Great experience

I found this dealership through an online referral service when my old Subaru broke down. I highly recommend starting with Mary through the online sales. I walked in already knowing they had several cars I wanted to see that were in stock. The experience was excellent both before and after the sale. I was able to get a car I love in one day of car shopping without the high pressure sales pitch I am used to from other dealers. Everyone I worked with treated me like their most important customer.

Slow Start Great Finish

After taking my 'first Impreza' home, I noticed a few exterior flaws. Chris Montelongo understood my concerns and agreed to an exchange. New car was waiting when I returned. No Problem! Chris said he didn't want me to be unhappy. Never thought it would end so well. I'm sure he had to go far out of his way to make it so easy. Thinking of a new Subaru. Chris is the person to see.

Simply the BEST purchase experience!

We came in to check out the new Subaru Crosstrek's and Forester's to replace our ten-year-old Forester we bought new originally. Our sales rep, Susanna, was absolutely great to work with and we decided on a Crosstrek. Susanna and the rest of the sales team made us feel right at home like family and were informative and very helpful without pressuring us at all. Thank you for what was a FUN and productive sales process and we could not be happier with the dealership, its staff, and our new Crosstrek!! We traveled to this dealership past one about 5 miles from our home due to our past positive experiences here at Matt Slap and we were again rewarded with another stellar performance of folks in a tough business who really care about their store, its customers, and the fact that repeat business is a testimonial to how nice this dealership is in all respects!

No Pressure New Car Purchase

This was my 5th car purchased from Matt Slap. The experience was the best so far! Came in looking for a specific car, they didn't have the one I wanted on the primary lot, but they took the time to find exactly what I wanted. Our Salesperson, Mario, was outstanding! He was very personable and knowledgeable about the Subaru brand. Both my wife and I felt very well attended to by Mario who has a very low key, no pressure way to selling cars. He worked with Chris to get us the best price possible without asking us too many absurd questions. In the end, we got the car we wanted at a very fair price. I'll be back to Matt Slap to buy #6 in a few years!

Don't even deserve 1 star. TERRIBLE customer service!

Where to begin.. long story short. Bright my car in for some warranty work, was told I would hear back from them in 2 days. Never heard. Called several days after, and got the "well I don't know what's going on and the (service manager at the time) isn't here, but he will give you a call back". Of course never heard anything and then I repeated this process about 2 times. Finally got he work done. Fast forward 6 months, here I am again to have more warranty work done. This time after not hearing back for 2 weeks I called Subaru of America. Spoke to a really helpful woman, who was also unable to get ahold of any management member over he course of 3 days. Go figure? Well after this wonderful lady helped me get through all of this BS she sent me a service credit, that I will not use there unless for parts. Horrible communication and service manager has changed 3 times within 9 months. Sounds like someone higher up needs to be changed.. I literally cringe when I think about taking my car there.

I would not recommend this dealer.

Great sales associate

Susanna Smith was terrific, every step of the way. When I arrived at the dealership, it was raining hard. I didn't really expect a sales associate to come outside -- but she appeared as soon as I got out of my car. She listened to my list of "must haves" and made suggestions as to which vehicles would fit my needs. She had two models brought to the showroom for test drives so that I could compare them. She was extremely patient in answering my many questions -- and knew the answers to everything I asked. I was impressed. Everyone at Matt Slap Subaru was nice -- but Susanna was outstanding. I would certainly recommend her to friends and family who are interested in buying a Subaru.

Came in to possibly buy a new car

Matt took his time and we test drove 4 or 5 cars to guide me thru what I wanted. We found it. There was no high pressure to add this on or add that on.. Then Angelo did the paperwork and really explained fully every detail and Angelo's detailed knowledge of transmissions was extremely helpful. Then Debbie, the expert Dashboard guru was a lovely addition to the sales package. My last purchase at another dealership left me hanging as far as going over the technical working of the dashboard and in fact joked about me having to read the thick manual.

Trustworthy Servicing

I am a very suspicious and cautious man when it comes to dealing with car dealers. Sorry, but I have many years and many bad incidences to draw from. Matt Slap is not like the others. Today, they did right by me and my family and saw my point of view on a repair. They cut me a tremendous break and for that, I will always be grateful. They are my dealer for life from now, for any car purchases I will be making. I trust them very highly, indeed. Ryan Butler is a true advocate and looks to treat customers fairly.

Beware the Kidd

Love my salesman. Mr Kidd is just that ... a Kid! Loves to linger and lurk and talk trap not only about the salesman that we all can hear but also the customers and let's not forget ball playing time for the Kid! Totally unbecoming of a manager and especially the Subaru brand. We in 1985 or 2017? Love Sean if it was not for him I certainly would have purchased elsewhere. The dealer made some good changes over the years except now they need to change him and that phony laugh and angry outburst. If he is there than walk away come later on when it's just Sean or buy elsewhere. It's not dealers fault they hire bullies and liars unless they continue to enable it!!

Walked on the lot with interest in the Crosstrek, Mario was very informative with additional information on the Crosstrek. He was very descriptive with the features of the car & model versus other cars I was interested in. When it came to paperwork, he was informative & worked to get me the best deal on the car. We bought an Outback and a few days later stopped by unannounced to get an update on all the bells and whistles. We were to see the gal who was assigned to that for us but she wasn't in that evening. Laura quickly said she'd show us how to operate all the car's systems and so she climbed in the back seat and spent several minutes teaching the A to Z of everything. She was fantastic! We cannot give her enough praise:) A real keeper!

Bought a new car

Laura was VERY through without being pushy or patronizing (I'm definitely NOT a car person...). Her demeanor was welcoming, non-judgmental (I'm on a tight budget (!) and she was very gay-friendly -something you don't always encounter at car dealerships) and just casual/humorous enough that she made me feel as if I was buying a car from a friend vs a salesperson. Having worked in customer service myself, I know when I'm being pressured or if a game's in play, granted there's always some feeling of that in sales but really I never felt either with Laura. She felt sincere and straightforward and let me process at my own speed -never felt an attitude that I was wasting her time or that I was being indecisive. She also has a very through knowledge of the entire Subaru line, which I think is important for a salesperson (if anyone should know about the product they're selling it should be the salesperson) and made alternative suggestions according to my budget -a few I hadn't even thought of. She makes herself very available at the time of and post-sale -another aspect of customer service that feels very personalized and inclusive. As much time and research as I try to take when making a major purchase, I really prefer a quick and to-the-point buying experience (i.e. I usually [think I] know what I want before I go to the store) and once Laura realized that she was happy to "switch speeds" and accommodate me there too. That kind of flexibility and ability to understand (and remember) what a customer wants and how they approach a purchase is to me another mark of great customer service. Would I go back to her? Yes. Would I send friends and family to her? Definitely! Thank you Laura for making a potentially difficult decision simple, pleasant and to the point.

Great service, great pricing, and great people. Laura was full of information about all of the vehicles, trim levels, safety features, and options, and especially the model we were testing and eventually purchased. There was little pressure to purchase beyond our means. This was continued with the finance support of Angelo, as well. In addition, the support staff were friendly. An overall positive experience.

Great customer service from Laura

I've met with many dealership salespeople over the years and Laura has been one of the best I've worked with. She's always smiling with an upbeat attitude, patient, professional, and remembered all the little details like my general work schedule, hobbies, and requirements for cars. I purchased an 04 outback llbean from her first after asking her to look for either a clean forester or outback h6. A year later I wanted a new car with good gas mileage and a manual transmission so I asked her about a new crosstrek. Initially she told me they don't do extended test drives until the numbers are worked out but on the first test drive we went through white clay and onto 95. She remembered that I like to go out to the mountains for hikes and climbs and wanted me to drive where I would take the car. Unlike most dealership salespeople she actually cared about my long term satisfaction with the car. After that I asked to test drive a forester but didn't need an extended test and she was more than happy to get the keys for me. In the end I parked the forester, test drove the crosstrek one more time and then went inside to run all the numbers. Buying my Subarus from Laura were great experiences. She was very accommodating and surprised me several times with what she remembered about my preferences and lifestyle. If you're going to mattslap I highly recommend Laura.
