Buying a car---old school

If you're looking for a straight straight shooter than you need to go see Dave at Mass Auto Outlet. Find your car on the lot, take it for a drive. If you like it, buy it. If you don't keep looking. I bought my truck from Dave and it had a few little things and a few bigger than little things. Every time I brought them to his attention he said, "no problem, we;ll take care of it" and he did. As promised. Financed me, too. Not crazy about the rate, but rebuilding my credit. Got a great truck with low miles for a great price. I would recommend just about anyone looking for a good used vehicle to go see him.

Unprofessional and pushy

Before making a 2 hour trip I spoke with Dave. His first question to me is asking if I need financing. After reading up on common engine problems with the vehicle I was thinking of purchasing I asked if Dave had any service records. His response was “ weare a used car dealer these cars don’t come with a bible”. Knowing that the spark plugs in these cars have been known to seize and break I asked if they have been changed. Dave offeredto check that with his mechanic but then quickly asked if I needed financing because he didn’t want to go checking spark plugs to find out I had bad credit. I told him that he was being rude and I was just asking basic questions. Dave’s response before I hung up was “ you live 2 hours away maybe you should keep your business there”.

I would not recommend this dealer.

great deal on a great vechicle!!!!!

Just brought my second vechicle from Dave at Mass Auto Outlet. First one was a 1998 GMC Jimmy 14 years ago and it is still on the road with 421,000 miles!!! But I needed another vechicle so I went to see Dave and brought a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Great vechicle and very reasonable price. I love it. Dave has a fairly small dealership, so that means low overhead...hence low price. I live in Rhode Island and would reccomend Mass Auto Outlet to Anyone. Joe J. From Burrillville, RI

The real deal!

Dealt with owner, Dave Sr. on the phone and he was friendly and no pressure. Made arrangements to see a truck from the website the next day. We ended up getting a different truck than originally seen on the website. We pointed out that it needed 2 rear tires and rear brakes, and he agreed to take care of that. We struck a deal and he made sure the truck was ready in a couple of days. I would definitely recommend buying a vehicle from this dealer. Dave was very easy to talk to, up front and didn't waste our time!

New York

Well I posted a review before and I'm not seeing it in any of the reviews. But Dave Jr, was helping us out with the Jeep Commander Limated with the hemi ( black one ) We had a 4 hr.drive one way to go look at the Jeep so we asked for more photos and a video of the moter and the muffler and to check for the sunroof opens right and the seats work, peddles move like they should. After asking Dave Jr if the sunroof leaked ( Dave Jr Said NO ) the snow was because there was snow on the truck and so that's why it has snow ,ok it did snow the day before that's fine. The drivers seat had a rip, we called around to get a price to have it fixed or get a new cover that was in that saddle brown color made. ( no place could get that color and not sure if it could be fixed ) but the place we called gave us a ball park price. We also seen in photos the muffler had some rust and we would like that fixed or replaced. To Dave Jr that was not a problem. So my husband recapped to Dave Jr that we could come out Tuesday ( I took the day off work) and that we needed the seat fixed and the muffler fixed. Dave said the seat would get fixed and so would the muffler all by Tuesday because its cheaper for them to do it then pay us to have it fixed. Mass Auto was asking a lot for this jeep commander like 8,000 or better. I asked them also how I was going to get this truck home, they said drive it, slap your New York plates on it and drive I would not get stopped. After fishing around New York has rules about driving in New York with plates that don't belong on that jeep. I would of got tickets and fines and New York would have impounded the Jeep. After getting there to the dealer the Jeep was at a shop down the road getting the muffler fixed ( the other shop said it was ok didn't need to be fixed ) During this time Dave Sr was excited to have me get the paper work started , I explained I needed to see the Jeep first, yes yes he said. After the.truck got there it looked nice on the out side other then some dings and scrapes ( but it's used ) after opening the drivers door I look at the floor and there is moisture under the plastic they had down on the floor so I lifted it up and there was a hole under the plastic, along with about 1 inch of water on the rug. ( sick ) so I looked at the passenger side same thing with the water I looked at the cup holder and there was water in them just a little , So the sun roof did leake and dave jr said no it didnt ( MIND YOU THEY JUST DROVE THIS JEEP BACK FROM THE MUFFLER SHOP) and they didnt see this * what * I told my husband No I don't want this truck. We went back in to Dave Sr and we told him no thanks and what we had seen, (Dave Jr in his office at the time) Dave Sr ask Dave if he new about the water and he said no and acted dumb to the question then said them jeep commanders are known for sun roof leaked. Dave Sr didn't want hard feelings but really, I'm glad I didn't but this truck. I'm out a day of work, and tolls, because they didn't tell us everything about this truck. Any one with 1/2 a beanie will Stay away from this place. Stay away from this shop. There snakes

Turning frowns upside down! :)

My boyfriend and I had been looking for a reasonably priced SUV or truck for about a month, we ran into some real crap storms along the way. People in this industry are either liars looking for profit, or good, honest sales people. And the owner Dave is one of the good ones! We had spoken to his son Dave and one of the employees Sheldon the week prior to meeting him. Dave was cool, and Sheldon is a great guy. I can definitely see why he's a long time employee! While we hadn't found anything on our last visit on either lot that was screaming "I'm the one!", we stopped in a week and a half ago and got to meet the owner. I have to say some of the reviews I read are so inaccurate I wonder if they met the wrong person lol. Nothing condescending about this man. He's a straight shooter who has a mind for old school business, and we liked him instantly. Btw, the one on here that's so clueless he/she went looking for a 4 cyclinder Jeep....(You should let someone else make the decisions on your life) I'm happy to say that day, as we were speaking to him, OUR vehicle pulled up outfront straight from the auction. The stars aligned or whatever ha ha. Looking at it we KNEW, but took it for the test drive and that was it. We made a deal right then and there, and let me be clear. He didn't make a deal with my boyfriend, the man. He made a deal with us, the couple. No "condescending" male attitude with me! We had a couple small things that needed to be fixed, and found another couple more >after< we bought it. And guess what? Dave has been there for us, fixed the issues, and made sure we were happy. I couldn't have asked for a better experience! And in a couple of months when we go to look for our second vehicle, we will look NO further than Mass Auto Outlet :-) Thank you Dave! Jeep-Jeep!

Dave is very rude and condescending

You may get a good deal on a car there, but when it comes to follow up especially with Dave, he automatically goes on the defensive. He was very rude and condescending. Your best bet is to find another dealer.

Nissan Xterra

Going back and forth with Ryan about a 2002 Nissan Xterra for about a week, asked if he could hold it with my title of my vehicle, I go in the following week to test drive the 02 Xterra, pulling up to the dealership I noticed the 02 Xterra on the lift, went into the office met Dave the owner, never knew I was coming nor knew about the agreement Ryan and I made. Gave them another shot test drove a 04 Nissan Xterra, liked it, bought it, then found out the check engine light was shut off for 02 sensor, brought it back to get replaced, they replaced the wrong one, brought it back again fixed the right one and put a sticker on the Xterra without asking my permission. I bring it to the shop I've been getting my work done for several years, bad swaybar links, never did an oil change, never topped or changed any fluids, 4 all different wear patterns on the tires, bad wheel bearings,timing belt in need for replacement, and the oil pan had been quickly patched up with epoxy. Let's just say it has been an absolute money pit and never wish I have bought it. If you look at a vehicle here defiantly have your shop guy go with you to check out the vehicle.

I bought my 01 Jeep Grand Cherokee about a month ago. It failed inspection so I called Dave and he said to bring it in. He fixed the problem while i was at work so it didnt inconvenience me at all. When I dropped it off for the repair I was greeted by the mechanic who was very respectful and quick to help. Dave is a man of his word! I love my Jeep and I would highly recommend him to anyone

True Care for Customers

I bought a Jeep Grand Cherokee about a month ago. I dealt with two people - Dave and Tim. The dealership has a great selection of Jeeps and other four wheel drive vehicles. My Jeep had some problems that my own mechanic found, and failed inspection. By law, Dave (owner/operator) was only required to fix the causes of the failed inspection, but he fixed even more--everything on my mechanic's list. He truly showed care for my experience, wanting me to be happy with my purchase. He understood that my Jeep was one of the largest purchases of my life and did his best to make sure that it was a good experience. To be honest, I took my Jeep back to my mechanic after the dealership had worked on it, and my mechanic was impressed with their work and commitment to customer service excellence. Dave wasted no time in helping me. I would recommend this dealership...if you purchase and have any issues, call Dave, and he will take care of you just as he has taken care of me. Thank you.

Offended and Very disappointed.

My family and i travelled about an hr, about 50miles. We stopped in to see a silver/grey 2002 Envoy with 120,000 miles that was posted online. I call several days in advance and spoke to a kind and eager man by the name of Ryan. We talked several times and he seemed nice. When we last spoke(the day of our visit) he said that he needed to step out and to call Dave (his dad or something) and that he would be meeting with me. When we arrived this older guy came out with a not too pleased look on his face and addressed my mother with "...so you're the people from Springfield...?". He then had no idea what vehicle I was there to see and when I told him that it was a silver/grey Envoy (which they had 3 that fit the description and supposedly several more on another lot) I told him I couldn't remember the spec but it was posted for around $4000.00 and had about 120,000 miles and that I thought it was a 02-04. To which he rudely and in quite the condescending manner replied "..which one?...you didn't bring it(I'm guessing a copy) with you?...(pointing at a silver/grey Envoy) this one's silver right?..." He didn't know any of the information about the vehicles. Mileage? "I dunno it in a file." Does it have the 3rd row seat? "You don't know? You didn't look?" He didn't even tell us the doors were unlocked or anything so that we could look. And then he just stood there looking confused and pissed and all put out. Then he trudged back to the office. I guress to look for the "file" but by then i was so offended and getting pissed that i told my family to get back in the car. Just the tone of his voice and the attitude he was putting out was completely off putting and unprofessional. It was like he was trying to make me feel stupid and like he was wasting his time, and he had better things to do. Like he was too good for my business. As we were leaving he came tapping on the window saying "well when you come back have a print out or the specs or something...". I told him we would not be coming back. I can't believe that he's a representative of the dealership. I worked hard to save what little money i have left over after paying bills and everything else, and I 'm sure as xxxx not going to spend it at a place where they treat my like crap. With this brief encounter I find DAVE totally deficient in people skills and personality. I would not and will not recommend this dealership. Sorry Ryan you seemed like a good guy but I won't be back.

Extremely Satisfied!

I recently bought a jeep for my son at another dealership and had to fight for them to do the basics, what they were responsible for. Unfortunately, he was in an accident and we needed to search again. I dreaded having to go out there and fight for a car and worry if I was getting a good car for what I paid. We found a jeep at this dealership and I'm so glad. It's been a great experience! My son loves his jeep. He did have a couple of issues when we brought it home so I called the dealer. I talked to Dave and he said to bring it on in, he will fix it. He knew exactly what it was just by the description over the phone. I didn't have to fight for anything here, it was a nice change. He wants you to drive away happy with a safe, good running vehicle. He really wants his customers to have a good experience and be happy with their purchase. I've recommended this dealer to several of my family members and friends. I highly recommend this dealership to anyone taking the time to read my review.

Car for my Daughter

I recently bought a car for my daughter and i did let dave know that it was very important to me that she had a good experience with her first car from a dealership . I Picked up a 2007 Toyota Camry and after driving it for a day we noticed a couple small issues and one big one . Called Dave and he asked me to make a list and bring it in at anytime . He had the car for a couple days and when i got it back it was 100% fixed and done 100% correct . I get that some mechanics will half ass things just to get rid of you but that didn't happen here . I had mixed feelings on how this fix was going to end up and i am VERY pleased that they did a great job. I would and will go back for another car soon . I would like to thank you Dave and Crew for helping me teach my daughter there are good people in some businesses and will honor what they say from the beginning . Thank you Dave and Mechanics !!!!
