Excellent Service provided by Zackery Faley

Eventhough my last repair was under warranty and cost me nothing. My husband and I regularly get both of our cars-a 2006 C350 and a 2011 S550 serviced here. I have been coming since 2006. My service advisor now is, Zackery Faley (never had a bad adviser). He is always friendly and professional and extremely knowleageable. He keeps me informed of the work that needs to be done, the projected costs and when the car will be ready. Whether its's scheduled maintenance or an unscheduled issue, Zackery lets me know what to expect. The work is done right the first time and if any problems come up relating to the work, they are immediately taken care of with no questions asked. Zackery always try to get me the best service price with discounts or promotions. I can't think of anything else that can be done to improve this service experience.

If you want great service from a Mercedes Benz garage - you have to meet service adviser Xavier Martinez at Mercedes Benz Alexandria VA ! Xavier Martinez is a true professional, very responsive, pays attention to details and places high importance on keeping you updated on progress/status and options for you. Xavier Martinez is a top class service adviser backed up by a very good dealership. I have enjoyed this great service for the last 3 years. Working with Maliki Sallieu has also been an excellent experience with his ability to work quickly through opportunities, always out the customer first and give his service adviser team great support to make customers very happy and come back again and again ! The service advisor was friendly and knowledgeable. I’ve been at other dealerships where you felt like another ticket but at the MB of Alexandria this was not the case. The advisor was personable and made me feel like a welcome client. I plan to go back and would recommend Mercedes of Alexandria to my friends and associates.

Front Desk Service Attendant (Austin) was not knowledgable

I was at your shop 2 Saturdays ago to have my 2012 C250 checked for a 'sluggish starting' problem. I told the front desk service attendant (I believe his name was Austin) that the vehicle would probably need a new battery because it failed to start a few days prior. Somehow (and I'm just reflecting backwards at the moment) he must have immediately 'assumed' the battery issue had something to do with the 'sluggish starting' problem. So as we get started, Austin gets into my vehicle, starts up the engine, and listens to the sluggish starting sound. He then proceeded to write up a service ticket for a diagnostic check. One hour later he returns to convey to me that the battery was in fact bad and if I agree to have the battery replaced it would correct the sluggish sound. I said that would be great, and he then proceeded with having the battery replaced. After another one hour wait he returns with a puzzled expression on his face to convey that the battery replacement was completed, however there was now a 'new sound' coming from my engine. Well naturally I soon became very concerned and frankly upset at this development, because I was led to believe that the battery alone was simply bad. He further said that my vehicle was 'elsewhere' at the time and therefore he could not (at that precise moment) check on this 'new sound' that was coming from my engine. Eventually the vehicle was returned to the Pickett Street location (30 minutes later) and when Austin started the engine, to my absolute amazement it turned out to be the exact same problem that I shared with him from the very onset. Meaning I was mistakenly led to believe that a battery replacement would correct the sluggish starting problem. So Austin agreed to 'recheck' the vehicle again (and I'm not sure if a diagnostic test was used for a second time because I wasn't billed for a second diagnostic check).but after another half hour wait, he then returns to convey to me that my timing belt tensioner was bad. When I inquired about how much would it cost to repair the timing belt tensioner, without certainty he replied that said it would probably run about $5,000.00. Right away I became skeptical that repairing a timing belt tensioner would cost that much money, but Austin said that he could provide with an actual cost estimate. Having a lost trust in Austin, I decided not to have him confirm the timing belt tensioner repair estimate. I really felt that he had already wasted 3 hours of my time for something that should have been diagnosed prior to (or at least during) the actual battery replacement. Yes as I was billed, Austin did take off a few dollars for the extended wait time, but overall it was a very unpleasant visit. Cost aside, I was just truly amazed that the timing belt tensioner wasn't diagnosed from the very beginning. Meaning Austin did not correctly or reasonably articulate what the problem 'may have been' on the service ticket after he initially listened to the sound of my engine. Basically Austin had no business listening to my engine at all - especially if he's not trained to provide the actual service technicians with an 'educated assessment' of what the problem could potentially be. Using what was written on the service ticket, it appears that technicians solely relied and trusted on the information Austin provided them.. Meaning the service technicians themselves were also fooled into thinking that all I needed was a battery replacement. Now I'm sure Austin intended on helping me with my car, but he demonstrated 'zero knowledge' on how to accurately diagnose a Mercedes Benz repair issue. The moment he sat inside my vehicle and listened to my engine...I was certain that he was a genuine Mercedes Benz service technician. Not at all the case. Disappointed...Mr. Terry Buggs

Bait and Switch

I was discussing a new lease by email with a salesperson and I had sent a counter offer. The salesperson responded "Okay, what day should I expect you?". Which to any normal person would suggest he was agreeing to the counter terms. Just to make sure, I asked him to confirm the terms and what information he needed from me before I come into the dealership. He responded that I should get insurance, send a copy of my drivers license and apply for credit through their website and ignored the part about confirming the numbers that we agreed too. So I followed up again asking for him to confirm the numbers and he replied that my counter offer was unreasonable and he couldn't do it. I then sent the email chain to the General Manager asking if he trained his employees to sell this way and he replied that he didn't see anything wrong with the way it was handled. So the GM and Salesperson admitted that they thought it was ethical to encourage a customer to get insurance and get a hard credit inquiry based on a misleading quote, with the hope that when the customer gets to the dealership and the numbers were worse than I expected, I would be forced to go through with the deal anyway. And it seems that this is their common business practice.

I would not recommend this dealer.

Worth the Wait

The overall customer service at the Alexandria location from the representatives, mechanics, down to the comfortable waiting area is outstanding. The only complain is not knowing they also deatail car.

Outstanding Customer Service provided by David

This was my first time taking my Mercedes to Mercedes Benz of Alexandria. Recently moved here from Dallas and needed service. I was met by David Getachew and he immediately addressed the issue I was having with the brakes on my car. David is a true professional and he treated me as a valued customer. He quickly made me feel at ease and he brought me to the lounge area where I had coffee and water. He introduced me to the mechanic who was working on my car and we discussed the issue and it was resolved very quickly. I was very impressed with David's outstanding customer service skills and attention to detail. Because of the way he treated me as a valued customer, I came back a few weeks later and traded in my old Mercedes and upgraded to a new Mercedes. Looking forward to working with David again. I highly recommend David and I hope the other advisors are as good.

The Service Representatives Are Absolutely Awesome!

I had a bent rim which was causing air to leak from one of my tires. I made an appointment, dropped my car off and had a loaner within minutes! I was kept up to date with what was going on with my vehicle by text and email. I also was able to pay for my service using my phone - so convenient. Cesar was always helpful and answered any and all questions I had. I would definitely recommend getting your cars serviced here.

Excellent sales & customer service

My father was a used car salesman, so I know a good salesman when I see one. Moreover, having purchased numerous Mercedes over the years in the DC Metro area, I have experienced the hard sell, the soft sell, the tricky salesman and the post-sale arguments. With those experiences, I can state without hesitation that George Jermstad at Mercedes-Benz of Alexandria was superb both at the time of sale and also regarding my rather needy post-sales questions and requests during the following months. After trying more than one car on a variety of surfaces and speeds, all at a leisurely pace throughout a full afternoon, I ended the day by purchasing a far nicer car than I had come to see, and we agreed on a price equal to that of the lower quality vehicle. More importantly, I trusted George's suggestions because they were not focused on the first and fastest sale nor did I feel that he was rushing me or giving me the hard sell. George was and remains a gentleman which is a smart and pleasant way to do business. Thank you!
