Every time I bring one of our vehicles in for service it's a Great experience. All of the Service Personnel know me by name. I observe how they are with the other customers and it's ALWAYS with the utmost respect and courtesy. They go out of their to make each visit a very positive experience.

Wasn't planning to buy AT ALL, but we did!

Had been thinking of perhaps replacing my ten year old minivan but could not decide what to get. Ultimately we thought for our purposes a Yukon XL was best choice, but decided to wait a year. Happened to notice Howard had a used Yukon XL Denali, so while we were on Grand for another reason, just stopped in to take a look. Long story short, Joe, great salesman, showed us everything on the vehicle, let us take it home for the night and we ended up buying. Just about everyone we encountered was friendly, polite and helpful. Service folks super nice, too. (And when I say we weren't planning to buy I mean it: I had just gotten an oil change, new tires and had a full tank of gas!)

Bait and switch at its finest

Previously purchased a car from them and had a great experience. This time? Not so much. First, I called and was told upon running my information that I was APPROVED for $20k, no money down. Now, because I've had some bad experiences with car dealerships previously, I tried to confirm preapproval or APPROVAL?? I was told that I was approved. So I send in all my paperwork and verified whether it was confirmed. I was told it was. I get a phone call a few days later asking if I was able to send in the information prior to my appointment?? I ask what paperwork, since I had already sent everything in. Apparently, one person received it and a completely different person had no idea. I go in for my appointment, wait for 3 hours and I'm told my license was suspended. I leave and immediately get my license issue corrected, called back to advise them that it was done and rescheduled for the following saturday. Now, I'd asked that they verify all the necessary information prior to my new appointment as I didn't want to make an unnecessary trip again. For the next 3 days, instead of receiving calls as I had asked, I had to do all the work. Asked if my license was verified as being valid (which I, myself was able to do) I was first told no, they weren't able to reach anyone at the secretary of state's office.now I found that odd, since I was able to do so (despite long hold times).at this point I'm told no one had actually called because they were too busy, but assured me it would be done before my appointment. I had to continuously call to verify whether they had done this and kept being told it was busy, call volume was high, etc. Called the day before my appointment and one of the girls tells me that it was still showing as invalid through the automated system, I had to keep explaining that it needed to be through a live person as I had an issue with the automated system as well. Finally, another young lady says in the background "let her know I verified it. I was on hold for like 40 minutes" ok fine. So I ask, as I had continuously done during previous conversations if there was ANYTHING else needed before I make another trip. Once again, I'm told no, the bank has already given the approval, all I need to do is come in and sign my paperwork. So I leave work early saturday, and come in and wait for another 2 1/2 hours. I even stepped into Kevin's office once he was done with one customer to ask if they were waiting on anything? I'm told no, they're just busy.now in the meantime, they had asked a question on whether i had another checkstub as the ones that I had provided didn't show a full time employment status. I explain that I've been out a few days over the past few weeks as my mom was ill, but provided another pay stub anyway & my offer letter indicating my monthly pay. So, about 45 minutes before they close, Kevin sends one of his assistants in to tell me they need ANOTHER checkstub & they can't do anything for me at the moment. she then explains that hes TRYING to get me approved, but right now I need a $1k downpayment. how did we go from a no money down approval to a $1k downpayment once I'm there. So I tell her, this is the 2nd time I've come in after doing ALL the legwork & asking multiple times what else was needed. So I asked to speak directly with Kevin...so once he's done he comes in and I let him know I'm upset... I'm told "you can be as pissed as you want, we still need another checkstub" so at this point, I'm MORE upset because Kevin himself had told me that everything else was done, as of our last appointment. he tells me "well maybe I made a mistake but we need another checkstub" so I ask WHY didn't someone tell me, & I would've waited until I had gotten my newest check and waited until then to come in.Kevin: we need a full time checkstub.me:Ok,WHY did everyone tell me everything else was done if thats the case?Kevin: *slaps desk* we need a full time checkstub, bring me that and we can get it done.Me: ok, when I bring THAT in, it will just be another issue.Kevin: *slaps desk* I need a full time checkstub. now at this point, I'm upset because as opposed to addressing the errors that were clearly made, he decided to continue being condescending. Then tells me "you can lower your voice, or I'm NOT selling you a car" oh really? after YOU made the errors that caused me to be upset in the first place. So I continue asking, why wasn't I told this prior. At which point he tells me, he's done and he's not selling me a car. So I say FINE!!! I ended up speaking with the manager Morry, who listened to my concerns, however, I'm sure it ultimately fell on deaf ears because its one person and Kevin is part of his staff. He told me that he would wait until Kevin calms down and would see if he wants to do business then. I declined and asked how fairly I'd be treated at that point and I let him know I'm not going to beg anyone to take my business. 1 sale may not mean much, but word of poor customer service travels.

Poor expierence

I visited this dealership with the hopes that I would be driving on in a new car. From a sales perspective both Fred and Jim were helpful in answering questions etc. When it came to negotiations and dealing with the manager Maury, it was a whole other experience. I experienced Maury as being condescending and rude. I am unsure why he only referred to be as "sweetheart" after asking him to call me by first name. I walked away not purchasing a car. I was called a few days later, which happened to be a new month, and was told there were new incentives to offset the price of the car. I asked if these would be taken off the price already quoted from when I visited. I was told, seeing as these were new for the month of Aug, then yes it would be money off the quoted price. Again once dealing with Maury he went on to tell me he already took these incentives off. When I questioned him and said I was told these were new incentives for this month, he was unable to give me an answer other than "the price is what it is, sweetheart". In buying a car I don't want someone to be slippery with numbers, I want honest and direct answers. Its unfortunate, seeing as family members have purchased cars here in the past. I am sure never to return and I know after sharing my experiences my family members may not either. Luckily I found a great Buick, GMC dealership and was able to drive home in my new 2016 Buick Envision, that I love!

Blackjack scam

I stop by there today after work just to turn in my black jack game card which, was delivered to my home address by mail. According to this game card if you beat the dealers hand you win a prize but, if you get black jack you when two prizes. Well I did get black jack and you wouldn't believe the prizes they tried to give me...i only have this to say people don't waste your time with this. It isn't worth burning your gas for unless you just want a good laugh. They also had the nerve to ask me if I would want to trade in my vehicle...so you see it's a gimmick, a salesman con to get you their and try to sale you into buying a vehicle. I gotta admit it's a good one just not good enough to fool me.Be careful people it seems these dealers will stoop to anything.

First day I went there, the car I was interested in was sold earlier that day and I didn't find any there I wanted. Al was very friendly and offered to keep an eye out and call me if they got something I would be interested in. Next day, he calls and I get a car from some very friendly people at a time I really needed help.

Rich was pleasant and worked hard to make sure I was taken care of. This was my first visit as my Chevy impala died out at the corner of grand and church in Elmhurst at 6:30 at night. I was shocked to find a dealer or any repair facility still open and ready to help. It turned out it was just a broken fan belt and I was on my way within an hour at a reasonable price. I actually "shopped" the price the next day and found Howard to be cheaper than the Mobil station I HAD been using. All my business will go to Howard their open til 9 during the week and even open Saturday's! THANKS Rich and thanks Howard!

I bought a new LaCrosse from Howard Buick at the end of December and could not have been happier with the process. I competitive bid online and got honest, straight forward information not to mention a great price. The preliminary exchange of e-mails lent itself to the wonderful experience at the dealership. It was a no surprises, straight forward purchase with both sides happy with the deal. From the moment we walked in and had our first conversation with the sales manager we felt welcome and at ease. Our salesman was great. He gave us the keys for a test drive and walked us through the deal and the preliminary paperwork and made sure that everything was as we had discussed and to our satisfaction on the trade in value. Then the business manager got us through a pile of forms in a minimum amount of time and saved us some additional cash in the process. We were in and out in a bit over two hours, which included prepping the car for our departure. Perhaps the best car buying experience we've ever had.

Will never return to this shop for service. Paid $1200.00 for repairs. Drove 2 miles and had the same issue. picked up my van 6 hours later and now there's a new issue related to what "was fixed" When i had brought this to the service "Consultant Rich" he stated to me that he would be happy to look into issue, BUT there would be an additional charge. Not only will I never bring my vehicle back; I will have all my company vehicles go to a HONEST Dealer. I highly recommend Hoskins in Elk Grove Village.

I have purchased my last 7 vehicles from Howard and I wouldn't think of purchasing from any other dealership. I ALWAYS get the BEST PRICE and most definitely the BEST SERVICE. This last visit was to have some minor body work to my wife's vehicle. We also had some service work performed and then there was the complete detail job. The vehicle was done when promised and the body repair and detail were better then my expectations. The car looked as good or better then the day we purchased it. Whenever I visit Howard Buick GMC I'm treated like family. This is in both the Service Department where I am always greeted promptly and always with a smile and feeling that they appreciate my business. When I walk over to the New Car Showroom where I always see a familiar face and a warm greeting. When it's time to pay for my services the receptionist is ALWAYS very friendly and quick to complete the transaction and get me on my way. Last, but not least, when I pick my vehicle up it's always delivered near the door and is always washed. This complete experience is the reason I ALWAYS PURCHASE and SERVICE my vehicles with Howard Buick GMC.
