Disgusted!

Disgusted! Mike, the GM of Napeton's Elgin Kia made us a deal that was too good to be true in order to keep us from looking at any other dealers in the area. They had sold me a car “temporarily” with promise of full refund once the car we ordered came in. They did not follow through... Due to their dishonesty and practice, we ended up spending over $5,000 more than what they had originally promised. It was either spend the money or get stuck driving a car that we did not want in the first place. Now they are selling our “used car” for more than what we had purchased it for in the first place. I’ve attached a picture of our “used car” listed for a thousand more than what we bought it for. These guys are criminals. Give your business to someone that’s honest.

Humiliating experience

Sign contact with oscar on 3/18 said we were approved for a 2016 kia just to be told to come back to resign a contract due to error on first to be told we were never approved that he never sent our papers to the bank to begin with! My review is on Google also it gets into great detail. Oscar does not know what hes doing nor does he even know how to explain things

Disappointed

Totally disappointed in the level of service I received. After being oversold on the "NVP" package and what it covers, it took over a month for the Service Center to respond to me. This was only after I placed multiple follow-up calls to check in with them. There's no accountability or respect for the customer. After this mess, I will be taking my car to a new dealer for future service.

NO respect

I arrived at the Kia dealer wanting to gather info on a car I want to buy. Salesman came right out and started the interrogations. Questions and more questions... so much so I couldn’t ask my questions. Any way I understood it’s his job. So, he asked if I wanted to test drive the car and I said no because I wanted to research the car before I fell in love with the car. He said no problem; can I give you my business card. I said sure. His Manager came out with him wanted to show the salesperson how it was done! He wanted to know why I wouldn’t take the car for a test drive… I replied I wanted to do research before I got emotionally involved with the car. He then said” What are you afraid of?” that was a womanizing thing to say… I felt attacked! I was so angry!!! How dare he say that to me!!! NO RESPECT! I will never buy a car there!!! I will go to a different dealer and will buy from a female salesperson!!!!

Terrible Experience with Service

Son bought a used car in Jan of 18. Feb the alternator stopped. Towing and time off to help $300. They said they would have it repaired in 4 days. Two weeks later my son and I went to pick it up. There were scratches in the front side were the mechanic's belt rubbed and they agreed. There was a great deal of grease on the floorboard and they agreed. They were going to hand it back to us as is - that didn't happen. Couple month later the car dies again and needs jumped from Lisle to St. Charles 15 times. Then towed back to Napleton. - cost another $300-400 lost income and towing. They said the car will be done 2-3 days later , then 5 days, then 10 days, now another 5 days. They have the part! I am sitting in their lobby in protest. Just put the xxxx thing in! The Service Manger John, Steve and Ramous (I think) all three don't care enough to support what they sell. Didn't want to do this , but I must. I have been waiting for the GM Steve Napleton for an hours now. At first they said I just missed him and he went to lunch - will be back in 20-30 mins. I drove up. It has now been 90 mins and no sight. They last lied again saying that he was in a meeting with NIssan - I hope they take his dealership away because the lost time misery index is OFF THE CHARTS! I agree with Ron's review and others, don't think I'm wrong. It will be a timely mistake. I agree with Chris B., Rob M., Ryan G., Allison B., R.W. and more now on Yelp. 1 STAR... One time is not a statistic but many times is - RUN!!!

Unreliable new car and unprofessional GM

In September, when my husband and I bought our new 2018 Kia Sportage from Napleton Kia Elgin we had a great experience. Well fast forward 6 months and we have had nothing but a nightmare. The brand new car we bought has more that 9 separate issues, some minor and some more concerning like it not starting properly. I have been patiently in and out of the dealership for weeks and have a claim filed with Kia corporate. Steve Napleton, the GM of this dealership has a lack of concern or respect for his loyal customers and doesn’t stand behind his product. When my husband and I first met with him about our options with getting rid of this new car that is broken, he tells us he has no control and pushes us off to somewhere else. Weeks continue and I have more problems and I continue to contact Steve. While they were very helpful in providing a loaner for me( which they should) their attitude and communication is horrendous. After picking my car up AGAIN the other day, I find that my invoice papers are incorrect. The dates are off and over 100 miles difference on their papers versus my odometer. They had put 230 miles on my car. Yes, I approved them driving it to test it, but 230 miles!! Ridiculous! I immediately called and talked to Steve Napleton to express my concern. Once again he tells me I just need to call back tomorrow to speak to service manager. NEVER an “I’m sorry this is so frustrating for you, I will look into this”. Nope! Just acts like this is no big deal. I explain to him that this is unacceptable and he needs to have more awareness of this things going on at HIS dealership. His response.. He tells me I am RUDE and disrespectful and that if I want to talk to him I need to treat him like a human and not like dirt on the bottomed of my shoe. That is a quote! WHAT!! At this point I am in tears and in SHOCK! First off, I’m not yelling or swearing and I have EVERY right as the consumer to be frustrated. Since when is the GM the victim? Not only did the car they sell me not work, but then they don’t help you and actually scold you for THEIR issues. This is the WORST customer service and absolutely the worst management I have ever dealt with in my life! I will NEVER go back here nor to any other Napleton. Beware! This dealership is full of disrespect, crooks!

STAY AWAY FROM THIS DEALER!!!! I purchase from them 2015 kia optima 40 K,still under warranty, the seller was Kostya "REDNECK" blind or stupid ,it's hard to find out. My bad. I was sing in the contract before thay finish their promise to fix what spoustu be done.The REDNECK wants me to leave my new purchase for 2 days,so thay can fix it,i say ok. I'm came back after a week,to pickup my car,even nobady call me!! Of course REDNECK say it's done where I'm show up.But it wasn't and i have to wait few more hours to be fixed Such a waist of time with this dealer and his seller men name KOSTYA!!! And most funny think from this short story is,what this REDNECK say to me about the second key for my Kia,of course AFER I'm sing in the paper, I'M NOT QUALIFY FOR SECOND KEY,BECAUSE THE CAR IT'S NOT CERTIFY,and I'm deny to pay for it. Buahaaa!!!!! Even menager didn't help!!!

Happy new Sportage Owner

Last weekend, I took my forte in for a recall repair, and while I waited first thing in the morning, I decided to browse the show room. I had been eyeing the NIRO and have always really liked the Sportage. Dave, who I met first thing answered my questions, and even allowed me to test drive both vehicles, which I am glad I did because it reassured me that I really wanted the Sportage. Dave took his time with me and was very patient and kind. Even though I did not buy that day, he and the staff worked to get me a rate and offer that fit my budget. It was great working with Dave and Steve. they were not pushy, which I appreciate. I LOVE MY SPORTAGE and appreciate the great car buying experience.

I purchased my 2018 KIA OPTIMA S this week from Napleton's Elgin Kia. Managers Steve Napleton, Mike Medina & Allen Nieves really took some time to welcome me to the dealership. I did not experience any of the typical games that are played at dealerships these days. My salesman Joshua Bodfield was professional and gave me a high level of experience and customer service. That is exactly what I needed. I wasn't planning on making this purchase and this dealership took their time to make this one of the easiest decisions for my wife and I to make. I will be recommending this dealership to my co-workers and family because that is how this place treats you.

B.S. Extended Warranty.......

Bought a car in April of 2017, brought it to my local mechanic said it needed to have some hoses replaced. Brought it back Kia of Elgin and not even a week later and they charged me for fixing it. Now it is November had my oil changed as I should and then my engine light came on and I brought it into a dealership near me. Said that I have 4 different leaks and my extended warranty that I purchased with the car does not cover anything. I should have returned the car within that 1st week! I would not recommend purchasing any used cars from Napleton kiya elder him

Be on ur toes

Purchased a sorento 2014 last year -aug (2016) I complained about a front end noise twice to the service dept. they could not hear or find anything wrong(go figure) the 2nd time I was in, I asked the service manager," what happens if something happens when I don't have my warranty anymore n something happens with what I have been complaining about, " he said he would have to go to upper management & get it approved. So I wasn't to much worried , that was April 2017, it's now nov 2017, & it's worse, I checked it out & its at least sway bar bushings, going to bring it into a certified mechanic to know for sure that it's nothing more. If you ever know something is wrong with your car, get it checked by someone else also before your warranty is up. Prior to this I tried getting a car for my daughter here, since I'm still happy w the sorento (it's a nice vehicle) napepton sales was extremely pushy- we walked out.

Amazing experience!

My experience was honestly perfect! My car was totaled in an accident and the amount of overwhelmed I felt car shopping after that was extreme! I had talked to other dealerships and they kept stressing me out! Lol I came into kia and had a car I’m mind and was greated right away by Allen Nieves and he was so kind and quickly introduced us to our dealer! Our dealers name was Josh Bodfield and I loved him so much because he was so patient with me and understanding to the stressful position I was in. Pricing was an issue with me because no matter what I was having to raise the payments I originally had and he did everything he could to get me comfortable going back and forth seeing what he could do for me. When numbers started to be to overwhelming for me he gave us a break and let us go look at the car and talk privately! He knew when to talk to us and when to give us a moment alone to discuss it and I really appreciated it because that wasn’t something I had at other dealerships. The kindness every person we worked with was shocking, we actually made a point to tell everyone it didn’t feel like a dealership it felt so friendly! Halfway through this process the man that originally greeted us actually came to say goodbye to me because his shift was over and I really loved that and josh was great the whole time and the last person we had to sign papers with, josh Hastings (who we kept there an hour after they closed) was still so kind and when I had another scare money wise was quick to come up with a solution to keep me comfortable and he just met us. He was so great! At the end I was sitting in now, MY CAR, And josh was showing us how to do everything and a man cake by just to say hi and how nice the car was and that he was excited for me and I didn’t even find out till after he walked away it was Steve napleton himself?! Again, we kept all these people here over an hour after they closed and the fact everyone was so kind and the owner came out just to say he was happy for us and shake my hand is shocking honestly. He was so down to earth and you’d never know he was such an important roll. All in all I was completely shocked about the kindness of everyone and I was a customer who didn’t want another car at all and didn’t want another brand at all and they were so amazing I easily did it with kia. I’ll recommend them to everyone and hope everyone speaks to who helped me as well because I’m sure you’ll have just as amazing of an experience.

Good Car Service

Very good service and the condiments on the waiting are good as well. They inspect the whole car and tells you what is needed to be charged asap and/or when it can wait. They also understand that not always everyone has all the Kinsey in the world to spend hundreds to thousands of dollars to repair the car. So they can sometimes help you out by working something out with you.

I got 3 calls from the dealer during the week during work hours which I could not answer + a few emails, saturday morning they left me a voicemail saying that the vehicle that i was interested in still available with a discount so I call to make sure the vehicle was really available and a guy called Kevin said yes , anyway I drove 45 or 50 minutes and when I got there he said the truck has a problem so it was not available we have another one about the same price but it was a junk, they wanted me to buy what they want.

DEALER DID THE BAIT AND SWITCH PRICE

USED CAR MANGER TOLD ME THE PRICE ON THE USED VAN WAS $500,00 MORE BECAUSE THEY HAD DONE A SAFTEY INSPECTION ON IT. I ASKED IF IT WAS DONE ALREADY AND ALLEN SAID YES, AND IF THAT WERE TRUE HOW COME THE SIDE DOORS DO NOT OPEN..THEY CALLED ME BACK WITHIN ONE HOUR AFTERING LEAVING THERE AND SAID I CAN HAVE THE VAN AT THE LOWER PRICE, NO WAY NOT AFTER YOU TRIED TO GET ME FOR MORE MONEY. WILL NEVER GO BACK AND WILL TELL FRIENDS AND FAMILY DO NOT GO THERE.

Expensive

$40 for a synthetic blend or $75 for full synthetic oil change and $20 for the tires rotation was really expensive. And that's for the car that was purchased here, brand new, in October 2015.
