Very RUDE Financial Manager

Wow - Just visited Northtown Kia yesterday 4/16/2019 - My wife and I test drove a Kia Telluride and Toyota Highlander. We liked both vehicles and asked to run the numbers for the Telluride. Our salesperson Minh was great. But we know the sales person has no control of any financial dealing. If I could give a half star I would. I have never been treated worse when looking to purchase a new vehicle! The Financial manager - I believe his name was Mike - came out and told us there was no way to get us in the Telluride - a $35,000 vehicle for less then $500 a month and wanted about $5,000 - 7,000 down. We had a GMC Acadia with 4 months left on our lease. He treated us like we were white trash poor people. Amazing, how a dealership would allow anything like this to happen. We asked about the current KIA incentives that I saw on-line. He knew absolutely nothing about them. I asked him if he was the financial manager - how does he not know the manufactures deals on the Kia Telluride. Isn't this a KIA dealership!!! He was very rude to my wife and myself. Of course - when we walked out of Northtown Kia - the sales manager never tried to talk to us or see what they can do to get us in a KIA. They didn't even contact us today - this is why we are making this review. After we left Northtown - we went and visited Basil Toyota - and was treated much better. We in turn not only purchased a NEW Toyota Highlander - but we were able to get a loaded XLE Highlander - with a price of $42,067 fully loaded. They also allowed us to take it overnight. After some much negotiating we were able to get our payments below $400 a month with $2500 down. BUYER BEWARE --- I would stay away from Northtown KIA

Poor attention by staff

When buying a car you don’t expect your sales man to walk away from you in the middle of the process to take care of someone who just walked in. I? waited an hour at Nick G’s desk before going up to the front desk and asking for assistance. I? then had to wait another half hour before Brandon from the finance office heard me complaining and came over to help out. I? must also add that Brandon had what appeared to be a “lip” packed. Very unprofessional. I? was not going to come back to northtown for this new car and after this experience I? really wish that I? went to transitowne or West herr. I? should not have been at the dealership for well over 3 hours when Nick knew 2 days prior that I? would be coming in to get a new car. I? was the only customer present at the time purchasing a vehicle. I? now know why other dealerships are beating you in sales, the service and attention to customers is subpar. I? wouldn’t recommend northtown to any potential buyers based on the atmosphere and poor customer service.

You followed up with us several times to see how we were with our new leased vehicle and you showed us how all the “gadgets” worked. It was informative and fun. Thank you. Leased a car

Came in under the impression there was a lease deal for a 2017 Kia Soul for $0.00 down and about $180.00 a month, only to find out that that deal wasn't on the desktop website, only the mobile website. So after proving to the salesman that the sale was actually on the website, it was sent to the manager. Turns out there weren't any 2017 Kia Souls available for that offer. I was catered to a little when the manager offered a better deal on the 2018 Kia Soul. Although it wasn't the deal I walked into the dealership hoping for, it wasn't terrible. I ended up putting down a little over $2,000.00 to have the care leased for $219.00 a month. I'm satisfied enough I suppose but not completely since I didn't get the deal I walked into the dealership for. I do not blame the salesman for this. I put blame on the misleading web advertisement and some blame on the manager for not bringing the price closer to what I was at the dealership for.

Cannot say enough about the customer service received from Matt Baglio! After our previous sales associate became a Manager at another Northtown location, we were not sure the experience would be the same. Working as a Customer Service manager, I set the bar pretty high on what I expect. Matt and team did not disappoint!! To say Matt is genuine is an understatement. He clearly loves what he does and was a pleasure to deal with. We will absolutely be back for our 6th Northtown vehicle! On a side note, we have dealt with the service department and collision shop for several years now. Very happy with the experience!

Very satisfied with the process and any negotiations that needed to happen. I would come back for another one but apparently it's going to be 10 years before I need one… Joe Kia Faletta was on top of my every desire, and really quite fair in explaining the process , Not pressuring me even though you knew I had other offers on the table. Whoever the mystery manager was apparently must've liked my luxe also. I'm kidding but they really were good as was the business guy who presented the options and all the details.

Service sucks

Bought my truck from northtown a big mistake everytime i bring it in for an issue they always have something to say such as o we dont see anything wrong when there is their employees arent doing it the right way i asked to speak to general manager but the girl didnt no who that was she seemed clueless i asked to speak to a manager or higher up an she didnt no who and just told me theres noone like that here needless to say i will NEVER bring my truck back there not even for an oil change im so done I will bring my service else where and for this review thing i had to give atleast 1 star if i had it my way i wouldnt give no star because north town sucks

I would purchase elsewhere

Overall I would not recommend Northtown autogroup. While I did end up purchasing a vehicle from Northtown I should have gone somewhere else. Most dealerships in my search use the no haggle approach, Northtown doesn't. It's annoying to have to drive to the dealership to haggle on a price versus them just listing the lowest price they'll accept online. Of course they want you to come in, that's where it all begins. It was my choice to drive the 2 hours up to Amherst. On the first trip in the morning the car had both sets of floor mats, carpeted and allweather, but when I went back that evening to pick up the car I never realized they had taken the allweather mats out of the vehicle. While I do think this is my fault I missed this, I also think it shows what kind of a place you're dealing with. You spend $15000 on a car, and they can't just give you the extra set of floor mats that were in the car hours earlier. I attempted to contact the dealership, and it's been nearly 4 days without a response. Eager to take you're money, but good luck getting a response once they have it. It could be worth it for you if you happen to find a car you like. No haggle dealerships offer a better experience to me. You either like the price or you don't in which you don't go there. Nearly three months later: Never heard anything back from the dealership or the sales agent Mike Maniscalco. He texted me to get a piece of information about the car, and I sent the information back. The next day I sent him a text to inquire as to what happened to the floor mats and never heard anything back. I would have to say this has gone down as the worst buying experience I've ever been apart of. I'm the person in the family people take to buy cars, so I've been apart of many purchases. From top to bottom bad. I would rate this 2014 Hyundai Sonata as well below average also. The number of times I've had to take it into the dealership, for safety and tech issues is aweful. Now you add in that they have recalled the car to replace the engine. As if the buying experience wasn't bad enough, now I'll lose the car for as long as it takes them to replace the engine. I do not recommend purchasing from Northtown Autogroup ( I didn't service my car there, so I can't speak to that). I can't see purchasing another Hyundai for the time being either.

Ran my credit anyway after i said no

I took a test drive and ad interest in the vehicle but after talking numbers i decided i did not want to pursue any business with kia. I asked them NOT to run my credit and i checked my credit score a few days later to receive an alert that my credit was run by Northtown WR at 3900 sheridan drive. I could sue, but i believe they took the paperwork away from me before i could get it back. So im not sure if they have a signature. But verbally i told them to toss it.

I would not recommend this dealer.

My 2012 Sedona failed the emissions test at a local dealer, so I drove an hour to have KIA look it over. First they let me know that nothing would be covered under the warranty, I was at 79,000 miles. So I sucked it up and said fine I will pay for the smoke test to see where the emissions leak was. The gentleman I was working with was very polite and understood that I am not made of money. He said that they would do the test and call to let me know what was wrong and what it would take to fix it. Originally this was the plan, the smoke test for $125 and then call me, I was very clear that I was not able to pay anymore than that for this day. He also said he was leaving early but there was another man that would be able to handle everything, so far no big deal. A couple hours later I get a call that the evap canister had failed and would need to be replaced and that my total for the day would be $500! I was shocked, I said but "you were only supposed to do the smoke test" to which the new guy replied "well yeah that's all we did, but if you want us to fix it the total will be $500, I mean it has to be fixed" I told him that's not something I can afford right now I will have to park it. He told me to give them 30 minutes to get the car back together, so I went in to get it. The new guys seemed very unsure of himself, he was trying to get the paperwork together and my husband and I were making small talk just to be polite. The whole time the man next to him kept glaring at us and rolling his eyes when we were telling the younger man that we thought the new KIA's were nice. So we finally get our car, go home and call our regular dealer ( who is not a KIA dealer, hence why we needed the sensor testing done at Northtown), and our trusted dealer says "well, that's too bad I will help anyway I can, we can get the part for $175 and I will only charge you for half and hour labor, that's about all it will take" way cheaper than Northtowne. We started off fine at KIA, but as soon as they were not going to make a lot of money off of us we were treated like garbage. Oh and to top it all off they double charged my bank account for the $125 and I don't mean it was pending, they processed TWO PAYMENTS!! When I called and spoke with the service manager at first he said it would take a few days to investigate and then send us a check. I was pissed my account was negative because of them, only when I yelled did he actually try to fix this, he called me back about 15 minutes after our initial call and said "oh well the accounting dept already caught this and they are on the phone with your bank", bull, they didn't catch anything, it was because I called. It took 3 days for them to re-credit my account and I had to fax them bank papers showing that they caused my account to go negative and caused me fees. They mailed me a check for the bank fee, but for several days I got to look at my empty account. I will never ever return to this KIA dealer. If you are not wealthy they will treat you like crap end of story.

Service visit

I had a clogged air-conditioning discharge drain in my Kia Soul serviced this morning. Everyone in the service department was professional, helpful, and friendly. As a senior woman who knows nothing about cars, I really appreciated the technician carefully explaining the problem to me. And my car was ready 20 minutes ahead of schedule!
