Customer Concerns Don't Matter - Buyer Beware

Didn't realize that our previous business/experience with this dealer would be all for nothing. As a customer you have every right and expectation that you will be treated with courtesy and, foremost, RESPECT. After spending several visits to this dealership regarding our current lease at that time and failing to accomplish any type of result I filed a compliant with GM Corporation due to the constant misinformation I was provided by the dealer staff and GM Financial. In response to that compliant I received a phone from one of the managers at Mike Anderson who spent the entire time trying to browbeat me into (apparently) confessing that it was I, not his staff, who failed to negotiate another vehicle lease from his dealership. Whether he was simply angry that I finally went elsewhere for a another car and he lost a sale, or he was just trying impress the staff who were in the room with him at the conference call he placed with me. I apologize to the attending staff who had to sit through that ridiculous wasted time. I had a very frustrating and extremely difficult time trying a get a word in between his constant lecturing. This manager seemed unwilling to accept the facts that his staff dropped the ball and lost a sale and, most importantly, also lost any of my family and friends future business. I believe the phrase is "The customer is ALWAYS right …" Don't make the mistake that we did, We have no issues with the Chevy we had leased, but there are plenty of other dealers in this area to buy or lease one from and I'm quite sure they will appreciate and respect you and your business.

Price on Paper Magically Disappeared. SCAMMED AND SCREWED

Do Not Do what happened to me! A Brand New 2018 Equinox retails for 23k - 26k. I was told The 2015 SUV I was buying was $ 17,900. Granted it's loaded. He wrote down the price on paper and I'm about to go Dumpster diving. They actually sold it to me for the price of a Brand New Equinox that they got on trade. I was told the price. Saleman wrote it down. The paper some how disappeared. BOOOM im stuck bent over. THEY REALLLY REALLLY SCREWED ME HARDCORE. DONT GO HERE DONT DO IT. I haveto figure this out contacting my lawyer ASAP

I do not have words to explain how amazingly helpful and friendly the team at Mike Anderson Chevy is. They are fast, effective, and down to the point!! Couldn’t give them a higher rating if I tried!! 10/10 would recommend. Jessica and Robby are the best!

After running my credit they tell me they sold the car

I found the car through cars.com I called them up been working on the phone with them for almost a week after they pull my credit report and they send my financial information to the bank and they pull my credit multiple times minutes later they come back to me and they say sorry we just sold the car we didn’t know that the car was sold !! You should make sure that the car is sold before running my credit and take off points of my credit report and all they can say sorry we apologize I do not recommend this dealership

Phenomenal service!!

My situation made leasing a vehicle a bit challenging but Johnathan Devine and Tom Dow made it happen! I could not be more satisfied with the vehicle they were able to get me into and the service they provided. I am 100% sure that I could not have gotten a better deal anywhere else. Without any reservations, I would recommend them and the dealership to anyone in the market for a new car!!

While shopping online I noticed that this dealer had 2 Impala Ss which is what I was looking for.But for for whatever reason I clicked on reviews. After reading what seemed to be mostly negative reviews I decided that I wouldn't waste my time driving there. I can understand some bad reviews but the completely negative tone of the majority of the reviews completely made up my mind I wouldn't go there under any condition.

Deceitful

Just a bad overall experience from scheduling the appointment, showing up and being told they could not honor the appointment, to work that had to be done twice as it wasn't right the first time, and finally just plain lied about the filter they were using. I brought the car in for a front end alignment, but during the work I was told the cabin air filter needed to be changed. I let the Service Advisor know that I wanted the charcoal air filter and that it was grey, and she agreed that is the filter they used so I approved the new filter. When I got home I found the filter was instead a white hepa filter. I had to take the car back anyway as the front end was worse now than it was before I took it in. Mind you I took it in because I just put new tires on the car, not because it was driving badly. It drove fine until I brought it in. When I challenged the Service Advisor on the charcoal filter, I was given an article stating hepa filters were better than charcoal, but no apology for the lie, no offer to replace it with the filter I wanted. Just "too bad because we know better". At this point I don't care whether they are right or wrong, the fact is it is my car, and if I want a charcoal filter in it, that is what should be in it. I don't like the fact that Lisa just agreed with me so she could move on and then go and put whatever filter they wanted in it. It makes you wonder what other customers are being told vs what is actually being done to the vehicle.

Disappointed

A year and a half ago, I purchased my first vehicle. At the time, I thought it was a great experience. However, I ended up spending a lot of money on repairs that should not have been needed. The dealership called me recently, claiming that someone was interested in purchasing my vehicle. Unfortunately, it turned out that the dealership actually wanted me to trade my vehicle in for a new one; apparently there was no real "interested buyer" and the dealership was not willing to offer much of anything at all for my vehicle (only 10-17% of what I had purchased it for-- and after less than a year and a half!) I don't like to write negative reviews, but I had originally given this dealership a raving all five-star review and do not have the option of deleting it. Therefore, I am updating it to better reflect my current perspective. I am disappointed in many ways, one of which being that I really had wanted to like this dealership and do business with them again. Sadly, I do not feel that I could ever trust them again.

I always have a great experience when I visit the dealership. The customer is great all of the time from the greeter to the sales person.

Making s*** happen

These guys don't mess around. I called got a price over the phone I live in Joliet Il 54 miles away. Price was respected when I got there no games were played. Big Rob and Mike were great. I would recommend taking the drive it's not even that far just to not deal with game playing dealers. I didn't even finance threw them and they still treated me great. And we got the truck delivered we forgot some minor last minute paperwork and they came and brought it to my house!!!!!!! It was our fault.

Profit over People

I am doing this review based upon my experiences with Mike Anderson Chevrolet in Merrillville in 2014. I went to a different dealer for a recent vehicle purchase and what a refreshing change. My family had bought 4 vehicles from Mie Anderson Chevrolet over the course of 2 years. We thought they were pretty decent overall but that all changed. Not sure if there were new floor managers or what, but they completely low-balled me on a trade in that was an offer at least 25% off fair market price for a fairly new low mileage Camaro I purchased from them roughly a year earlier. I got better trade in from a small local dealer without buying a vehicle from them. Our local dealer said how embarrassingly low the offer they gave me was and it was surprising. In short, being greedy and not following through on promises drove me away and I don't miss them at all. I'm sure there are worse places out there, but this place deserves 2 stars (Fair) because it is your typical dealership where large profits are put over regular people instead of being fair. Jonathan Divine was the guy we used and he does not deserve all the blame... he was quite helpful in the past. For whatever reason he didn't or could not go to bat for us when we were there trying to make a new purchase and trade in my vehicle. Bottom line- price gouging your own loyal customers on trade-in's is a poor business practice and I hope they learn from their mistake. I moved on to a better, more reliable dealership in Illinois. The distance isn't convenience but their customer satisfaction and loyalty is. They lost my entire family and friends' business.

The Only Dealer For Us!!

We choose Mike Anderson Chevrolet time & time again. We choose them exclusively due to the dynamite team they have in place. We always check in with Lawrence Phillips aka (LP). Tuesday my husband and I went to speak to him because we were "thinking" about purchasing a new vehicle. We had some concerns about the equity in our current vehicle. Well, as I write this (Thursday) we are now in possession of a 2017 Impala LT with just about every bell and whistle offered on the new models. We are not in sticker shock, he went above and beyond helping us liquidate the previous vehicle. We walked away feeling like we made a good fiscal decision for our family. We never feel pressured, He always takes his time and explains the different financing/leasing options so that we can make an informed decision. LP is professional, personable, and his knowledge is beyond reproach. We had the pleasure of dealing with Leighton Johnson (our salesman) and I can say that it was an absolutely positive experience.. He took his time and went through every option, button, gadget etc. He walked me through the On-Star set-up with the rep. We literally sat in the lot for over an hour as he went through everything in this new model. Going forward we now have (2) " Go To Guys" . When a company treats their people well it shows because they shine and they are present year after year. This is very important to us as well. This speaks volumes about the integrity of the organization and makes us feel like we will be treated with the same appreciation. A Dealer to Trust

My wife and I were looking to buy a truck and we were torn between a Chevy or a Ford. When we came to Mike Anderson we were greeted like family. We initially were not planning on getting a truck that night, but that feeling changed when we interacted with Eric Estrada and Rob Henderson. Both of these gentlemen took care of us in a professional manner. They did not pressure us in any way to buy a truck. Rob Henderson and Eric Estrada are two gentlemen that care about their customers. Rob's humor and genuine kindness for you as a human is something that I truly respect. Eric Estrada is a family man that is willing to work with you and meet your needs. Our buying experience went extremely fast and everyone involved was very courteous and professional. My wife and I have bought a few cars and Mike Anderson is a top rated dealer that is not pushy and cares a substantial amount of maintaining five star quality service. Thank you again Mike Anderson Chevrolet and Rob Henderson and Eric Estrada. You guys made our day and experience one we will never forget.

Irresponsible credit search practices

Recently my Aunt, returned to Mike Anderson Chevrolet in Merrillville, after getting a call from 'her' sales person stating that she could get a good rate on a 2016 Chevrolet. My Aunt really was interested in a lease, but if a new car price (monthly payment) was within her price she would consider buying a new car. After she could not get either a 2016 new or lease because of her credit, she accepted her fate and was determined to stay with what she had (for the time being). Then while checking her credit score for herself, she finds out that Mike Anderson has made not one (1), two (2) or three (3), the have made NINE (9) consecutive credit inquiries. This does not make in rational sense!!! All in the name of a sale!?!?!? All in the name of customer satisfaction. Personally, I think that those who orchestrated this credit assassination, were only trying to meet their quota and secure their quarterly or monthly bonus. Where was the ethics? When asked Mike Anderson Chevrolet for a letter that might help restore her credit rating, these NINE (9) inquiries were justified by saying she signed a consent for them to make credit inquiries. Even she did sign a consent to make credit inquiries, when and where does common cents or even business ethics come into play. And the cherry on top of this mess, is now none of the contact persons will even take or return her call. Now, my Aunt get a loan with Mike Anderson, or any other dealership.
