say anything for the sale cricketts afterwards

By bobbyd on 7/1/2017 at 5:51 PM. Helped by Zach, a plethora of used car sales managers..

Bought a used vehicle from them. The service manager had the extra key fob. It would be mailed to me within the week. 2 weeks later no key fob. Everytime I call and ask to speak to the used car manager I get a different person. like 12 in the same week. Pathetic. All the promised followup phone calls never happen. When I bought the car one of the tires was low according to the sensor and asked them to check that out before I picked up the car. Wasn't done. Their response was because the tires took nitrogen not air and they did not have that on site. When negotiating they bashed every other dealership in the area. Claim some even took wrecked cars and washed the titles to make it look they were perfect cars. Even that one dealership was known to weld cards together and sell unsafe cars. PATHETIC with all the dealers go else where.

I would not recommend this dealer.

Epitome of slimeball dealership

By scootr68 on 4/27/2017 at 1:20 AM. Helped by So upset I cannot remember.

We were looking to trade in our immaculate condition 2009 Ford Edge with 44k miles for a 2012 Jeep Wrangler. Our Edge books at $10k+ and they offer $8k. I've never been more insulted in my 30+ years of buying from dealerships. Seriously, you have to have some big stones or think people are stupid to low ball like that. Needless to say I will make sure none of my family, friends or associates give you a dime of business. I'm still in disbelief over this.

I would not recommend this dealer.

Poor Service

By greg1 on 2/7/2017 at 11:17 PM. Helped by Patsy Santone.

In January of 2017 I bought two vehicles from this dealer, a 2017 Civic and a 2006 Accord for my daughter. In February, after being driven less than 1000 miles, the service light went on in my daughters car and the oil reading of 15% came on. Needless to say, I was not happy that the car needed an oil change after less than 1000 miles. I took the car in expecting an oil change and the service department refused. They said the car was given an oil change in November of 2016 and they "forgot" to reset the computer. I then said fine, I am still expecting the oil to be changed and they said no. The general manager, Patsy Santone, was NO help at all. He said it was a simple mistake by the service department, and he didn't sem to care that I had driven the car in to correct a mistake his service department made..

I would not recommend this dealer.

Great Experience

By Tim Schwan on 11/8/2016 at 3:00 PM. Helped by Vania Hogben and Team.

Hello, The entire experience was great. The entire time it felt like the approach was win/win. Either both of us win in the deal or their was no deal. Vania Hogben was especially helpful in the process. I was actually on my way, to buy a similar car, at the similar price, at another dealer. Then Vania called indicated they work out a deal in all our interests. Because I enjoyed working with her and felt she wanted the best outcome for all parties, I turned the car around and went with her. People want to work with real individuals with integrity and Vania shows this naturally. Thank you, Tim Schwan

First Experience Great Lakes Honda

By honda555 on 9/24/2016 at 11:42 PM. Helped by Darius Evans.

Very impressed with Honda dealership and professional staff. Picking up the CRV from the over flow lot I thought it was very dirty. It was hard to make a decision until I saw it clean. Darius said, no problem and washed the CRV himself. That’s SERVICE. Great Salesman.

I would recommend this dealer.

Very nice service and didnt feel pressured

By Chad and Barb on 9/6/2016 at 8:39 PM. Helped by Robert Logan.

I bought my first ever brand new car from Great Lakes Honda this past weekend. Overall, it was a very positive experience. Our salesman, Robert Logan was awesome. Very kind, patient and didn't pressure us at all. He was very attentive to our needs and took the time to answer all of our questions. Before I left, he gave me a full run down of the vehicle.

I would recommend this dealer.

The Best Buying Experience ever

By Amandeep_Makar on 8/17/2016 at 8:11 PM. Helped by Gavin, ED & Megan.

Just bought a 2016 Honda Pilot from them. They far exceeded my expectations. Considering that the dealership was 120 miles from me. They took care of everything from delivering my car home to taking the trade in car. Megan / Ed & Gavin were so helpful in getting me what I wanted at a great price. I have already recommended them to my family and friends. I am sure that I will buy my next Honda from them as well .... Highly recommended!!!!!!

I would recommend this dealer.

sleezy,liar, racest, pushy, dishonest, beware!

By GloriaofAkron on 8/17/2016 at 7:29 AM. Helped by Matt.

went to the dealership and looked around. A salesman came out to us. First thing he does is tries to convince us to lease, even though I said we wanted to buy. We haven't even picked out a car and he's pushing leasing. Next this guy wants to know where we are from. We're from Akron we say, which is the town the dealership is located. He seems surprised, and doesn't seem to get it, and then we realize he's assuming we are foreign just because we have dark hair, and a slight tan. First of all, even if we weren't pasty white, doesn't mean we aren't from the United States, secondly, regardless of our nationality, or race, or country of origin, its really none of his business. It is however, rude, disrespectful and raciest. So, this salesman gets over his shock of our answer being from the same town from which we are now standing, and actually asks us what we're interested in. Great I think, progress. We tell him we're looking for a car to send my student off to college, and are thinking a Civic or a CRV, used. He looks up what he has. Brings up $30k, cars. Not what we're looking for. Finally he understands and chooses 2 in the $11-12K range. He picks one particular says has been serviced and in great shape. Terrific we think, lets take it for a test drive. He goes off to get the keys and suggests we wonder toward his row of other used cars to see if anything interests us. While he's gone we see a Fit. which is the other Honda we have been considering. No price, but looks probably in our price range. We use our smart phones and look it up on their site, great in same price range. We then sign into our carfax report account. (for $54.99, a private person can get an unlimited amount of car fax reports for 60 days, which is perfect for those of us car shopping) No reported accidents, but we'll get back to that in a moment. The salesman returns and we mention we'd like to test that too. He suggest lets test the CRV first and leads us. to our surprise, its not with the rest of the cars, but in the back of the building, separate from most the other cars for sale. upon entering, we see its dirty. food debris is all over the front floor, lots of it, and the passenger front seat is sticky. He tells us it hasn't been detailed yet, contradicting his earlier statement that they just detailed and serviced this car. Oh, well I think, it can be cleaned up easy enough. off we go. Im not familiar with this part of town so I ask him to direct us to the highway, as I want to see how it handles at higher speeds. as soon as we get on the highway, Matt, the salesman, is ready to get off, I say I want to drive it more than a few feet, to see it get up there a little. as I accelerate, the steering wheel starts to shake, alot, at about 60 its almost hard to control the car, something is wrong I say and tell him what's going on, I state we need to get off the highway, its dangerous. He directs us off the exit, but then turning around directs us back despite the wobbling, shaking steering wheel to go back. Later, after we left the lot, I realized where we were, and could have taken the back road only 3 minutes more driving and gotten back there without going on the highway, but he chose to force me to drive it at high speed endangering all of us as it vibrated. During our drive, the salesman MATT, is whistling to himself. I suspect to cover the noises the car is making. Its not handling well. RPMs are very high with little acceleration. I'm trying to listen but he's making all kinds noises in the back seat. Back at the lot, he tells me that its probably doing that because it has snow tires! I said no, wheel bearing, and alignment are a problem. He's sticking to his tire story. I know he's lying. Its obvious something is wrong with the car. He assures me they serviced and drove the car on the highway and its in great shape. Liar! I think to myself. I tell him its definitely more than that and he should have the repair dept. check it so someone doesn't get hurt. He agrees, but suggests if they can take care of it would I still be interested. No I state, we'd like to see the other car. He tries to assure me they can take care of it, i"m not interested in a broken car that he claims just has snow tires. So he heads away to get the keys and suggests we meet him at the other car. We wait for him for a few minutes, I'm wondering what the deal is, what is taking so long. He returns with another guy, He's going to trade us off to him. Very unprofessional, to switch. But before he departs he tries to get me to commit to buying the Fit, and we haven't even touched it, no less test driven it. He is very pushy. I ask about trading my other car, no real answer, not showing interest in finding out if we can get a trade value. He's insisting on me committing to the car before we test drove if he can get the payment low at about $150. I'm not ready to commit to a car we haven't looked at yet or test drove, and tell him so. He's still talking pushy salesman double talk. Finally I have to be firm, as I am not committng to anything until we test drive the car. He again says just let me know if we have a deal today if I can get the payment where you need. I'm exasperated at his pushing. i tell him depends on if my kid likes the car, and how it runs. He asks how soon I'm ready to buy. I tell him between now and next 2 weeks. He's not happy and not afraid to show it, and repeats 2 weeks. Yes, depends on when we find the right car and we don't know if this is because we haven't driving it yet. After several minutes of his talking and pushing behavior he leaves us with the new guy to test drive. The car won't open with the key, wrong key turns out. Matt and he can't figure it out at first, then they are to go find the right key. we wait meanwhile still in the sprinkling rain we stood in while Matt hammered us about finances. Which we would have preferred to discuss at a desk inside if we ever got to that point. Away they go to look for the right key. Returning, I am told this car is saved for her neighbor that why the key won't work. I don't know who her is but that doesn't seem right. The car is listed for sale, its on the lot in the row with other for sale cars, and...they said it was available several minutes earlier. No depost down, just being held for her neighbor/friend, and we are told we can't buy it. What, this is crazy. But, we can buy something else. No I am finished I decide. On another note, while we were waiting for the lost key to be found, we had ample time to check out the car body. they had touched up several spots on the car with paint. this we know because someone sloppily driipped white car paint on the headlight, and back windshield. further no body repairs were reported or accidents, but besides this, the back bumber was replaced or repaired. This was obvious because it was a brighter and different shade of white, very noticible. the same exact shade as the drips. needing an entire bumber replacement or repair suggests an accident which the carfax report did not show. the saleman seemed mystified when I pointed it out. I dont know if this salesman always lies, or assumes we are clueless because we are women, or because he thinks we are foreigners, but the multitude of lies and pushy behavior was appalling and a very uncomfortable experience. I would never recommend going there to anyone unless they wanted a miserable experience. On the contrary we drove away and went to Ganley Honda across town and they were so accomodating and tremendous with us we purchased a terrific little Honda fit right away. The entire process over there was great from salesman, to Manager, to fiancing.

I would not recommend this dealer.

Wonderful service

By AGore on 6/28/2016 at 6:49 PM. Helped by Toriano Watkins.

Our third Honda purchase. By far, the best customer service received. The previous two were great service also, but this visit was even better. Everyone was professional, yet personable. Our salesman was superb. I would strongly recommend Toriano Watkins to everyone! Our college daughter started the purchase process, hoping to do a duo deal. Updating a 2014* and 2015 Honda Civic leases for 2016's. Toriano and his team made it happen! We drove away in two 2016 Honda Civics, an EX and a Touring. (*Surprised our youngest with a 2016 upgrade to her 2014. Toriano was great helping us keep our youngest in suspense!) Our oldest was not expecting her Touring, as it is the top of the EX line. She loves it! Honda definitely stepped their game up with the redesigned 2016's. More legroom; better styling; and still economical. A definitive WIN-WIN!! Merci Beaucoup Great Lakes Honda!

After all these years the Honda Civic is finally "sexy"...

By Tekavcic on 6/24/2016 at 9:24 PM. Helped by Marcus Morris.

My first Honda was a 1978 Accord that I picked up used in the early 80's. I later tried a Mazda 323, Mitsubishi Eclipse, Infiniti G20, and a Honda Passport before getting my first new Civic in 1999. Since that time all I've driven are Civics - 2002, 2005, 2008. 2010 and 2013. They've all been inexpensive, reliable and efficient. With each Honda has routinely provided useful upgrades while still maintaining a low price. With out a doubt they've always been fun to drive but, let's face it, they weren't exactly sexy. Well, the redesigned 2016 has changed all of that. Still reasonably priced and fun to drive, the Civic is now centerfold material. Kudos to the Honda engineering and design team. Bravo!

First service on my car

By Crella on 6/20/2016 at 3:32 AM. Helped by Didn't exactly catch his name, but he won an award in 2014. The award is at his desk..

This was my cars first oil change. The writer was so friendly! I asked him a question, that he did not have an exact answer for at the time. When I came back, he did some research for and got the answer for me. He went above and beyond for me. I drove all the way from Parma, for my oil change, and I would do it again! Thank you so much for being so nice and having my car washed and ready for when I came back.
