Horrible "service"

By PissedCustomer on 1/4/2019 at 4:17 PM. Helped by Parts department.

A massive lack of transparency combined with ignoring emails and dodging phone calls makes this one of the worst experiences I've ever had with any company in my life. Go literally anywhere else.

Excellent salesmanship and service delivery

By Soso on 1/2/2019 at 1:55 AM. Helped by Bobbie Person, Aaron and manager Mac.

I worked with Mr. Bobbie Person. Very professional and friendly guy. Bobbie once got me a car years back when I was in Ghana, West Africa before moving here to the states. Upon moving to the state, I contact him when I needed a car and told him what I want. He went out of his way looking and searching till found me exactly what I needed and in my budget. The used mazda cx-5 he got me was excellent and in perfect shape. I am a happy customer because of Bobbie and his managers. I will be going back soon for my next car.

I would recommend this dealer.

Poor customer service/ shady sales practices

By Kristi on 1/1/2019 at 6:23 PM. Helped by John and Lori.

Do not go to this dealership!! We negotiated a deal for a 2014 prius over the phone since we lived an hour and a half away. We worked with the sales manager to agree on a price that was mutually agreeable. We were told they were detailing the car when we were on the phone with them to have it ready for us. We left our house to start the drive to purchase the vehicle and were called on our drive because they sold it to someone else. We had already negotiated the cash deal and they knew we were coming in. Also how do you sell a car to someone else if it’s being detailed? Too many things do not add up, I think we were lucky we didn’t end up doing business with a dealership that has no ethics.

I would not recommend this dealer.

Glad I won't have to buy another car there

By TX Traveler on 12/6/2018 at 6:39 PM. Helped by Jonathan Green, Rhett Landrom, Javier Arroz, Jay Brown.

Working with this dealership was impossible - they were incredibly unprofessional. I recently purchased a used vehicle from Pinehurst Toyota and had a terrible time getting things in order with them. As soon as they heard the words "we are financing with our own bank" customer service went out the window. They even lost track of the check our bank sent them and we (the customer) had to go and track it down only to find out someone at the dealership already had it and cashed it... but they told us they never received the money. We only got quick responses once we brought in my husband or my father. Once I got the vehicle, which was supposedly detailed, it was still covered in the previous owners dog hair and stains were on the ceiling. They misspelled my husbands name on the paperwork multiple times when they even had his drivers license on file with the correct spelling. The only part that was pleasant was that they young sales person was very kind and helpful, and he made sure that I got the new wipers and trailer hitch installed on the vehicle quickly. I firmly believe the core of the issues we faced were his management and the financial team at the dealership.

I would not recommend this dealer.

My Experience: Misleading, Poor Post-Sales Customer Service

By HonestKnoxTraveller on 10/2/2018 at 2:28 PM. Helped by John Tew.

I recently purchased a used vehicle from Pinehurst Toyota. I live 6 hours away and so I had to work through the details of the deal prior to arriving to take possession of the truck. Throughout this experience I worked with 3 different sales representatives. I requested additional pictures of the vehicle along with detailed explanation of the state of the vehicle. The first issue was that they dealer stated that they had the service records for the vehicle. They did not. The next issue was that I was shuffled between representatives regularly and therefore had an issue working through the details of the vehicle. Was this in an of itself a sales tactic? After having agreed to a purchase price, which was on the higher end of the range for retail on this vehicle, I made arrangements to drive the 6 hours, in a rental car, and stay the night at a local hotel. In respect to the price, I agreed to pay a little above what my bank stated retail should have been due to the fact that I was advised by the sales representatives that this vehicle was in excellent condition. Upon arrival, the first issue was that the paint on the vehicle was faded. The pictures did not show this despite having thoroughly reviewed them. I’m not certain that a little bit of retouching wasn’t used. Next, the front driver tire is beyond safe to drive on. The passenger side is not too far behind. Ok, none of these are mechanical drive train issues so I agree to go on a test drive. The control for the air conditioner fan speed had a problem, but other than this it appeared as though I was not immediately dealing with any major issues. In respect to the condition of the paint, I’m advised that it is expected of that year. Ok, that is fine, but I’m not paying you for faded paint. I’m paying for a vehicle in excellent condition – which the dealership told me it was. This vehicle is not. However, due to the time and investment I have I opt to look past this. I sign the papers. And yes, since it’s a used vehicle I have to acknowledge the as-is statement. I’m fully aware of the legal aspects of this. I drive the vehicle to my hotel, turn the key back to turn the vehicle off, and it being a diesel, did not turn off. I spent 5 minutes working to get the vehicle to shut down. The next morning I start my drive back home and once I get out of town and get some speed I realize that the tachometer has stopped functioning, and the air conditioner controls are not working correctly. Then, as I reach highway speeds on the interstate I realize that I’m hearing a continuous humming sound. So, within 24 hours I start experiencing a number of issues with the vehicle despite having been told by the dealership that the vehicle was in excellent condition. In short, I was misled by the dealership. And I asked these questions thoroughly. I contacted the dealership within 24 hours to advise them that they had not disclosed the true condition of this vehicle to me and that, considering that I had paid excellent retail price would expect them to stand by their word, and their promise of great customer service, and assist with some of the repairs necessary to get the vehicle up to excellent retail. I received no response from the dealership. Not until I advised them that I was going to contact the State’s Attorney generals office did anyone respond, and even then they simply told me it was my problem. I’ll let anyone who has read this make their own determinations as to the experience they expect to have with this dealership, pre and post sales.

I would not recommend this dealer.

Worst experience at a dealership ever

By clmapex on 9/5/2018 at 3:06 PM. Helped by Bobby.

Drove an hour down to look at a vehicle that was in stock. Got phone confirmation from 2 employees at the dealership that the vehicle that I was looking at was at the dealership and would be available to look at by noon. Showed up on time and the salesman Bobby was running around the dealership like he had no purpose. They bring the wrong vehicle around to look at, we inform him that this is the wrong vehicle and he proceeds to ignore us while we wait for 20 minutes. When we confront him his manager informs us that the vehicle we came to look at wouldn't be there for a week. Nightmare scenario. This place is the nightmare you think about when you think about car buying. Simply put the worst dealership and people.

New Car Purchase

By Charlee on 12/26/2017 at 11:53 PM. Helped by Chad Holderfield.

Recently purchased a new Highlander from this dealership. There was an initial misunderstanding and I was very frustrated; however, the General Manager called me and listened calmly to my frustrations. Within a few days (at my convenience), I went to the dealership and met personally with him. He quickly resolved my problem and I am now a happy customer. Over the years I have purchased 5 or 6 vehicles from Pinehurst Toyota and each purchase was a pleasant experience. I love my new Highlander.

I would recommend this dealer.

Never go here!

By TJT on 11/14/2017 at 1:08 PM. Helped by They changed 3 times.

Absolutely the worst customer service ever. Found a vehicle and agreed on a price late on a Friday. Credit was perfect, floor manger agreed, and asked if I could come back on Monday since his dealership closed at 730. Agreed, and took the vehicle home with dealer plates. Came back on Monday and sat down to sign paperwork and price was different. Told them this isn’t what was agreed on, and they said take it or leave it. I asked for the floor manager I had worked with and they said no. Horrible customer service. NEVER go to this place. Additionally, it is dirty and as soon as you pull into the lot you have 5 people asking you personal questions. Again, horrible experience and will NEVER go back!

All my dealings before and after the sale have always been done in my best interest. I was prompted to write this because I read some of the negative comments. I thought I was reading about a different dealership. While I am sure there been. Problems from time to time in the buying and service process I don't believe for a minute that all is not done to try to satisfy the customer. Someone used chad and Robbie's name in their negative comments. Wow. I hope all will see this comment. In closing thanks for way we been treated since 1987 . Dave schuchard

Got Stuck!

By Jim on 5/6/2015 at 8:18 PM. Helped by Shawn, his sales manager, some tall black haired guy and the financial department.

I bought a 2014 carolla back in a September 2014. When I got back from the test drive, I told the salesman that I liked it but my credit was in poor standing! We worked out a deal, where I was guaranteed by 3 please there that Toyota Finance was a go, and worked out a price and rate. When the salesman told me to drive it on home, that the deal was set, I specifically ask again, "Are you sure that this is a go with my credit?" Again I was told yes, that the deal was done and were were set! It was late when I left there, so I had to come back the next day to do some paperwork. Once again on paperwork, we made a deal, set up our package, signed and shook on it! Well.... A few days later, I received a call from the salesman telling me that I needed to come in. He said that they just needed to straighten a little paperwork, and that they would fill the gas tank. When I got there, the salesman took the car to fill it as I went to handle the paperwork. Come to find out, I was turned down by Toyota Finance, and that they had me financed with someone else, with a lot higher interest rate, and that I was not eligible for the package that we agreed on! I was no longer even eligible for the Military Discount! (After 5 days and almost 1000 miles!) I knew I was screwed, because it was either pay the interest, or pay the same thing in mileage and use of the vehicle! They knew that we needed a vehicle that was good on gas because of the 30 mile commute to work every day, and that we were looking to save because my wife and I together have a total of 6 kids! Every time I get in the car I think about it, and it angers me! I pretty much for hustled! Also! I am still receiving letters, where they went to so many finance agencies, run my credit so many times and was denied! I have received well over 10 letters! In other words, if you have bad credit, and want to make it worse, just head right on up to Pinehurst Toyota! They'll be GLAD to help you out there! I even had to schedule an appointment to get it cleaned up, and when I got it back, my 6 year old could have done a better job than their cleaning crew!

Great deal on a new car

By Windmill Road on 9/3/2014 at 1:26 AM. Helped by Derryck Russell.

Won't waste much time, but would like to share with others considering buying a new car. Offered 3K+ more than other dealers for my trade and saved me over 2K on the price of our new car over the same car at other dealers. Easy, no haggle buy.

GREAT DEAL ON A GREAT CAR... HASSLE-FREE

By Engineer10388 on 6/11/2014 at 6:20 AM. Helped by Charlie Mitts (Internet) and Robbie Person (Sales).

Negotiating for a new car at some other dealerships can be about as much fun as a root canal. Pinehurst Toyota is a refreshing exception. I got an internet deal that was real...and really good. The process was smooth and professional, throughout. It concluded in delivery of the exact 2014.5 Toyota Camry XLE Hybrid that I'd specified. Most of my interaction was with Charlie Mitts (Internet) and Robbie Person (Sales), both a distinct pleasure to work with, but that description applies to everyone I met at Pinehurst Toyota. Of course a great deal is nothing unless the car is a winner. Consumer Reports gave the Camry Hybrid the highest marks of any car in its class, and it's easy to see why. The car is awesome and has exceeded all my (high) expectations. As an engineer-geek-pilot who worked in aerospace I feel like wearing a Captain's hat when behind the wheel. The icing on the cake is that I'll be saving over $1000 each year on gas (though it has lots of zoom), giving the Hybrid a lower net cost of ownership. My kind of car, my kind of dealership.

I would recommend this dealer.

Repairs done at Pinehurst Toyota

By ellenjordan on 5/16/2014 at 2:24 PM. Helped by Worked with several...Todd, Rick, Pam...not sure who else, by name!.

I had to have some pretty expensive repairs done on my 2005 330 Lexus SUV. Everyone was very pleasant, very helpful. I was given a "loaner Toyota Corolla" at no expense to me, while two days of work was being done. The ONL:Y reason I checked good and not great for the price is that I have NO idea what this kind of work and repair should cost or would have cost at Johnson Lexus in Raleigh. It was very expensive but my guess is that it would have been as much or more at a Lexus dealership. As long as I had to have this repair done, I was happy with Pinehurst Toyota Service Dept.!
