bad after sales

Nobody bothered to call us that our plates and registration are in their office. This is the first time I needed to go back to the dealership just to get my plate/registration. My husband works out-of-town and I juggle my time between work and my daughters school and activities. This is so much hassle for me! I will never transact with this dealership again!

Used Car Customers Treated Poorly

I would strongly discourage anyone from doing business with LaFontaine Volvo of Farmington Hills. We worked with Ted Kress, salesman, and Chris Chambers, the used car sales manager, to come to an agreement on purchasing a used car. We called on a Saturday morning at 10:30am, were assured that the car was still available and accepted their asking price on an Infinity G37 which we had recently test driven. We clearly communicated our agreement to purchase it and immediately went to our bank, had a cashier’s check cut for the total price of the vehicle and then headed up I-75 to pick up the car, a two hour drive as we live south of Toledo. Half way there, we received a call telling us that they were had just sold the car that Chris Chambers had sold us two hours earlier. I thought he was kidding at first as it was incredible that any business, especially a Volvo dealership, would do that to a customer. However, this is apparently common practice at this dealership as evidenced by reviews I’ve since read. In hindsight, we may well have dodged a bullet as customer reviews also included comments about extremely poor customer service after the sale, particularly with used cars, and shoddy “reconditioning” work that was Mr. Chambers’ chief sales pitch.

I would not recommend this dealer.

Service department

I brought my car in for a minor repair, never the less, the service department could not have been more accommodating. The service tech came out without being called and took my mirror apart to find the issue & I asked for an estimate first. He said no problem, I’ll put it back if you don’t want to buy it here. I did buy it and it was fixed in a jiffy. out the door in 5 minutes. Very happy.

Very accomadating!

Even thought the dealership is under construction, Everything was done to make it as comfortable as possible. For example, the temperature in the temporary waiting room was very cold. Brian immediately adjusted it.

Terrible Indifferent

I have spent almost 3,900 on repairs on my 2002 volvo in the past month while very ill due to cancer treatments. They never offered rides, shuttles or loaners. I was promised my car today by 3. I HAD TO ASK for a drop off - by 3 because of a cancer appointment. Now it is 4:49 and I am told I can pick it up. I have no way to do that and there is no one available. Do I believe it will be dropped off by 9AM? I am in the market for a new car and I will not use this dealership. A few days ago I found a friend to drive me and took an Uber home- at their suggestion no mention of a ride home. I am very disappointed at the changes to this service department and will make every effort to never use it again

Exceptional service from vehicle selection to delivery

LaFontaine Volvo provided exceptional service starting with vehicle selection and choice through to the delivery. As a previous Volvo owner, I had a good idea what I wanted, but my salesman Kyle helped refine my decision based on the vehicles and options available. Once I selected the perfect vehicle it was extremely easy and seamless to finally pick up my vehicle just a few days later. I would not hesitate purchasing a vehicle from LaFontaine again.

Bought 4 new Michelin tires Pilot 4 season tires & alignment

Worst experience ever. Lafontaine Farmington is horrible.

I Was a regular customer to this lafontaine @ Farmington hills. I gave my car for 80000 miles service and I had told them about the some chucking noise. I got a call exactly after a week telling my car is ready for delivery. I asked for the total amount on call. When the agent told it's 0$ I knew something is wrong. Actually they forgot to service my car even though they kept it for a week. But still they told me to collect it and I reached there after 2 hours and they say my car was serviced and ready for delivery. But I noticed it wasn't washed. When I asked they started looking each other which was insane. My car was more dirty then ever. But I still paid 450$. 1 week later my car giving me notification telling tire pressure critical. They not only forgot to wash my car they forgot to check tire pressure. I strongly feel they did nothing. No one even cares what u going through. Such a horrible place to get your car serviced. All the Good reviews they have am sure it's from their employers. I strongly recommend to avoid this fake dealer.

Buying Certified Pre Owned Volvo

I had an excellent sales experience at La Fontaine. Contrary to my past experience at other dealerships, there was no overbearing sales pressure from the Sales Rep Tom Msrvoso or anyone else at the dealership. After the sale there were two "glitches," and Tom acted as my advocate to ensure that the problems were solved in an excellent manner. I would highly recommend Tom and the entire La Fontaine team.

Great experience at the Volvo dealership

My wife Kristen and I recently leased a new XC90 vehichle at your dealership and had the pleasure to work with Jhin Hur.  We test drove five different vehicles (four from competitor companies) before choosing the XC90. I am writing you to let you know that Kristen and I were very impressed with Jhin's sales style, knowledge/expertise, and effort throughout our car buying experience.   Jhin's sales style was perfect- he was friendly and not pushy.  He seemed genuinely interested in helping us find us the right vehicle and quickly asked pertinent questions to understand what we were looking for. When asked about strengths and weaknesses of different vehicles, he was open and honest.  We told him we were interested in test driving other competitor vehicles and he was in support of that (which was refreshing to see as he wanted to make sure we were making the right decision).   Jhin's knowledge/expertise when it came to the XC90 was impressive.  He answered all our questions and had great knowledge on all of the XC90s features and how to use/activate them in the vehicle.  He did a good job following up in emails (preferred communication route) that were both detailed and concise when additional questions were asked after our initial visit.   Jhin's effort was also commendable.  Once the purchase was made and we were pressed for time as my wife had to work in the late afternoon, Jhin took the initiative without being asked to transfer our baby car seat and license plate while we were finishing up paperwork.  He then personally drove to our house later that evening to pick up the title we had forgotten to bring and further explain how to use and integrate some of the features on the vehicle (he set up our garage door openers through the vehicle, set up an app on our phone to access the vehicle, etc.). In conclusion, we want to thank you and your team for a terrific car leasing experience and believe Jhin Hur is a true asset to your company.

Great Volvo purchase experience

I worked with Jhin in the sales department on the purchase of my new 2016 V60 T6 R-Design wagon. Also involved was his mngr Matt Griffith. From the time I began looking at a few different Volvos, to the test drive, working out the numbers of the V60 and my trade in Volvo, and taking delivery of the new Volvo was simple and satisfactory. I was highly impressed with collecting my new Volvo, as was that the weather wasn't good on that day (typical Michigan winter). Jhin had the vehicle cleaned and fuel topped off; then had it situated where it was easy to move things from the old one to the new one. For paperwork and that side of the deal, Matt and Agron were helpful and made the wrapping up of the transaction quick & painless. Both were great though email and phone communication on items, since I travel extensively out of state for work. I did have my trade-in Volvo serviced at this location, and that experience was top notch as well. Which factored in to me purchasing the new Volvo from Jhin at LaFontaine Volvo.

Wonderful Sales Experience

I recently leased a 2017 Volvo S60 from Lafontaine Volvo. My salesman was Jhin Hur. My experience with Lafontaine and Jhin was outstanding. I have leased a lot of cars and this one of the best experiences I have ever had. Jhin was a pleasure to work with and always very responsive and understanding. He went an extra mile to make sure my garage door opener was remote into my car. I was so happy he did that. I am very pleased with Jhin, Lafontaine Volvo and the Volvo S60 vehicle.
