Quality Dealership

By Satisfied on 4/4/2018 at 10:26 PM. Helped by Doug, Bruce, Jody.

I just bought my second car from Goodwin, and I do all of my service there. I have also used their body shop. They are prompt, courteous, and I've never had the impression that they were "running up the bill." I had a 2014 Traverse, and traded it for a 2018 Traverse-- a totally perfect vehicle for me. I was treated courteously and as a valued customer. I recommend them, and when I'm ready for a new Traverse, I'm sure I'll buy it from them. I'm not a fan of the outside team they bring in to run their sales events-- I want to deal with their employees, and Doug made that happen.

I would recommend this dealer.

Dishonest service department.

By mikegiroux1959 on 2/19/2018 at 1:15 PM. Helped by Service manager.

We dropped off our Impala to have the rear defroster repaired under warranty. They called to tell us we needed new tires. The tires were only 1/2 worn out. we declined . Goodwins in retaliation for us declining to be ripped off.....cut our good inspection sticker in half. This all took place a week before Christmas.....Merry Christmas , from the low class service department , at Goodwins Chevrolet.

I would not recommend this dealer.

I had my first oil change for my new car and getting the appointment online was easy, Everyone in the service department was courteous, professional and prompt (even though I was early). My wait time was as expected and minimal..

Service

By kcarrr on 11/15/2017 at 2:03 PM. Helped by Service Manager.

Check engine light came on and I was able to get an appointment for the following morning for diagnostics. It was done in under or about an hour's time. I returned the following morning for the repair (part required was in Portland which would have added another hour of time missed from work) and I was able to get in the service garage at 7:30 and I was out by 8:15 am. The service cost was not outrageous - I'll take it.

I would recommend this dealer.

Unprofessional

By Bjames17 on 10/21/2017 at 2:50 PM. Helped by Brodie Kayo, Mark Sales manager.

While the service was happening, my wife was swarmed by salesmen like vultures on a fresh corps. The repair ended up costing $125 and somehow we ended up leaving with a new car. Everything was fine until the next day when I was contacted by the sales manager saying we owe them more money. During the sales process, I should have known that a deal offer written on computer paper with a sharpie wasn’t exactly legitamit. The price for the trade on the paper vs the actual paperwork was $1,000 less and we didn’t notice until the next day examining the paperwork closer to try and solve the down payment amount discrepancy. Apparently Goodwin’s hires an outside sales team to do this “event” and it’s almost as if they were just a bunch of cowboys that did anything to make a sale and let the pieces fall where they may after. We are very happy with our car so far but this part of the LEGAL transaction will keep us from EVER buying at Goodwin’s again!

I would not recommend this dealer.

never again

By TLaw on 8/26/2017 at 8:37 PM. Helped by the whole service dept and as well the mechanics on duty..

I have another car 2005 Chevy Malibu. A recall was done on more than one issue, 5 in fact. One, after having the steering item replaced my mechanic found an issue with my steering. I paid to have corrected. 2nd a recall on the transmission shift. I drove in with no issues and came back with a VERY loose shift stick and no low gear 1, 2, 3. I went back and they tighten the shift stick. But I was TOLD my low gears were already broken when I took the car in. I HATE being lied to. I, in fact, use my low gears nearly every day. I will never go to you again. Any recalls going forward I will have my mechanic do the service. These are not the only issues with your service dept. Also, my husband both a new car 2017 Chevy Spark. He tested out and both the car. The car he received was another car. He questioned them and was told they had one for testing another for purchase. The car we had does not have the same dashboard and design as the other car. It looked like a down grade.

I would not recommend this dealer.

No pressure, just helpful and knowledgeable salespeople

By ooonor on 8/15/2017 at 12:30 AM. Helped by Bruce.

I visited once this spring, 'just looking', and was treated with respect, and provided with answers to all of my questions at the time. Last week, my husband and I returned to really look at a Volt. We got a nice test drive, a very prompt offer on the car we were interested in, NO pressure when we said we'd think about it and let them know. 45 minutes later we'd made up our mind, accepted the offer, and arranged to pick up the car. What we loved is that no one was pushy, and everyone was helpful. This is a completely different atmosphere than we've experienced in other places, and we really appreciated it. We got the car we wanted at a fair price, and the entire experience was comfortable and pleasant, and efficient.

I would recommend this dealer.

Check engine light

By m- on 7/31/2017 at 1:38 PM. Helped by Doug, Chris.

Check engine light has been coming on intermittently. Does not appear to be the same problem each time. The service department crew are always courteous and explain their findings, implications and what to watch for if it happens again. I have great confidence in and respect for them.

I would recommend this dealer.

Inspection

By Displeased on 9/12/2016 at 10:13 PM. Helped by Don't remember.

I have loyalty visited Goodwin every 5000 miles for oil change and the necessary maintenance on my 2013 spark. However it had recently been making a strange notice and I knew it was due for inspection. I brought it in and let them know is the noise and they said they would take a look. An hour later my car was done and they said they found no issues. I assumed the sound may be just unbalanced tires with uneven air pressure and decided to ride it out. However the sound got worse. I took the car to pep boys locally and they stated the strut bones were missing and the left strut was leaking bad. An issue like this shouldn't have passed inspection... Never going back to them again safe to say. When I called back to ask for the issue to be fixed at a discounted rate. I was told that wasn't possible even though they were the ones that messed up.

I would not recommend this dealer.

Saddening Experience

By donscar on 4/12/2016 at 2:47 PM. Helped by Tucker, Nick.

I found a used car that I liked at Goodwins online. And when they called and said that we could work something out, I was pretty sure that we could. The car I traded was a 2013 Impala in Excellent shape with low mi. So I purchased a 2015 Impala and am satisfied with the price and I love the car. But! When the deal was done we hopped in and drove off pretty pleased with things. On the 30 mi. drive home though my wife noticed a small but significant hole or crack in the windshield. She immediately called Goodwins and got someones voicemail.. They didn't call back. Also during the drive home I noticed that the car hadn't been detailed. It wasn't terribly bad but I''m 68 and disabled to an extent and will have to have it cleaned by a guy here near my home, he charges $160.00 plus tip. We almost had to beg them to get the windshield fixed and then it was poorly done. I asked several times about cleaning the car but got no response. My wife tried to call Mr. Goodwin himself when we knew he was there because we were in the waiting room. She was put on hold then after a wait told that he had stepped out and to leave a voice mail, which she did. That was three weeks ago and we're still waiting to hear from him or from anyone down there, You'd think at least they would offer to detail it and to make the windshield whole..... One last thing, everyone was really nice while we were buying, but when we expressed a complaint, I don't know how word gets around so fast but everyone there turned rude. The girls at the front turned their backs on me after a dirty look for instance and the other sales staff except for Tucker our Sales Guy, were rude without saying anything if you know what I'm trying to say. We are just a nice couple we have no enemies that I know of and we have many friends. Why we got this kind of treatment is so crazy to both of us that it's very, very upsetting. I would not recommend shopping there.

Not impressed

By E on 7/20/2015 at 3:15 PM. Helped by Derek.

They called me about a Mazda I expressed interest in on their website. I stated I didn't think the sale could happen after a little research I did the day before. Derek advised Mazda has some promotions going on for the vehicle I was looking at and they could work something out. As this is an hour drive for me I expressed the importance of being fairly close on numbers as I didn't want to waste anyone's time. I let them know what I have for a trade in and my price range I was looking for again. He expressed confidence in a possible deal. So the next morning I packed up the family and made the drive. We take a couple of cars out for a test drive and decide we want the car originally interested in. Mind you, we are current Mazda drivers and a fan of the brand. They come back with a number so far off my original price range I knew nothing can be worked out. I stated this to the sales rep who also confirmed my thoughts. I advised the individual of the call I had with Derek. He said "Its Derek's teams job to get people in the door." Needless to say I wasn't happy with that response. Time was wasted and trust was lost. I will not return to this dealership as long as it is their practice to do whatever it takes to get people in the door.

I would not recommend this dealer.

my wife and I have done business with goodwins in the...

By workingman on 9/1/2011 at 4:41 PM. Helped by rick in service.

my wife and I have done business with goodwins in the past but rarely with their service dept. I brought my wifes van in to have it looked at for a starting problem. I spoke with a guy named rick who assured me they would look at the vehicle and call me with an estimate the same day.. well a couple of hours later rick did call me and told me the bad news that my wifes van needed a couple of thousand dollars worth of work. it needed a new fuel pump and a lower intake manifold gasket. I thanked rick for the estimate but decided it just was'nt worth fixing for that amount, which I thought was extremely high. so the next day me and my wife went down to pick up the vehicle and to purchase a preowned vehicle we had seen on line at the dealership. Here's where the problem started, I spoke with a service writer about picking up the van and was completely taken off guard when he told me that there was a charge of about $150.00 for looking at the van. That to me is highway robbery, being a certified mechanic myself I know that time was involved, but $150.00 and then not fully explaining this charge before hand is to me dishonest. the service writer rick knew that i was clearly upset but did nothing than say " well time cost money". needless to say we did not buy that vehicle from goodwins, I did call the dealership after getting home and spoke with their service manager chris who promptly agreed to refund some of the money via a check which I do appreciate. but unfortunately sometimes you only have one chance to make a first good impression. After explaining this to my neighbor who was also going to go down an get a truck from goodwins he also decided to purchase from another dealership. My family has purchased several vehicles from goodwins, but from now on we will no longer do any business with them , dishonesty and price gouging is something that I will not tolerate as a working man. This dealership should be trying to help people during this recession not trying to rip them off. buy elsewhere and definitely get your service elsewhere. there still are some honest dealerships out there unfortunately this is not one of them.

I would not recommend this dealer.
