Poor Customer Service at Service Department

I have called numerous times over the past two years to schedule maintenance on my Honda. If I had a different make of car I would not being going to Honda. The service department is grossly understaffed, which equates to poor customer service. Today, I tried to call four different times with a combine eight minutes of the phone ringing continuously. Good business practice should be answering a phone or placing a caller on hold within three rings! I called the operator and it took over 6 rings to answer and she stated that she’s probably at lunch and no one answers the phone. Really?!? Do you think during a lunch hour is when you may have high call volume? Susan needs to stay in the office and focus on her customers!

I would not recommend this dealer.

just got threaten because i didn't give a perfect review about their service, even after they called wanting a good review to help their paycheck. don lord called called my home and said ALL of their service staff will be waiting for my return!!!!!! wow no confidentiality. it even wasn't bad service, just the shack down is sad mason was real jerk, i even played him phone message and he pissed on me

Purchase of 2019 Accord Touring 2.0T

Mark was very upfront about the entire process from start to finish. Very knowledgeable on the car and all its features. Did not feel pressure from Mark to buy the same day; it just worked out that way. I did my research by comparing prices to competing dealers in the area, getting their best price, and presenting Mark with an offer. Mark and the sales team went above and beyond to meet my price. I would recommend Mark to anyone who does not want to play the stereotypical back-and-forth "games" with a salesman when buying a car. Honda of Illinois has received a lot of our family's business and this will continue into in the future.

Charlie was fantastic, friendly and accommodating. I can see heaven in his eyes. I wish I could take Charlie home to be my personal mechanic. He seems like a man who know's his way around things. My old Honda hasn't run this well in a LONG time.

Service was quick, thorough, and very easy to work with. Amanda took great care of everything I needed. The check in process was quick and easy. She called and updated me when it was completed and I was able to pick my car up on my schedule.

Rear differential fluid replaced quickly and well

I went in to Honda of Illinois to get the rear differential fluid replaced in my 2017 Honda Ridgeline. They accomplished the task within the time frame they gave me and the staff were friendly and helpful.

The service advisor really took care of the customer and explained everything that I needed to know. The mechanic gave me the instruction booklet and showed me how to operate the new device.

I avoid the Honda dealer for service if I can

I asked for replacement wipers at check in, they forgot to perform this service. At pick up when I pointed this out, they checked my vehicle and reported that I did not have Honda parts for wipers, so they could not perform the service. I would have paid for new parts, but this option was not offered. Just a shrug and my keys back. This perfectly sums up every service experience I’ve ever had at this dealership. I never leave impressed with their friendliness, attention to detail, extra helpfulness. I believe that after I buy a new vehicle, it’s the service department that will get me to come back to that dealership for my next new car. But this service department acts like I should feel lucky they’re working on my van. I rated the experience as AVERAGE because I don’t have any reason to revisit the location when other options are closer, more available, just as reliable, not more expensive, and appreciate my business.

Tire pressure problem

Great service. Did oil change and engine check. Software was updated and all was done in a fast way. I have used the service department for 11 years. They try to help. In rare occasions you need to leave your car for a little longer than what they promised. I would continue to use there service.

I put off doing my recalls due to being busy...THEY called me to see if they could arrange an appointment. We bought the car used- so it wasn’t even a new Odyssey van from them. That was really nice!
