Friendly, no pressure sales process

We've had a relationship with our Ft. Lauderdale Land Rover dealership since 2008 and recently purchased a new Discovery Lux for my wife and had a nail in her tire this summer while in the mountains of North Carolina. We contacted the Asheville dealership and they had to order a new tire and didn't want us driving the car over the weekend so they provided a loaner. The lease on my car was over so we drove new Range Rovers and leased a 2019 Sport MHEV that our South Florida deanship couldn't find so we look forward to working with the Asheville team each summer when we are away. Great job!

My visit to Land Rover was everything but great. I trusted the service department to tell me if my vehicle was safe to drive. But they failed to do so. The dealership at first quoted me for 500 out the door. When I dropped my vehicle off I was then informed that it was $140 per "Concern" so the total bill would be $420 just to look at my vehicle. During that time they failed to inform me about some major safety issues. My AC Compresser could have broke the belt that the whole engine runs on and could have killed My 5 month old son and myself. They also failed to inform me that there was a serious leak in my Brake Master Cylinder, again all the fluid could have leaked out and my brakes could have stopped working at any point in time and could have killed my son and I. I was told I needed a new Wiper Motor when all they had to do was take five minutes to look over the system and see that it was not installed correctly. They also failed to inform me that I had a Misfire. They Charged me $140 Dollars to tell me that my key was stuck in the ignition and they didn't tell me what I needed to fix it. After my visit they told me I needed a new Ignition Cylinder, when all I needed was some dry lube and a new battery. I also was never given a Multi Point Inspection sheet showing me that they actually preformed the inspection. I trusted this Dealership to be professional and efficient because they are supposed to be the professionals. But now I cant even trust them to do something as simple as a oil change.

About time that the truth comes out

I’ve had 2 LR’s through LROA. This place is a joke. New customers beware, just wait until you follow up service come around. Ha ha ha. Oh they will make you feel like a king or queen to get you 60k+ but then comes the repair bills and uncovered warranty items and of course the arrogant attitudes. These folks cannot even afford to drive what you are purchasing but act like they are the special ones. Not joke I have been dealing w LROA for over 6 years way back when they had a real GM by the name of Don. I have seen the revolving door spin over there for a long time. Hey just for example your brakes are not under warranty, cost for brake job there $2000+. But Same exact set up at Organic Mechanic in WAshe $1100 out the door. You do the math. Unless you ego is so high you like to toss cash in the wind (which most of us you are fortunate) well we didn’t get there by being stupid. Best of luck to you. LR does make a pretty fantastic and safe auto and yes I love my LR4 V8. But can’t same the same for the dealer. Maybe someday they will get a little humble and truly focus their sights on the customer and not the bank.

Poor service

Worst customer service experience I have had. Bridgette in the service department was a nightmare to work with, very poor attitude, rude and had extremely poor communication with the rest of the facility. Bridgette would not communicate with the sales department to get the promised repairs done that were needed at the time of purchase, even after my car was taken there 2 times. Will never buy from them again.

Purchased a certified pre-owned Evoque from Land Rover Asheville last year. I have needed to take the car in a couple of times for service. The service personnel, including my salesman, have gone out of their way to provide a loaner and return my vehicle in top running condition. My Evoque came with a 100,000 mile bumper to bumper warranty and so far everything has been covered. They treat me like family and I have been very impressed and happy with my first Land Rover purchase.

Unnecessary expensive service

After more than $3,000 for new rotors and tires,(why they couldn't re-cut the rotors is beyond me) they then charged me $700 for an oil change!!! Included bleeding the brakes that they just did a few months ago. Total rip off place

expensive repairs

Nice efficient people . 60,000 mile xx found $5000 worth of fixing! had to take their word. Provide me a loaner and kept me appraised of progress. Have taken my LR4 there several times and am pleased -- a bit expensive. Very nice waiting area.

terrible response for service for a 150k auto

I am the owner of this 1 year old 150k rover. We had to call 3 times in order to get any response for an appt & had to leave messages each time.. We never talked to live person. We finally got a call back 4 days later after the 3rd message was left . AND Of course there were no loaners available as never are. So we dropped off the car & it was serviced for a 500$ oil change. The entire experience dealing with this dealership for service has been half xxx at best. I just hope that the attitude of the mechanics doing the work is better than the front office staff. I have dealt only with upscale brand autos for over 30 years & every other brand makes u feel like they will do what ever it takes to make the customer feel like it is was worth paying 150k for an auto(loaner, pick up & delivery, drive back to home or office if needed, immediate answer to phone calls not a recording to leave message that gets returned some 4 days later, matter a fact personnel that make u feel like u are a problem not the reason they have a job, attitude of excellence not that u are bothering them, service to the max even if u did not purchase the auto there as the next one could be purchased there) . I was going to purchase another rover but in no way would I ever go through this experience again with another over priced auto. All other high line brands & even Lower brands have a better experience than this dealership offers. By the way, I think it is all rover dealerships.. This dealership & ROVER itself need a new GM that cares because even though they have a fad product, today, that will not always be the case.. Status wears thin when the service provided does not meet expectations . U may get them once but repeats will not occur as in my case. Even if the product becomes off somewhat , if the service is excellent u go back to that dealership because of the service & less hassle. FYI , the emails were sent to the person who drives but does not own the product only. Look at the registration some time as well.

Great Place

The whole team is great!!!! Bought the Rover Sport there new and only let them service it. Could not be happier. Easy to make appointments and great place to wait in. I work from waiting area all the time as I drive from Spartanburg, SC.

Dealership Lacks Good Management and Management Practices

I visited Land Rover of Asheville to make a third vehicle purchase. The salesman I dealt with was Jay Christian. Jay is a stand up guy. As we were negotiating the terms of a possible trade, I was turned over to the manager, which is a typical car dealership tactic. The manager approached me and began to tell me how my vehicle was worth little or nothing, while his used vehicle was as good as they get. The manager (who is new to the dealership) was the epitome of the less than reputable "used car salesman." The manager was condescending and rude in a "wormy' sort of way. I had to look past him and his actions and focus on my established relationship with Mr. Jay Christian. After speaking with Jay I decided to make the vehicle purchase. I did so only because of him; were it not for him I would have gone elsewhere. Land Rover of Asheville has always had a good reputation; known to be fair, upfront and good for their word. It's too bad that they have a manager who now does not seem to embrace the same qualities and does not value the customer.

Outstanding and Commendable Service!!!

This is our second purchase from Land Rover Asheville. We had such a wonderful buying experience with Jay Christian the first time with our LR4 that we did come to him again for our new Discovery. He is unrivaled, dedicated and very committed that you are happy and satisfied when you leave the dealership. We had referred friends to him because we know he will deliver a wonderful service. We also would like to commend Steve, Bridget and the Service Dept team. They do their best to deliver a great maintenance service that we drove our first LR4 for 7 years with very minor issues. With our new Discovery, we had an accessory installation issue and it was taken cared of promptly. And to David, who took great care driving our LR4 and Discovery back and forth during services. This Dealership is highly recommended!!!

Amazing Service

We are building a home at the Cliffs at Walnut Cove and had our Range Rover up for the weekend. The battery died and we called Land Rover assistance. They came out jumped the car and told me to take it two miles away to the Asheville Dealer. This was Saturday, afternoon around 3:00. I pulled in told them what had happened, the manager promptly gave me his car to drive and my car battery was replaced by noon on Monday. I feel confident I will be doing more business with this dealership once we are living at Walnut Cove. They were great!
