Dishonest Service Dep't

Stay away! Cracked my dash while replacing airbag on recall and have denied all responsibility, said I brought it in cracked, basically called me liar. I even signed a waiver before they touched my vehicle listing all existing damage, there was no existing crack.

I would not recommend this dealer.

Overcharge rip-off dealer

Service dept horrible. Quote one price on the internet, jack it up when you come in for service. Then they dont do most of what they overcharged me for. When I called the service manager he told me it was "against the law" to do what I asked (rotate my tires) so I checked with the Nevada DMV, no such law. I call the service manager back and call him out on his lie. Then he tells me it is against General Motors policy. So I contact General Motors......no such policy. I would hope the last thing a car dealership would do is lie to a customer, but at Hohl Chev. thats the first place they go. I might be naive and expected honest service. Dont bother trying to get a hold of the General Manager, he wont return your calls. Why would he? He knows your going to complain about his lying staff, he doesnt want to deal with that. ............it only cost me $66 to find out this is not a good place to go....there are worse "life lessons"

Horrible

I went in with a coupon for a $60 oil change with a multi point inspection as well as a few recalls, when they called to tell me my vehicle was ready I even asked how much it was going to be and they said “About 68 bucks.” When I went to pick it up they charged me $86 and didn’t even mention how the multi inspection went giving me the assumption that they didn’t even do it.

I would not recommend this dealer.

Old fashion horrible customer service

Bought a new 2017 GMC contractors truck. Over $62K. Thought that would buy me a little service. WRONG!! It has a potential coolant leak... idiot light keeps coming on. The DureMax upgrade was $10K. Call me paranoid. Could NOT get Chuck to do a diagnostic because they are “so short handed”!! I told him this truck is out of town on jobs during the week. After 2 failed weekends, he gave the same mantra. This time I stated this was a Michael Hohl problem not a ‘me’ problem and I wanted to have the GM call me on Monday please. Still waiting for that phone call... 😡 Also, I got FLOODED with emails after the sale. The unsubscribe didn’t work. I called the dealership and they said it was a GM issue. Terry in sales was very good. Talked to me like I had some intelligence and a professional. Unfortunately the sale is a one time event and service is continual. With that in mind, NEVER EVER buy from this dealership!! Service after the sale is 90% of the transaction. Even if they’re lower on the sale price you will end up paying more when they won’t cover any warranties!!!

Quality Service - Preventative and Corrective Maintenance

For several years I have brought three pickups I own into Michael Hohls service department. I make my appointments with Ed Addeo who is always courteous and understanding of scheduled and corrective maintenance needed on each pickup I have serviced at this dealer. If the mechanic finds a developing problem I am unaware of, Ed shows me what work needs to be done and explains in detail the how the problem will be corrected, how long the repair will take and what the final cost will be. He always meets his estimated costs and schedules.

I would recommend this dealer.

Vehicle Damage

I would give it a ZERO if it was an option. I took our 2014 Chevy SS in for recall work and an oil change. The car has 6000 miles, garaged winters and has never been driven in the rain. I asked them to please take care of it and was told that they would park it out by itself. Later that day after being told that they had to order a part, I swung by to see it surrounded by cars and decided to bring it home until the part came in.. When they pulled the car around to pick up they ran it over a curb scraping the underneath clear bra that I had put on. After bringing to their attention several days later the service manager claimed the damage was old and not caused by them. I take immaculate care of this collector vehicle. I detail it weekly. The damage was not there when I took it in and was there after it being in their neglectful care. I asked to speak to the general manager who obviously had been informed by his service manager of my claims. After a brief discussion with him he asked me to leave and that I was never welcome back at their dealership, ever. I told the service manager and the general manager I was going to write negative reviews and take them to small claims court. I picked up the paperwork for the court action this week and will file the action next week. They need to be held responsible for their lack of care and outright calling me a liar. Over my years I have owned 22 GM vehicles. I am a fair person and have never been treated like this by a dealership. All should be aware of their improper business practices. Customers have other choices in this area for their GM needs and I strongly suggest they choose those other options.

Great service...especially Service Advisor Ed Addeo. He is very thorough, professional and considerate. All my vehicles are service by Ed and have been since Michael Hohl first opened in Carson City. Not so great sales...Last winter I was in the market for a new Accadia...I talked with sales staff and had the feeling they felt my needs were not very important. I bought a 2017 Acadia Limited from another dealer.

Awful Service Department

Purchased a 2010 Silverado from them and always took it to them for service. Purchased the extended warranty as well. When my check engine light came on the lazy service adviser, Mark Hildebrand dismissed any consideration of the warranty and they tried to charge me $300 for a gas cap! When I complained they threatened to call the Sheriff. Had to complain to the DMV Enforcement division that got me a refund. Accordingly I purchased my next vehicle from Dave Smith in Idaho.

Searching for used 2017, got new instead

I stopped to look at a used Traverse. I had seen a used one at another dealer. Susie had only been on the job for a couple of days. We took a test drive and loved the vehicle. She took me to the sales manager whom I had dealt with when a purchased a Terrain in 2013. He told me about incentives on a new Traverse, which I purchased for less than the one down the street with 20K miles on it. This is the ninth vehicle I have bought from this dealership. Always the best attitude and price..

Yonathan was awesome to work with when I decided to purchase a Corvette. I tried the other dealer in Reno and of course to no avail.. Michael Hohl gave me the deal I was looking for with no pressure! Alex Hernandez was prompt, courteous and knowledgeable in assisting me to trade in my 2012 Enclave with almost 100,000 miles for a new 2017 Enclave with the features I wanted. The transaction was efficient and trouble free. Alex personally traveled 26 miles to my house to pick up title to my trade in and check for the balance of the transaction.

Everyone was very nice and helpful, from the salesman, manager, service, and accounting. I got to test drive a camaro and decided to order the car the way i wanted it. The order was placed promptly and the car was delivered in about 6 weeks. I just recently returned from vacation in California. I got 30 MPG on a 2200 mile trip! Great car.

Never again

Recently my husband and I bought our daughter a car at Michael Holhs...the transmission went out 2 months after the purchase. The GM refused to help with the cost of a GMC transmission...instead we had to pay the deductible for a USED OFF BRAND! When the GM was asked to help with the cost of a GMC transmission...he stated, absolutely not, they can get what the warranty will give them. On 03/03/2017, We brought our new 2016 GMC 3500 truck in for an issue it was having. The Service Department changed the oil in our truck without our permission...the bigger problem is, after checking the oil before leaving on a trip...we come to find out...the oil was never changed as stated on the paperwork...the oil is black as can be. I will 'NEVER' buy another vehicle or have service completed at make Michael Holhs and we will spread the word how we have been treated after buying three vehicles in less than two years from this place.

I would not recommend this dealer.

Don't ever go here for service

These people make me sick left several messages and no call back !! My son took my car on vacation and in Carlson my transmission said 11 percent life. He stopped and had them take care of this. They charged him a ton of money. Talked him into buying 3 tires not 2 not 4 but two. He made it to Death Valley didn't even make it thru a tank of gas and the transmission started not wanting to work he was stick on Death Valley with only a little store and motel. So hot couldn't go outside. Me and my husband took a truck and trailer from van Buren Arkansas to there had to put the kids on a plane in Vegas and then we drove home. To it to the dealership here in van Buren they found my transmission fluid was burnt and over filled. They fixed the problem and Carlson city told them we was sol and they wasn't making good on anything. Good thing we choose to trailer it home or I would of had to put a new transmission in. We was put thousands of dollars because of them. Then get told they should only do tires in sets no odds! Never take your car here. I have the transmission fluid that was taken out of my car if anyone needs to see the quality of work they do. To this day never even bothered to return a call.

The owner vetoed a fleet manager arranged courtesy delivery at the last minute causing me much grief because my car was already in transit from the factory. Apparently, he was angry that I didn't want to pay the substantial mark-up he is charging for new Corvettes. I purchased my car from another out-of-state Chevrolet dealer who sells Corvettes at MSRP, which saved me at least $10,000.
