Terrible experience

I bought my Forte in 2013 and the ownership of the dealer has changed since then. I needed repairs after hitting a pot hole. They replaced parts to a tune of $2300. Drove my car out of the dealership and quickly noticed the problem I took it in for was now worse. Drove it back and paid another bundle of money to get my car back on the road. It was obvious they did the big ticket item when all I needed was replacing the ruts.. They kept my car for 4 days and I couldn’t get a straight answer about anything. They couldn’t even explain where the damage was on the parts as every time I asked, the “technician” that worked on my car was conveniently not there. I felt like my car had been high jacked and question their integrity and work ethic. They take forever to return calls and they do not have any parts on site, I had to wait until the parts were ordered on both occasions. My car sat on the parking lot for hours before anyone looked at it. I was going to buy another Kia this year but the service experience at this dealership turned me off. I love Kia but can’t bare the idea of service at the Newmarket dealer. I won’t go back and I definitely don’t recommend you use the service there.

Purchased new 2018 Soul. James was new to the dealership. He was very helpful and knowledgeable. Answered all questions I had. No pressure to buy. Car was ready for pick up in a few days. Went over everything again. Good sales rep.

wife and i purchase a new niro and we've been impressed with the car and the service aftwrads. the dealership has a nice friendly atmosphere and the christmas cheer and balloons made a big difference this past week to raise our spirits. god bless this dealership. we worked with mark and he was a dear when helping us make our vehicle choice.

Lack of follow up is abysmal..

Having been in the business, I found the follow up to be seriously lacking. Sales associate promised a call back within an hour after Mark the Tower Guy lowballed trade. Promptly went to another Kia dealer and bought there. Shame you spend so much on advertising when staff ambivalently ‘chase’ customers to other same brand dealers

Worst Kia Dealership

I bought my KIA here late 2016. The ownership and location has been changed since then. The quality and integrity of this dealership went completely downhill immediately. Most of the employees i dealt before are all gone. The culture in the building is very negative and employees were said not to be paid on time. I WILL NOT CONDUCT ANY BUSINESS WITH THIS DEALERSHIP ANYMORE. KIA Canada should take a close look on how the business owner do their business and the effect on the KIA community in Newmarket.

Incompetence

I have been getting the run around for weeks with misinformation and lack of full disclosure. After signing the paperwork for a new vehicle there were numerous extra hidden hurdles and expenses that were not disclosed and were only discovered as I had to contact Hyundai Capital Finance and Kia Protect directly. I have cancelled my new purchase order as a result of this incompetence. Never had these issues when dealing when owned by New Roads Kia.

Agitated mess of a service department

I brought my 2017 forte in for there service department this past week for scheduled maintenance, when I arrived at service there were 3 advisors two of whom didn't appear to be working and told to wait for the last advisor, an older lady, getting my appointment into the computer was simple enough but was told it would be a few hours for regular service. When I asked about this I was told theyd lost most of there service technician staff, They didn't go into detail but having your staff quit seems on par with other service reviews I've read about management. Do not visit this service department. Take the extra time and go further for quality.

Poorly managed service an bad customer service. .

I bought a Kia Sportage from this dealer in November but I only got in possession of it in January 2017 next year. A few months later I called to make an appointment for the oil change but the dealer could not find any record of my purchase, neither had they recognized the car’s VIN number so I had to show them the purchase agreement. Making a service appointment with them proved to be a task near to impossible. In the end I succeeded to get my car in service, but again they could not find any record of my new car. Meanwhile Kia Newmarket ownership has changed and the location as well. Not long ago, I received a recall letter from KIA Canada, so I phoned the Newmarket dealer to make an appointment, and again, I went through the same hassle. In the end, I booked a service appointment but when I showed up with my car for service, they could not find any record of the booking neither my name or phone number or records of my car. The service front desk person was rather unfriendly and most of the time served me with lies to cover up their mishap. What happened next is beyond my comprehension. They took the car in service for 4 hours, then when I picked-up the car I’ve been told that nothing has been done because they run out of parts and after they will receive the parts I need to make another appointment. Overall my own experience with Kia Newmarket is bad. The service is poorly managed, service’s front desk personnel was rather unfriendly and dishonest.

I just bought my very first car from Kia of Newmarket and the sales guys Rob and Adam were very friendly and helpful and made my first car buying experience easy and comfortable. The entire staff at Kia of Newmarket were all so welcoming and made my experience absolutely amazing. Such a friendly, cozy, and welcoming atmosphere. 10/10 would highly reccomend going to Kia of Newmarket! Also absolutely LOVE my kia forte, definitely made an amazing choice, all thanks to Rob and Adam for taking the time to help me find a vehicle that best fit all of my wants and needs! Big thanks to everyone at Kia of Newmarket for making my first car buying experience so easy and relaxing!!

Engine Trouble

Staff at Newmarket Kia are very friendly and accommodating when you don't have appointment. My engine light came on and the car was sputtering almost to the point that it was going to stall out. It is a 2017 Forte LX+ automatic purchased new at the end of January 2017. I took it to Newmarket Kia as it was the closest dealer when the problem occurred. It was Saturday at about 10:30 and the service department closes at 1:30. The service adviser thought that they wouldn't be able to get the car in to the shop to inspect until approx. 12:30 because they were very busy. There was a good possibility that I would have had to rent a car if the parts were not in stock and since the shop closes early on Saturdays. To my surprise they were able to diagnose and fix the problem very quickly. They fixed the problem (coil) and had an oil change done before the original time quoted when it would go into the shop. I live in Durham Region and purchased my Kia in Markham but with the quality of service I received I would probably make the drive to Newmarket to get my car regularly serviced! I would highly recommend Newmarket Kia!

Warranty Work

This is the 2nd time I've had my Sorento in for Warranty work. I did not purchase the vehicle at Kia of Newmarket, but they have been A+++ with their service. I noticed a big difference this time with their new service consulatant's and I'd like to give a shout out to Sonya for her excellent service. I would definitely purchase my next Kia at this dealership.

Shame on Me:Paid for service & trust twice but didn't get it

Mid 2016: A 'Sanity Check' was performed mid-2016 for ~$250. There was very little air coming through the ventilation system but everything passed and was checked off and confirmed the cabin filter was fine. I took it to Mr. Lube a few days later to re-check the cabin filter but it was so plugged they had to rip it out with pliers. I called to complain but they wouldn't do anything about it - even though I kept the filthy plugged one. What a waste of $250. Unfortunately I had to go back on May 1st 2017 to fix a noise from the rear wiper motor as it is covered under warranty. I also requested to have our winter tires changed. The tires were changed but they did not inflate them. They were at 18,20,26,24 PSI. Brutal, I should have done it myself but I chose to pay $49.95. They indicated the noise from the wipers was from the rubber rubbing on the window. Wrong again, the same noise occurs when the wiper is off of the window. They obviously didn't check or didn't care. I took it to a mechanic nearby and there is something wrong with the wiper motor. I will just have to find somewhere else to take it for the warranty as i cannot go back to KIA Newmarket. I am furious. That is it for me and KIA Newmarket - and anyone that asks (or even doesn't ask) I will relay my experience. I don't care about the money, it is the trust I put in them. There was a breach of this trust once, yet I went back for a second beating - so i guess 'Shame on Me'.

I rate this dealership with 5 stars because everyone at Kia of Newmarket was friendly and helpful. My experience today with Blake was amazing. He was professional, patient and helpful and helped match us up with the perfect vehicle for our needs and budget. No shady tactics - just straight up information and amazing service. Terrible service

I went to this dealership with full intentions of purchasing a car that day. I loved my previous 2000 Kia Sephia which I had for over 7 years. It was a reliable car that I had purchased used and finally had to retire it in 2016. I knew purchasing a new Kia would be the right choice. Unfortunately, when I went to this Kia dealership, the staff was very unprofessional, did not know their products at all, took me for a test drive in a car that was not even remotely close to what I requested, and to top it off, stopped for gas while on my test drive. After spending 2 hours at the dealership asking what the price of the car would be with all of the features I had selected, they still could not figure it out and wanted to go for another test drive!!! Finally, I had to leave because they still could not provide me with the price, when I could pick up the car, or even if they had it on the lot. I left the dealership, went to New Roads Mazda, had a price in 10 minutes, test drove the car I was going to purchase, and bought it right then. I will unfortunately never go back to Kia because of this terrible experience.

Service will take your money

Kia Service ripped our family out of money overcharging for brakes and service. We've had to replace our brakes for both our our Kia's (bought in 2012 at the Newmarket location) twice now. Kia charged us over $2000 the first time for new brakes on the Sportage. Fast forward a year and a half we've learned that what we paid for wasn't quite done and we were overcharged. Both routers ceased and we were made to feel like it was our fault. On top of it, we were told had we brought in our cars and paid over $100 every other month (which is really $200 for 2 vehicles which equals $1200 per year) to have our brakes looked at we could've avoided such costs. I call BS here! I suggest strongly not having your car serviced here. They will tell you that they have stand up products however you will be replacing car parts constantly and paying an outrageous amount for it. We went elsewhere and we saved over $1300 on brakes and they are the same brand that Kia uses. Very disappointed since the Sales team is phenomenal at this location. If only we weren't ripped off and made to feel horrible about our car maintenance. Way to take ownership here Kia!
