Worst service manager, Daneel Wilson

I gave 1 star because I had to. This is the worst service department I have ever dealt with. I would advise anyone thinking about taking their car there to go anywhere else. I brought my car in to them because it stalled and would not start. We towed it in and found out it needed a new engine. It was still under warranty. This was the beginning of November. At the time they did not have a loaner car available so I went to Avis and rented a car. Sometime in December a loaner became available and I picked it up. We had gone away for the Christmas holiday and advised our service advisor that we wouldn't be not be back until after January 4. She told us that would be fine. The 1st engine they put in was bad so they ordered another from ford. When it was finally finished, I went back to pick up my car and I was told that the instrument cluster was now not working and that we would be responsible for its repairs even though it was fully working when I brought it in and the engine repair caused it to fail. We tried to negotiate with the service manager and she did agree if we paid for the part they would pay for the labor. We were given another loaner car. After about three weeks the service manager Daneel Wilson, told us that the cluster was on back order and would not be in for a few weeks. She also reneged on her original offer to split the cost and stated that they would not be paying for the labor cost. We argued to no avail. We picked up our car and gave the loaner back. My husband paid $200 for the battery they put in and left. We received a call the next day stating that we hadn't paid for the rental car. I called them back immediately and stated I didn't know what they were talking about as we were told we were given a loaner car and our paperwork did not indicate anywhere that this was a rental. There were no charges on the paperwork we signed. Monday, I get a call from the "service manager" Daneel Wilson stating we had stolen the car and that they wanted $900 for the rental. I called her back immediately again stating I didn't know what she was talking about. I kept trying to tell her that the service advisor got us a loaner at no charge to us so why would we now be being charged for a rental? Unfortunately she didn't have the professionalism to allow me to speak and kept talking over me. At one time she laughed at me and made fun of me to employees near her. I asked her for the spelling of her name because I was going to make a complaint to ford and she told me I should call my husband and get the spelling from him. I asked her several times for the spelling of her name and she called me a five-year-old. I hung up as she was too unprofessional to try to speak with and I immediately called Ford and made a complaint against her. Ford apologized and stated that they would be contacting the owner of DCH Ford. I know three other people that have had similar bad experiences with this service department. Stay clear of them! Very unprofessional and not happy at all with their lack of service. I will be taking it to another dealership to fix the cluster they damaged.

Awful experience

I usually don't even take the time to write reviews, but this has to be said to potentially warn other people going to shop here. I bought a 2016 Jeep Wrangler JKU from this dealership. This vehicle was supposedly inspected "throughly" by "qualified" DCH service staff. So I trusted it, I went on a short test drive around bumpy and bad roads.....The jeep was so clean, and the dealership had very good reviews so I didn't think I had to worry, until the drive home....They even emphasize on their window stickers how well inspected their cars are by their staff..Well they must have "overlooked" and obvious axle issue. My Jeep's tire is literally wobbling side to side. It wasn't till I actually hit a patch of nice freeway on my way home from the dealership that I felt the very bad vibration coming from the back of my car. The Jeep also had a recent accident on his record, and had 2 very badly damaged rims. I chose to overlook it because I had faith in the dealership But get this, when I contacted the general manager, almost that same week of the purchase , he insinuated I caused the issue by hitting a pot hole...he insinuated I BENT an AXLE on a POT HOLE. ridiculous. BUT at least he said I am more than welcome to come in for a second opinion...to his dealership, more than 2 hours away...perfect *sarcasm* I already complained to the BBB on both their account and DCH's main headquarters account, and am even in talks with a consumer law attorney. This vehicle literally couldve caused an accident, but yet they will take NO responsibility for this issue. So in short....please shop somewhere else. there are MANY other ford dealerships that you can go to .

Not respectful

Summary: if you are in the market for a used car, go somewhere else. They won't respect your time or you as a customer. I contacted them yesterday, they called me today to confirm my interest and we agreed on a time I would visit. They called me a second time to confirm that I was coming at the agreed time. I drove for 1.5 hours in traffic and was told on arriving that the car just got sold. Imagine... I can see how a dealership that respects business and potential customers could have done at least these two things: 1. pull the car until I arrived (we did confirm I was coming two times after all) particularly that it was all during the same day; or 2. call me to let me know another customer was coming to see it and give me the option to come earlier or to call me if the customer did not buy the car. When I arrived, one of the managers tried to get my attention to see another car, twice the mileage, etc. etc. treating me like a sucker and not an interested buyer. My advise, there are plenty of dealers around. Just don't go there.

I would not recommend this dealer.

While other dealerships are always busy and hardly can take you in, this place, even tho is big, but customer service relation is at a personal level, they know your vehicle better than you do, witch is a peace of mind especially that I know nothing about mechanic and are trustworthy.

2014 Focus Warranty DTC Clutch Shudder

Once again I’ve had to bring in my 2014 Ford Focus for the chronic low-speed clutch shudder. Fortunately, it was under a parts warranty from the last clutch replacement and was covered 100%. JR does his job very well and has a pleasant personality. Although the service dept at DCH Ford of Thousand Oaks does an excellent job of servicing our vehicles (we have two 2014 Ford Focus cars that have the DTC drivetrain), it’s highly doubtful that our next cars will be Fords due to such a negative experience with having to replace the clutches every 8K-10K miles. Ford’s extended warranty on the transmission control module is a joke when the actual clutch materials get ruined and eventually I’ll be paying out of pocket every 8K-10K miles to keep my cars drivetrain operating smoothly.

I would recommend this dealer.

Routine service

In and out in just 1/2 a day. Love the review of safety checks. Nice to know the amount of tread and brakes, etc left on the car. Drove off with confidence. In for oil change , tire rotation etc.

Great Service

My car died late on a Friday afternoon. No power or electrical with smoke filling the passenger area. Got towed to DCH Ford of Thousand Oaks. Brittany my Service Rep took my info and gave me the keys to a 2018 Ford Mustang with 140 miles as loaner. She keep me updated over the net few days via text and VM. In my case the damage was covered under warranty. DCH Ford and Brittany did an excellent job.

Great service, knowledgeable staff

When I was arrived at DCH in Thousand Oaks I had a vague idea of what I wanted. They listened to my thoughts, then showed me several different models that matched my interests. No pressure...just help. I purchased a car. I'll definitely look forward to doing business with them for my service appointments if this is representative of the way they do business.

Easy Doing Business with DCH Ford of Thousand Oaks

I've taken my Ford F-150 to this dealership three times now for regular servicing. They do a great job and make it so easy. I made this appointment online and it was confirmed but when I got to the counter, I was told I did not have an appointment showing. That I don't understand but my service advisor, J.R., then said, "But I'll take care of you." Those were great words because I had driven from Camarillo and had taken time off from work to be there. Thanks, J.R.!

I appreciated Brandon’s patience and support during the 2 day process of buying our Explorer. He did NOT pressure me which led me to buy. I would definitely refer others to meet with Brandon. I told him what features I wanted, and he led me to WHICH Explorer I wanted. I did not plan to buy that day, but i drove out with a brand new 2018 Explorer because of Brandon. If I did not have that rapport with Brandon, I would not have bought it. The sales guy above him bothered me- too pushy- but I stayed because of Brandon. We came back the next day with questions and he didn’t mind. My entire family felt very comfortable with him and we feel like we could come back if needed, with more questions. The dealership could use some more plush accommodations for the customers- I’m used to having a Keurig at BMW and a full breakfast at Lexus. There was no TV to watch or snacks. We were at DCH from 2-8 pm- we could have used some comfort. We had a nice experience with the Finance lady that night- she did a great job. Monday morning, we went back to ask her a question and she was so RUDE!!!! She made us feel like we were bothering her, we did not recognize her, and we felt like we were “bad people”. That left a sour taste in our mouth. :0(

Purchased my Ford Flex here back when the dealership was Kemp. Bought an extended warranty at the time and never had to use it until now. Keir Sole was wonderful and very helpful. They had me return my rental car and use one of theirs. They gave me a Ford Focus and although, I'm not a car kind of girl, it was fun to drive. Everyone in the service department was most helpful and very friendly This is the place to go for all things Ford. Thanks for everything.

Diesel diagnosis

By 04 f350 diesel on 3/4/2018 at 8:11 AM. Helped by The representative that helped me was Eric Johnson he was ok he only new what the mechanic told him I was ok with him he didn't go out of his way to help just shrugged his sholders.

I brought me 2004 f350 diesel in to get checked for engine codes. I drove the truck there the tender brought the truck to the back. Then I was told the mechanic couldn't start the truck to run the diagnostic odvisouly not happy. Then found they were able to start the truck to do the alignment and when I picked it up the tender was able to start the truck and bring it to me. They still charged me for the diagnosis they didnt complete......So obviously I was not happy I left a message for the service manager and still haven't received a call back from them. I would say if you have a diesel don't take it to these guys. I never got a diagnosis but they still recommended $1300 in work even though they never figured out what was wrong with my truck!
