Jim Ellis Always Takes Care Of Me

I bought my MX-5 Miata in 2017 and have made 3 trips to Jim Ellis Mazda for scheduled service. I've never been disappointed by them, they've always provided spectacular service and have been thorough in explaining what was being done and what the cost is. Great communication, great service, and quality work.

Great Experience

I scheduled my appointment for an oil change and recall on my car and they had me in and out the door quickly. I had to wait about 2 minutes for the shuttle service and then they drove me back to my office. They called me about 15 minutes before my car was finished to let me know the shuttle driver would call me when he was outside my office, which he did. I went in, paid for my oil change and was in and out in less than 5 minutes. I wanted to get my car serviced before I went on vacation and it was just the best experience.

great mazda service

my front headlight blew out and it was not safe to drive my car at night I came in without an appointment and they worked me in and changed the bulb, it was Saturday am and they only do by appoinments only I had plans for the weekend and they all would have been ruined if not for the great service department there

I recently purchased a 2019 Mx5 Grand Touring and wanted Apple Car Play added to my audio system and I just picked up the phone and said "I am picking up my new car tomorrow and would like to have Apple Car Play and they made it happen. Very easy process and very knowledge staff.

Internet department got me want I wanted

Worked with a Ed Holt in the internet department and he found the Mx5 I wanted and the pricing was easy. He had me approved for special financing and my wife and I got to the dealership and the vehicle was right out front clean and ready to go. Thank you for such personal service and getting us in and out quickly. Oh! Lisa our sale person that was assigned to us tried us like we had friends for life. High Expectations Set by Employees, Low Delivery

Rochelle appeared to be on top of her game when we first arrived. However, as we got into the process of purchasing the vehicle, she decided to go missing while we were "waiting for the car to be brought to the dealership from another lot." The reason why this is in quotation marks is because we found her in the back office chatting it up and eating. We don't mind if you tell us you'll be right back but we waited for a good 20 minutes trying to figure out what we were waiting for. When Rochelle returned, she advised that she was going to talk another on a test drive (mind you, we were in the middle of completing our transaction with her) and when the car got there, we could take it for a test drive. Waited for another 10 minutes, advised the finance guy, Aguirre as last name, that the process waiting for the car was taking way too long and Rochelle decided not to complete the transaction. In less than 10 minutes, the car showed up, dirty and was told by a gentleman (forgot his name) and told us we cannot take it for a test drive without Rochelle. We advised that we are not about to wait until she gets back and at this point, we were ready to walk away and take out business somewhere else. Some other gentleman, forgot his name but advised he was not a chatty guy, took us for a test drive. Rochelle set her standards high, which she can deliver without a doubt; however, not sure what happened to her after she knew we were purchasing the car. We recommend Rochelle to other clients, especially with the patience she displayed as we shifted through several car options, just without helping another client in the middle of a transaction - this causes a negative customer experience. We got back from the test drive of the car we knew we wanted and sat in the office of Mr. Aguirre, which was a lot of wasted time. We understand that his job is to ensure we understand everything that he says (and per his words, talk to us like a five year old to explain the options we had [at this point, we were extremely offended as we are adults and can read/understand what is in front of us and if we don't, we will ask]). As we were deciding on the options provided, he kept interrupting our discussion to the point I asked him firmly but nicely to stay out of our conversation and to stop interrupting - worked for 2 sentences and he couldn't stop himself. He advised we would be done in 20 minutes - an hour later, I stated "you need a timer in your computer, because you said we would be in 20 minutes an hour ago." He laughed at the comment, moved on the process like I didn't say anything, and made snide remarks such as "you're smart and thanks [insert name here] for helping [as I filled out the forms]" throughout the end of the transaction, to which we did not appreciate. To top things off, he kept saying that he has been doing this for over 15 years, moved to the US in the 80's and he is asthmatic when it was not relevant to the reason why we were in the dealership. I can appreciate that he is trying to connect with us but he should "read the room" and notice that we were not interested as we were there for a total of 5 hours that could have been done in an hour and a half max. Mr. Aguirre needs a refresher in customer service and soft skills - granted we may have been "difficult" as hour 4 came along and we expressed our frustration to him repeatedly. Additionally, the paperwork process was a headache exacerbated by Mr. Aguirre - it should have been smooth sailing until he messed up several documents by selecting electronic signatures - he asked a colleague to assist and just had me sign above the black box. We've dealt with numerous car dealerships this was the first time our visit was passed two hours - this was a first for us. Rafael Mateo is the service manager for maintenance that we reached out to prior to this visit. We have been Mazda drivers, taking our Mazda 3 to this dealership for service and has been great. He reached out to check in and apologized for any inconvenience and we appreciated his do diligence.
