Jose is high energy and very helpful and Darrin is a great negotiator. I highly recommend this dealership! We had a positive negotiation and the price agreed upon was very good. That's why we bought our car! I recommend giving them a try for your business.

Worst worst worst!

By EBixlerWesterfield on 8/24/2017 at 3:54 PM. Helped by Zach.

This is the 2nd time my van has been in the shop with them (this time not by choice). The first time the didn't fix the hood of my car and tried to tell me they couldn't fix the actual problem of why it would run. They also told me it was the alternator (it wasn't. It was the computer). So then we took it somewhere else they found and fixed the problem. They then (unaware of our past experience with mike Steven vw) took it to them to get the new computer programmed. This morning our new and wonderful mechanic went to pick it up and it was in worse condition than they left it in!!! Here is the exact text that our mechanic (a family member btw) sent my husband this morning... "I went to pick it up and the vehicle wouldn't even run. They did something during the program. The vehicle would just crank but never fire. Which is obviously not how we dropped it off. So I am waiting on them to call us back to tell me what the xxxx they did to it." I LOVE Volkswagen cars. But I can whole heartedly say that I LOATH mike steven Volkswagen and I will never ever deal with any mike Steven brand dealership ever again. With that being said I wish they would stop asking my husband to trade in our van or his wrangler. And if I could give 0 stars I would.

I would not recommend this dealer.

Service after the sale isn't part of their business plan

By Future former customer on 7/6/2017 at 10:50 PM. Helped by Nathan.

Fuel pump died after only four years and 22,000 miles. They've had our 2013 Tiguan in their shop for over a week and we haven't been given even a ballpark estimate for when we'll get it back. They said they'll fix it after they get paid by the extended warranty (which they sold us). They haven't responded to our texts or e-mails -- we haven't heard a single thing from them since Friday, June 30. Maybe they'll correspond in a more timely manner with corporate or the Better Business Bureau.

misleading sales pitch. Buyer beware.

By Disappointedbuyer on 5/1/2017 at 4:36 AM. Helped by Jeff Gordon; Seth Graham; Orlando Monk. Very DISAPPOINTED in all. Mike Steven you should be ashamed of these people..

So disappointed in the sales tactics at this dealership. They tell you to buy today because they have a 7 Day Money Back Guarantee -No questions asked! The paperwork is handed to you to sign and explained verbally as to what you are signing but done so quickly that you aren't able to read it. Never was it mentioned that they will keep the dealership fee of $495. Mike Steven you should be ashamed of these employees.

Worst dealer experience

By MM1234 on 4/17/2017 at 3:56 AM. Helped by Mark Lally.

These people sold me a used Beetle that only had 96,000 miles. Should have had a lot of life in it. They refused to come down on price (even though it books at over 1500$ less than what I paid, ultimately I should've walked out) and that car has spent more time sitting in my driveway than it has being useful. The first time it broke down, it was still in 30 day warranty, however they expected me to pay to tow it 60 miles and then still pay 50/50 for parts and labor which would've cost twice as much as if I paid someone local to just order the parts and come fix it. No return phone calls after they told us their manager would be in touch to try to come to a resolution. They will not do anything to help make a situation right once you sign papers. Horrible business. Now I'm upside down in a car that won't stay running. They take zero responsibility for customer dissatisfaction and place all the blame on customer ignorance. I've read responses to reviews and I'm appalled at how they cheat people and blame them for the mechanical problems. I will never go back and I will highly discourage anyone from doing business with them.

I would not recommend this dealer.

Structural Frame Issues on "Certified" Pre-owned Vehicle

By dhud91 on 1/17/2017 at 5:11 PM. Helped by Nick F.

Please read my UPDATE #3 below after acknowledging the dealership's response. I bought my car back in July of 2015. This was my first car purchase ever and had done all of my research on the car I was looking at prior to heading to the dealership. I was able to get a reasonable price on the car given multiple back-and-forths amongst myself and the management at the dealership. First off, would like to say that our salesman, Nick, was a very kind salesman that wasn't too pushy and allowed me to make my own decision. He has called me several times since the purchase, following up on what I thought of the vehicle, how it was running, etc. This is good and all until they offer no help when things actually go wrong, which they did... Here are things that I have had replaced since buying the car: 1. Crack in the frame of the car, which resulted in water leaking from the windshield (windshield was replaced 2-3 times before it was noticed that the frame was compromised) 2. New battery - car died 2 weeks following the purchase (I shrugged this off since it was such a minor fix and is expected when purchasing a used car, although I would have assumed that a "good" and "respected" dealership would have replaced this prior to selling to a potential customer) 3. New tires (another problem I shrugged off, but maybe shouldn't have) As I have mentioned, this most recent problem (the windshield seal) was very poorly replaced in a prior windshield replacement and the clips were actually GLUED to the structure/frame of the car. I called Mike Steven's Volkswagen only to find out that "they couldn't have possibly known of this problem" and that I would have to eat the cost to replace. Moreover, it just so happens that the warranty that I purchased (the most expensive and comprehensive warranty, "Platinum") through them has not been "Platinum" whatsoever and has not covered any of these problems. So when deciding whether to purchase a car through Mike Steven's, or some other dealership in town, I hope that this review has made you think twice about (or confirmed) your decision. UPDATE: messages that I left for the general managers were not returned following the complaint about the windshield; funny how their attitude and professionalism has changed... UPDATE #2:The car I bought from Mike Steven's VW is a lemon. Fair and square. No matter what comments they have in response to my previous post, I wouldn't trust them. My humble opinion. Water is still leaking through the upper right hand corner of the windshield. The mechanics have tried just about everything and I have wasted over $1000 in the process. If you want to buy a used vehicle, I would suggest a dealership that would be willing to work with you after the purchase and would attempt to find a fair solution for both parties, rather than telling me "I wish there was a Better Business Bureau for our customers" straight from the mouth of the sales manager. If you want a sales manager that respects their customers, other places may be a better fit. A car purchase is not just a product, but an experience. My experience during the purchase (as one can imagine) was great; after the fact, it has been everything but. Most dealerships would be willing to hear out the customer, because they care about their customers. Mike Stevens only cares about their bottom line and that is quite apparent in my experience. UPDATE #3: The water that was leaking through the upper part of the windshield is resulting from frame damage to the car that had been there since I bought the car. The mechanics stated that in order to permanently fix the leak, they would need to re-weld the frame of the car. "Certified, pre-owned" apparently means nothing when they sell cars that have structural frame issues.

Honesty and Integrity at its best!

By Ssmith07 on 12/15/2016 at 4:11 PM. Helped by Donald Fox, Sheldon Sharp.

This is our second purchase from Steven Volkswagen, and by far the best experience we have had. Our salesperson, Don, had our car waiting and warmed up when we arrived for our appointment. During the test drive he explained all of the new features, as we were upgrading from a 2014 Passat to a 2017. He was very knowledgeable and answered every question thoroughly, and if he didn't know the answer, he found it for us. He made the process as seamless as possible. We were also exercising our buyback option on our 2014, and Don explained the entire process in terms that made sense to us. I would definitely recommend Don and Steven VW for your next new or used car purchase. You won't be disappointed!

Not the place for quality Maintenance but they are a nice

By none on 9/19/2016 at 3:29 PM. Helped by Service.

First let me say I love the two VW's I own but after my recent experience with both VW of America and two dealerships, Northtowne in Kansas City and Stevens in Wichita I will be turning in the Jetta this fall and I will be looking to dump the Touareg when the opportunity presents itself. A car is of little worth if the dealers cannot properly maintain it and VW does not recognize the critical nature of that relationship. After 95K my water pump failed in the Treg, not bad service from a water pump. It happen while in Wichita so I made an appointment for a replacement, if you haven't priced one yet the total is over 650$.. four times what an domestic car would cost. The part was not in stock anywhere in America and VW agreed to compensate partially for the inconvenience of having to leave my car in Wichita while Stevens acquired to part and replaced it. That new pump failed in two weeks then consecutively three more pump failures or leaks over the next few months. Kindly VW of America said they would replace them for free, are you kidding me? The representative at VW of America seriously thought they were doing me a favor by replacing a pump that had been installed improperly or failed 4 times. The one from Stevens leaked, the three that Northtowne installed all leaked, once they didn't tighten three of the 6 bolts and they fell out and the other times either the pumps failed or it was also improperly torqued. This last time it was installed be another dealer in south KC and the jury is still out. I currently have a def tank heater that has failed, another 650 dollar price tag. Just replaced the brakes for 950 dollars and on my visit to Stevens they told me I'd need brakes soon as there was only 5mm left on the pads, I said that can't be I juts replaced them less then 10k ago,,.. turns out after a recheck at another dealer I have 9mm and 100 mm so what happened there? gave that one to VW of America and along with he other service failures they had nothing to say.... You make your choice, for me VW has seen the last of my money.

Do not go to this dealer at all!!!!!

By The truth123 on 5/24/2016 at 10:46 PM. Helped by Finance-seth and salesmen-Leigh and andrew.

In the beginning it was a decent experience, it was when I started to do business with them things had turn to the worse. Long story short do not sign anything until your absolutely sure you want the vehicle. The finance dealer will not tell you everything on the contract, he will make you feel like your going to receive your money back 100% back grantee. DO NOT BELIEVE IT!!!!!! So do not sign anything nor put payment down until your absolutely sure you want that car.

Avoid - Spare yourself the grief and waste of time

By Roger in Wichita on 5/15/2016 at 4:43 AM. Helped by Mr fast talking little weasel.

Did you notice the somewhat reasonable price on the windshield? So do many other prospective car buyers. And what you will discover, like everyone else, is that price is not what the car sells for. Some brilliant person at this dealership came up with a very troublesome scheme to get people in the door with what appears to be an advertised price, then they try to get salesmen to convince customers into believing that the price on the window is dealer cost, and that the actual price is well above that, and for this "honest" disclosure, it is only fair that you should pay more. Absurd. I couldn't take it and got up and left. It's no wonder customers walk out of there all the time, and this has to be rough on sales people too. It is a wonder why this dealership would continue to operate in this fashion, creating the same scenario with customers over and over. I later found a newer car in better condition with fewer miles and saved over $2000 with little difficulty. I should be a buyer for this dealership if I can find cars so much cheaper than they presumably can. R in Wichita

Bait and switch pricing. Yuck.

By Inglewood on 4/15/2016 at 7:11 PM. Helped by Bill.

So...apparently a new attempt at transparency from this VW dealer. They list prices on autotrader and cars.com - then when you call them up, they tell you the prices are $3k higher...apparently, the price they list online is what they own the car for (their cost). I have bought 15 cars in my lifetime - all were found online and I have never encountered a situation where the price they list on autotrader is 3k less than what the actual price is. Bill told me that they planned on making at least 3k profit on the M3 I inquired on, and he would not negotiate on price whatsoever. Car was listed at 34,200 - they told me I could purchase for 36999 and nothing less. I guess they've never heard of bait and switch? Pretty shady if you ask me.

I would not recommend this dealer.
