Our advisor David Hickerson was amazing. We were in the market for a new car and he took the time to let us test drive two different cars to make sure we liked what we were getting. Excellent Customer Service from Vincent McLeod

Went to Performance Subaru a couple of weeks to look at a Lexus ES 350 in their pre-owned lot. I was assisted by Vincent McLeod, who provided a Grade A experience throughout the entire process - he answered every question in regards to the ES 350 while also showing me a Lexus LS 460 that Performance received a few days prior. I bought the ES 350 model and also brought in my father, who ended up purchasing the LS 460. My family bought 2 cars from Performance, and I can honestly say this would not have been possible without the excellent customer service provided by Vince. Bill Miller and DeBois Thompson were also involved and instrumental in providing an excellent customer service experience - I greatly appreciate all 3 gentleman for going out of their way to treat my family like theirs throughout the entire sales process.

problems with great solutions.

we bought a 2015 crosstrek limited with eye sight. we were happy with the purchase. But a week after we bought it the check engine light came on and after multiple times taking it to be serviced it wouldn't go off. we got frustrated and after discussing it with the dealership we decided to take it to the manufacturer. Apparently it was a engineering problem because the dealership was doing all the could servicing the vehicle. So it only took a few days for them to work out a way to put us in a brand new crosstrek that we were happy with. Sometimes things don't go the way you want them to. When things do go a little sour it's nice to have the support from the other end. I'm happy with the service Performance provided. they listened to us and helped get to a solution that was pleasing. we are very happy with our New crosstrek and will be definitely looking to buy another soon from them.

I love my new Crosstrek. Alejandro and debois helped me find the right vehicle. I needed a vehicle that would fit my children car seats and the Crosstrek was perfect. I was in the market for an Impreza and considering the Crosstrek. Alejandro greeted me as soon as I arrived and had this happy attitude to him. He allowed me to sit in both the vehicle I was interested and helped me select the Crosstrek due to its space and ease of getting in and out. The vehicle was not just for me but also for getting my husband around who needs to easily get in and out. I thank Alejandro and want to say we loved our experience!

A tale of two Subarus

Back in February, I had an emergency new car need. I went around to various dealerships, where I was put through rigmarole. Then one day I emailed West Dupuis at Performance. She sold me a 2017 Subaru Impreza 2.0i with manual transmission entirely via email. So when my wife and I needed a second car this month, we went back to West and bought a 2018 Subaru Crosstrek 2.0i Premium. Two great cars, one great dealership, and a truly great saleperson.

REFUSED CVT repair under warranty

I didn't buy my Subaru Impreza 2013 at Performance Subaru, but I have been a service customer since 2010 (previously with 2010 Subaru Impreza). On 11/28/17, My 2013 Subaru Impreza was having transmission issues (Check engine, AT oil temp). Subaru extended the warranty on my CVT transmission via letter in July 2017. From the letter, "A one year coverage period is available for all eligible vehicles listed above regardless of mileage and warranty start date, and is effective now through July 31, 2018." On 11/30/17, I brought my car in to Performance Subaru service in Chapel Hill, NC. Later that day, the service advisor (Brant) told me over the phone that my transmission was overfilled with fluid which destroyed my transmission. He said quarts of transmission fluid came out. They refused to honor the warranty, telling me I have to replace my transmission. Brant told me talk to the shop that changed my transmission fluid in February 2017 (10 mo. and 30K miles ago). For some reason, since Mr. Transmission changed my fluid, Performance Subaru refuses to honor the warranty. They are blaming others to avoid warranty repair. When I arrived to Performance Subaru to pick up my car, the service repair notes contradict what my service advisor said. The paperwork indicates, "Transmission fluid was little to none (front differential was overfilled)." They just handed me my keys and said call the Service Manager, Jason Nunnery. He is unavailable until 12/5/17. I called Performance Subaru again on 12/1 to ask if they put any transmission fluid in my vehicle and they confirmed NO. On 12/1/17, I brought my Subaru to Flow in Burlington, NC who performed a second CVT inspection. Upon inspection, the transmission fluid is at a normal level. Something went very wrong with the communication from Performance Subaru about the transmission and fluid. The CVT on a Subaru is a closed system (no dipstick, no fill port). There is a serious discrepancy between what Performance Subaru said and did and what was seen when I got a second opinion. I am filing a formal complaint with Subaru, the Better Business Bureau, and the NC Attorney General.

I recently purchased a Subaru Forester from Performance Subaru. My salesperson, Chris Kulis was very patient, knowledgeable and very professional. I was so impressed that He was able to find me the perfect car that was tailored to meet all of my family’s needs. Will Priest, the finance manager, also helped me. He was very efficient and answered all of our questions. Since having such a great experience with Chris and will my husband now wants a Subaru! I would highly recommend them! I’ll definitely be doing business with them again!

I sent an e-mail in the middle of the night to Performance Subaru regarding a specific Outback (Certified Pre-Owned). Not thirty minutes after they had opened the next morning, I received an email back from Chris Kulis (salesperson). I decided to drive from Winston-Salem to look at the car. Chris had the Outback detailed and ready at the door, for me to check and test-drive. Long story short, I did buy the car on that day, and the experience with Chris and with Brian (Pre-Owned Sales Manager) was smooth and very pleasant. At the end, I found myself with the impossible task of driving 2 cars at the same time..... Will Priest (Finance Manager) offered to have it delivered to my house the next day. I wholeheartedly recommend the reader to give this dealership a try, especially with the people I mentioned.

Last week I purchased a CPO 2017 Outback with only 10,000 miles. I couldn't believe the deal I was getting--basically a new car but thousands of dollars cheaper. David Hickerson was so friendly and helpful and I really felt he was giving me the best advice that worked with my budget. I highly recommend Performance Subaru!

Service (or lack of) - Subaru Forester

I bought a Forester at Performance (this part of dealership was fine) and regularly took it in for service. I had a prepaid service contract. I always mark the tires before a scheduled rotation. After a service visit, I later discovered that the tires had NOT been rotated as stated. Also, I checked the oil a few weeks later and discovered that it was low and then I noticed that the oil sticker had not been updated. Consequently, I believe that none of the paid for service had actually been done. When I complained to a service manager they admitted that an employee was lax and had to be laid off. However, the company refused a refund. I have since moved and the Subaru service center in RI seems to be fine. My older Forester runs much better than it did after a service visit to Performance. If you do have service done here- mark those tires and your oil filter and see if your oil is clear afterwards.
