Great team & atmosphere

The mechanic and office team are wonderful. The mechanic showed me my old part & why it needed replacing, the office team keeps the wait area as a nice space to wait / work and helps understanding the invoice.

I turned in my lease Kia Optima, and purchased another car

My lease was up on my 2013 Optima Hybrid. We loved the car and leased it from this dealership. Upon turning in the car, I found out through the sales people who told me this car would have equity, as it originally sold for $26,000, and I only leased it for 4 years, that the car was only worth $6000.00, and I was upside down. (Again, that's not what they told me when I leased it as I wanted to buy it when the lease was up, and it only had 51000 miles on it ). I then from the same dealership purchased for my wife, a 2014 Kia Cadenza, which was fully loaded and only had 34,000 miles. The dealership forgot to take care of the paperwork when I turned in my lease, which caused me 3 times visiting the dealership, to straighten things out as Kia Headquarters as they thought I was still driving the car. When Kia finally got caught up, they then hit me with a $429.00 Disposition Fee, for turning in the car. They said it could have been avoided if I purchased a new car, instead of the used one I bought for $25,000 which again was a luxury Kia, and from the same dealership. They called it a Loyalty Package. How much more loyal can I get?? Now I still have Kia calling me for this fee, again a "Disposition Fee" after I have already turned in the car, paid all taxes, and monies owned for a slight mileage overage, and bought and financed a luxury rated 2014 Cadenza. I sure hope the "Extra Warranty" which I purchased and is supposed to cover everything, according to the Finance Manager Juan Rodriguez, doesn't give me any surprises, I don't know how much more, my loyalty can hold out.

Screwed Again

I don't see how Mark Kia could receive such a high rating? We've bought 2 cars from them; a new car in 2012 and just recently a used 2014 from them and both experiences were similar with salesmen not showing up to appointments, bait and switch, many service add ons, etc to inflate the price. We ended up paying $3,354 to get out the door on a taxable sale of $12,530. $700 windows tinting, $2500 add on service contract, $1250 add on extended warranty, adding our car as trade in when we stated we didn't want to go that route, high pressure sales, etc.. Seems we always close at the end of the day when the employees want to go home so everything happens so fast you don't get time to really look over all the charges. We're never buying another car from Mark Kia!

I would not recommend this dealer.

I had an amazing experience at Mark Kia. I was dreading shopping for a car but Matt and Peter actually made car shopping FUN!!! I had a very strict and specific budget to work with and they helped me get into the car that I wanted without settling. I never felt pressured to buy anything and they were extremely patient when I was test driving and deciding on the perfect car. I have already recommended them to a few friends! Oil change and tire rotation

Great service but constantly confused at this dealship when oil changes are needed. First oil change I was told every 5000 miles and given a sticker for 7,500. When I called to ask they said they had new guidelines for the desert that differed from other states and I needed to come every 7,500, it had changed from 5000. This time I was told oil changes every 5000 miles. Really wish they would be more consistent I don't know why it keeps changing or when I am actually suppose to come back for my next oil change. I have a warrenty I spend a lot of money on so it's important for that reason to know so if I need to use it they don't go back and try to tell me I was over recommending miles for oil changes.

Don't trust this dealership--super shady

Terrible experience at this dealership. My daughter has been looking for a decent used car, saved up a pretty good down payment and knew exactly what she could afford. She saw a used car on the website and sent a request for more information. Lindsey contacted her and my daughter gave her the financial information and told her we lived pretty far away, so she wanted to get everything agreed upon before coming to the dealership. Several texts and calls later, my daughter was told the out-the-door price and what she estimated the payment would be. They couldn't get everything done last night, so this morning Lindsey was in touch again. All of the sudden, the payment was much higher and they wanted an addition amount for the down payment. Considering the out the door price she was given, the math didn't add up. She agreed to an additional downpayment and asked to talk to the finance person about the exact numbers. My daughter again said that we weren't driving all the way there unless all of the financial terms were in place. Within minutes a sales manager called and agreed that we were given the wrong numbers, and confirmed the terms that my daughter agreed with. He told us to come to the dealership and he would have the car ready and the paperwork ready to get her done quickly so she wouldn't be too late to work. We drove there (40 minutes) and the car wasn't even clean. We met with Lindsey signed a few non-financial papers. We drove the car around the block and expected to sign the paperwork after being there an hour. Another manager appears as my daughter was writing out her downpayment check and tells us they want even more for the downpayment! Seriously? We said no because we were told to come in based on the original terms. Then we got the typical sleazy car dealer line, "Are you going to let this car go over $200?". Yes, because you lied. You lied about the terms, you lied about the car being ready and you lied about the paperwork bring ready. Don't trust this dealership. They will con you and then switch up the agreement.

Bad Start Turned Golden...

Called Mark Kia and spoke with an assistant sales manager (Nick Hill) who painted a great picture, so we drove the 40 miles to come in on a late Sunday afternoon. Were told it would be so advantageous for us to trade in both our vehicles (we only called about trading 1 vehicle as lease was ending) we'd be delighted AND it would only take an hour and a half of our time to complete the deal. Got there and even though Nick knew what time to expect us we had to wait 20 minutes for him to show up. The vehicles that Nick referenced upon our arrival were a hybrid Optima and the Cadence due to high dollar rebates (we spoke about the Niro on the phone.) We were turned over to a female sales rep named Lindsey and we test drove both vehicles. Much to our surprise suddenly the Cadence was out of the picture because of cost...Nick knew our vehicle finances prior to our arriving, yet one of the vehicles now was suddenly "unworkable". Our mission was to replace our vehicles with high mileage vehicles and rid the expense of mid-range fuel. Nick put together numbers on (2) 2016 Optimas...1 hybrid and 1 not. We were told the hybrid would fetch 50 mpg and the non-hybrid would be about 40 mpg; considerably higher than the vehicles we were trading. The payments worked out to be quite a bit higher than our current payments and Nick showed us that the fuel savings would offset the higher payments. Our hour and a half turned into 4 hours at the dealership! We had the vehicles a couple of days when we discovered a window sticker rolled up in the glove box of the hybrid and were shocked and a bit angry to learn that Kia rated the mileage at 37 mpg...far cry from the 50 Nick boosted we'd get. When we contacted Nick to question this he started a very creative back peddling act which was riddled with lies. To add to the negativity we had called and asked for the license plate from one of the vehicles that we traded and were told it was in the mail...we never received it and later learned that our vehicle had been sold the day after we traded it and the plate was gone. This was important because we desired to apply for the plate refund and needed the number of the plate. Now we were stuck with 2 vehicles that we really did not want (remember we had originally talked about the Niro), higher payments and false mileage savings. Out of total frustration we thought we would try to speak with the dealership one more time before going to Kia Corporate and ended up speaking with the sales manager, Bob Weaver. Bob listened to our tale and was in total disbelief that so much could have gone so wrong. Bob turned us over to one of the managers named Jake, who listened, promised to call us back, never did and after a couple of contacts with him he never once followed through on anything he said he would do. We called Bob back and told him about Jake's lack of follow-through and he was tremendously disappointed stating that was not the way the Mark Kia did business. Bob promised that he would have the General Manager contact us to see what could be done to rectify the situation. We received a call from the General Manager, Jack Belsanti and he too was shocked that this had been our experience and asked if he could have a day to put together figures and see what he could do for a deal to make it right for us. Jack did call us back; we did not expect much but thought we'd hear him out and oh baby, were we pleasantly surprised...a deal was presented to us that more than made up for all the bad things that we had experienced. This deal included (2) 2017 Niros, which is what we originally wanted and they were very competitively price AND we were assured by Jack that these vehicles would indeed attain the 50 mpg we were seeking. Jack also took care of the finance part so that we did not have to deal with a very inhospitable finance person named Ken who we said that we would not deal with again. Bottom Line: Bob Weaver and Jack Belsanti made a very ugly experience a positive one by being truthful and doing what they said they would do. We would have absolutely NO hesitation going back to Mark Kia again because of these 2 individuals. By the way...we understand that Mr. Hill is no longer employed with Mark Kia...too bad, it was not our intent to cause him difficulty, but his deceptive sales tactics in dealing with us needed to be brought into the open because nobody deserves to be treated in such a fashion. Some people might say this is our fault for being ignorant and perhaps a part of that is true as we knew absolutely nothing about hybrids and believed what Nick told us. The pity in this is that the female sales rep, Lindsey had to know the truth about Nick's false mileage claim, yet she chose to sit quietly by in the room while the deal went down. We trust that this situation has been a learning experience for Mark Kia, we know it has been for us and we harbor no ill feelings. We just wanted to be treated fairly, which we were in the end. Thank you Jack and Bob. P.S. The Niros have been dream vehicles that drive excellently and do get 50 - 54 mpg.

Hybrid nightmare

My son's Optima Hybrid completely shut down on the freeway while driving and we looked to Mark Kia's service Department for help. From day one, Chris contacted me at every step of what turned into over a month long process. He assisted us in setting up a rental car and obtaining records from a different service Department. Despite the frustrations of not knowing what was wrong with the car, we were informed of all that was being done to diagnose the issue. Even when there were no answers, Chris kept me us posted almost daily! Our frustrations were his frustrations and he escalated our inquiries when needed and never made excuses for anything. After several weeks and countless hours, the technician were able to pinpoint the problem, order the parts, and fix the car. Because of the exceptional customer service and ongoing contact with Chris, the long wait and inconvenience was manageable. We will definitely be using Mark Kia Service--Chris--going forward for the Kia. Thank you!
