Recalled Airbags

By j66485469 on 5/16/2018 at 10:25 PM. Helped by Billy.

Very prompt service. Staff extremely friendly and fast service. Cleaned car and filled it up with gas. Loaner car was offered but I decided to wait because they have a very nice lounge with lots of snacks and drinks.

I would recommend this dealer.

Worst Dealer Ever

By Memphis Owner on 1/17/2018 at 5:34 AM. Helped by Do not remember, besides Sales Manager.

Took my new RX 350 here a while after purchasing it in Nashville since this dealer was so unfriendly/unhelpful when I tried to purchase there (said they only sold vehicles at sticker price--no discounts!) Still a poor experience for service also. Not a smile or friendly word, and they were surprised that I expected a complimentary wash. I have happily continued getting service in Nashville. Everyone here seems so unhappy and take it out on the customer. Love my car, but not worth an unpleasant experience to use this dealer. Both Nashville dealers are so much more superior than Memphis. They actually appreciate my patronage.

I would not recommend this dealer.

Worst Vehicle Service Experience in My Life!

By NEVER a Lexus in Memphis on 8/3/2017 at 10:03 PM. Helped by Gary York.

Vehicle suspension issue diagnosed and repaired by Lexus, so I thought. 2 weeks later I experienced a blow out as a result of the suspension issue being misdiagnosed. I was contacted by the service director, Gary York only to blame me for not using the correct terms when explaining the problem that I was having with my vehicle. Mr. York contacted me on several occasions in defense of the lack of a thorough diagnosis being perform on my vehicle. Never offering any courtesy for the inconvenience of having to repetitively visit the dealership for the same issue. One instance my vehicle was brought to me on flat. I reported this to Mr. York, and was told "at least I did not charge you for airing up the tire". As long as I am in the Memphis area, I will never purchase another Lexus because Lexus of Memphis is the only option to have my vehicle repaired at the dealer.

I would not recommend this dealer.

I purchased and service my ES350 with them

By Largea7car on 7/16/2017 at 10:48 PM. Helped by Multiple employees over time.

I Purchased my ES350 from them new in 2007 and have been using them for service since. I have not had a bad experience in the 10 years we have been doing business. I cannot say that about any other dealer I have ever done business with.

I would recommend this dealer.

Incorrect quote

By Onetimeuser on 6/21/2017 at 8:20 PM. Helped by Tim over the phone, then John in person.

I needed to get electrical wiring set up for a hitch so I could tow a trailer, and uHaul wouldn't do that part with a foreign model. Some guy in the service department named Tim quotes me at 175 for the part and 125 for labor, tells me it should take approximately 2 hours. I get to the dealership, and I'm told by someone in the service department that labor is 250 because it's 125 per hour, making the total 470 after taxes, drastically different than expected. I would have tried to get quotes from Toyota dealerships had I known this, and since I'm scheduled to move tomorrow, I don't have the opportunity to cancel the appointment and look elsewhere. Lexus was unsympathetic and told me "well that's the truth of it" (referring to the new price). Thoroughly disappointed, first and last time coming here for sure.

I would not recommend this dealer.

Frustrated

By The Jones' on 4/19/2017 at 1:31 PM. Helped by Mechelle.

I had my car serviced a few months ago and was told I had a recall and they were going to call me once the part came in... never received the call. I have tried to schedule an appointment several times but they NEVER seem to have a courtesy car available that fits my schedule! The dealership in general isn't all that bad, but they hardly ever answer the phone and you get stuck with the answering service, which is a freaking joke!

I would not recommend this dealer.

Over priced and pompous.

By Doogle on 5/30/2016 at 3:39 AM. Helped by 2.

We wanted to purchase a RX 350. Memphis was the logical dealership being 1 hour from us.. Salesman was nice enough but nothing extra.. No other employees even spoke to us while we were in the show room. They low balled us on our trade in and came off of MSRP $1,000 and wanted to charge an outrageous amount for window tint that was already installed. We called Parker Lexus in Little Rock and beat Memphis deal $4,000 over the phone and they tinted the Windows for free. Parker acted like they wanted our business. Lexus of Memphis acted like we had inconvenienced them by showing up.

They were the highest price dealer in a 9 hour drive from Memphis. They new this and still didnt care. They called back and drop the price too little and too late. I called Park Place in Dallas and they beat the price by $3000 on the phone. I asked them to give me the best price and they did.

Called & spoke with Sean about my GS350 that I wanted to sell. We agreed upon a price over the phone. I stopped by a few days later with the car. They wrote me a check & he even drove me home. Easy transaction & fair price. I have bought 4 cars from them over the years & always a good experience.

By sherrydst on 1/25/2012 at 5:15 PM. Helped by VARIOUS- 1/24/12 Open house/reception.

I was personally invited to stop by their dealership on January 24th from 5-7pm for the official unveiling of the newly redesigned 2013 Lexus GS350! For an organization that boasts of their passion for providing a world-class experience, I again was not impressed. I still embrace the thrill of owning and driving a Lexus, but I will never purchase another Lexus from the Memphis dealership. When I entered, there were at least 10 salespeople who basically looked at me as if to say "what are you doing here?" I continued to move about, and still no contact until I asked one salesperson to tell me what would make me want to purchase the 2013 GS350. He appeared stunned and mumbled something about it being a better car than the GS430 that I own, said the GS430 was more conservative...okay. As they continued to sip beer and wine, they never offered us anything or inquired as to whether we were looking for a new vehicle or anything. I am still stunned that in 2012, this could still happen. I must sales team leaves a lot to be desired; however, the service department appears to be much better, so KUDOS to them for having to deal with the folks that the sales team has pissed off. As my friends and I say (4 of which are in the market this year) Nashville, her we come! Respectfully, yet sadly submitted

By RohnRees on 8/31/2010 at 6:56 PM. Helped by 1.

I took my LS430 in for a routine oil change and general checkup. I called days before to book a time. I arrived on the day and time and checked in. A friend picked me up and we went to lunch. I called 2 hours later and was told car was not ready. I'm thinking, this is odd, never had this happen. So I asked my friend to go ahead and head back to the dealership. Close to 3 hours after I brought my car in, I arrived back only to find it still wasn't ready. When I asked, they had no idea. So, I sat in the waiting room waiting in excess of 3 hours for a simple oil change where I actually scheduled the appointment. Without an apology they slapped the $80 or so dollar fee on me and off I went. Unsatisfied and never going back to that dealership again. Now on another similar story. My wife drives an Acura MDX. Just so happens her previous oil change took about 2 hours. Guess what, Acura insisted that the oil change was free. My wife offered to pay, but being the quality customer service oriented company they apparently are, they sent her off happy even though 2 hours of her day was spent waiting on her car. We will both be back there for sure. Making money of course is a key factor especially in this economy. However, you you don't have the customer service to back it up, your days are numbered. there are plenty of Lexus dealerships in the tri-state area. Memphis is definitely off our list. Thanks for letting me talk.

I would not recommend this dealer.

By Car_Hound on 1/17/2010 at 1:24 AM. Helped by Multiple.

I had a very bad experience with Lexus of Memphis. My car will not downshift smoothly. After multiple attempts at repairs, the service rep said it was my fault because of the way I drove the car. He said I needed to learn how to drive that particular car. WHAT? I have been driving for 30 years. Hello! It is an automatic transmission. During the visits, the service was substandard. After one visit, I was handed the keys. I went out expecting my car to be out front. It was not. Since there was not any one around, I had to search for my car on the back lot. On another visit, the car was pulled around front with mud splashed across the hood. I wrote a polite but firm complaint letter. I received a reply from the store manager, Stefan Smith. Basically, he told me to pound sand. He specifically told me that he had no problem with me going to a different dealership to buy my next car. I sent his letter to Lexus USA. They called and apologized for the content and tone of Smith's letter. Regardless of the Consumers Report evaluation, Lexus has quality issues. Many of my friends have the same transmission problems on my model and multiple other Lexus models. Lexus of Memphis wanted $2200 plus tax for a 60,000 mile check. I had the same work done at a very reputable shop for $989. Multiple attempts to repair the right rear power window. It still does not work. STAY AWAY!!
