Unethical and illegal

Bought my information from Lending Tree and would not stop hounding me to come in and meet with them once a day for three weeks. Then Used an advertised priced with hidden restrictions. Gave vehicle a safety inspection and passed it yet ball joints were bad and they wouldn’t do anything until I said I would push for legal action. Beware of the crooked dealership, I will never use them again!!!

Once a Used Care Salesman, ALWAYS a lying Used Car Salesman

Never buy from this dealership. Bought a used car from this dealership on 5/15/2019 of which I paid cash. Went to the license office on 5/17/2019 and tried to get car licensed as I thought I had everything I needed. They told me I could not get car tags without a car title. Immediately called the dealership and they said it is being processed by the "girls upstairs". Now, I have a car that I cannot get licensed. They never did tell me when I would receive the car title, just that it would be delivered by fedex when the "girls upstairs: get finished. This is no doubt a scam operation that I fell into. Notified Attorney General, have not heard back yet.

I would not recommend this dealer.

We have purchased 2 new vehicles in less than a year here. Sales did great! Service is very pushy trying to sell services like "a/c service" is a joke! Cars that have no miles under factory warranty should never have anything other than factory recommended in the manual. Also they cant keep an appointment to save their lives. They lost our business for life!

disgusting, embarrassing company that bait and switches

This is the lowest of the low dealership. Ashley Harden beck is the "financial manager" and easily the most deceitful individual i have came across. On December 22nd we turned in a leased tahoe and purchased a 2018 silverado. Her introduction was "bear with me, I am still hungover from the Christmas party the other night at Tully's". So quick to sign paperwork without going thru any details. My salesman Jason quit before picking up the truck, called me to say how embarrassed he was to work there and that Ashley is known for bait and switching. These crooks messed up a payoff causing my wife and my credit scores to have a late payment which we had to get settled with GM because elementary math is optional at Jim Ternary. She tacked on gap insurance and today the kicker was a $1141 personal property bill that these incompetent shady con artists forgot to pay and wouldn't honor. Run from this place if you get any uncomfortable feeling. I cannot believe how awful this experience was and hopefully they go out of business. Know way Ashley should be anywhere near a "financial manager" position.

horrible dealership

so many issues, my don took truck in for service and poter wrecked it and they refused to fix it correctly and took way to long. Went in 2x to buy new vehicles and gotta nothing but the run around. 1st time the jacked the price up after seeing it online 9,000.00 less and wanted me to give them my trade in for 0.0, last time overpriced on the vehicle and argued with me about trade cslue. I am done now, after 5 years moving my business else where

Bought a lemon

The buying experience and sales people were great. Everything was good up until a few days before my 30 day period was up. My head light was broken, not the bulb but the actual piece that holds it in and with school I wasn't able to make an appointment to have it fixed till after my 30 days was up. They wanted me to pay out of pocket. Since then my door handle broke off and it's having battery issues. It won't start and has to be jumped almost everytime I go to leave. Im a senior in high school and I saved every dime I have to buy this car. I don't have much money for repairs and I wasn't expecting to have many repairs seeing as I bought it from a reputable dealership and it is a newer model car. I've had nothing but issues and they have done nothing to help me. They just want more money for repairs that I shouldn't have to worry in he first place.

"You Pay What We Say" not " You Pay What We Pay"

Their ad should say "You Pay What We Say" not "You Pay What We Pay"…!!!!! My wife and I were looking for a new car. Jim Trenary in O'Fallon was the closest to our home so naturally we decided to shop there. The salesman very polite and professional and the car that we specifically wanted was not on their lot. We were sent to the Troy Missouri store because we wanted to see what that car looks like in that color. We get all the way to Troy only to find out the car is not there. It had not been sold, it had never been there because it had not come in from the factory yet . So we drove by another dealership that had one in the same color again with every intention to return back to Trenary and be loyal to their salesman. We drove all the way over to Elco in Ballwin and we love the color. We return to the O'fallon location and was ready to make the deal for the one that had not come in yet as we were willing to wait. Once we started talking numbers the price we were quoted was $2,500 over the price on their internet ad. The internet ad apparently had a rather large rebate that they wouldn't give us for being a previous General Motors owner even though we showed them proof of our current insurance card showing the v i n the GM car we owned. So, really wanting the car we negotiated a price that was higher the ad only to find out his sales manager now won't sell us the car in Troy even though we're willing to wait for it. The only other car in the area in the color and trim we wanted was over at Elco Chevrolet. Again staying loyal to the salesman we asked okay fine just get that car and we'll buy it here as again we're willing to wait for it. We were then quoted a price $600 above the price that we just negotiated for the very same car and very same trim. The salesman did do a good job of going back and forth to management only to come back to stick to the same inflated price. Losing patience I asked the salesman to go to the top guy which he did and it was still no. My wife and I were very upset so I stepped outside and thought I'll just call Elco and give them the price that we negotiated for the one in Troy that Tranary now won't sell us. Elco was more than glad to take that price and said come on over the car is here and you can drive it home today. We went to Elco and had a very pleasant experience. I'm not blaming the salesman in this at Jim Trenary I'm blaming the management because the top manager came to speak to us and told us he went to Jim Trenary himself and he said no on the deal and if we want it we had to pay the inflated price. While he was saying he wanted to earn our business he had already lost it. He was very preoccupied while he was talking to us and sounded very disingenuous while continuing to qoute the price they wanted us to pay not what they advertised on their ad. I will never return to Jim Trenary even though it's right by our house and right by my work. I would rather drive 20 miles out of my way to be treated with dignity and respect and above all at least with a place that will honor the prices that they advertise. In the end Elco got our business and future business for $600 less then what Trenary was trying to be stick me with. It got to a point where it just wasn't worth being loyal to the Jim Trenary salesman or Jim Trenary as a dealership after being sent all over the country for a car that was wasn't there and even when it would arrive they wouldn't sell it to us. I find Jim Trenary to be very deceitful in their advertising so when you see a price iadvertised even though there's disclaimers you feel you qualify for all I can say is buyer beware. I can't imagine what kind of surprises they would have had in store for me once I got into the finance room. I didn't give them the chance.

Broken mirror

Bought a 2019 High Country Saturday off the showroom floor and while they are driving it out the passenger outside mirror was broken... they said it happened at their car wash... still took it home because their service center was closed. Back Monday to get it fixed and the salesman said on Saturday he would get a loaner to drive so we don’t sit and wait... here we sit because there is no loaner.. so much for promises... will have to really think about buying at Trenary ever again...and this our second purchase from them... no loyalty..so sad

I had bought a truck online from them only to find out a few days later they sold it to someone else. Justin the used car manager is an absolute jerk. I would not recommend anyone buy a car from this dealership.

We have purchased 5 cars from the Union location. Went in yesterday to test drive a car. Greg Benton did the best he could. He is relatively new taking over for his Mom Sue. This dealership needs to be under new management. The other salesmen were so rude so Greg. They were rolling their eyes, talking to him as if he was a child and rude to us. People in Union are complaining about the dealership.. Something is wrong and this needs to be addressed. We will be going elsewhere.

STAY AWAY

Been there 3 times and will never go back. First time got a piece of mail that said I won a new car!!!! Yeah, No. Marketing scam. Reluctantly went back for a repair and they ripped me a new one. One year later part failed again!! Only came in because I figured they would replace it since it had only been a year...wrong. If your planning on buying a car or repairing the one you have do it somewhere else. But no matter what you do DON'T DO IT THERE.
