Although I did not purchase a car from Ocala Subaru, I wanted to give thanks to the Sales Consultant, Scott Mauck, who spent some time with us and took us for a test drive. He was very knowledgeable and informative. I hope this review helps him in some way. Thanks Scott.

purchase of subaru forrester

initially I was treated very well but as the process continued I realized that they were being deceitful and when I called them out on it they became rude and combatative they also advertise, while I was on hold, that they would beat any deal on new subaru by $1000 - and they would not do that at all I was told that they couldn't work with me and I should go buy my vehicle at another dealership - which I did with no problem and bought a 2018 for $3000 less than they were willing to sell me a 2017 buyer beware!!!

I would not recommend this dealer.

False Advertising

This dealership states they would beat any new car invoice by $1,000. So I Sent a copy of my invoice and an email, sent to me unsolicited from their office, that offered no dealer fee. I was given the stall for over two days then they told me they couldn't make the deal and the person who sent the email doesn't work in that office. They offered me a car for $3,000 more than the produced invoice and said that was the best they could do. I was told I would receive phone calls from the salesman, they didn't come, no messages sent stating they were working on the deal. On the third day the manager, Will, who had no clue what the situation was or where we were in the process gets involved, obviously reluctantly, and says no deal. The feeling I get from interaction with this dealership is if they can't stand by their advertising they ignore you and hope you just go away. If you don't believe me call the dealership, remain on hold for ten minutes and count the number of times you hear we will beat any new car price by $1,000 and any used car price by $500 then try to get them to live by their words and see what happens. Good Luck. Bolton line is because of their false advertising and stall tactics I have neither car.

I hated to buy new cars, but no more. Vance Colwell gave me a fair price on an XC60 & my trade in, telling me everything I needed to know with NO Pressure.

showroom sales staff did their 'homework', knew their product. 1st experience with this dealership and it was all A+, top-notch, being from the 'old school' customer service means everything to me. And to top it off, the price they put on the table was REAL CLOSE to the number I was thinking about.

No High Pressure

Great Experience!

I needed to turn in my 2013 Subaru Legacy lease and wasn't sure if I wanted to stay with a Subaru. Leanne took us for a test drive in a 2016 Legacy and I was happy with the performance and ended up leasing the car. Leanne took the time to get to know my wife and me and introduced us to the various people in all the different areas of the dealership. She also took the time to demonstrate all the new features that were not present in our 2013. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience.

Ocala Subaru

My experience buying a car this time was different, because there was no high pressured sales. Also, Mr. McLean took time to inform me on all aspects of the cars workings. It wasn't just sell you a car & send you home. I've only said this about my first car, but I REALLY like my car, & now look forward to driving whenever I get the chance.

I was totally blown away by the wonderful experience and sales help I received at Subaru of Ocala. It was a world apart from any of the other car-buying experiences I have ever had. Sheila Johnson approached me in a very friendly, calm, and pleasant way and helped me find the car I was looking for. Sheila answered all of my questions knowledgeably, demonstrated the features of the Forester we were test driving (which I went on to buy and fall completely in love with during one week of driving it so far). I found all the sales people and the financial person very professional and helpful, and I have never had such a positive experience buying a car. Ms. Johnson went out of her way to facilitate the transfer of my old to new auto and to make my purchase as pleasant and hassle-free as possible, and she has since followed up with phone calls to make sure that all is going well. A very positive experience.

Great people great service

We first met Ocala Subaru while looking at new Subaru's and Lee Smith was the first face we met when arriving at the dealership. We have had nothing but great things to say since that first meeting, it turns out that all the people that work there have the same attitude of enjoying there career. We decided to move into a per-owned Subaru and could not find one at Ocala Subaru so we had to buy from another Subaru dealer out of town. Now you would think that would cause issue if you need service well not with Subaru of Ocala. We just got a one year old Forester in Orlando and have plans to visit the Mountains of North Carolina in July. Even knowing the Forester was in 100% shape for such a trip and that Sport Subaru has serviced it before we got it we still wanted it checked out for the long trip. Brian Purdy set us up for service within 48 hours, treated us like we got the Forester from them, I was able to get my wife a Subaru coffee mug and key chain "free," and I paid for a Subaru mug and hat for myself. To me that is some great service, I now fill at ease about our purchase of the Subaru knowing that we have a dealership that will take care of us for the life of my wife's Forester. Now if she decides to trade in one day for a new one, Ocala Subaru will get out business. Not only did they do a great job for us when we started looking at cars, they took us in as family after we get a one year old Forester from another dealer. That to me speaks volumes to my family. Also a shout out to the guy in Parts, sorry for not getting his name but he was very pleasant to deal with and went above expectations. Thank You, Jerry

Best car buying expeience ever

I have always had the worst luck when comes to buying a new vehicle. I must say this has been by the best ever. John McLean was very helpful in the process of me getting my new Subaru. He was not at all Pushy and made sure I was getting the car to fit my family's needs. He even took the time to make sure I knew how everything worked on the Car. I would definitely recommend anyone who is in the market for a new car to visit him. My car buying Experience was absolutely wonderful . Thanks John Mclean we love our new Subaru.

service dept /detail need work

Take a good look at service department around back. needed to go back 3 times and did not fix problem. Subaru rep will not meet with you or call you. I made a mistake -never again Subaru. Pete is the best G/Manager, God Bless Us All !

Recently purchased late model Subaru Legacy from this dealership. Gabe, my salesman was down to earth, very personable and I felt like he advocated for me, the customer. He even called me a few days later to check on my satisfaction with the car. After a few back and forths, the general manager, Pete Petrosky treated me more than fairly.
