Horrible service

I would really like to rate them 0 stars if possible. Worst car dealer experience ever. We purchased a van while o was pregnant and traded in our car. I just went in to look at the vans and felt pressured and intimidated to put a down payment. Then when I said I would come back later in the evening with my husband I realized they hadn’t given my liscence back after the test drive so I was driving around without a liscence! xxx!!! They did not put the 200$ deposit down on the bill of sale, thank goodness I kept my receipt and then they gave the money back. I would never buy here again. For the price we paid I’m getting a xxxx Honda oddesey in Ottawa next time.

Warranty work refused

I had just bought a 2016 Dodge Ram Sport and took it to a local garage to be safetied. They informed me that the lower ball joints were bad. They also said my brakes had 4mm left of pad so that they would very soon need to be changed but would be ok for the safety. I took the truck to Lapointes Dodge and asked for the ball joints to be changed under warranty. They informed me that the warranty for this work was soon to run out so they booked it in. I was called the next day and told to pick up the truck. The ball joints were not changed. They said although there was play in them, it was not enough for Chrysler to pay them for warranty work. I am mortified that this could ever be a policy for a vehicle safety system. They wouldn’t do the work and I had to pay for it at the other garage or I would not have been able to get my safety certificate. How deplorable! I have 3 dodge vehicles because I believed in the quality but I would rather go any place but Lapointes since they are so greasy and dishonest.

Poor service

Poor service making me pay for my car to get looked at while under warranty and they claimed there was nothing wrong with it. Went back numerous times still nothing. Took it to another place they found the issue but of course my warranty ran out. Got ripped off on my trade in. Bought a brand new car had it for 6 months nothing but problems and lost $16000 on a 6 month old car. No negotiations at all. Bought 2 cars there never again.

Poor communication

I have brought my 1500 in for some warranty work. They always state they will call me when it’s ready which they never do. Then to find out my truck has been ready all day and sitting in there lot. My last experience with this dealership was last Monday, they had told me I needed a new part which had to be ordered (which is fine). They lady stated to me to keep my phone close by cause they would book me in as soon as the part arrived. So it has been a week so I call them, part is in but nobody has contacted me. I was supposed to head back to work Wednesday up North now I have to wait because of this dealership is booked. Very poor communication!! I paid a lot of money for this truck and the warranty on it.

The worst

They say they offer a military discount but can't actually tell you what they offer it on. When you go in to inquire about a vehicle they like to get your liscence, keys and debit card to hold hostage. When I asked for them back I got the run around. Take forever to perform factory recalls if they even ever get to them at all. They also tried to deny me warranty work stating my warranty was up and it clearly was not. Do yourself a favour and stay away from here and Renfrew

Buyers beware

This dealership believe in ripping off customers, I went in to get my deposit refunded as they were unable to meet the purchase deadline or agreed terms and rather then returning my refund, stated they have 30 days to make the deal and then proceeded to try and talk me into another vehicle that I did not want. This dealership is shady.

Excellent Service Department

Went in to the dealership for a problem with my vehicle. The entire service staff offered me some of the best customer service I’ve ever received. They were quick to diagnose my problem and offer me repair options at different price points. Their mopar parts offer a great warranty as well. Highly recommend them to everyone. I had a great experience with Chad, As well as hailey at the service desk. Highly recommend going here for any repairs!

Worthy of a marketplace investigation.

Went to book a maintenance scheduled inspection for my 1500. According to my warranty book schedule, it was to be a basic service that cost around $40 in the past. Was given an invoice for over $1400. Was told by the service manager that Fiat Chrysler Canada had deemed the area an extreme climate zone and the additional work was required. When questioned that I never saw any reference in the service manual to climate I was told rudely to read the fine print. I read the fine print and found nothing. Contacted FCA Canada and was told by a customer rep that no such policy exists and that any additional maintenance required for Canada's climate was addressed in the manual provided. One item on the invoice was an $80 charge to change a cabin filter. My truck does not have a cabin filter. Would have given zero stars but I felt I was treated fairly by the sales staff. Fair price for truck and trade in. Delivered on time. I have watched the service dept go from good to bad to worthy of a marketplace investigation over the last 3 yrs. Consider yourself warned. Take your business elsewhere

VERY disappointed

It would appear that the *BAM* "All new" *BAM* Lapointe Chrysler has taken a Kamikazi nose dive in service. Purchased a new 1995 Neon then a 2007 Jeep Compass from them. Had at least 90% of all service done there. (Spent a fortune over the 22 years) Now it seems that they cannot fix a clutch or a corroded wire! Been towed in 3 times and now wire crapped out again. They also cannot fix a clutch. Spent about $2000 and clutch still no good. Took it to a local "Mom and Pop" garage and they fixed it for $108. I shall never darken their doorway again.

Worst dealership ever

They sold me a broken truck. Caught with them for 2 years to get the warranty work covered and they refused coming up with every excuse. I am now filling with omvic as well as a law suit for the reimbursement of the troubles they have caused not to mention HAVE DAMAGED my truck while looking at some of the work. Service advisor Chad is nothing but a liar and will never admit to the shop doing anything wrong. The lady with the rim that was damaged due to them, I would report it. Once they sell you the vehicle, they no longer care about you!

VERY BAD SERVICE

What should of been a 5 day stay ends up being a couple of weeks and had to take my van some where else. When I called they didn't care if it was a month and then acted like I should respect them and not yell. You would yell if some one didn't care about your car and still wanted to be payed. Please , please dont buy from lepoints. Stay away from any Dodge!!!!!!!!

AWEFUL - HORRIBLE !!!!

I own a 2010 Jeep Wrangler Sahara Unlimited. Love the vehicle and was looking to upgrade to a 2017. A friend of mine was also looking for a lot of information on a similar 2017 to what I was looking for. We went into Lapointe's and met with Mike and eventually Tiffany. We spent 55 minutes with them and through that time several things happened. NOT ONCE did either person SPEAK ONE WORD with my friend, a female buyer, even though we were very clear she wanted to buy. Not once did either Michael nor Tiffany offer to let us see, touch, feel, smell or otherwise get close to a Jeep. They seemed too intent on searching databases and trying to talk price without EVER showing us a single vehicle. I didn't buy my first Jeep here for similar reasons 7 years ago and I didn't buy my second Jeep here either; inspite of being only ten minutes from my home. PS: My friend and I purchased nearly identical 2017 Jeep Wrangler Sahara Unlimited's with option package 24G. Her's is white with leather and mine is Crystal Metallic with cloth. We purchased at SouthBank Dodge Ottawa and were treated exceptionally well. Good Luck to you Lapointe's, We won't be back!

Disappointed

We were promised a few things that never happened. We were very disappointed in the lack of customer service. In a business where you hope to get repeat customers I would have expected the customers service top notch, but we found it quite the opposite.

I have bought multiple vehicles from this dealer in the past 9 years. Great deals and up front when it comes to making the customer happy. My last purchase was a 2016 dodge ram sport 1500. It was as easy as telling them what I wanted to signing paperwork in less than an hour. Will diffidently go back again in the future.

Unethical Behaviour

I have received multiple calls from Lapointe recommending various service. On multiple occasions they recommended a brake system flush for my 2010 Jeep Patriot. I have told them before that Chrysler recommends against conducting such a flush in Technical Service Bulletin 26-001-09. In mid-October 2016 they called me to recommend the service again. I questioned them on it, and when I told them about the bulletin (again) they seemed not to know anything about it. In fact, the woman on the phone questioned if I had received this information from Chrysler, and I had to explain that she in fact would have received it. I find it very unethical for them to recommend service that they know is not only not required, but explicitly recommended against by Chrysler. I would not recommend taking any "recommended service" without checking for yourself first. Their service department though has consistently performed good quality service, it's just the customer service and pushy tactics that I don't like. Anyone who's had a brake system flush should check TSB 26-001-09 online and see if their vehicle is listed. IF it is, go back and ask for your money.

Do not want to use this firm again for any regular servicing as I have little confidence in their ability or customer care. Seems the manager is never around and front of house is left to suffer the rath of customers and it's not their fault.

Awesome Experience - Great Car

These guys are fantastic. They found me an executive demo Chrysler 300 Hemi for half the price of a new one. Last year's model with only had 11K on it. The car runs amazing. I will never deal with anyone else. This was my second Chrysler 300 that I have purchased from LaPointe Chrylser. Best car on the road in my opinion. I have never had any problems with them. I drove the first one for 7 years. Never had an issue with it.
