Excellent service

By tarheel on 6/18/2018 at 1:20 PM. Helped by Anthony, Ashley, Brian.

My car had a number of mileage-related repairs. I found that the Anthony in service was excellent and kept me well informed. I was also very impressed with the new service manager, Brian, who had a very hands-on approach to keeping me in the loop.

I would recommend this dealer.

Terrible Service

By k.no on 6/15/2018 at 6:36 PM. Helped by Service Writer.

My first, and hopefully only, experience with Nashville Subaru was beyond sub-par. With an appointment for a basic oil change, I still waited over 2-hours (this is on top of being being ignored by the service writers upon my arrival. When my car was finally done, the service writer informed me that I would need 4 new tires (my current tires have less than 10,000 miles on them). When I asked for more information, he said their was a nail in one tire. I understand that with AWD you replace all tires at once, but he was unable to explain why the tire was not repairable. He also gave me a service estimate for an additional $1300 in service that the recommend--not based on inspection, just recommended. After leaving the dealership, I stopped at another reputable mechanic who saw no reason not to repair the tire, and did so quickly and at a very reasonable price. Why Nashville Subaru couldn't provide this service is beyond me.

I would not recommend this dealer.

New customer to this dealership; Excellent service and staff

By crohrer92 on 5/11/2018 at 11:53 PM. Helped by Cant remember but she was chill!.

This dealership really knocked it out of the park for me. Although it was just a simple oil change and tire rotation on my '17 WRX, I was impressed with the friendly staff and a nonchalant attitude about the modifications I've done with the car. I was a little hesitant to pull the trigger on going to a new dealership. I've had a relatively long relationship with another local dealership. I was recently burned by said dealership and disrespected. The OTHER GUYS definitely lost my business due to their lack of courtesy and because they could come up with 3 different stories for any problem I had but not actually act to remedy the situation and make my experience not crap. It was almost as if I was treated as subservient to them and other customers. And I'm really not that hard to get along with. I promise. To sum it up, Nashville Subaru easily earned my business. They got me at the friendly staff that doesn't make excuses or attempt to make me feel stupid. Thanks guys, y'all rock!

I would recommend this dealer.

Service

By JKS on 5/11/2018 at 1:12 PM. Helped by Sorry, bad with names but I would list them if I could - they were great.

I purchased my first Subaru Outback at this dealership 1 yr ago. My sales rep was excellent, my first experience with service was not that great but they have improved greatly and my last experience was wonderful. I find the customer service excellent and there is one gentleman who ALWAYS greets the customers waiting for service and offers beverages and snacks while we wait plus gives a a warm and wonderful smile. I only wish I new his name so I could provide kudos for him here.

I would recommend this dealer.

Will Never Do Business With Them Again

By Robyn Emerson on 4/11/2018 at 2:02 PM. Helped by I think his name was Eric. He was nice..

The entire experience with them was horrible. It took 2 days to get an appointment. No one would ever call me back, answer the phone or the text I was able to send from their own website. Finally after I emailed someone emailed me back. I set and appointment for Saturday, I needed recall work done. When I got there the guy acted like I was crazy for being there because they don't do warranty work on Saturday. I showed him my email with the confirmation that I had an appointment and the part they needed was in stock. He took the car and said to be back at 1:00pm. This was as 10:00am. I wasted the day waiting on 1:00 when I got a phone call around 12:00 saying they did not have the part they needed even though it showed 2 in stock in their computer. We also had asked them to program a key we had, they were not able to do that either they some to come pick up the car and we would have to come back another day. I was so mad. When I got there the man was nice and felt bad, but I had wasted a Saturday morning on this BS. Only after I asked for his boss's name and number did he offer a loaner car for the weekend and to keep ours until they could get it fixed. I took them up on it. We live 30 minutes from the dealership so it's not like we can just swing by. They did fix the car, but only after all they hassle. Doing business with a company should not be this hard. I will NEVER go back there again. It is already a pain to have a car recalled let alone having to beg someone to fix it.

I would not recommend this dealer.

Agree shuttle service is a nightmare and menace to our roads

By Miss Anne on 3/24/2018 at 7:24 PM. Helped by Anthony.

The service representative I dealt with (Anthony) was excellent, and if not for the shuttle service, I would give this dealer 5 stars. I was shuttled along with another customer. The driver asked if it was O.K. if he dropped off his son, who was in the car, at his school "a couple blocks away." A couple blocks away turned out to be 2 miles away in Edgehill, and completely opposite the direction the other passenger and I were going. He sped through alleys, and was doing fast starts and stops, speeding, and darting in and out of traffic, rather dangerously. After taking us on his personal errand, he goes right past the dealership another 20 minutes later. By the time he dropped me off, I noted the other passenger looked quite carsick, and I asked if she was O.K., and she unconvincingly nodded yes. Their shuttle driver needs to go, he is a walking liability for the company, and eventually, a customer, or another driver or pedestrian is going to get hurt, or worse by this guy. I'll probably use the dealership again, but I will NEVER get into a car with this shuttle driver again!

I would recommend this dealer.

Shuttle service is a nightmare.

By capehedo on 3/23/2018 at 2:31 AM. Helped by Anthony Valentin.

I had an appointment to have my vehicle serviced here and was happy to see the work was performed quickly within the day. The service advisor I had was very kind, professional and was wonderful to work with. However, my only complaint was the shuttle service that the dealer provided. The driver was very unprofessional. He talked on the phone, sped around the city with the dealership's new vehicle, did not pick me up on time, and when he did arrive there was another passenger in the front seat who appeared to be his personal friend. On the way to the dealership he continued to drive recklessly and made several sexist remarks about the women they saw on the street. It is because of this experience with their shuttle service that I would not be able to recommend this dealership to anyone.

By JES0189 on 3/8/2018 at 5:44 PM. Helped by Unknown (One of the ladies in the service department).

The folks at the dealership were incredibly kind, professional, and prompt. I had to bring in my vehicle for last-minute repairs and they were able to get me in within a reasonable amount of time and at a reasonable cost. The woman who helped me was great, too! I highly recommend this dealership and will be bringing my Subaru back to them for future repairs.

Oil Change and Warranty Work Great

By bilbo789 on 3/1/2018 at 8:24 PM. Helped by Jessica in Service.

I was scheduled to have some service work on my 2013 Subaru Outback this past Monday February 26, 2018. I arrived at 8 am and although I was a half hour early for my 8:30 appointment, Jessica was happy to go ahead with my check-in. She mentioned that the work would take about 2 hours and that it was good that I arrived early so they could begin the work right away. I went to one of the customer waiting areas and at about 9:50 am she came to tell me my car was ready. Back at her service desk, she went over the work completed with me, asked if I had any questions, I signed, and went on my way. A quick in and out, great treatment by Jessica, and I'm happy about my visit. I might add that I did not bur this car from this dealership, but they have treated me like I did ever since I began taking it here earlier this year. Everyone I encountered in this dealership has always been welcoming to me on my 3 visits so far. I can highly recommend this dealership for service and friendliness.

Oil change and nitrogen in tires

By GWhit on 2/20/2018 at 12:42 PM. Helped by Unknown.

I made an appointment on line and showed up at the appointed time. Paper work was ready, was told it would take about 1 hour to 1 hour, 15 minutes. Two and 1/2 hours later, I'm called to check out. I did receive a small discount, but not enough to make up for my lost time. Coupons sent are worthless as they don't cover any of the services used.

I will NEVER do business with Downtown Subaru again… ever.

By donhejny on 12/8/2017 at 4:51 PM. Helped by Alex.

I will NEVER do business with Downtown Subaru again… ever. I got a call from Downtown Subaru that my 2012 Impreza was up for a recall. What was supposed to be a FREE 3hr repair took 1 week and cost me $880. ——— FULL STORY My first 2 interactions with Downtown Subaru weren’t great either but I chalked them up to the car dealership stigma and moved on. I got a call a week ago that there was an active recall on my Impreza and was told that it should only be a 3 hr repair. I made an appointment and brought it in on Wednesday Nov 29th at 10:30am. When I dropped the car off the agent checking me in let me know that the car wouldn’t be done until later that afternoon because they couldn’t get to it for at least 3 hrs… I don’t know what the point of having an appointment is then… but moving on. At 5pm I still have yet to hear anything and I know they close at 6pm so I give them a call. The agent says that the tech didn’t realize I had heated seats and cut the wires off in the wrong place so they needed to order a part but it should be in on Friday and they’ll get the car done first thing. I let them know that this is a huge inconvenience for me because I have meetings I have to drive to the next day so they offer to put me in a loaner. Fantastic… So I head down to the dealer to pick up the loaner. I always do an inspection when I get rentals and for whatever reason… probably just my annoyance I didn’t this time… bad on me. The agent when I was checking out the car said there was a tire pressure warning and not to worry about it. Okay whatever… Then I get in the car and notice that the front passenger side tire is at 45psi and the rest are at 35. I go through Thursday just fine and don’t hear anything from the dealer. On my way home on Friday I hit a pothole, it was a doozy, and sure enough that front passenger tire blows out. Luckily, I’m only a few blocks from my house so I just drive it back and park it on the curb. When I get out to inspect there’s a pretty big gash out of the sidewall of the front AND rear tire. I don’t remember hitting the back tire as well but I’m willing to concede it’s possible. So I pop the trunk to get out the spare… when I see that they’ve put wheel locks on the rims. ugh… so I crank the lugs off and when I get to the wheel lock the thing just strips out and now the tire is stuck on the car and I’m not getting it off. So I call the dealer to let them know that I can’t get the flat off and get an update on my car. Unfortunately, the part “just got in” and they haven’t gotten to my car yet. They tell me to call the roadside assistance number on the window and they’ll tow the car back to the dealer and get me in another vehicle since my car still isn’t done. I remind them that it’s 4:30pm on a Friday, it’s pretty unlikely that the tow truck driver is going to get here and get me over to the dealer by 6pm. I’m assured that they’ll make it work for me and stay as late as needed to get me back on the road. 7pm rolls around and after multiple calls back and forth with Roadside Assistance the tow-truck driver finally shows up. I call the dealer to let them know I’m on the way when I get an agent who informs me that they don’t have any other cars to put me in… so just give the key to the driver and he can drop it in the box. This is literally the thing I told them would happen but at this point I’m so burnt out that I just say fine, I’m just going to go without a car for Saturday. They say that they’ll call me tomorrow when my car is done. Sat no call Sun no call Mon no call I call in Monday and I’m told that the tech who was working on my car had to leave but no worries they’ll get someone else to work on it. At this point I’m passing the line of annoyed… Tuesday at 5pm I get a call that my car is done and ready for pick up. I let them know that there’s no way I’m driving across town at 5pm so I just say I’ll pick it up in the morning. Get to the dealer Wed morning exactly 1 week after dropping it off. I’m greeted by the agent who says “ here you go no charge for the repair” I half mumble “recall”… He then says…. “About the “damage” to the rental.” I say “damage”? I got a flat tire. He asks if I looked at it… “yeah I did…. It looked like there were 2 chunks out of the sidewall” He then says that the rims we’re damaged two… I agree they we’re gouged from the pothole but it was just the outer bit of the rim… the trunk (which I did happen to point out when I picked up the car) looked like it was backed into a light pole. I can see where this is going so I ask how much they want to charge me for the “damage” $880 I attempt to hold back a laugh… I fail The agent then says basically it’s $280 per tire and $160 per rim to repair. Eye-roll He asks if I want to get my insurance company involved… I inform him that my car insurance doesn’t cover road hazards. that’s why I get the hazard insurance when I buy my tires. He says “yeah but you didn’t buy these tires there”… Wow. really… I digress. Needless to say I push back and forth with him and he leaves a couple times to go talk to his manager and at the end of it all it’s a “well, sorry… you’re responsible” situation. So I threw down my credit card and bite the bullet and ask where the service managers desk is…. When I walk into the service managers office, my sarcasm and eye-rolling has turned to a red face and quivering voice and it’s all I can do to hold it together enough to tell him that I am EXTREMELY disappointed with the way this situation was handled and will NEVER EVER EVER bring my car in for service at his dealer again. He somewhat shrugs and says sorry that I feel that way and he’ll look into it. It’s been 3 days and I haven’t heard a thing. When I hit that pothole they had a chance to turn around the really crappy experience I was having… but instead they chose to ding me again. And for what $880? The last time I had my car worked on there it was almost $2,500. I promise you they will never see another dollar from me. I will never buy a car from them and I will make it my mission to tell everyone I know with a Subaru to take their car somewhere else.

Great knowledge and caring!

By Sue Ellen on 12/5/2017 at 3:44 PM. Helped by Eric Casarrubias - Finance Manager - excellent!!.

Chris Knapp was my sales rep. He was both knowledgeable and caring. There was no pressure at all instead I was given education on what my Outback offered - very enjoyable experience. Everyone at this dealership was helpful and easy going. I had difficulty deciding on a vehicle and color and Chris was patient with me and wanted to make sure I got the right vehicle for me. He spent time with me regarding all my concerns. This was the most enjoyable experience I have had in purchasing a vehicle. Thank you Chris and to all the Nashville Downtown Subaru staff.

very pleasant experience buying two cars on the same day.

By AB on 11/29/2017 at 4:39 PM. Helped by Rahim Ashari.

I have been to other dealers for the vehicles my family members desired to buy. It was the best car buying experience because of the sales person I dealt with, Mr. Rahim Ashari. There were no misleading statements or false promises. He was very sensitive to the boundaries I set, and very respectable space. There were no surprises or gimmicks after all was done.

Good technical work, lack of organization

By Felix Diaz on 11/20/2017 at 5:09 PM. Helped by ..

I have taken my subaru in several times for maintenance and part changes, and the technical service itself is high quality. As for management and the experience leading to the service, it lacks organization. They committed to have my parts in two days, I went back in as we agreed, and the parts had not arrived yet. I did not get a call or any sort of notification about this. They tell me to come back in two more days. They did give me a discount for the troubles. Another issue is their customer service on the phone. You call, they transfer you from department to department, the information does not match from person to person, and it just becomes a cluster.

Four days too many

By Anna on 11/3/2017 at 2:49 PM. Helped by service employees.

Brought my 2011 Subaru Impreza in on a Friday morning due to an airbag recall. They told me it would take 4 hours to fix. 4.5 hours later, they told me it would be another hour. I went to dinner with a friend while I waited for a phone call... Nothing through closing that night. The next day, I went there in a friend's car (they never offered a loaner). As I was parking, a gentleman approached me so I explained the situation. He told me he would check on my car and be right back. NEVER returned! While I waited for him, I called the dealership and they told me my car was not ready. When I asked how long it would take, they told me they'd have to do some research and would let me know. Never got a call back that day. The next day was Sunday, so they were closed. I called on Monday from work, and the lady told me my car had been ready since Friday! What?! When I arrived to pick my car up, all I got was $40 off the alternator belt I had agreed to let them fix. NEVER AGAIN.
