquerque, Santa Fe to Denver that I had visited or spoken with in the four months it took me to zero in on a quality used Subaru Forester. They made it happen, simple and hassle-free! Thanks, Garcia Subaru of ABQ. I LOVE my Subie!

I would recommend this dealer.

Fast and painless

By happysubaruowner on 9/30/2015 at 4:57 PM. Helped by Jim- used sales, Finance guy who worked very late on Saturday night for us..

We went to look and just get feel for stock and price after eating dinner. I knew I wanted a used Subaru but I wasn't sure about which model or what would be available used. I needed a new car as mine was about to die, but I figured a Subaru was out of my reach in regards to budget. Jim listened to what I liked, what I needed and answered all my questions. He didn't pressure and once I understood all my options I decided I wanted a test drive. Everyone stayed very late to ensure we were happy. I didn't think we would qualify and if we did the price would be out of our budget. They worked with us and not only was it the perfect car it was in our budget. Working with the finance guy, I don't remember his name, was fast and he even saved me a few dollars in the end. Thank you to the whole team. My husband will need a new car soon and he will be back!

I would recommend this dealer.

Stay away from this place. I would hate for anyone else to be treated how we were at this dealership. It was truly just awful.

I would not recommend this dealer.

Worst. Place. EVER.

By Nmbetsy on 11/21/2014 at 10:03 PM. Helped by Justine, Reuben.

It took me four attempts to get an appointment for service because nobody answers the phone. While changing the oil they discovered another problem, and left me a message to tell me about it. I called back three times and nobody answered. I went back to the dealership to find it was a two hour repair job. I tried to get the shuttle to get my kids from school and go home, and the cashier in charge of scheduling was rude, unhelpful and entirely unaccommodating. Definitely never going here again.

I would not recommend this dealer.

They wanted to do maintenance on my car before we drove...

By atay23 on 10/17/2013 at 4:58 PM. Helped by Ed and Ryan.

They wanted to do maintenance on my car before we drove it off the lot, when we picked it up it was obvious it had a bad throw out bearing. They replaced it but we have only had more issues and were rejected when I asked for an extended warranty at the time of purchase. I will steer clear of this dealership, and so should you!

I would not recommend this dealer.

Customer Service: At first I thought it was great. They...

By ADebelius on 8/14/2013 at 1:49 AM. Helped by Ryan Newhall, James Curvin.

Customer Service: At first I thought it was great. They were calling me, keeping me informed. I had wanted to order a Subaru BRZ in December, they told me they had someone back out on a preorder. I figured I'm in luck! Seriously, sales guy was keeping me in the loop, I was ecstatic. I made the hour and a half drive to come see them. I sent them pictures of my car, copies of the maintenance records, and a CarMax appraisal from 2 weeks ago. They said they would match the CarMax price for my trade in on the BRZ. Things were looking up. Until I realized they were just pulling a fast one on me. Once I arrived there, they looked my car over in person, and agreed they could still match the CarMax offer on my car. I figured great, I'll pay sticker on the BRZ (since it was such a new car) and they will give me what I was going to get at CarMax for my car, simple! I told them I had to get all my stuff from my car out (just went to Costco). Since the BRZ was significantly smaller than my car, I told them I would go home and we'd come back the next day after work and swap cars and finalize the paperwork. I then come back the next night and Ryan Newhall wasn't there anymore, and James Curvin took over. He had told me that according to Ryan, they could now only offer me $4750 LESS than what we had agreed to in the emails and the night before for my trade in. They were dead set on it stating that they wouldn't honor the Carmax offer anymore because it had expired a week ago. (Car values don't plummet $5k in a week...). I was in love with this BRZ however, it was with the exact options I wanted, color, you name it. So I said fine, you can steal my car, as long as I can own this car I've been dreaming about. All was well until we started doing the paperwork and it turns out they wanted $1250 OVER sticker, as if they weren't already stealing my car basically. So I had come up originally told one price for both the BRZ and my car over email and phone, and then swindled and almost signed paperwork showing them trying to STEAL just over $6000 from me. I can't do business with a dealer like that. I promptly notified Subaru of America and they arranged for me to get another BRZ delivered from a different dealer, at invoice pricing and they gave me my promised trade in value for my car. That's the only reason I even got a BRZ and would even consider a Subaru ever again. Friendliness: Overall they began as friendly. But as the night went on and the second night came around, it was clear that they had no intention of sticking to the prices they had emailed and talked to me about. They originally were very friendly and hospitable, but towards the end they seemed like they would rather get me out of there because I realized how dishonest they were and started complaining. Overall Experience: I'd have to put this as my overall WORST experience I've had with a dealer by far. I've dealt with many dealers in buying new and used cars, but this one takes the cake. Garcia Subaru is honestly the worst dealership I've encountered. They don't have great inventory, they will give you one price on paper and lie about it the next day and refuse the acknowledge it. You don't want to deal with a dealer being that shady. According to Subaru of America, that was the third time that's happened that year. And that's just people who complained. I know half the people would just walk right on out of there like I should of once they found out what they were trying to pull. Price: Honestly their prices are below average. They are terrible for the region. You can have the exact same car delivered within 2 days for thousands less than they charge. They rarely go below sticker, and in this day and age, that's rare. They feel that because they are almost the only show in the state they can do what they want. I'm surprised they've even stayed open this long. TLDR: Ryan Newhall lied about the pricing. Subaru of America agrees with me on that. And James Curvin will try to swindle you out of thousands even after you show them how this isn't the deal you agreed to. Beware of Garcia Subaru, don't deal with them even if you have to.

I would not recommend this dealer.
